I started watching Naruto about a few weeks ago, and got totally hooked. So here I am. Stuck without a Naruto roleplay. Poof, magical, time for a new roleplay then, kids!

This is essentially just gonna be the whole ninja-training gig, from Genin to Chunin and so on, whatever. This is after the original series, so there isn’t anyone from Naruto, Shippuden, or Boruto here. I think. Not sure how this is going to work out, but I’m dying for a Naruto roleplay...

At the beginning, all characters will be just beginning their Genin training, fresh out of the academy. Then as the story progresses (if it progresses Xd) I’ll make stuff up as I go along. Basically the same arcs as the original series: Genin training, then Chunin exams, so on and so forth.

Anyways. Here goes nothing.

Theoretically, there are actually around ten squads, each led by a Jonin, but like in the original series, the story will focus on a few key squads. These squads will be comprised of whoever the heck joins. The senseis will be NPCs that can be controlled and/or made by anyone in the squad.

Appearance: Short black hair tied back into a ponytail reminiscent of Shikamaru’s, sightless grey eyes, small, slight, and pale, but not malnourished; all her weight is muscle and bone. She wears black body tights under a gray top and shorts, as well as a darker gray sash with a navy belt. Her ninja sandals are also navy, and her Genin headband is proudly around her neck.
Personality: Calm and withdrawn. Can be quite antisocial. Protective of her friends, but not to the point of idiocy. Prefers to calmly assess a situation before jumping into a fight, and always tried to have a strategy in mind before fighting. Not the best at split-second decisions, but her reaction time is incredible. Due to her blindness, her hearing has been intensified due to rigorus training, to the point where she can hear a butterfly bat its wings from a hundred feet away, throw a kunai without looking, and pin it to a tree without killing it. Her taijutsu needs work, but her ninjutsu is quite adept. Can’t use genjutsu worth jack squat, but since she’s blind, the only genjutsu that really affects her is audible. Skilled at redirecting attacks with her sai.
Weapon of Choice: Blue metal sai, though she carries kunai and small shuriken in a pouch on her leg like most ninja

-Lightning Style: Lightning Ball Jutsu (makes a ball of electric chakra focused through her sai, then releases it in a ball of lightning.)
-Lightning Style: Lightning Reflection Jutsu (Kaori’s own creation, reflects lightning from a storm, through her sai, and redirects towards a target. Can be used with chakra instead of lighting, but takes a lot out of her when done.)
-Lightning Style: Lightning Dragon Jutsu (a work in progress, the finished product should be a dragon made entirely out of chakra and/or real lightning controlled by the user for a brief period of time.)
Background: Kaori had her life made. Great family, great friends, great life in general. Top of every class when she started at the academy. But one day, her house was ransacked by rogue ninja, both parents killed, and both her and her older brother were wounded terribly. She was blinded, and her brother suffers from debilitating headaches. But despite her blindness, Kaori would not give up the path of the Shinobi, and trained day and night to overcome her new weakness. She developed the ability to sense people’s chakra to the point where she can tell who’s who based on what their chakra “looks“ like, even if a transformation jutsu is being used.

Personality: Strict. Very, VERY strict. He never shows any other emotions other than coldness or anger. Despite being at the same levels as the other Senseis (Sensai? Senseises?), he won't think twice about lecturing them about how they act. While he appears to be a tyrannical douchebag (and kinda is, to some extent), he can actually be very kind and humorous, although he's grown much colder after his wife's death. Still, the closest thing you'll get to affection from him will be a nod of approval, and not without a lecture about how you could do better.
Weapon of Choice: A club which he won't hesitate to use on any rowdy students.

Personality: A bit of a jokester, and appreciates a spirited student. Not afraid to speak up boldly, but can be a bit insensitive. Seems goofy at first, but puts on his game face in the heat of battle, and would sacrifice his life for anyone in the village without a second thought. Gently adjusts his students’ training to their strengths, but if he ever suspects that they are not doing their best, he’ll give them a good talking-to.

Personality: In one word: Dutiful. Always puts the lives of his comrades first, the success of the mission second, his own life third. Not afraid to get rough with the students entrusted to him, but even if it may seem like he’s going too hard, he’ll only take you as far as you’re able to go. A master of genjutsu, and better than average at both ninjutsu and taijutsu. Wily and crafty. Nigh-impossible to outsmart, but is a bit headstrong, and tends to overestimate himself while underestimating his comrades. All in all, he has a good heart.

Appearance: Tall and thin with dark red-brown hair. His hair is short and neatly combed back, but a few strands tend to fall in front of his face in a charming way. His pale skin offsets his ice-blue eyes that conceal a shadow of insanity behind them. Wears mostly black with accents of white.
Personality: Cunning and calculating, and never wastes a strike. Either it connects, or it was never thrown, although he does use an excess of feints to his advantage. He twists his words to weasel into people’s heads, and has a way of making everything that works to his advantage sound like a good idea, and everything that doesn’t, a bad one. Charismatic, but somewhat insane behind the calm exterior.

Background: Zankoku is actually the younger brother of the current Hokage. The two were close in childhood, but once they became Genin, his true nature was revealed. Every time a comrade’s injury put the success of the mission in jeopardy, he killed them without mercy. On missions, he would often charge into battle for the sake of fighting, instead of listening to the squad leader.

When his violent nature was discovered, he was banished from the Leaf Village. Bitter and resentful, jealous of his brother’s powerful Byakugan, Zankoku swore to take away everything his brother loves before finally killing him. In an attempt to make allies, he founded a Shinobi village in the Land of Woods that he called the Village Hidden in the Shadows.

As his power swelled, he began training underlings to his level, preparing for the day when he would destroy the Hidden Leaf Village, one member at a time. He will not hesitate when he comes across a Leaf Shinobi, preferring to attack and kill first, ask questions never. His allies can manipulate shadows, and are quite adept at jutsus such as the Shadow Strangle Jutsu and the Shadow Possesion Jutsu, as well as many others.
Other: Despite being part of the Hyuga clan, he has shown no signs of possessing the Byakugan.

Appearance: Senshi wears a over sized black jacket with his headbands stitched into a part that covers his mouth. He has unkept brown hair which almost completely covers his eyes, pale skin brown eyes. His jack hangs down to his ankles and wears long black pants and walks barefoot.
Personality: Senshi is rather meak and nervous and struggles with social cues and usually just says what's on his mind. He feels useless at times due to the high expectations of his clan and the status of his jutsu, he quite intelligent, he knows how to get the most of his Jutsu and try's to find new and creative ways to use it, he wants to make friends who he can just relax with and not care about his jutsu.

Seed spring
Senshi throws out seeds and uses some hand signes to make them spring out to trees to entrap the enemeis.
Water Drain
Senshi plants a seed which vines spring out of that when water hits them makes the vines stonger they can be destroyed by water but it is hard as the more water given to the vines makes them stronger.
Transmission wood
Senshi throws out seeds that when attached to something on can be used to track them
Wood decoy
Senshi summons a wooden log to take hit for him so he can avoid the attack.
Background: From a prestigious clan with the wood release technique held in high regard this overwhelmed Senshi causing him to become meek and tired, and distance himself from his family and clan, he wants to become a ninja to learn how to best use his Jutsu and meet interesting people so he can travel the world and document interesting people and animals.

Personality: Despite strict training from his father, Zeren is very silly and rarely ever becomes serious, even in fights. Not to say it didn't have an effect on him, as along with skilled combat, he became somewhat aloof. SIlliness plus aloofness equals a sarcastic son of a ninken.
Thanks to natural combat instincts, he's skilled at Taijutsu, good with ninjutsu, and "meh" with genjitsu, since he rarely uses it. You can thank his father for that.
Weapon of Choice: A simple metal katana, also carries a few kunais on his hip

Lightning release: Nerve dull (An innovated jutsu [Or maybe not, there's a crap-ton out there] that has Zeren send a quick jolt of electricity into someone through contact, messing up their nerves, slowing their reaction time, thinking process, and overall performance. It might even make someone shut down if they're weak enough. The placement of the jolt and the strength plays a big part in this jutsu)
Lightning release: Chakra mode (A last-ditch technique, as it's very exhausting. The electric chakra also affects his katana, causing electricity to course through it.)

Background: His father is an esteemed ninja who used to work as a Squad Sensei. After Zeren's mother's died from an illness, he became dedicated to making Zeren train when he was as young as five. While the training certainly helped Zeren become strong, it also prevented him from having close relationships with anyone, which made him the aloof person he is.
Other: He has the sharingan, but is unaware of it and hasn't activated it yet.

Appearance: Tsuchiki is 5'10 and has green eyes, he has dark brown, short hair that sits above his ears that he usually doesn't style any particular way. He normally wears a white top under an olive green jacket with white sleeves, beige long pants and black boots that end at his shins.
Personality: Tsuchiki is an easy-going and friendly person, who at times might come off as a little eccentric. He's very enthusiastic about Jutsu's and the art of swordfighting, which he's been training himself in for a while. Tsuchiki, although pretty good at it, is not a master swordsman, and tends to be cocky while fighting as he is overconfident in his abilities. This has led to a lot of losses on his part.
Weapon of Choice: Steel Tachi with two spikes on either side of the hilt, he also has a dagger for dual wielding if necessary.

Lightning Whip - Tsuchiki pulls a whip-like bolt of lightning seemingly out of nowhere for use in combat.

Chain Lightning - A much less condensed version of lightning whip, think force lightning but weaker.

Electric Flow - Tsuchiki can emit electric current from his body and run it through his Tachi.

Background: Tsuchiki lived a fairly normal childhood, and he picked up the art of swordfighting at an early age from his father, a veteran of the Allied Shinobi Forces, who gave him his rusted old Tachi to practice with. Over time, Tsuchiki got more and more proficient with his dad's old sword and restored it, even making some improvements to it.

Tsuchiki never had any extended family, no aunts, no uncles, no grandparents or cousins, not even a mother. All he’d ever had was his dad, and he’d asked him why this was the case multiple times however his father always brushed it off, telling him not to worry about it. A few months prior to his graduation, Tsuchiki’s father finally told him why he was all that was left of their family. His mother was from an extensive clan of people who could use the Storm Release, a Kekkei Genkai, however they were all killed when a man came looking to steal it’s power and use it for his own gain. He failed, and in a fit of rage killed the entire clan, except for his father, who didn’t have the Kekkei Genkai, and Tsuchiki, who was too young for the man to be able to detect it in his chakra. This was a big revelation for Tsuchiki, and since he’s been trying to teach himself a Water Release so he’s able to utilise his gift, although his Father thinks is heavily against it.

Appearance: A white haired male around 5'2 and 75 lbs. Without a shirt, his ribs press against his skin to the point where you can count them. His eyes are pale blue, with a slight tint of green. He is normally seen in a black shirt with black shorts. Both his arms have bandages but his left arm's bandage goes up the whole arm. The same is with his legs, but this time it's his right leg. His headband is around his neck.On his face he has a black mask that covers the bottom half of his face. Under the bandages and mask are scars on his body, he prefers to hide.

Personality: He is just a cauldron of hate. He barely has any emotion for his actions, he believes in an eye for an eye system, where if something happens to him he will return the favour. He tries to distance himself from others since his opinion on himself is really high, and those that don't compare with him are seen as "lower beings". All his emotions are bottled inside and it's really unhealthy, but surprisingly he likes to sing.

Weapon of Choice: Ranges from Kunai to shurikens, but his main weapons are a dual bladed kusarigama, which is essentially a sickle attached to a chain, in his case two sickles. Which he can use as grappling hooks. This stays on his back.

Chakra Type: fire and ice release.

Known Jutsu:

Kori ken(ice blade): pretty self explanatory, he makes a blade out of ice that he uses for close combat.

Hi gekido (fire's rage): he creates a ring of fire, when detonated the inside explodes into a fire pillar. Power depends on the size of the ring.

-Kotta Hi (cold fire): this technique involves him shooting ice shards, once they make contact (or when he decides to activate them) they explode into balls of fire.

Kuraken(kracken): he makes 2-8 tentacles made out of ice, with fire joints. He can make these appear anywhere, I.E: the floor, his back, his arms or even on someone else.

Substitution: swaps himself out with an object around him.

Background: Born in a fairly normal family, from a young age his dad saw great potential in him. Even to the point where he named his own son Prodigy, but being named Prodigy means that he had to train like his life depended on it. His dad taught him ice techniques and his mum taught him fire techniques. But since this is one of my Ocs that did not last. When he was around 11, his mum was killed infront of him, by a ninja. The strange thing was this ninja left him, well that was a mistake since this trauma activated his Sharingan (one tomoe). He tried what he could to kill this ninja, but that just led to him getting his face cut up and his limbs badly wounded. From that day, he vowed he would kill this ninja.

Other: Kekkei Genkai: ice release and He is able to activate the first stage of his sharingan(one tomoe) but he doesn't rely on this.

Chakra Type: Earth
Background: Zankoku is actually the younger brother of the current Hokage. The two were close in childhood, but once they became Genin, his true nature was revealed. Every time a comrade’s injury put the success of the mission in jeopardy, he killed them without mercy. On missions, he would often charge into battle for the sake of fighting, instead of listening to the squad leader.

When his violent nature was discovered, he was banished from the Leaf Village. Bitter and resentful, jealous of his brother’s powerful Byakugan, Zankoku swore to take away everything his brother loves before finally killing him. In an attempt to make allies, he founded a Shinobi village in the Land of Woods that he called the Village Hidden in the Shadows.

As his power swelled, he began training underlings to his level, preparing for the day when he would destroy the Hidden Leaf Village, one member at a time. He will not hesitate when he comes across a Leaf Shinobi, preferring to attack and kill first, ask questions never. His allies can manipulate shadows, and are quite adept at jutsus such as the Shadow Strangle Jutsu and the Shadow Possesion Jutsu, as well as many others.
Other: Despite being part of the Hyuga clan, he has shown no signs of possessing the Byakugan.

If/when I finish the villain‘s s as accomplices, I’ll just edit them into this post.

Appearance: Similar to Zeren, only much burlier, taller, and with a face that looks like it hasn't smiled in years.
Personality: Strict. Very, VERY strict. He never shows any other emotions other than coldness or anger. Despite being at the same levels as the other Senseis (Sensai? Senseises?), he won't think twice about lecturing them about how they act. While he appears to be a tyrannical douchebag (and kinda is, to some extent), he can actually be very kind and humorous, although he's grown much colder after his wife's death. Still, the closest thing you'll get to affection from him will be a nod of approval, and not without a lecture about how you could do better.
Master at taijutsu, skilled with ninjutsu, and he thinks genjutsu is pointless and cowardly.
Weapon of Choice: A club which he won't hesitate to use on any rowdy students.

Sorry for the double post, but:

The Genin training involves the squads climbing the waterfall to get to a sword at the top. What the Genin don’t know is that the waterfall itself is infused with chakra, and will try to sweep the Genin off the rock face. They also don’t know that their senseis will be working to stop them from getting to the top as well. And to top it off, there are two squads going for the same sword. (Duh, the two squads with characters in them). They’ll climb up opposite sides of the waterfall, and only realize that they’re competing once they reach the top.

In actuality, the sword at the top is a dual sword with two swords in one. If the Genin are smart enough to separate the two and get down to their senseis before sunset, then both squads will pass.

TL;DR Get to the top of the waterfall, split the sword in half, don’t get knocked off by the chakra-infused waterfall or your sensei.

They haven’t had extensive training yet, if you’ve seen/read the anime/manga they don’t know how to do the ninja wall walking thing until a little bit before the Chunin exams. So theoretically it would be a difficult challenge for them at this level, especially since Jonin-level instructors will be trying to make it harder

And @BigHoodieBoy236 what would he make to not have to climb? A grappling hook?

Your post about how you managed to do the assignment is too flawed. Let me put it to you like this, you are not ninja jesus you can't beat a sensei with much more experience than you. The task itself is designed to be difficult and grueling to the point where our groups need to work together. You could not have done it in one post. Let me put it in the least offensive way, we're all half wits compared to the sensei, so unless you let the nine tail beast out I doubt you could out do the sensei in one post.
