Open Console High

Welcome to Console High, where video characters from many different realities came to hone their skills, forge alliances and friendships, and prove themselves in every aspect of life. The esteemed academy has opened its doors to many new students this year, from mobile to PC. No matter what challenges lie on the horizon, from bullies, to homework, and even giant monsters, life must go on for every student of Console High.

We're on Pokecharms. Follow Pokecharms rules.

If you don't know something about a character, Google it.

The characters should primarily be associated with or originate from video games. So no, you can't be Spongebob.

Keep things PG, though romance is allowed.

Don’t make your posts too short, so no one-liners.

The important rule is to have a ton of fun.

Put Console in your bio to be accepted. It’s just to make sure people read the rules.

This is a spinoff to Nintendo High, so everything canon to that series will also apply to this roleplay. This takes place after Season 1, so here’s the full series if you wanna catch up with it, and all credit goes to Foozle. @D34N.U5R originally made a Nintendo High roleplay long ago, and it was definitely my inspiration for Console High.

You can also be a teacher or member of the school staff; just specify which position you are.

Now, without further ado, here's my character:

Name: Hammer Brother

Age: 16

Appearance: He's just a regular Hammer Brother but often wears a red letterman jacket emblazoned with a Bowser symbol (that he wants to remove at some point). He can take off his helmet and shell since they function more as clothes for him. He also carries around a mysterious brown pouch, which functions as its own pocket dimension, which he uses to store his infinite supply of hammers.

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Straight

Biggest Strength: When it comes to throwing and swinging stuff, especially hammers, he’s the best at it!

Biggest Weakness: He has a short attention span, and can be too impulsive for his own good.

Biggest Fear: He’s scared of feeling lackluster compared to his siblings, friends, and to those around him. He also doesn’t want to be a jerk, and definitely not another henchman for some school bully, not after Nintendo High.

Roles: Jock, Class Clown, Hard Worker

Species: Koopa

Personality: Bold, brash, and impulsive, Hammer Bro. wants to stand out from the bunch with his natural charm and comedy. His confidence is second to none, to the point that it gets him in trouble. He spends most of his time either collecting hammers, pulling pranks, and cracking jokes with his pals. However, under his complacent exterior is a Koopa with a heart of gold, an iron will, and a resolve harder than diamonds. He’s a loyal confidant, defending his friends to the bitter end, no matter what struggles befall the plucky turtle.

Relationships: His father is a Dry Bones, and his mother is a Koopa. He has two older brothers, Boomerang Bro. and Fire Bro., who both specialize in different powers and care deeply for their little brother. Fire Bro. has a short fuse and can explode with rage, while Boomerang Bro. only speaks in an Australian accent and is more tactical and precise than his brothers. His grandfather is a Sledge Bro. who was once a demolition worker under the legendary Foreman Spike, but now the family calls him Grandpa Sledge.

Nickname(s): Hammer Bro.

Backstory: Before he ever came to Console High, Hammer Bro. was once part of Bowser’s posse (yeah, that Bowser) and was one of his best cronies. He’d pull pranks, help with his schemes, and even shake down some poor kids for lunch money for the boss. Yet even he felt like Bowser was being too aggressive towards his enemies and even his so-called friends. Hammer Bro. had tried to talk him down on several occasions, but nothing could persuade the King of the Koopas, even the fact that Peach wasn’t into him.

Fortunately, when prom came around, he got extremely sick with Koopa Influenza and couldn’t attend the event, which meant he didn’t have to witness Bowser hold an entire prom hostage with a menagerie of villains. He dodged a maelstrom of bullets, but he couldn’t exactly be seen around the big lug anymore, especially when the news came out to all the parents.

This incident is what drove his parents to have him transfer schools to Console High, and he hopes that he never has to look back.

Goal: He wants to reinvent himself at Console High, separating himself from his old life back in Nintendo High. All he wants to do now is to make good friends, pull some spectacular pranks, and collect all kinds of hammers.

Fun Facts: His obsession with hammers started when he was a young Koopa, when Grandpa Sledge gave him a rubber hammer as a toy, which he still has in his sack to this day.

His father was once an ordinary red Koopa who worked at a castle as a janitor, until he fell into lava. The other employees managed to rescue him, but he became a Dry Bones from the heat. The gruesome incident hasn't stopped him from being a loving husband and father.

Along with some of the adults you'll see at Console High:

Pac-Man
The principal of Console High, his timeless appearance is matched by optimistic belief in his school and his students. He’s learnt many things in his long life, and loved sharing advice with any students who needs it. For some unexplained reason, supernatural creatures, especially ghosts, are terrified of him.

Cooking Mama
Unlike in most schools, the lunches are made with the utmost care, since Cooking Mama is the lunch lady at Console High. She’s always there to encourage students and give a helping hand. She knows everything that there is to know about the culinary arts, and is extremely serious when it comes to cooking.

R.O.B
One of the first androids, R.O.B’s unique methods in education allow him to keep pace with this modern world. He has more than enough processing power to teach computer science, and handle any threat that comes his way. He’s always rearranging the stuff in his classroom, and nobody knows the true cause of this behavior.

Sans and Papyrus
Papyrus is an optimistic gym teacher and head coach who believes that his students have what it takes to be, in his own words, "THE GRANDEST ROYAL CADETS OF ALL TIME." Sans, on the other hand, is notorious for being extremely lazy, even for an assistant coach.

Kratos and Mimir (God of War: Ragnarok)
While an unexpected choice for the guidance counselor, Kratos is a good father to his son, and has learned many lessons on his redemption arc across the Nine Realms. It also helps his case that Mimir is the perfect person to get a student's head in the game, pun not intended.

Slenderman (Slenderman: The Eight Pages)
Do not stick around Console High after dark, for that's when Slenderman is rumored to stalk the grounds, as both the groundskeeper and a security guard. The only reason he's nocturnal at all is that he hates kids more than anything and doesn't want to be interrupted during his shift. He can be bribed with notebook pages, and has a crippling fear of the principal.

I am taking suggestions for subject teachers.

Love this concept. Wanted to say PAC-MAN might be a good candidate for principal, if not a subject teacher

EDIT: Gonna add any more suggestions I can think of down here (iff and when they come to me):

Lunchlady ~ Cooking Mama
Computer Science Teacher ~ R.O.B

I love the idea that one of the oldest video game characters is the principal of Console High, and I can imagine him acting like an eccentric old man. Considering his reputation with ghosts, he probably keeps Slenderman in line.

If you plan on it, I’d love to see your take on a character.

((Mr Game-and-Watch cries in analog))

He pre-dates Pac-Man by a single month
Oh, well, maybe Mr Game-and-Watch is the actual principal, while Pac-Man is the vice-principal, though both give off "quirky/eccentric old man vibes." If you have any ideas on how I could differentiate them somehow, that would solve that issue.

OH no just a minor nitpick of mine. I hate incorrect facts. There's no real 'problem' with it, my smart-ass just couldn't resist correcting you. My bad

...Ah, what the hey. Why not. I put in my two cents, it's only right I participate.

Protagonist 'Joker' (Persona 5) - Student
Name:
Ren Amamiya
Age: 16
Appearance:
Ren Amamiya · AniList

Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight
Biggest Strength: The strength of his resolve
Biggest Weakness: ALSO His resolve, which has brought him much pain. He cannot keep his nose out of someone's suffering, which has led to more than a few complex situations.
Confidence: Very high. He does not care what people think about him, at all, aside from the fact that he wants people to think he's an unassuming high school student. Lives his life unshackled by the expectations of others.
Biggest Fear: Being unable to stop injustice
Roles: Pseudo-Delinquent, Quiet One, Mid-Class Sleeper
Species: Human
Personality: Seemingly quiet on the outside, beneath that is a regular young man with a strong sense of justice. He's not afraid to stand up against tyrants, and speak up for himself. Though people usually want nothing to do with him because of his criminal record, he takes it in stride thanks to his friends among the Phantom Thieves. He likes helping people whenever he can, and doing things his own way.

When he uses his 'Joker' identity, he is much more flashy and a bit of a showoff. He is aggressive towards his enemies, and taunts those who dare stand against justice.
Relationships: His friends at his other school (The Phantom Thieves), Sojiro Sakura.
Nickname(s): Joker
Backstory: He has done several things with the Phantom Thieves; taking down bigwigs with overlarge heads and such. Eventually, Ren heard of a corrupt individual at Console High, and he transferred there. The whole team would've transferred over, but several of the others have obligations. Ren offered to be the man on the inside, so here he is. He's accompanied only by Morgana, who can smell a Palace within the school.
Goal: To find the individual in the school who Morgana smelt the Palace of.
Fun Facts: None.
Console. That needed to be there, right?

Ok, I’m intrigued, big question. I want to bring the knight and Grimm from Hollow Knight in, but the knight doesn’t speak at all. How would that work?

Oh, they’d definitely be mute. Sign language is an option, or they’d just have really deep thoughts and monologues.

...Ah, what the hey. Why not. I put in my two cents, it's only right I participate.

That’s correct! While I haven’t come up with any real villains yet, I love the implication.

Also to clarify, he transferred to Console High right? That’s where the role play currently takes place. Otherwise, you’ve been accepted.

Name: The Knight
Age: 16
Appearance:
IMG_9371.jpeg

The Knight is small in size with a black body covered with a blue-ish charcoal cloak. Their head is white with two eye holes and two horns.

Gender: Ungendered
Sexuality: Asexual
Biggest Strength: The Knight’s biggest strength would have to be their ability with their nail and spells
Biggest Weakness: The lack of control over their shade and controlling the shade.
Confidence: The Knight has very high confidence, being silent means they can’t vocalize their opinions on other people. Which gives them a mental edge and means they don’t care.
Biggest Fear: Not being able to save everyone he has come to know during his time exploring the ruins of Hallownest.
Roles: Quiet One, Hardworker, Obedient One
Species: Bug
Personality: The Knight is often described as having a cold, analytic, and determined personality, driven by a strong sense of duty, though the exact nature of that duty is initially unclear
Relationships: Hornet, The Hollow Knight, Broken Vessel (Siblings), Quirrel (Friend), Zote (“Rival”)
Nickname(s): Vessel, Ghost
Backstory: The Knight, much like their other siblings, were born in the abyss through a union of The Pale King, and the White Lady. The pale king was trying to find a vessel to contain the ever present infection from the Radiance. The Knight was not the chosen vessel as it was unsuccessful during the ascent in the abyss. After some time passed, the knight escaped the birthplace and was on the outer lands of Hallownest, before coming back. As if it was called by the sealed vessel, The Hollow Knight.
Goal: To understand more of the shade and control it so it doesn’t get out of control at CONSOLE High
Fun Facts: The Knight actually has no name, Team Cherry just commonly refers to the nameless character as “The Knight” for simplicity.

I can definitely imagine that The Knight enrolled in Console High because there were classes on weaponry and combat. Also you forgot to add the word Console to your character sheet.

Thanks for the tag - been meaning to submit something substantial to this for a while now, but you could say my CONSOLE was keeping me busy! ('console' in this case being the high-powered gaming beast known as 'daily life')

Chai (Hi-Fi Rush) – Music Teacher

Name: Chai
Age: 26
Appearance: Sporty and vibrant, with colorful attire accented by a scarf, a casual jacket, and a perpetual smirk.

1743116539380.png

Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Biggest Strength: An infectious, almost foolish passion for music that tends to inspire everyone around him.

Biggest Weakness: Tends to get overly dramatic and too 'in the zone' when the beat drops—sometimes losing track of his surroundings or practical details. He also used to struggle with massive overconfidence issues, but less so these days.

Biggest Fear: That the magic of music and self-expression might fade away in a world drowning in noise and technology.

Roles: Artist, True Picasso, Chatterbox, Energetic One
Species: Human
Personality: Charismatic, energetic, and always ready to break into song; equal parts enthusiastic and caring, with a flair for the theatrical.
Relationships: Widely respected by his students and colleagues; known to have a friendly rivalry with anyone who doubts the power of a good tune.
Nickname(s): Maestro Chai, Chai-Fi, Rockstar

Backstory: Sometime after dropping out of college, Chai became interested in getting a robotic implant from Project Armstrong to replace his disabled right arm and to finally become a rockstar. An accident or two later, however, this resulted in the MP3 player becoming embedded in his new power core, giving him, in his own words, "musical robot powers" and allowing him to perceive the entire world around him as moving to a specific rhythm.

After being chased down as a 'defect', finding friends, overcoming his shortcomings and eventually toppling Vandelay, he became the ambassador for the new Project Armstrong within the company. A year into this new job, Chai was asked to spend some time teaching at Console High to foster stronger connections between Vandelay Technologies and the youth.

Deciding this would be an epic opportunity to test his new guitar skills, he accepted, taking 808 as his teaching assistant. These days, he spends his time passing on the lessons he's learned to the next generation - whenever he can pull his head out of the rhythm, that is.

Goal: To inspire his students to find their own voice and overcome their self-perceived shortcomings in a world where their value will constantly be under scrutiny.

Fun Facts:
  • Secretly collects vintage vinyl records.
  • Thanks to regular practice, he's gotten pretty good at guitar.
  • Has a habit of spontaneously bursting into song mid-lesson.

Species: Human
Personality: Outgoing, warm-hearted, and always eager to help; a natural leader who sees the best in everyone, though sometimes impulsively.

Nickname(s): Keyblade Kid, Sunny Sora

Backstory: Swept into a world-spanning adventure to save his friends, Sora’s life became a journey of discovery and protection without his choosing. Even so, his countless adventures have shaped him into a beacon of hope, and now he channels that energy into everyday school life at Console High, trying to reconnect with the normality of teenage life he'd been forced to leave behind long ago - while also wanting to learn more about the countless other worlds he hasn't visited yet!

Relationships: Enjoys a playful rivalry with Sora and forms strong bonds with friends who appreciate her offbeat outlook. Much like Sora, she finds herself very homesick and they often talk to each other about their respective communities to help alleviate the longing.
Nickname(s): Gravity Queen, The Katalyst

Backstory: Having started out as a lost girl with no memory, Kat quickly embraces a superhero role within the city of Hekseville as a gravity shifter. Her adventures eventually take her to the ends of the world, and even further to the ends of other worlds, where she, along with her friends, save countless lives from destruction at every turn, and eventually discover her true past.

Species: Human
Personality: Witty, adventurous, and a bit cocky; loves to tease his classmates but always has a heart of gold beneath the swagger.
Relationships: Known for friendly rivalries and constant banter with his peers; often exchanges playful jabs with both Sora and Kat, keeping the group on its toes. He also tends to make playful advances toward the latter.
Nickname(s): Ez, Lightfeather, Blondie

Backstory: Born with a natural flair for exploration and a penchant for daring escapades, Ezreal quickly earned a reputation as the school’s resident adventurer. At Console High, his insatiable curiosity drives him to uncover campus secrets—and occasionally stir up a little mischief along the way.

Biggest Strength: Unmatched confidence and a knack for unearthing hidden secrets (and trouble) wherever he goes.

Biggest Weakness: Overconfidence that sometimes leads to reckless decisions; his charm can occasionally be more style than substance.

Biggest Fear: Being overshadowed or forgotten in a world that constantly craves novelty.

Roles: Popular Student, Class Clown, Pseudo-Delinquent, Geek

Goal: To constantly push boundaries, discover hidden truths, and outshine his peers while having a blast doing it - at least, that's as much as he's willing to tell you.

Fun Facts:
  • Has an uncanny ability to find lost items on campus.
  • Frequently performs impromptu magic tricks.
  • Bets he could outrun the school bus.

These are all probably the most detailed character sheets that I’ve ever seen. All of your characters are absolutely accepted!

Are we doing a 'The (Blank Blank)' naming trend now? Rhythm did it, Marcel did it- let ME try it!
Gotta Sweep (Baldi's Basics) - Janitor

Name:
Gotta Sweep

Age: 36

Appearance:
Gotta Sweep Remastered | Fandom

Gender:
Male, apparently. Who knew.

Sexuality: Escobasexual

Biggest Strength: His sweeping power, he would say. His insane speed and loud voice, others would say.

Biggest Weakness: His inability to do anything but sweep. Tape him broom-end up to a wall and all his reason for living goes away.

Confidence: Very confident in his sweeping skills. Very un-confident in any skill that does not involve sweeping.

Biggest Fear: Losing his job, and his Brush Bristles Falling Out (Happens to the best of us, right?)

Roles: Loud One, Pain in the @$$,

Species: Broom-like being. Might actually just be a broom- who knows?

Personality: Gotta Sweep is passionate about his job, to the point of not really caring about much else. His dedication is admirable, but he is callous towards others, so he is considered a pest. He feels no animosity towards people who spill garbage, but rather is grateful towards them for giving him purpose.

Relationships: Being on speaking terms with Gotta Sweep is an achievement in and of itself, since he rarely discusses anything but his job. Students will often take advantage of his habit of sweeping everything in his way, and use him as a form of transportation. This is unreliable, though, and you're likely to end up on the wrong side of school.

Nickname(s): That Broom, Sweep, GS

Backstory: Gotta Sweep is a simple broom. He wants a quiet life full of sweeping, which was his intended purpose. Try as he might, though, the various places he swept at would always fire him for trivialities such as 'noise disturbances' and 'assault'. Eventually, Pacman hired him because he admired the broom's dedication.

Goal:
-To sweep every morsel of dust and garbage, ultimately using his unique talents to inspire others to see the beauty in keeping a tidy home.
-To constantly sweep, eliminate dust bunnies, and outshine the other brooms on the assembly line while having a blast doing it - at least, that's as much as anyone with common sense can tell.
-To eliminate and eradicate garbage, experience more of the sweep-able halls out there, and connect fallen trash with garbage cans - one broom at a time.

Fun Facts:
-
Has an extensive criminal record, mostly with assault, on account of causing injuries when sweeping people up. APPARENTLY doing your JOB is a CRIME now. The real crime is how expensive lawyers are.

-His biggest ambition is to get a gold-plated handle. Real classy.

-Sometimes, if the school bell is on the fritz, people will use Gotta Sweep's yelling as a way to tell when periods end and begin.

"Gotta sweep gotta sweep, gotta sweep sweep sweep
Gotta sweep gotta sweep, gotta sweep sweep sweep
Gotta sweep gotta sweep, gotta sweep sweep sweep
Gotta SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP
Gotta sweep sweep sweep"
Console

I debated with myself whether this guy actually counted as a game character but I figure- fan games are still games. Also I like cowboys, so heres this-

Clover (Undertale: Yellow) - Student/Hall Monitor
Name:
Clover

Age: 16

Appearance: 5'3

clover undertale yellow, can you believe it #undertale #undertaleyellow #digitalart #yeehaw #socool

Gender: Neutral

Sexuality: Pansexual

Biggest Strength: Their sharp eye, which catches even the smallest details! This eye also compliments their other greatest strength- their good aim with a gun!

Biggest Weakness: Their tendency to follow authority. Even if someone or something is wrong, they refuse to confront authority, instead undermining the authority in indirect ways.

Confidence: Decent. Once Clover has made a decision, they'll stick with it, so in that sense they're very confident. But socially, Clover's confidence is average.

Biggest Fear: Getting caught in conflicts, and then being unable to help solve them.

Roles: Hard Worker, Energetic One, Smart Student, Class Clown, Tattletale

Species: Human

Personality: A young person with a strong sense of justice and humor! They're bubbly, friendly, and generally well meaning! Clover can be a bit of a goofball sometimes, but will switch to a serious attitude when the mood calls for it. They care about the other people around them, and want everyone to have a good time- as long as they're following the rules! As a hall monitor, Clover can't let anyone break the school rules!

Which is all why they're Ren's buddy! Everyone needs a hall monitor to show them around!

Relationships: Clover and Ren are pairs in the 'buddy system', an initiative we're all familiar with; "New kid, meet this kid. They'll show you around." That sort of thing! Ren and Clover have connected on a deeper level, though, because they both have a strong sense of justice! Clover also has several other friends at school. Pretty much everyone knows them, and also simultaneously slightly dislikes them because they're such a stickler.

Nickname(s): Gun-Hat, Silver Star (After the hall monitor badge they wear), Deputy Short-Stack (Behind their back)

Backstory: Clover is a bit closed about their past, but the important thing to know is that they're separated from their family. Their family was very demanding and harsh, so Clover filed to civil courts for legal independence. They live on their own, and their schooling is funded by the government. Clover usually does not mention this fact to people, and just tells people who come over that their parents are out.

Goal: To make sure the rules are being followed at school, and to graduate comfortably and lead a happy life.

Fun Facts:
-
Clover is ambidextrous! They have a slight preference for their left hand, though.

-Clover likes cats quite a bit. That does not stop them from reminding their peers that they are not generally allowed on campus. Kat gets a pass because Clover believes Dusty is a service animal, and they haven't caught Ren with Morgana yet.

-Most people believe Clover's favorite color is yellow because of the bandanna they wear. The bandanna is actually just a cherished gift; their favorite color is neon green. The more you know!

-Clover has a fascination with guns. They'd NEVER pull one out at school though! That would be insensitive.

Edit: This post will also be the permanent home of Ren's bio, so everybody's all together. Of course, Gotta Sweep is a situational guy, so I'll pretty much only have these two. No more.

Protagonist 'Joker' (Persona 5) - Student
Name:
Ren Amamiya

Age: 16

Appearance:
Ren Amamiya · AniList

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Straight

Biggest Strength: The strength of his resolve

Biggest Weakness: ALSO His resolve, which has brought him much pain. He cannot keep his nose out of someone's suffering, which has led to more than a few complex situations.

Confidence: Very high. He does not care what people think about him, at all, aside from the fact that he wants people to think he's an unassuming high school student. Lives his life unshackled by the expectations of others.

Biggest Fear: Being unable to stop injustice

Roles: Pseudo-Delinquent, Quiet One, Mid-Class Sleeper, Daydreamer

At school, he doesn't really have any friends because of two reasons;
A) He's fairly new. Not 'just got in' new, but still new enough to be known as 'the new guy'.
B) His criminal record. It's general gossip at the school, and while Ren doesn't really care, other people do. People generally avoid him because of that.

Nickname(s): Joker

Backstory: He has done several things with the Phantom Thieves, a group he is the leader of, dedicated to making corrupt people pay for their sins. They do this by traveling to mind landscapes called 'Palaces', and manipulating it so that the owner of the 'landscape' will confess to their sins with their own mouth.

Fun Facts:
-
Ren can make insanely good coffee- and he smells like it all the time. It's a pass-time he enjoys.

-Ren will often visit the school bathrooms when he needs to think.

-Ren has a slight preference for older women. The idea of dating anybody two years younger than himself makes him uncomfortable.

I feel obligated to say CONSOLE here, just in case.

Gotta say, I wasn’t expecting Clover. Granted, I did have Sans and Papyrus here, so I guess it’s fair game. Between guns and hammers, I guess having weapons is just normal for an average student.

All of your characters are accepted! These profiles are detailed, and it’s cool to see so much variety in franchises.
