Quoted from an IGN article:
June 29, 2005 - Ubisoft has revealed that it will publish Lunar: Dragon Song for the Nintendo DS, an dual-screen exclusive sequel to the Lunar series that's spanned multiple systems including the Sega CD, PlayStation, Saturn, even on the Game Boy Advance in a portable remake of the popular Lunar: Silver Star Story.. Lunar: Dragon Song will be the first original Lunar sequel in a decade.
Lunar: Dragon Song takes place a thousand years before the events that unfolded in Lunar: The Silver Star. Here, players control Jian and his group of friends Gabryel, Lucia, Flora, and Rufus battling invading demons, all the while unfolding the twisting plot of the adventure.
The game, developed by Japan Art Media in conjunction with GameArts, will be the first official fantasy RPG to hit the Nintendo DS in the US. The game will feature a series of new mechanics to the familiar genre, including a Light & Dark system that require players to transform dark enemies into beings of light in order to defeat them. A Battle Card system is also in place, where players collect cards of specific power and enhance their party members with their abilities.
Lunar: Dragon Song will support both the Nintendo DS system's wireless capabilities as well as its microphone function during the gameplay. Using wireless, players will be able to share rare and unique items with other players in their own games. With the microphone, players can command specific situations by giving orders directly into the built-in mike.
Ubisoft expects to ship Lunar: Dragon Song this September. Hit the media link below to check out the first US screenshots of the Nintendo DS adventure in action.
