Hello and welcome to Pokécharms!
As far as role-playing goes, that depends on what you have in mind.

Well upon looking around, it seems academic roleplays are quite popular! I am privy to a good adventure story myself, I've been tossing a few ideas around, and whether I play a Trainer or a Pokemon, I can adapt to whatever situation comes up.

I think the academic setting is popular because it's easier to keep track of. Here's a thought, what's your favorite Pokemon region?

Truth? Unova. Black/White is one of my favorite generations, next is Alola.

Mine is probably Hoenn because Sapphire was my first game and I'll have to agree on Alola.

Then we could do an Alola based roleplay? My main Pokemon trainer oc is a pokemon wildlife photographer, and her favorite region to work in happens to be Alola.

We can. I guess we would use established trainer OCs. Not beginners but not veterans either.

Mhm. Just casual trainers. Max three pokemon, to keep things simpler?

To start things off? Yeah, probably. There's a possibility of adding more later.

We should probably stick with canon Pokemon.

And probably show our characters to each other.

Canon pokemon, yes. As for showing our characters, I'm still in the process of drawing mine. I usually do digital art, but my set up is malfunctioning right now, so, back to pencil and paper lol!

But I can give a description?
