The official Pokémon site has today revealed a brand new trailer for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y along with updating their site with some new details and English names for the four most recently revealed Pokémon from the CoroCoro leaks a couple of days ago.

The latest trailer to be released showcases the new Pokémon in battle, along with introducing us to the first Kalos Gym Leader Viola. If you wish to view the trailer then you can find it here.

Of course the biggest news today is the English names for the four Pokémon, which are as follows:

The Fairy Type Pokémon Furabebe will be known as Flaébé in English and as stated in CoroCoro a few days ago knows the new Fairy Type move Fairy Wind.

Shisiko the lion cub Pokémon will be known as Litleo in English and knows the move Noble Roar which was known as Battle Cry in Japanese.

The Bug Type Pokémon known as Kofukimushi in Japan will be going by the name Scatterbug in English and knows the move String Shot.

Last up we have the Bug Type Pokémon known as Kofuraii, this little Pokémon will be called Spewpa in English and knows the move Protect.

Along with the English names for the above Pokémon, we've also had a couple of translations for other things. Our starting town will be going by the name of Vaniville Town in English, while the city with the first Kalos Gym will be called Santalune City. Our childhood friends who live in Vaniville Town have also had their English names revealed and are known as Shauna,Tierno and Trevor.

Shauna is an easygoing and friendly person who will be endlessly curious about the things you come across while exploring Kalos, a bit like Bianca from the fifth generation games.

Trevor is the competitive one in the group of friends and wishes to complete his Pokédex before any of his other friends. He will also be the one who gives you your Kalos Pokédex.

Tierno likes nothing more than to dance and wants to create a dance team with his Pokémon, an interesting idea that we haven't really seen before from a childhood friend in Pokémon.

The playable characters have also been named with the male known as Calem and the female known as Serena. Whichever one you don't choose will live next door to you in Vaniville Town and aims to become the most powerful Pokémon trainer around.

I've been impressed with the localisation. It's stuck pretty closely with the original names - the rivals and Flabébé's names haven't changed much, and Gogoat kept the same name. It's probably to do with the simultaneous release.

It's cool having lots of rivals. It will add more variety to one's rival battles. However, the overwhelming thing about this batch of information for me has been Flabébé. One of my favourite Pokémon, I really hope Game Freak give it a good evolution (unless it has a 721 base stat total in its base form or something ridiculous).

The more GameFreak lays on thick the Francophile stylings and references unto this region, the more I sincerely hope this isn't the only excursion we get to a European-inspired world in the games. I don't think there's anyone in the rest of Europe that would like to be solely represented by the concepts and culture of France. :p

I like the apparent dynamic of the other characters, though. It seems to be taking more than a leaf out of the anime's book in giving you a group of actual in-game friends to partake in adventures with - rather than just showing up every so often to battle. Maybe we'll see this play a part in their answer to furthering the attention to plot and characterisation in the games that we saw really build up in B/W and B/W2.

I'm not sure how this works, but apparently there's 3 trainers who travel with you from time to time in the game? Is this done to make things similar to the anime where your character isn't always alone?

I know DP had some travel along characters, but not to this extent. It almost seems likely that girl, the fat guy with the Vanillite shirt and the other kid might be Ash's new travel companions next season.

Ugh. Why must we have so many friends? I might never have as many friends as Calem and Serena does! D:

I really dig the trainer names, especially Calem, since it's identical to mine except for one letter. In fact, a report I read that mistranslated/spelled it as Calum had me making girly squeals, I thought it was making up for what Fire Emblem translations did to me *glares at Callum Kellam*

Pokemon however, Litleo is already looking to be one of my favourites, but I'll reserve judgement on that, after all, it does remind me a lot like Shinx, it's evolutions could easily look just as similar. I'm still hoping it will be more interesting than that though, I'd love to see a proper fire mane, and not a ganonbeard like Emboar had.
