They are? When did that happen? During the original series, Hina was twelve and Ayato was trying to murder his sister. I don’t think a twelve year old would do that? I am confused?

He is around 14 at the start, then by re he is 18. Hinami is 18 in re, I googled their ages and it says they're around the same age.

She is not 12 in the original series, she is 13. When kaneki first meets ayato he is 14.
