"Oh, that felt good. Imagine if I was human, I would've had to learn how to use this- Oh, you're retaliating." Pointing at the corpse of the Brute JULIAN shot, the robot was caught off guard swiftly by the tackling Brute right after Overdrive ran out. Rather unfortunate.

The head was being crushed by the physically-strong foe. Structural integrity was damaged. Power moved to defending head module. Arms wouldn't move to pull the hands off, there was little chance of being strong enough. Not wasting time doing that was the benefit of not being a prone-to-panic human. The problem, instead, was the Brute was far too close for the Beam Rifle to be moved into position for firing, even once the 5 seconds had passed. With the little human's shots not taking out the enemy but only damaging him, JULIAN figured to take matters into his own hands.
"I did not wish to use this so soon, but you've earned this."

Or perhaps no. A second of self-preservation slowed JULIAN's response to the question. Yes, the first use of Nova would not damage it, but it was like being asked to actually use a saved resource. But, above the jiralhanae, the Bug appeared, biting into the Brute.
