    I don't consider that a fail. I used to keep Ivysaur unevolved as well for the same reason, finding it Venusaur less attractive.

    Windy the Pigeot in Silver, traded from Yellow. The first Pokemon I ever caught. Followed briefly by Norbert the Dragonite and Muffin the Furret. To this day they were the only level 100 Pokemon I've ever owned that I'd trained there myself.

    I've only ever boxed my starter once, it was a Feraligatr in Silver which I chose in the first place on a whim not because I liked it. Once I boxed it I never used it again. Generally, my starter does permanently remain on my team.

    My entire team somehow contracted it in Alpha Sapphire while I was training a Lunatone at Jagged Pass for the Lavaridge Gym (which ended up not being needed because my Seaking did the whole job with one move per Pokemon haha).
