Do NOT ask if you can join an RP on the RP thread itself! This leads to a lot of unnecessary OOC chatter and that's not what the RP boards are for.

Clockwork Tragedy

OoC: Okay, I came up with this sort of spur-of-the-moment and it's based (kind of) on Steampunk ideas. I say "kind of" because it's not full on Steampunk. Anyway, there is a back story that will come in but for the sake of development it will come into play later after a few posts.

Anyway PM me your posts and I'll give you the go ahead. Please, do not post without permission. Thank you.

BiC:

In the skies above the land of Lanatia, Marx finished buckling his belt around his waist and placed his weapons in the holsters that hung at the back of his belt. He put on his brown trench coat, and his top hat. He fastened his welding goggles around the top of the hat, right above the brim. He slipped on his fingerless gloves and took a quick glance in the mirror. Finally he put a clear clock around his neck that hung by a chain, he wore it because he liked to watch the clockwork within. He looked at least presentable, on a normal day he'd spend another half an hour or so getting ready until he felt perfect, but today was a raid and his spirits were nice and high.

"Alright boys!" He yelled as he stepped out of quarters, "Get to your positions--" He was interrupted by a pipe leaking steam in front of him. "Damn it! Where are my engineers? Fix these leaks while we're gone!" He walked onto the bridge of his ship, out the front windows he could see the clouds passing by, and a small town approaching on the horizon.

"Mornin' Cap'n!" The navigator said as Marx stopped to survey the crew. He slowed the ship just out of range of the towns view, luckily Marx had slaved to upgrade the ships hovering capabilities. Now the ship hovered soundlessly, Marx was a great engineer, he built the whole ship from scratch and then searched far and wide and hand selected the crew he now possessed.

"Alright, gentlemen." The crew lined up in front of him, each one prepared for the task ahead, weaponry hanging from all manner of straps and fixings. They were all dressed similarly to Captain Marx, in brown and off-whites, clockwork, cogs, and welding goggles. Everyone on board could act as an engineer, just in case. "This is a simple job, the town is too far from the capital for Her Majesty's Military to interfere. We go in, we plunder, we leave. No dead, got it?"

"Aye, Captain!" The crew barked in response. He stepped up to the Navigator, and told him to fly down to the town, it was time to start the raid.

The ship flew in and approached the town silently, the town wasn't equipped to fight off a pirate attack. They were practically a frontier town and that was why Marx chose this town to attack. When they disembarked the town was empty, it was Sunday morning, every town within Lanatia was required to have a gathering once a week to praise Queen Lanata. "Perfect, let's go crash this party." Marx was grinning wide as he drew his six-shots. They were all in the Town Center, a large, stone building that looked more like a church with statues of the Queen all around it.

Four members of Marx's crew busted down the door, causing alarmed cries and interrupting a prayer to the Queen. The rest of the crew he ordered to break into the houses and steal everything of value. "Ladies and gentlemen," Marx said with an over exaggerated gesture with his hands and pulling his welding goggles down over his eyes, "Fear not, we are the crew of the Clockwork Tragedy. Captain Marx Tragedy at your service, and we are here to take your valuables." His crew took to going around person by person with their weapons taking things and inciting fear.

"Don't be alarmed, we won't hurt you so long as you--"

"Captain! HMM soldiers are approaching fast!" One of the crew members that had been stealing from the houses ran in, nearly in hysterics.

"How in the--" The town shook as the ships of Her Majesty's Military approached. Land ships, damn noisy things Marx thought as he turned to his frightened crew. "Don't just stand there, back to the ship!" The crew grabbed the bag full of their meager earnings and ran out the door, "Ladies and gentlemen, I'm afraid we must be going. But remember one important thing," He held up his clear clock and threw it on the ground in the middle of the building, "Tragedy keeps on coming round, like the hands of a clock." He smiled as the clock exploded into a flash of light and smoke.

When he ran out of the building into the Town Square, there were a great number of soldiers already waiting for them, "How are we going to get out of this?" Marx mumbled to himself as he reached for his six-shots slowly.
