Alex scooped up Growlithe as he walked in the front doors of the hotel, backpedaling while offering apologies to the poor bystanders she had jumped on. He turned around and walked towards the desk, Growlithe in one arm and his luggage in the other. "Hi!" he greeted the receptionist. "I'm Alex Forester, I reserved a room?"
"Hello, welcome to Shooting Star Hotel!" the receptionist tapped some keys on her computer keyboard. "Ah yes, here it is. We're still preparing your room for you Mr. Forester, but we'll take your bags for you while you wait!" As Alex moved to hand over his bags, Espeon jumped onto the counter and gave him a petulant meow.
"Ah, right!" Alex turned his attention to the receptionist as he placed his bags on the desk. "Sorry, one second." Placing Growlithe on the floor, he reached into one of his bags and pulled out a small ziplock bag of Espeon's food - just enough for one serving - along with a paper plate. With Espeon finally satisfied, he left his bags with the receptionist and headed over to one of the lobby couches to wait.
He picked up a flyer from an end table. "'New City Hall' conference, celebrating the dissolving of Team Galactic with special guest speaker Ray Montag," he read aloud. "What do you think, Growlithe? Want to go listen to a speech from a former evil team member?" Growlithe seemed nervous at the idea. "Come on! We could learn a lot about rehabilitating pokemon! It might help us break into the pokemon behavioral research field!" he attempted to tempt Growlithe into agreeing. "Well, Espeon and I are excited, right Espeon?" Of course Espeon meowed in agreement. Anything Growthithe didn't want, Espeon was all too ready for. "Alright, I guess that settles it. We'll be there!"
