    I keep wanting to get back into pokemon, but I'm not sure where to even begin. I'd really like to pick up Soulsilver just for fun and memories and it would be neat to see my BW fantasy team come to life ( not sure how I'd get my own Genesect), but after that, between competitive battles and everything...then what?

    Even when I'm not playing the games anymore, or I've moved onto other things, I'm never not into Pokemon. Just being part of this forum helps keep the enjoyment going I find :)

    I take breaks from time to time, but I find the competitive scene extremely entertaining in the long term as I'm always finding new ideas and things to try. Ion Deluge Electivire has been the latest thing I've started toying with... I love to find little tricks like that and then try them in different scenarios to see how well they work.

    My advice, get an emulator and start from the very first Pokemon game. Then move your way up through the versions as you go along. I personally find it intriguing and entertaining to plunge back into my childhood by doing exactly that.

    Of course, whether you find pleasure in doing that is entirely based on your opinions and what you yourself find fun...
