Footballeon? That's a soccer ball! (I know it's called football in the UK, but it had to be said.)

My nickname of "football" was given to me by the UKers and other non-US members, hence the soccer ball XD

Probably because it's actually ball-shaped and is kicked around with the foot, as opposed to egg-shaped and carried by hand like the thing you bloody yanks call 'football'. xP

I like British more than North Americans.

It all gets even more moot when you realize 'soccer' is a shorthand form of 'association football' that actually /originated/ in the UK to distinguish football from rugby a long time ago - and fell into disuse anywhere except the US and Canada (primarily because of Gridiron Football/Handegg being so popular in the US for some inexplicable reason).

So...Soccer is Football, and Rugby was the original cause, and American Football is more recent and doesn't have much to with the situation. Mind. Blown.

And let's not even get started about Australian Football, Gaelic Football and all the other weirdass variations.
