They had company behind them, all of a sudden.

Kazaaak and the Guardian rushed in first to face the incoming brutes, with the former not taking their response as he scurried away, exclaiming he had made a bad decision. JULIAN and David didn't move from their spots, leaving Copen to jump into the fray instead, thrusters around his shoulders and legs flaring to life with pinkish flames as he sprinted into the previous room.

"There's no time for this. Go!"

Upon exiting the connecting corridor, iX took note of the foes before him. Four brutes near the center, one visibly wielding a weapon just like Kazaak and the Guardian, except it was clearly much easier to wield in his larger hands. Copen quickly shot two blasts of his plasma pistol at one of the brutes, and expecting to draw a bit of fire, proceeded to leap towards the wall behind him, aided by his trusters. With some height advantage on the enemies and using his jets to remain in the air for longer, he continued to fire shots toward each of the brutes, trying to keep them on the defensive as much as possible.
