Help.

OK. I will admit something right now. I never have beaten the elite 4 on any PKMN game. The closest I have came is the third member in Fire Red! So I need help. I want to be a winning player. So i think when platnuim comes out, I will win with that. I have every Handheld RPG besides Sapphire, Red, Gold, Blue, and Silver. But then I was thinking... How can i, the worst PKMN player ever, become one of top 100 players (My personal Goal) Honestly, I have never beat any video game. I think with help from you guys, my friends, and some events, I can do it. So is anyone going to help me?

I have an Event Mew on my Ruby, what do i do with it. ( Ruby is the only game I have a file on right now, only until I get rid of the mew. I was at gamestop last week, and the guy told me to wait to platinum Comes out if I want to have a chance of making it to the top. so what are your thoughts on it. Wait to platnuim or use diamond and pearl?

I may camp out at nintendo world march 21st to march 22nd to get platinum, if I hear alot of people are doing it. ( I would be lonly if it was only me) I am going to the Shaymin and Regigias events, and Need you to help me.

BTW I was wondering, 1. What starter is the best for someone like me? 2. is this stupd, or am I just crazy, I don't really like any sinoh starters, could I just get an untouched Todile, Charmander, and Chickrita and train them as my starter? 3. Can someone give me a list of official PKMN tournament Illigal Ubers?

What would really help is if we had a team. What team are you currently using to try to beat the Elite 4. Most of the time, movesets and levels are the primary reasons why you can't win. If you give us some of those we can help you more.

Well just remember that Haunter needs to evolve to Gengar by trading, not by leveling.

Do you have any other Pokemon on your team? And what levels are your current guys at? If you don't have any other Pokemon on your team yet, I would suggest picking Pokemon to specialize at taking out certain Elite 4 members (ex. Blastoise with Ice Beam could take care of Lance).

Do you have a team in mind for Platinum? If not, then I guess I could give you a few suggestions. What starter do you plan to start out with? It makes a big difference in how the rest of your team should be shaped. I personally would go Infernape because he's a bit hard to replace and Rapidash is really a joke, but it's up to you really.

Thats it for the starters.

Like I said, the best starter for you might be Chimchar, although the first gym might be a bit difficult he ends up being the best fighter all-around. And it's either him or Ponyta, and you NEED a fire type in Sinnoh. Next would be Turtwig, only because you can find water types all over Sinnoh and I'm not a big fan of Empoleon.

In order to get one of those you would need to beat Roark first and then go to Jubilife and request three on the GTS. I'm pretty sure you could. If I had Wi-Fi I might be able to help but as of now I do not.

Three I'm not so sure on. I'll leave that for someone else to answer.

All in all an actually team would actually be helpful so we can help you with your game. Well you can only really train the starter you originally get in your game. You can't get any of the Johto starters in Firered. You can only get them in Emerald, not sure about Ruby and Sapphire, when you complete the Hoenn pokedex. Even then you have to get the Red and Blue Orbs(or it's Ruby and Sapphire, not sure) in your Firered to trade between those games. You can't use any of the other starters due to the fact that you can't upload them from the other games until you beat the elite four and get the national pokedex in your game.

One last thing, if you do post a team, post it in the Doctor's Clinic thread, and members of the site will help you with your team.

Not to knock Chimchar, (I love my Infernape,) but there are a few more options in Platinum as far as Fire types go. You can now get an Eevee from Bebe in Hearthome when you first get there, Magmar at Fuego Iron Works, and Houndour at Route 214 or Valor Lakefront.

Infernape is still a very good choice, but I think it's nice to weigh all the options.
