Hello there! The following is an 18+ roleplay due to graphic horror, strong language and the potential for some heavy topics, however it will not contain explicit sexual content. Please proceed with caution.

At one time, you were a trainer like any other. You had your pokemon, your friends, your family... When it all started, you had no intention of giving it all up. How did you end up here anyway? There was a letter had delivered to you by an oddly quiet scientist, offering you a large sum of money for participating in a research study. Whatever your reasons, you decided to take up the offer, sign the consent form and make your way to the Sinnoh region. You find the hidden path, and follow it to a strange lake in the middle of the woods. As you consider descending the cliffs, something attacks you from behind, knocking you out before you have time to fight back. You wake up in a plain room, plain white without any apparent doors. Some kind of trick room, a psychic barrier keeping you from seeing the truth. After some time, though, they come for you. Your pokemon are gone, along with your personal items. There is little you can do as they lead you through twisting, sterile corridors, to a strange room that seems like some kind of like a mix between a small lab and a doctors office. They take a swab of your cheek, nearly causing you to gag, and tell you that you'll be involved in an experiment to create what are known as "Gijinka", or pokemon and human hybrids. The science is solid, using induced pluripotent stem cells and CRISPR/CAS genetic engineering to be able to mutate your genome, allowing you to become a creature of incredible power. Being among the first tests, though, its not guaranteed to be a painless, simple process. Plenty can go wrong, there's no guarantee that what they expect will happen. Will you be able to survive and escape the compound, or will you become a slave in their quest for power? Even if you make it out, could such a freak truly survive in the real world?
To summarize the topic of this roleplay in a few words, it is a genetically engineered Gijinka roleplay in which the experimentation tends to go terribly wrong for the subjects.
To be more descript, your character is a trainer who, for whatever reason, decides to take up a strange offer to participate in some kind of incredibly vague clinical research that promises a large sum of money. Showing up on the Spring Path in the Sinnoh region, they end up being kidnapped and locked up, to become partipants in genetic engineering research aimed to merge the genes of humans and pokemon into a creature with far more power than either species alone, called a Gijinka. The process is relatively simple, starting with your character giving a cheek swab sample upon arrival, and then (at the start of the roleplay) receiving an injection around the collar bone. This begins the process of transforming their body, which can take anywhere from hours to weeks to complete part or all of it. As may be expected, this process is not perfect, and it is more than likely that plenty will go wrong. For example (and you are free to use these when designing your character):
Setting:
As previously stated, the roleplay begins with the characters receiving their injection, and starting the process of their transformation. During this process, all characters stay in a large, biosphere like structure, with a decently sized lake, a small forest with plenty of berry trees, about 10 feet of soil (beneath which is a thick metal plate), a small, artificial volcanic zone with something like a fountain of lava, and even some artificial weather. Around the biosphere is a strong Trick Room, making impossible for even a rather strong Gijinka to reach the steel walls of the enclosure. Here they are free to act as they choose, although any (caught) attempts at escape or killing another subject will result in them being removed and placed in solitary confinement and likely receiving some form of "corrective action" before they are released back into the biosphere.
Rules:
I have a few personal requests, beyond typical site rules. First, although this is an 18+ roleplay, I won't tolerate any sexual relations in the RP proper. If you want to imply something happened, that's between you and the owner of the other character, and anything extra can be taken elsewhere. Second, although this roleplay is intended to be pretty hefty on body horror, I would appreciate if you could put fore warnings on posts that are especially heavy on this aspect with a little summary of what to expect, in case any of the content following crosses a certain line for some people, and especially if it starts to fall into territory that some would consider to be mildly sexual. I know this may seem a bit excessive for a roleplay that specifically falls into the horror category, but I want the most people possible to be able to enjoy this, even if their tolerance for horror or gore has different boundaries than others. For example, while I'm comfortable with intense descriptions of gore, anything that falls into a puppet-like territory is too much for me, however someone else might feel the exact opposite. Lastly I ask that you be self-accountable. If something comes up and you can't participate for a while or drop the roleplay completely, please let us know so that no one's character is left hanging in the middle of an interaction. This also means that I am not setting a character limit, however I recommend only starting with one or maybe two characters until you get into the swing of things and develop a better idea of what you can handle without letting any characters fall to the side. Finally, this means that, although characters in the roleplay are intended to be rather powerful, I'm trusting you to not to make your character obscenely powerful and staying within realistic limits. Yes, this means you can only be one type of pokemon, and that pokemon cannot be legendary or mythical. This also mean you can't possibly know every move possible for your pokemon, learn moves outside of your pokemon type, nor start out at an obscenely high level.

- An electric type may accidentally zap themselves or electrify things around them.
- A bird pokemon may grow wings that are too big or heavy for them, and/or have to deal with their bones being hollowed out.
- A psychic pokemon may be unable to control their mind reading/telekinesis/future sight/etc.
- A steel type may have their skin turn to actual steel
