OOC this RP is meant to be an open ended open world expanding story, much like an MMORPG, which will change as various events occur such as the shifting balance of power affecting the scale of new events. Yes it is heavily inspired by A Song of Ice and Fire as well as Game of Thrones

Welcome to Aramoor, an ancient land steeped in mystery and constantly in turmoil. Since the dawn of time Aramoor has been ruled by great houses, only one ruler has ever united the 8 kingdoms, King Randall Aldun. Whose 500 year dynasty brought order and prosperity to the realm, the death of his last descendant King Ramsey Aldun-Pike left Aramoor with no rule king plunging the realm back to the near endless state of war.

Swearing where appropriate is fine but don’t over do it
Just for simplicity sake only one OC per Rper
PLEASE spell, capitalize, space, punctuate, and use grammar correctly throughout the RP. If your bio fails at that I can't accept you.
Make posts sufficiently long to give others enough to respond to. No one-liners.
Please maintain and respect the existing story that has been laid out by others

Westerlands: an area of practically infertile soils, but mineral rich mines, citizens of the Westerlands are described as being strong and loyal, relying on trade for most of their supplies apart from steel, gold and stone. They possess arguably the best equipped army in the realm but lacking the necessary food stores to properly support a large force. The capital of the Westerlands is SunStone
Out of all the lands of Aramoor, none was more difficult to conquer than Redrock. Protected by the great fleets of the Fisher King, Redrock withstood Randall Aldun's attempted invasion for many years, only falling once the combined might of the entire continent was brought against it. Even then, the island retained a degree of independence within Aramoor, the Fisher King was never truly deposed, just made a vassal of Aldun's. His dynasty still rules the island today.
Redrock is named for the deep reddish tint of its minerals, from inland rocks to the island's very beaches. This reddish tint hints to the island's deep mineral wealth, its iron content is second to none among the provinces. Burrowing Beastfolk in the interiors collect great amounts of iron in vast mines, which is traded to the coast in return for supplies.
In the coastal cities, the iron is refined into steel, and then either shaped into weapons and tools to remain in Redrock or loaded onto ships bound for the continent for trading. Redrock steel competes directly with Westerlands steel in the areas where their spheres overlap, though typically Redrock dominates the eastern half of the continent, and leaves the west to the Westerlands.
Redrock's fleet is second to none among the realms, in fact, one might say its livelihood depends on its boats. Merchant ships bring commerce while fishing boats secure food, all while the navy patrols the waters. Redrock privateers were feared all the way to the Shorelands, and with the last rightful king dead, these pirates may soon see their return. The navy allows the Fisher King to project his influence far, but it is just a navy, bound to the seas. The Fisher King is theoretically as powerful as the kings of old, but his influence only extends a few dozen miles from the shoreline.
Nowhere is this paradox more obvious than on Redrock itself. Coastal cities protected by the fleet give way to an inhospitable interior that only nominally pledges allegiance to their island's lord. The various beast races that call the island home are hardy and independently minded, and largely self-sufficient. Though they band together in times of strife, the various peoples of Redrock can be turned against each other should their needs be better served working for someone else. This, eventually, spelled the downfall of the island five centuries ago, for once Aldun broke through the fleet, the beasts of the island's interior were quick to submit to him rather than throw their lot in with their so called king.
While this threat remains ever present, the descendants of that old Fisher King have worked to consolidate the island under their control, and the fleet is as strong as ever. It appears that it may again take the continent united to bring Redrock to its knees.

The capital city of Redrock, the ancestral home of Holt Rudderdog, is the city of Riverwatch. Built on a river delta, Riverwatch is a city of canals, bridges, and islands of stone. Facing towards the rest of the continent across the sea, Riverwatch is a center of commerce and the brightest spot of civilization on Redrock. It also has the largest naval presence of all the Fisher King's cities, with the main contingent of the navy based there. Ships enter and leave port on an hourly basis, navigating by the light of a great lighthouse. In the center of it all stands the palace of the Fisher King, a grand structure that rivals any of those seen within the Crownlands.
Harvest: the main measure of time in Aramoor, same as an IRL year
It is said that there are as many beast races as there are animals. Despite this, they make up an almost invisible minority of the population of Aramoor. They cluster, instead, on Redrock, where they make up a majority of the population. Though a few humans can be found in its coastal cities, the interior of the island is entirely Beastfolk land. Though nominally subservient to the Fisher King, the various internal lords of Redrock mainly tend to their own affairs without the reaching paw of the otters to guide them.
It is common for Beastfolk rulers to take many spouses, rare is the lord or lady who maintain only one relationship. Marriage alliances are common ways for the various lords to band together. Especially common are marriages between different species, where there is no risk of children to grant a fiefdom claim on one of their neighbors. Instead, the lords and ladies of Redrock usually marry a member of their species from within their own lands to provide heirs, ensuring that the land stays within the family. This strategy is employed by all of the ruling class, from the Fisher King himself down to the pettiest of barons. Because of this, there is no shame seen in marrying someone of lower social standing among the Beastfolk./SPOILER]

Backstory: The first born son of the politically legendary and power hungry Lord Aldrian Goldstone, Marlik grew up surrounded by immeasurable luxury and wealth. His father hiring the very best swords trainers and warriors to train his son, hoping to instill a sense of discipline in his son though Malrik was always a wild child, seemingly immune to his father's attempts to use him as a political pawn, leading to the near constant threat of losing his right to inherit Sunstone. For his 16th Nameday Marlik was presented with an ancestral sword Nobles Pride which had once belonged to his great great grandfather the only Goldstone to ever journey across all 8 of the kingdoms, dualling the best warriors he met along the way. Most boys would be honoured to possess such a weapon but Marlik found its 40’ blade too unwieldy and immediately broke the guard and hilt off having its ancient blade reforged into that of his own sword Wildcat and the remaining metal forged into a small dagger to bear the Noble’s Pride name while having the rather obsessive gold fittings broken down and mixed with the silver of his prince-crown, and cloak fittings. This understandably infuriated his father who exiled him to the ancient castle of IronStone for years, swearing he would be executed should he ever set foot in Sunstone while his father ruled. Luckily for Marlik his father died only 5 harvests later, and his brother welcomed him back to the capital to serve as his closest advisor and most valuable friend, Marlik was of marrying age now and War was coming.
