Okay, my first roleplay. Basically this takes place in Kanto, and this is way after everything in the anime happened. It’s pretty much an entirely new generation. Because of this, I’ll just say that we need some gym leaders. Message me if you want to become one, okay? At the moment, all gyms are open EXCEPT for Saffron, Vermillion, and Cerulean.

Some quick rules:
1. Relationships and crushes are allowed, but it has to be PG.
2. No legendaries/mega evolutions unless you have permission to own one.
3. Don’t get butthurt if your character is declines.
4. No Mary Sues or Gary Stus. EVERYONE HAS FLAWS.
5. Speaking of perfect characters, your team, unless you’re a gym leader, has to be low or mid leveled. You can train up your team in the roleplay.
6. Unlike in the games or anime, the gyms do not have an order, but make sure there are some weaker and stronger gyms to accommodate for everyone.
7. Shinies are allowed, but you can only have one.
8. This follows the anime, not the games, so Pokémon can learn more than four moves and etcetera.
9. Update: You do NOT need to have the same gym type as the canon gyms did. You can own the Celadon City Gym, but don’t have to make it Grass-Type.

Name: Clementine Vance
Age: Fourteen-ish

Personality: Clementine is, to say the least, a stoic young girl who has a no-nonsense personality. She’s pretty stiff and is very cautious of new things to try out, but is still a trainer due to her ambitious attitude and her love for Pokémon.
Appearance: A thin and tall girl with long, straight, thick black hair and fringe that she usually puts up in a tight bun or with a headband. She has a pair of green eyes and pale skin.
Attire: Clementine likes to layer up, even if it’s hot outside. She wears a plain black tank top with a white long-sleeved shirt, and over top with an olive-color cardigan. If she isn’t wearing a headband, she usually has a beanie on her head. She wears a pair of dark skinny jeans and plain, worn running shoes.
Backstory: Clementine was born in a small, rural area that didn’t have a lot of money. Because of that, Clementine became a very ambitious individual who would do pretty much anything for an extra buck. Her father, who was raising Clementine alone, got a new job in Kanto to get a fresher start. Once they moved there, her father let her go out on her own with her few Pokémon to become a great trainer.

Small Backstory: Since Pepper was so tiny, she was repeatedly picked on by other Pokémon because they assumed she couldn’t fight back. Clementine was going through the woods when she saw Pepper getting bullied by a Meinfoo. She stood up for Pepper and they’ve been inseparable since.

Personality: He is a serious, Stern and slightly aloof individual, he may come off as cold, like his father, but he also has a caring side, like his mother.
Appearance: James is very tall for his age (5'10"), and a somewhat slim appearance, he has one notable scar, on his left cheek, in a slash mark, from an encounter at home with a wild Haxorus. He has platinum blonde hair and blue eyes.
Attire: James wears a green tshirt with durable work pants, usually tan in color, with shoes, he wears a backpack with everything in it, except a cloak given to him by his father.
Backstory: He was born to Firey Argentston (potential Champion) and Ariana Montgomery, the last of their triplets, he usually played with his parents Pokemon, amongst them were a Houndoom, an Aggron and the likes. He received his starter from Professor Birch last, getting stuck with Treecko.

Backstory: Firey was a trainer in Hoenn, took three attempts to win the league there before heading to Unova, where he took top 4, he went through every other league with similar results, except for Kanto, he blew through the league and Challenged the Elite four, they gave him a challenge, before facing Lance, which took two attempts to beat.

Appearance: Arion has big, brown eyes and long and somewhat messy dark blue hair. He wears a long, dark blue robe with psychic symbols that light up when he is using his psychic power.
Personality: Arion is a very stoic and straightforward person. He has a no nonsense attitude to everything, including battles. He is also highly intelligent, having a sharp mind that can read an opponent almost instantly. He has flaws, however, as he trusts no one, so it is very hard to get acquainted to him. He is also not very good at talking, preferring to use telepathy at all times. He can also be very aloof.
Backstory: He is the son of Sabrina, who passed on the gym to him when he turned 16. He inherited Sabrina's Alakazam as well, and the two share a deep bond with each other. He is adept at telepathy, preferring to use it rather than talking, and is currently trying to master his other psychic abilities. However, he has little to no control over them yet because his father was non psychic.
Battle Style: Arion's battle style is to cripple the opponent's Pokemon with status conditions, then use extremely powerful moves with no cost.
Gym Badge: His gym badge is a modified version of the Marsh Badge, called the Enigma badge. It is a small, gold medallion, but with a psychic rune on it that flashes spontaneously. It is said to bring the holder good dreams, however, this was partly debunked as a myth.
Theme inside Gym: I won't link it, but I think Arion's theme would be the Sinnoh Gym Leader theme. It makes you say 'I have to win this battle', and that's the kind of thing I want for this leader. Also, I have a bias towards Sinnoh :p

Personality: Quiet and calculating, Grey is schedule oriented and dedicated to his training. Grey believes strength comes from a deep connection with one's Pokemon, and treats his Pokemon as he would a friend. He could care less about strength through battling, though Grey has been told he has a knack for it if he wanted to do so.
Appearance: Tall and thin, Grey is 6'6" but no more than 200lbs. He has long grey-black hair that curls at his shoulders. His eyes are a sapphire like blue.
Attire: Grey wears a hoodie/leather jacket combo with curled grey dress pants, tall black or white socks and low cut running shoes. In the cold he wears heavy gloves, a thick knit cap and a black, wool overcoat.
Backstory: Born in Celadon City, Grey's mom worked at a cafe serving drinks. His dad left at a young age to train in Johto. Though he never returned, he left behind a Ditto and an egg that Ditto had laid, born from his Hitmontop. Grey hatched a Tyrogue, and along with Ditto, attended the trainer's school in Viridian. Grey got a job in the Celadon Department Store and worked in community gardens to help support his mom, until she had the money to buy the cafe. Grey spent some time in Johto looking for his dad, but with no luck, he returned to Kanto to explore and travel with his Pokemon.

Small Backstory: Injured just outside Mt. Moon, Grey nursed the small Nidoran back to health. The next day, he found the Nidoran following him through the cave, and eventually captured it after a short battle. Nidoran eventually evolved into Nidorino after a battle with an acquaintance met outside of Fuschia City.


Sorry if the levels are a little high. I want Grey to be an experienced trainer but not someone who tries to get badges, if that's okay with you. He's just here to adventure and sleep outside.

Also I'm not the best with abilities and whatnot so I'll edit those later

Personality: Arrogant, self-centered, and mostly cocky. He has a jolly and mocking personality, speaking informally with most people as if they are close friends and often using nicknames. He has a twisted pleasure of seeing people struggle against him when fighting him in a battle and if someone stronger appears before him, he has an obsessive fixation on defeating them no matter what. He loves power and would do anything to attain it.

Appearance: Zyrus is a thin and tall young man. He has a lean body that's usually covered up by his large clothes, giving others the impression that he is skinnier than he looks. He has short and spiky black hair and intimidating red eyes, and has fair white skin. His most notable features are his sly eyes that look as if he was looking down on you every time he glances at you, which he probably is.

Attire: His usual attire is a dark coat with grey fur trimming over a dark long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, and black and white sneakers.

Backstory: As a child, Zyrus was praised as a young prodigy in his hometown of Viridian City. Topping his academics with flying colors and excelled in other extracurricular activities, many would notice this rising star and he himself would bask in the limelight. It was ingrained to him that he was the best so much that it got to his head and really thought that no one would be better than him while the others would only watch from the sidelines like background characters.

Of course, there would be others that would be irked by his viewpoint but what could they do? He beat them all whether it be in smarts, brawn, or skill in Pokémon battling. He had overpowered everyone who came after him many times that it started to bore him. Then he heard about the Pokémon World Championships, where the strongest Trainers all over the world competed against each other to prove who really is the strongest Trainer.

As someone who is seeking a more challenging path to becoming the strongest, the Pokémon World Championships was like an answer to his prayers. It was then that he started his journey as Trainer, to become the strongest and prove everyone that he was number one.

His injuries were caused by a strong Pokémon that kept harassing him while he was too weak to retaliate. Zyrus offered to help him gain power and eventually got his revenge. He then offered his loyalty to the strong trainer and wished to follow him on his path to greatness.

Small Backstory: Caught as a Zubat who was causing chaos in the caves of Mt. Moon. The small Bat Pokémon terrorized the local wildlife and loved to fight anything it comes across… that is, until he met Zyrus. The trainer was able to convince Zubat and joined his team. Why confine itself in such a small area when it could go all over the world to fight anything it desires?

Small Backstory: Originally an abandoned Magikarp that was fueled with so much rage that it evolved into a Gyarados. Zyrus had encountered the rampaging monster near a small town that was beside a river, wreaking havoc and destruction everywhere. He was able to defeat the enraged Gyarados and caught it. Now it has a vendetta against Zyrus and aimed on defeating every Trainer including his own as revenge for what happened to it.

He can be rude and cruel in his own right but without malicious intention. Wise beyond his years, he is known to often spout philosophical jargon and seems to have a talent for saying the right things at the right time. Beyond his thick exterior lies a great sadness. A man of few words, he prefers his actions to speak for him. He is also very lazy and prefers not to be told what to do as he feels that infringes on his freedoms.
Appearance: To the untrained eye he can seem rather weak and frail. His long brown, curly hair gently strokes his face sweeping over to one side like a wave. His olive complexion and dark deep eyes turn heads though this is not his intention. People would describe him as exotic looking, thin and angular, much of which shows in his high cheek bones. He carries himself in a slouch most of the time seemingly deflated. The area around his eyes are dark. No matter how much sleep he has (if any) he looks perpetually tired.
Attire: He sports a lot of metal clips, jewelry and piercings making his clink and clamor when he walks about, like a purse of loose change. He also wears a brown hooded cloak which conceals most of his body appearing as some sort of phantom seemingly gliding through the air. His left eyebrow and right ear sports numerous piercings.
Backstory: His backstory is unknown to anyone who does not know him personally and even those that do know very little. All that can be known is that he was once part of a great family whose wealth and influence made it into the many business sectors of the world. He however chooses to live in voluntary exile away from it all. He journeys now to the gyms of Kanto in hopes of completing some unknown goal as he himself does not much care for the sport of battling. If pressed however, he may become mean spirited and snap even on his friends.
Occupation: An herbologist though not in the mystical sense, he prefers to stick to the forests creating medicine with his friends, the Pokemon and of course his partner and only really ever journeys into town to gather supplies. He makes his living selling things he's gathered from otherwise dangerous parts of the forest and guiding others throughout the lands he knows so well.

Small Backstory: Some unknown tragedy befell his Ninjask some time ago. Although Hollow is its own Pokemon in its own right, it chose to stay close and formed a deep bond with its friend. It does not have a Pokeball and likes to linger in the shadows of the trees often going invisible and popping in and out at inappropriate times. It enjoys surprising adults and playing with children. Despite this, many people often treat it with malice and fear as its lore permeates the untruth of soul stealing if one were to gaze into the hollow of its back.

Small Backstory: Found by Nohbody in a trap placed by poachers, Fern felt indebted to him and has since followed him aiding in the production of medicines and acting as the group's compassionate ground. She loves flowers and loves storing her favorites in her bulb. She can be a bit naive and brash but never backs down from a fight. Recently however, she is conflicted with her state knowing she isn't strong enough to truly protect her friends but not wanting to have to evolve in order to become stronger.
Extra: She is very mottled in texture, her spots overtaking her normal coloring as if freckled all over.
