All aboard the SS Vitae! What started out as a peaceful vacation cruise for the crew and passengers quickly took a turn for the worst when they found a passenger in their room, dead in bed. The cheerful and lovey-dovey atmosphere quickly goes sour as the passengers and crew must now play a game of Who Dun' It with innocent lives at stake! Who could it be? Why would this happen? How will things unfold on the SS Vitae?

Welcome to the RP Discussion Thread for "Murder on the SS Vitae - A Gijinka Mystery RP"~! Glad to have ya here with us. If you plan on boarding, then there are some rules you must follow:

Spoiler: Rules

1. I shouldn't have to say this, but please follow all of the PokeCharms RP Rules. I don't want this getting shut down by Stellar. Please be smart and follow the rules.
2. This is a murder mystery, but don't go too dark. Things won't get too dark, too gorey, etc. I mean, I would love to think we're all mature, but we may not be. There might be an RP'er or two who isn't comfortable with that, so we'll respect that.
3. The above also applies for swearing.
4. The above also applies for romance.
5. You are a gijinka. If you aren't familiar with the term, then please look it up. Also, don't make yourself overpowered.
6. Posts must be at least a paragraph long, meaning 5 or 6 sentences. Even if it's just dialogue, you can give a run-down as to how the character is feeling, what's in their head and such.

After reading the rules, you can then apply for your ticket! Of course, some information needs to be filled out so we get the ticket to the right person. Keep in mind that there is a limit as to how many people we can have on the ship...

Appearance: Vega is a tall kid (5' 9") that has straight white hair that runs down to his shoulders. His eyes are different in the sense that the sclera, iris, and pupils are replaced by a blue honeycomb pattern (like compound eyes). He doesn't really care much about his apparel, normally wearing a black sleeveless shirt, cobalt blue sweatpants, and his favorite silver sunglasses which he wears to hide his eyes. His shirts have tears in the back because of his pair of large, blue, semi-transparent dragonfly wings. He chooses not to wear shoes, which may bug some people (no pun intended), but he doesn't honestly care. It's his choice. Sometimes, he'll wear some marble-patterned sandals, but that is very rare.
Personality: Hasty wouldn't even begin to cover Vega's mindset. His mouth reacts faster than his mind does most of the time, and his body reacts at a similar speed. He is prone to clumsiness and what looks to be general stupidity, but he's actually not a dumb kid. When it comes to socializing, he's good enough to keep conversations rolling, but bring up romance and BAM, he can't do anything. He isn't against the Festival of Two Hearts, but - this is something he refuses to admit to anyone - the concept of a love or romance-based holiday makes him quite nervous. When nervous, Vega has a habit to be even less thoughtful of his words and actions, becoming more and more impulsive as his thought speed decreases.

Appearance: Kagami is a much-shorter-than-usual (standing at around 4'11"), auburn-haired gijinka. Her eyes are a piercing green color that greatly stand out from her darker skin tone, and her hair is almost always done up in a messy bun. She usually wears a white sweatshirt that reads 'TOKYO', faded grey jeggings, UGGs, and a grin on her plump lips. Seven fluffy tails poke out of her behind and two large ears poke out of her head.
Personality: Surprisingly loud, very clumsy and awkward in every way possible, Kit-Kat is comfortable around everybody she sees (for the most part). Even though she's not the smartest when her fire-breathing ability is involved, she would use it any time she could if it meant protecting herself or someone else. She’s excited to see what this cruise ship has to offer and is even more psyched to spend a week with her favorite guy~.

He wears a red shirt with black, bold text reading: I'M RETARDED, with an arrow pointed upwards, he also wears blackish jeans, and black shoes, along with a necklace with two symbols, a fire, and a cross, although he usually wears it inside his shirt. His red ears are visible though his hair, a red tail pokes out of his jeans, and sometimes, his fingernails grow, making a claw-ish shape.
Personality: To put it simple, Nova is an A**h***! He is greedy, mischievous, and takes advantage of others for his own good, like any other Fox... He is also pretty smart, able to work around most automobiles and remote objects.

She has a belly button piercing that is constantly on show due to her usual “outfit” of a crop top that ties around her neck and shows off her back. If it’s cold, she’ll wear a sweater or jean jacket over that.

Gijinka: Indochinese Tiger
Appearance: With a head of messy marmalade-orange hair, Zav is a pale boi with a muscular build. His complexion is quite clear, letting his golden-yellow eyes shine bright through his thin eyes. They're not the only things that stand out, however- his nose is slightly larger than the average human's, too, and it's quite flat against his handsome face. Popping out of his fur-like hair atop his head are two average-sized tiger ears, and a similar tail pokes out of his lower back, just over his bottom. All three of this distinct traits are the same orange hue. Also, his teeth are fairly sharp, especially his "fangs".
Personality: Zav really is a sweet guy with a big heart and a matching smile focused towards mostly everyone, so long as you don't threaten his friends or family. He's fairly intelligent, too, and is quick to act, no matter the situation. With a love for hanging out with those close to him, this tiger is also super pumped for the cruise and wonders how many new people he'll meet on the way~!

His left ear has two stud earrings, one near the middle of the ear and one towards the end. He also has strong legs and a lean musculature, making him a quick runner and giving him a tallish stature at around 5'8 (not including his ears, which are about eleven inches long on their own). He wears stonewashed black skinny jeans, a dark crimson shirt with a low neck and short sleeves, and a black, zip-up hoodie.
Personality: He is very polite, sociable, and overall charismatic to those he likes and/or sees as a potential friend, but tends to instinctively not stick around if he senses trouble. He tends to dislike those who are intimidating or generally unpleasant to him, and his charm can quickly turn into snark and fast-talk when faced with someone he doesn't like or perceives as a threat (when backed into a corner or from a safe distance, of course), which, depending on the situation, can often make it worse. He's clever and thinks well under pressure, but when things don't seem to be in his favor, he'll sooner walk away or flee than take risks or put himself in danger.

Name: Valeriya Adantino (Val for short)
Age: 17

Appearance: Fair and fragile are excellent words to describe Val. With porcelain skin and brilliant green eyes, this doll-like girl is dwarfed by her gijinka characteristics. Her favourite off-shoulder shirt is often thrown on over a black tank top, and black skinny jeans. To avoid cutting holes in any of them, her tank top dips low below her shoulder blades, and the shirt is similarly dragged down by her massive wings. This often means her back is partially exposed, from the nape of her neck to where her wings stem. The undue exposure of skin makes Val rather uncomfortable, but so far she hasn't done anything about it. Due to her outdoor tendencies, she also wears knee-length boots, black as is the norm. Her jet black hair is often left open, and she finds combing it incredibly soothing. It falls in natural waves just above her hip, and bangs fringe her heart-shaped face, complimenting said green eyes very well. She wears a plain black choker around her neck, to accompany the various plumes of feathers. First off, she has a couple of long, straight feathers emerging from the curve of her scalp, on either side of her head. These are flight stabilizers, helping her to fine-tune her flying, and she can typically go pretty fast when the feathers are out and in use. They're usually hidden by her hair, lying flat along her back and protectively shielded by her wings. Said wings themselves are massive, muscular and a somewhat jarring contrast to Val's image of fragility. Sporting the typical dualchrome of condor wings, the feathery appendages bend thrice; once downwards from the shoulder, upwards at the 'elbow' joint, and finally downwards where they lightly brush the floor behind the teenager. The resultant is an impressive wingspan of roughly 19 feet from tip to tip, as opposed to Val herself, standing at a mere 5'4. Lastly, a broad fan of feathers emerge from the base of her spine - the characteristic tail feathers of most avian species. The tail rests rather forcefully against the floor, curling due to their length. Among all her feathers, the flight stabilizers are easily the most fragile, and a strong grip would be enough to shatter them. Val is also made for long, steady flights rather than speed, and her wings are strong; stronger than what she would need to fly. Besides knocking things over by accident, she can also strike out with her wings, hard enough to bruise most people. Her feet are partially curled into talons, but due to a unique, many-jointed bone structure, she can keep them flat like a human. Like most birds, her feet curl into a tight grip when relaxed, and she needs to consciously keep them open for when she's walking. Her toes have sharpened claw-like extensions, and she has a small dew claw above her heel, but besides that they're more human than bird. Killer on the socks, though.
Personality: Wayward, thoughtful, but absent-minded may be some better ways to describe Valeriya. Her mind is typically all over the place, and her common discussions are just as scattered and non-linear and they travel with her train of thought. This causes her to hold curiosity in a wide variety of things, most of which pop into her head on a whim. While her mind may be like this, her mood typically doesn't change from a few scattered emotions. Her default feeling is that of quiet calmness, but she's very impacted by stress and has been known to snap at others when met with a situation she wasn't prepared for or has found she can't handle. She's the type of person who needs to be prepared and study a situation, so sudden, unexpected or chaotic occurrences that catch her off guard make her fall back into a mental haze and regress into more irate and hostile tenancies.
She's almost an open book through her expressions and this makes her a horrid liar. She's an escapist and when met with a situation she can't handle and the resulting frustration because of it, it's not uncommon for her to seclude herself to be alone for a while, throw on some headphones and just blast music to escape the weight of the world or any sort of daunting task for a while. She also loves to go for walks late at night and admire the stars and get away from life for a while. She's also prone to obsessive behaviors. When met with a certain task or question, she'll stop at nothing in order to understand it using whatever it takes.
She conducts herself in an intellectual mannerism and usually makes note of the mannerisms of everything around her in order to better understand the situation. While she herself is easily read, so too does she easily read people. She's often one of the first people to recognize when others are worried about something, avoiding a subject, or have something else on their mind. These small observations also help her be aware of when someone's actions contradict their words, although she never assumes that they're lying as a result since their body may be unconsciously meaning something else. Because she traveled so frequently in her life, she was rarely around peers her own age in order to learn proper social skills. As a result, she's awkward in conversation, and despite her best efforts, it's not something she's particularly good at. An academic discussion or debate can get her talking for hours... small talk on the other hand, not so much. She's an excellent mediator, though, as she always speaks her mind toward others and doesn't lie for the sake of sparing feelings. She was taught to be direct and to-the-point, so that's exactly what she does. If she notices her words create offense or negative reactions, whether shown by facial expressions or words in kind, she'll at least try to avoid bringing up the subject in the future but she won't take back what was said.
If she had a moral compass, it would rest on neutral. She takes moral actions that she believes is right at the time despite what the majority may feel. This means she's very open to mistakes and her current feelings and frame of mind influence her moral decisions. Her sense of humor consists of terrible puns, references to things that mostly go over other's heads, and dry, sarcastic wit.

Note: All the travelling and outdoor tendencies mentioned are Val's sheer (somewhat childish) love for flying. She'd rather spend her day weaving among clouds rather than with both feet firmly on the ground and actually socializing.
Also note: She will hate you forever if you step on her feathers. Okay, maybe not forever... but try not to.

They're usually hidden by her hair, lying flat along her back and protectively shielded by her wings. Said wings themselves are massive, muscular and a somewhat jarring contrast to Val's image of fragility. Sporting the typical dualchrome of condor wings, the feathery appendages bend thrice; once downwards from the shoulder, upwards at the 'elbow' joint, and finally downwards there they lightly brush the floor behind the teenager. The resultant is an impressive wingspan of roughly 19 feet from tip to tip, as opposed to Val herself, standing at a mere 5'4. Lastly, a broad fan of feathers emerge from the base of spine - the characteristic tail feathers of most avian species. The tail rests rather forcefully against the floor, curling due to their length. Among all her feathers, the flight stabilizers are easily the most fragile, and a strong grip would be enough to shatter them. Val is also made for long, steady flights rather than speed, and her wings are strong; stronger than what she would need to fly. Besides knocking things over by accident, she can also strike out with her wings, hard enough to bruise most people. Her feet are partially curled into talons, but due to a unique, many-jointed bone structure, she can keep them flat like a human. Like most birds, her feet curl into a tight grip when relaxed, and she needs to consciously keep them open for when she's walking. Her toes have sharpened claw-like extensions, and she has a small dew claw above her heel, but besides that they're more human than bird. Killer on the socks, though.
Personality: Wayward, thoughtful, but absent-minded may be some better ways to describe Valeriya. Her mind is typically all over the place, and her common discussions are just as scattered and non-linear and they travel with her train of thought. This causes her to hold curiosity in a wide variety of things, most of which pop into her head on a whim. While her mind may be like this, her mood typically doesn't change from a few scattered emotions. Her default feeling is that of quiet calmness, but she's very impacted by stress and has been known to snap at others when met with a situation she wasn't prepared for or has found she can't handle. She's the type of person who needs to be prepared and study a situation, so sudden, unexpected or chaotic occurrences that catch her off guard make her fall back into a mental haze and regress into more irate and hostile tenancies.
She's almost an open book through her expressions and this makes her a horrid liar. She's an escapist and when met with a situation she can't handle and the resulting frustration because of it, it's not uncommon for her to seclude herself to be alone for a while, throw on some headphones and just blast music to escape the weight of the world or any sort of daunting task for a while. She also loves to go for walks late at night and admire the stars and get away from life for a while. She's also prone to obsessive behaviors. When met with a certain task or question, she'll stop at nothing in order to understand it using whatever it takes.
She conducts herself in an intellectual mannerism and usually makes note of the mannerisms of everything around her in order to better understand the situation. While she herself is easily read, so too does she easily read people. She's often one of the first people to recognize when others are worried about something, avoiding a subject, or have something else on their mind. These small observations also help her be aware of when someone's actions contradict their words, although she never assumes that they're lying as a result since their body may be unconsciously meaning something else. Because she traveled so frequently in her life, she was rarely around peers her own age in order to learn proper social skills. As a result, she's awkward in conversation, and despite her best efforts, it's not something she's particularly good at. An academic discussion or debate can get her talking for hours... small talk on the other hand, not so much. She's an excellent mediator, though, as she always speaks her mind toward others and doesn't lie for the sake of sparing feelings. She was taught to be direct and to-the-point, so that's exactly what she does. If she notices her words create offense or negative reactions, whether shown by facial expressions or words in kind, she'll at least try to avoid bringing up the subject in the future but she won't take back what was said.
If she had a moral compass, it would rest on neutral. She takes moral actions that she believes is right at the time despite what the majority may feel. This means she's very open to mistakes and her current feelings and frame of mind influence her moral decisions. Her sense of humor consists of terrible puns, references to things that mostly go over other's heads, and dry, sarcastic wit.

Note: All the travelling and outdoor tendencies mentioned are Val's sheer (somewhat childish) love for flying. She'd rather spend her day weaving among clouds rather than with both feet firmly on the ground and actually socializing.
Also note: She will hate you forever if you step on her feathers. Okay, maybe not forever... but try not to.

He has a pair of long and hollow fangs full of venom that can fold into the roof of his mouth like many real snakes. For the most part they are kept hidden away but he has habit of folding them in and out when he is bored. His has slightly angular cheekbones but is still reasonably attractive, if you can get past his reptilian traits. Speaking of which he also has pits in his mouth that give him the heat sensitive vision that some snakes posses. Up his back and neck are a set of dark brown scales that lead to a meter long tail that protrudes from his spine. He almost always wears hoodies with the hood up (You know, to make it look like a cobra's hood eh?) paired with denim jeans and high top trainers.
Personality: Practical, level headed and soft spoken would be perhaps the best way to describe Regulus. He is easy to get along with and hard to anger, making him a good guy to hang out with. That being said he enjoys being alone, it just means he can be left to his own thoughts.
