"You know what I'd love to do today?" a teen asked her Pokemon partner while they walked down the sidewalk of the largest city in this new region. "I'd love to go see that tower that lady at the airport told us about! Do you want to go after this, Orion?"
The Ghost-type was unable to respond by using his pen and paper, so he merely nodded. "Sab," he said, shifting the weight he was bearing to a different spot of him lanky arm.
The human and Sableye duo had just arrived at the Kalos region last last night, having flown here for a few days from Kanto. It had to have been around midnight when they landed, so the first thing they wanted to do when they got off the plane was find a hotel nearby and sleep the rest of the night. That was exactly what they did, but the two wound up sleeping a bit longer than planned. The hotel was very temporary, and once they had awoken and headed out for a bite to eat, they spotted a home that was for sale near the outskirts of Lumiose City. Without a second thought, Ambrosia Kalis bought the small, one-story home. Now, she and her Sableye helper were just coming back from a trip to the supermarket, load of food in hand.
It took around fifteen minutes to finally arrive back at their house, but the trip didn't seem so extensive to Ambrosia, and she unlocked her front door with a smile on her face. "Alright, that's step one! Step two is now putting all the food away, and then we can eat! Maybe we could find a spot outside?" she thought out loud, unloading the many bags of groceries onto the kitchen counter.
Orion followed suit, dumping his bags onto the floor and promptly grabbing his pen and notebook from a side-bag, one that he kept with him everywhere he went. On the nearly-filled first page, he wrote his response, holding up the pad for his Trainer to read. Sounds like a plan, it said, and Orion smiled lightly.
Ambrosia copied her Sableye's smile. "Alright! Let's get this party started, then!" With a clap of her hands, she and Orion got to work on putting the groceries in their specified cabinets and other locations, the pen and notebook back in Orion's own bag.
Once that was taken care of, Ambrosia grabbed her salad, Orion, his own food, and the two headed out the front door once again, spotting a bench near the downtown Lumiose area. They decided to park here, and they sat and ate their meals in peace.
The sudden sounds of battle caught Orion's attention before Ambrosia's, and he placed his bowl down, stood up from his seat, and looked back to his Trainer, silently asking if he could go check them out. Once she nodded, the Sableye was off, bolting through the streets until the sources of the sounds came into view. Something involving a Froakie and a Wigglytuff seemed to be going on. Having never seen a Froakie before, Orion's gem eyes grew wide, and he stepped closer to the battle. The Wigglytuff seemed to be attempting to get over to the Froakie, but the humans and other Pokemon wouldn't allow it. A bit confused, Orion stayed in his spot, merely watching this scene play out.
Ambrosia found her Sableye, having rushed back into the house to drop off the remainders of lunch, and she quickly speed-walked over to him. "Orion, what's happening?" she asked him, only to get a shrug and point in response. The young woman looked the way her partner had pointed, and her own face contorted into a confused expression at the sight. Without much thought, she marched over to the group, arms crossed. "Hey!" she yelled in an attempt to get their attention, "what the heck is going on here!?"
Orion headed after his Trainer, standing next to her with his head tilted.
