Diamond and Pearl Flaw

In Diamond I caught a male Wurmple and since it was a male I figured I was getting a Cascoon,but instead I got a male Silcoon.Isn't that impossible!?
I know Cascoon/Dustox are exclusive to Pearl,but that is kind of messed up.It changes the whole evolution rule for Wurmple.

I believe that the evolution of Wurmple is absolutely random. Therefore, it could have been either Silcoon or Cascoon. It might depend on its IVs, but I'm not going to get into that.

yeah, the evolution isn't based on gender, most likely some hidden reason like sp attack/sp defense IVs...

Wurmple evolving has nothing to do with gender, you can have female Dustox and male Beautifly. And Cascoon/Dustox being exclusive to Pearl means they're found in the wild, Silcoon/Beautifly are not in the wild, but that doesn't mean you can't have Wurmple evolve into a Silcoon.

So, yeah, there is no glitch.
