Fifty years ago humans discovered faster than light travel. Since then the North American Commonwealth (NAC) and the Sexu-Russo Alliance (SRA) started to colonize planets. Instead of bringing the two factions together it tore them apart leading to many skirmishes either off world or earth bound. That was until they showed up.
On a routine mission the NAC Versailles was ambushed killing nearly two thirds of it's crew stranding them on their colony planet Paradise. The attacker ten foot grey skinned somewhat feathered blind aliens started to recolonize Paradise for their own purposes. Since then the Lankies as they would be called pushed threw both NAC and SRA fleets like they were nothing. Now five years later the Lankies have control over Mars and the NAC higher ups abandoned their people for dead.
Now what's left of the NAC military and government struggle to come up with an offensive strike. Rumors have it that a small fleet of ships that could stand up against the Lankies. With the approval of the remaining military command with assistance from the SRA a strike force searches for the code name Black fleet.
