Another N00bs Sprite Art (Currently not taking requests)

Hi, I'm Scrapps, I'm kind of new at using sprite work so I don't have much to show off...unless you wanna see some stuff I made months ago that's very horrible. :p
I don't have any fancy-smancy programs except Pixia, which I'm still trying to figure out. Thus leading into not transparent backgrounds, and average spriting.

So here is what I've got:

untitled1.jpg

Basically with this one I changed the hat, hair color, shirt, pants, skin color, from the Diamond/Pearl. Let me know if I forgot to mention something I changed...

Isaac.jpg

This is a Diamond/Pearl bug trainer, with longer pants, the Male Diamond/Pearl skiers hat and goggles (They look like sunglasses to me...), removed the bag the original trainer had, and replaced the net with a baseball bat....don't ask...

They're a bit fuzzy.

Please point out things you don't like...besides the fuzzy-disortedness.

You're not half bad, Scrapps. You've just got some simple beginner problems.

1. Always save as .PNG or .GIF. They're both more clear and easy to edit once saved.

2. Shading: the weak point of many. On everything you see with a sprite, you need to remember that there is shading from some corner of the sprite.

3. A smaller thing, there are some people, like me, who will make something trans for people, but it won't work if its saved as .JPEG.

Hope this was help.

Scrapps, you don't need to make a card then edit it. They're not that hard to make. And if you want, so no one gets pissed, I'll make you a card if you send me anything specific about what you want in it, since you seemed to edit the Pokemon a bit too.

You're not me, alost anything is difficult for me to make, I need to put a lot of time and effort (as in a few days) to get really good art...this I just wipped up in (oh no here it comes) MS Paint because I still need to learn how to use other programs I have.

Scrapps, the average spriter can do amazing work with just MS Paint. In fact, that's what I use. The only time I use another program normally is to make something transparent.

Also, Scrapps, to keep your hopes up, I use photoshop on some of my sprites, and they end up worse then these (the ones I do in photoshop are never put on; they're all done on MS Paint). Also, if you look at a few of my oldest sprites, they're probably worse than the first sprites you've made.

Also, know that most good spriters here started off bad, but with practice, they gradually became better. Take... say, Arte as an example. His first few sprites... weren't the best, I should say. But with practice, he's now one of the better spriters. Also, I've been spriting for over a year now, and I still have horrid shading skills.

Also, just my thing, but try to keep sprites 80x80 pixels in length and width, and try not to scratch sprite anything yet (and try not to scratch shade either, if you know what I mean. Just use colors already existing in other Pokemon sprites, like trainer sprites and Pokemon sprites.)

I agree with Shiny. Just look at me, anyone whose been to my Sprite Forum can tell you (if they're not trying to humor me) that I'm the worst spriter on the site. I haven't given up though, I'm still (slowly) spriting and getting better (the program I'm currently using is an idiot when it comes to shades of colors, so it ain't easy). Don't give up, after all, you're all ready WAYYYYYYYY better than me.
