Oh noes, another fiction from aReX. Will he be able to finish it this time? Who can say... This is something a bit different. Hopefully I won't get caught up in its serious storyline and keep it light-hearted, which is probably why I haven't written a Blood Moon Chapter in ages. Besides that, I have supplied this story with a far more interesting cast, which'll hopefully keep me inspired to writing it.
Chapter 1
The city's lights glimmered brightly in the night. The sheer brilliance of the buildings they came from had shattered any hopes the night sky might have had of its own luminance being seen amidst its earthbound counterparts. And yet high atop one of the city's countless concrete and glass pillars, a lone figure stood, wishing that she could see the stars in the heavens from this altitude. Unable to, she looked down with disdain at the colorful flashes below.
As beautiful as they were, she knew these lights did not belong to the city she once knew; the city she had once loved. This bustling metropolis, the capital of the new nation of Forum had once belonged to her and her friends long ago. And ever since its new ownership, it had become a cesspool of those whose severe lack of morals was irritating to say the least. Sadly, the right to evoke justice upon those felons was no longer hers; At least the justice that the city's government enforced yet did not uphold. If that was the case, than she didn't want anything to do with such a flawed system. Gazing down on her hands, now tightened into fists, she knew what must be done. As did her partner, who from the shadows of the skyscraper, began to stir and move to her side.
Her accomplice surveyed the city silently with crimson eyes that evoked little emotion. As a Diver, she could not grasp the importance of their mission. All she knew was that she had a job to do; that she must do; For the sake of this person next to her, her Trainer. Amidst the flurry of dancing lights, one in particular, moving down the highways had caught her attention. It was connected to a luxurious black limousine gliding obnoxiously down the road, confident its entourage of motorcycles and less luxurious vehicles and their drivers could protect it and its own passengers.
Rogue's cybernetic eyes stayed affixed on the vehicle, zooming ever closer towards one of its windshields. Her vision switched over from her regular visuals to lens of a higher caliber, one allowing her to make out the individuals inside the limo. "Target is confirmed," she whispered to her Trainer. Sami glanced at her partner, than down at the limo she had locked on to. Rogue had identified it as Karloff, the very man they were looking for. Pulling out a photograph from the pocket of her grey trench coat, she observed the features of their target whilest going over the report in her head.
Ivan Karloff was a gaunt, middle-aged man. He had a rather sharp but crooked nose that seemed to jut out from the rest of his face. All the flesh from his cheeks seemed to from the countless wrinkles around his eyes and forehead, which was covered by a mat of dirty blonde hair, combed to the side. He was a shady man running an even shadier business cleverly disguised as an oil company. He was a good friend and business partner with Charm's current head. After all, the city's countless Modbots needed a healthy supply of oil to continue to shirk the rules and allow Charm's denizens to continue to uphold their own rules for living in the city. Seeing his face, Sami could get a fairly accurate impression from the man. He was a coward who relied on the sheer power of his business partner to continue doing what few knew about. Yet another crime pinned to the Head's file.
However, Intel had something more important to note of him. It seems Karloff is particularly excited to meet with the Head today. Sources say that he had something rather important to show him, something that he had found while drilling some new property. they couldn't confirm exactly what it was. But going over the property where it was found, and the fact that Karloff went to the Head first before any other business partner, they could conclude it wasn't something good. Before Karloff's company had bought the land, it had been one of the first few places where they found it. Sami looked at her partner again, and Rogue looked back at her, her surveillance now complete.
Rogue looked like any other 13-year old girl. However that was far from what she truly was. The only clue to that were the metallic spikes protruding from where a human's ears should be. Rogue's in particular pointed upwards, like that of a dog's ear. With her long, silver hair and piercing red eyes, Sami had always saw Rogue as one of her favorite creatures. Rogue, in all her stoicness however did not seem to harbor any mannerism of a Poochyena. But when it came to battle, she would become an uncanny resemblance to her namesake. Such was the basis of how she and the other Divers were programmed.
Sami tapped a small device fastened to her ear. "They're making a left," she whispered into it. Her message was transmitted downwards at the bottom of the skyscraper, where their other accomplices awaited their status.
Inside a small van parked in the darkness of an alley, A young man received the message through his own CommLink. "Roger that," he replied into it., and began to start the vehicle. Sitting beside him was a boy, whose metallic ears identified him as another Diver. Hearing the van suddenly purr to life, he too sat at the ready to begin the operation. The Van started forward, and gradually revealed itself form the shadows. It joined the other vehicles on the road and soon took a similar to path to the black limo and its protective wall of assorted vehicles. "We're on the move," RX whispered. With that as a signal, Sami and Rogue dashed over to the edge of the building. Rogue clutched her Trainer tightly as the two leapt off the ledge simultaneously. They soared through the sky before abruptly landing on the top of the building next to their previous station. Following RX and his van, the two ran atop building after building; jumping across them effortlessly, thanks to Rogue's extraordinary abilities.

What is it? Who are the mysterious Divers? Is aReX seriously going to finish this story this time? All shall be revealed soon...I hope :<
Chapter 2
RX wasn't a particular fan of driving. So much so that it was a miracle for him to have gotten so good at it. The rudeness of Charms' drivers also did not help, leaving plenty to be desired with respect for others and the road in general. It was further uncomfortable being out in the open and yet remaining hidden from their prey. Despite all his qualms, he reminded himself of how much he hated heights even more. To further convince himself, he added that his own grace and agility left much to be desired as well. As hard as he attempted, it was still difficult to fathom it with so many car horns beeping incessantly at each other for whatever petty reason.
RX took a deep sigh and looked out his window, staring up at the buildings longingly as only he noticed two silhouettes moving across the buildings at an alarming speed. He then looked down at the car next to his van. It was small sports car, clad in metal accessories of all sorts and colored an incredibly obnoxious color of red. Its driver was a young man clad in fancy white clothes, pink glasses and an ugly blonde thing on his head which RX could guess was his hair. Seated next to him and clutching him tightly was a scantily clad lady, making kissy faces at him. The young man grinned at this and glanced over at RX, who proceeded to give him a frown of discontent before retreating to the shadows within his own vehicle. Pulling up the collars of his trench coat, he set his eyes on the road, looking ahead to see the familiar group of vehicles being held up by the abrupt traffic.
RX placed a finger against his C ommLink, but suddenly changed his mind on giving a status report. Sami and Rogue could see perfectly from their vantage anyway. Having run out of things to do, his eyes wandered over to his partner, who sat beside him quietly and motionlessly. Bluez smiled his usual smile and began to hum a tune unfamiliar to his Trainer. From his slight gestures, it was apparent how his personality was vastly different from Rogue's; perhaps because RX took it on himself to program Bluez. Looking at it now, the aspect of a seemingly innocent boy involved in such dangerous work as there was certainly something to raise an eyebrow to. It was exactly what he had been looking for in a Diver; something completely out of the norm. And while RX reasoned that it was for the element of surprise, the truth was that he simply enjoyed such a befuddling relationship as that he and Bluez possessed.
As the traffic began to move, Sami and Rogue took a moment to scan their surroundings. They've been traveling for about 15 minutes now, and nothing out of the ordinary seems to have happened. Sami assumed that by this time a Modbot or too would have detected them by now. Even with the interference their Divers' biomechanical bodies gave off, there should have been some form of abnormality they should have caused. She then stressed her worries to RX, who in the heat of a vicious traffic jam, coyly answered. "Don't you think you're overreacting?" he asked her. "I'm serious," Sami answered. "I hate to sound like you but statistically speaking, with something this big going on, its impossible for us not to get noticed. Karloff's got all those guards and it feels weird that not a single Modbot's out here looking out for him." "Well, I wouldn't know about his guard's performance, but a Modbot not being around in this traffic jam is a bit strange…or not," RX said jokingly. As he said this, several Modbots came floating in and set themselves around the street.
The Modbots were large, round robots with a single spherical object protruding form their chest. This was apparently their head, as three dot-shaped lights would dance around it, acting as the optical receptors of the machine. Their bulbous forms held a vast myriad of weapons ranging from the threatening to those that were used to subdue crowds of intolerable citizens. Recently, with the activity of a certain mysterious rebel syndicate escalating alarmingly, the Modbots have taken to being equipped with a deadlier array of weapons; outfitted to hunt rebels down, yet used mostly for threatening the general riff-raff. Such law-enforcement disgusted the two as they watched the brutes' pathetic attempts at reasoning with the populace. In their time, moderating the city's activity was never done by machines; Sami of all people should know that. And while threatening with overwhelming power was nothing new, it was all in the spirit of fun. That was how tightly knit the citizens were before the Head's term. Now the city was so densely overpopulated, people had taken to creating their own little social groups. It also seemed that every day a new face would appear within the crowds of strangers. New faces were sometimes a good thing, unless you were unfortunate enough to come across someone deemed "hopeless" by the city's law-enforcers.
Having brought out the weapons of a "mildly threatening" degree, as rated by Sami, the Modbots had managed to straighten out some of the troubles. Thus did the river of vehicles and noise pollution begin to flow smoothly once again. The hulking brutes made crude hand gestures with their bulky robotic arms, as though redirecting traffic without ever resorting to threats. RX pulled up his windshield to hide his features, but not before giving a satisfactory "tsk" at the direction of the Modbots, then making his way towards the limo and its cronies. Sami and Rogue were likewise on the move, and made an extra caution that the Modbots' optic sensors would not see them gliding over the buildings.
