Open Nita Region: Rebirth

Team Necro are gone, and Professor Arbola has been apprehended. The league has been rebuilt, and the Nita region is up and running once again. In the northern parts of the region, you'll find rich cultures within the towns that you visit, and there are lots of places for you to visit, and art for you to appreciate with your pokemon. In the southern parts of the region, you'll find dry areas, great for catching rare pokemon, and of course, the dances and wonderful food for which southern Nita is famed.

Before you explore the Nita region, you'll need a pokemon to get you started, of course! Since there isn't a regional professor here anymore, you'll have to either get your starter from your local gym leader, or borrow one of your parents' pokemon, and catch one yourself! Now, go, and explore the Nita region, trainers!

(Here are the rules for the RP)

1.) Your starter CANNOT be shiny

2.) If you catch your own starter, it cannot be an eevee. No exceptions. You may catch eevee later in the RP, though.

3.) No mary sues.

4.) No OC x Canon.

5.) You can have fakemon, but you can't have a fakemon starter.

(Here are the gym leaders, and the starters they give out)

Name: Irina

Age: 12

Hometown: Potenza City (If getting your starter from a gym leader, then it has to one of the ones that the gym leader of your hometown gives out)

Starter: Pachirisu (Named Sparky)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Irina had been bursting at the seams with excitement, ever since she had gotten her pachirisu from Aidan, her local gym leader. Her very first journey was about to begin, and her goal of being Nita Queen was finally within reach!

Since her mama was afraid of her going on her journey alone, it had been decided that Irina should meet some other beginner trainers in Rappacini Village, where her first showcase was due to take place, and hopefully, get to travel with them.

She stepped off of the bus, clutching Sparky tightly in her arms, excited to see that the new trainers were already there, waiting for her.

"Mornin'!" She greeted, "I'm Irina, and this is my partner, Sparky! Nice to meet'cha!"

Name: Angelina "Angel" Hale
Age: 15
Hometown: Goldenrod City, Johto Region
Starter: N/A
Personality/Backstory: Despite being born in to a rich, snobby family, she was always kind, and never looked down on anyone. She never cared for the life of being the daughter of a wealthy family, and heiress to the family fortune and business. Ever since the age of ten, she'd always been trying to talk her parents in to letting her go on a journey. Finally, she got the one thing she truly wanted. She looks forward to travelling Nita, hopefully with some friends.
Appearance: Angel is pale skinned. Her hair is brown on the left, and the right half is pink. Her eyes basically reflect her hair, her left eye being pink and her right being brown. Her hair goes a bit past the middle of her back, and it slightly covers her right eye. Currently, she wears a white coat, with a matching skirt and boots. However, she plans on changing her attire as soon as she gets the chance.

Angelina Hale looked out the window behind her head, as the Helicopter descended not far from a bus stop. This was it. She was finally in the Nita Region. She hadn't caught a Pokemon yet, and her father had loaned her one of his Pokemon, a Persian. "Well, this is it." Angel said, a smile on her face. She had two Pokeballs securely tucked away in a pocket in her coat. One was a Luxury Ball, which contained her Persian, and the other was a normal Poke Ball, which she planned on using to catch her first Pokemon.

Her father had insisted on her using a Luxury, or even an Ultra Ball, for her first Pokemon. However, she declined. She hadn't wanted an unfair edge over other beginning trainers. In fact, her father had insisted on her taking multiple things. A phone, in case she wanted to leave right away, a town map, so she wouldn't get lost. Those were only some of the things. She'd only taken a bit of money. Just enough to get her started, and buy a more casual set of clothes. She took out the Luxury Ball, calling out her father's Persian.

As the Helicopter landed, Angel and Persian climbed down, heading to the group of trainers by the bus stop. Considering the fact I just landed from a Helicopter, with my father's business logo on the side, plain as day, they'll probably think I'm some spoiled brat. She thought to herself. I guess I'd just better make a good impression, then. "Hi there! I don't suppose any of you would know where the nearest Route with wild Pokemon are, would you?"

"Of course I do!" Irina answered, a heavy Basque lisp present in her voice, "This is my home region, after all!"

Irina motioned to the three paths leading away from the village. One lead to Rappacini Meadow, for which for the village was named; in it grew a unique species of flower, with highly toxic nectar. Understandably, it was home to many poison types, seeing as they were the only ones who could drink the nectar and not drop dead within seconds. Though, it was rumoured that if eevee drank the nectar of the flowers in the meadow, they would evolve into Iveon, a poison type eeveelution...

"And on the right, there's Route One, which leads to Granja Town," Irina continued, explaining it to the newcomer as if she were a tour guide, "That's where you'll find normal and grass types. Or if you're really lucky, you'll find a rare taillow! Or, you could try the lake, if grass types aren't your thing..."

Wow, literally no comment on the fact I arrived from a helicopter? Well, I can't really complain about that. I just hope it stays that way. Angel thought to herself. "There's a lake, huh?" Angel replied. "I might go there, then. I assume the last path leads to the lake?" She inquired.

"Yup, that's the way," Irina continued, "I assume that you'll find mostly water types, there, though..."

Truth be told, Irina didn't know what to make of the newcomer. She made quite an entrance, having come in on a helicopter like that, but she seemed to know absolutely nothing about the region in which she had just landed. To think that she had come this far without a pokemon, too... Most kids, even if their parents didn't have the money to shell out for a starter, didn't go very far from home without pokemon...

"Alright, thanks for the help, I appreciate it. Maybe I'll see you around some time." As Angel said that, she clicked her tongue, signaling for Persian to follow her. Afterwards, she made her way to the path leading to the lake. The path itself was rather nice, she'd noted. After a short walk, she made her way to the lake, and took a moment to simply view it. It was a rather nice lake. The natural beauty of it was far superior than the man made ones back at her family's multiple estates. "I probably should've taken the map Dad insisted on, huh?" She asked, more to herself and Persian. Persian simply gave a meow of agreement. "Well, let's see what we can find."

Come to think of catching pokemon, Irina though that perhaps, she ought to go and catch one herself. She already had Sparky, her pachirisu, but if she wanted to really make a scene in her showcases, then she had to catch lots of different pokemon.

She gazed down at the pachirisu, wandering what would be best to go for...

Name: Jonathan

Age: 13

Hometown: Fiore City

Starter: Riolu

Appearence: He's a bit short for his age, he's 4"4 ft tall, he has Short straight hair (Dark Brown), brown-green eyes, He carries a red Camping pack. He wears a green jacket that he often wraps around his waist, black pants and black shoes.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jonathan would wrap the sleeves of his jacket around his waist, looking at Riolu who was walking besides him as he exits the Pokemon Gym, after walking forwards for a while, they would arrive to the nearest route.
"So...What do you think Riolu?...Which gym should we challenge first?" Jonathan said, staring at the long route infront of him.
Riolu would growl with excitement in response to the question Jonathan did.
"Let's go!" Jonathan would yell, waving his hand in the air as he leaves Fiore City.

Irina pondered over her choices carefully... Her adorable pachirisu was enough for one appeal, she supposed, but what about the other rounds? Four moves wasn't a lot to work with, anyway...

"Say, Sparky," Irina began, "What do you say that we go and catch our first new team-mate?"

"Chi-PA!" the pachirisu answered. He still wasn't sure of what to make of this beginner yet...

Irina took that as a yes, and picked the pachirisu up, heading towards the path leading to Granja Town. As was to be expected from a path leading to a town with a grass type gym leader, it was full of grass type pokemon, and flowers grew everywhere on it...

Sparky happened to notice something just as Irina was headed into a daffodil patch, to look for a potential catch. A chikorita was on its back in a bluebell patch, with an enormous gash on its side.

Sparky tugged at Irina's skirt, in the hopes that he'd get her attention.

"What is it, Sparky?" Irina scoffed, "We have pokemon to catch!"

The little pokemon cried out, "Chi-pa! Pachi!"

"Are you hungry? Do you want food?"

"PACHI!"

And then Irina saw what he was making all the fuss over. The chikorita looked like it was barely alive, especially with a wound that big... She had to help! Her mother worked for a pokemon centre, and had taught Irina basic first aid.

Irina tapped a heal ball to the chikorita's head, and carried back to the pokemon centre in Rappacini Village. She couldn't carry the pokemon, and risk exacerbating its wounds...

Angelina reached in to her coat pocket, retrieving an empty Pokeball. She hadn't enlarged it yet. She decided it would be better to wait until she located a Pokemon. In the corner of her eye, the fifteen-year-old spotted a small, blue Pokemon emerging from the lake. She slid behind a bush, Persian right behind her, and peeked over the edge of it. It had the appearance of a penguin, and it had a beak. A Piplup? She thought to herself. As the Pokemon called it's cry, she got her answer. "Pip! Piplup, pip!" It cried, seeming relaxed. Angel slid out of her cover, and faced the Pokemon. The Piplup turned it's head to the girl and the cat Pokemon. It gave an indignant cry, before using an attack. It looked like a Drill Peck. "Persian, Slash!" Angel ordered. Persian followed through with the order, and used a Slash attack on the Piplup, redirecting it in to the ground.

The Piplup quickly got back up to it's feet, and unleashed a Bubblebeam attack. "Protect!" Angel called. Persian closed it's eyes for a moment, then was surrounded by a shield, protecting it from the Bubblebeam attack. "Now, Night Slash!" She called. Persian complied, and charged towards the Piplup. The Piplup landed on it's back, and Angel seized the moment. She pushed the button on the empty Pokeball, enlarging it, and threw it. The Ball hit the Piplup, and bounced into the air, absorbing the Piplup into it. Now, it was a waiting game. Once. Twice. Thrice. Click! She successfully caught her starter Pokemon. Angelina walked towards the Pokeball, and bent down to pick it up. She opened it, sending out her new Pokemon. The girl crouched down, standing at eye-level with the Piplup. "Hello there, Piplup. Would you like to accompany me on my Journey through the Nita Region?" She inquired to the Piplup, raising an eyebrow. The Piplup didn't hesitate, and immediately gave a nod. "Well, alright then! I guess we'll need a nickname for you, huh?" She voiced her though, and put her hand to her chin, contemplating nickname ideas. "You're a boy, right, Piplup?" She asked. The Piplup gave another affirmative nod.

"Alright, then how about Poseidon?" She proposed, and the Piplup seemed to like the name. "Great! Let's head back to Rappacini Village and get you healed up!" She said, and turned to walk back. "You did great too, Persian." She praised, rubbing the cream-colored Pokemon's head. As she walked back to Rappacini, her father's Persian walked next to her, and Poseidon climbed up on to her head, and sat there. Angel couldn't help the smile finding it's way on to her face. And, she didn't mind it there. In fact, she was glad. I don't think I've ever really felt this... free. No worries about Mother or Father, or the company. Nothing. Just me and my Pokemon. It's a shame Persian has to go back to Father, though. I wish he could stay with us. These thoughts occupied Angel's mind as she made her way back to the Village.

Name: Richard Whitman

Age: 12

Hometown: Granja

Starter: Bulbasaur (Granjan Flower)

Meanwhile in the grassy plains of Granja, a trainer and his Bulbasaur were training hard against the native grass type wildlife. It had been almost a week since he had received his starter Pokemon from Rose, but he still couldn't believe that this was happening, he was finally becoming an actual Pokemon trainer.

He turned to where his uncle was standing, a stern look on his face. Richard ran up to him "Isn't this great?" he asked "I'm finally becoming a trainer"
"Becoming a trainer" his uncle spat, "whats so great about becoming a trainer?"
"Weren't you a trainer?" Richard asked "I looked through the family photo album, you had some really cool Pokemon!"
"Your father was a trainer too" his uncle said grumpily "and look what happened to him", Richard's uncle tried to stifle a tear and turned around

"I'm sorry" Richard apologised "I shouldn't have brought that up"
"No" his uncle said softly "I'm sorry... continue your training if you want"
Richard nodded and ran back into the field, where his uncle regarded him with sadness. Part of him was jumping in joy, but another was worried, who wouldn't be?
He shook his head, there was no reason to be worried, Richard was a resourceful kid. He walked away, leaving his nephew to train in peace

Backstory:
Ella came from a very rich and popular family who all trained different types. Her mother trained Psychic and her father trained dark, she had decided when she was little that she was going to follow her grandmothers footsteps and train fairy. She didn't really have a choice if she wanted to train all sorts of types, it was a family tradition. As soon as her parents found out she wanted to be a fairy type trainer, they moved to Nymphia Village and she got her starter immediately.

RP:

Ella wandered around the forest. She and Flabebe were very lost. She was meant to be travelling towards the mountains but she went The wrong way. She looked around and saw a girl heading towards her.

"Yeah" Ella said. She glanced down at the Ralts by the girls feet. "Wait, are you from Nymphia Village?" Ella asked excitedly.

Irina was calm as she handed the chikorita, in its heal ball, over to Rappacini Village's Nurse Joy. Chikorita were tremendously common around these parts, and regional professors often came by Rappacini Village to catch them for new trainers... Why would anyone have beaten that chikorita up, if they weren't going to catch it, though...?

Irina decided to wait in the pokemon centre lobby for an update on the little grass type... And maybe, in the meantime, she could try and make friends with Sparky.

Irina got out a case of pokesticks, the region's signature pokemon treat, and offered them to Sparky.

The pachirisu sniffed the treats cautiously... He turned his nose up at most of them, since they weren't the flavours that he liked...

But then he saw one covered in blue, yache-flavoured sugar, and went straight for it, gobbling it down immediately.

"Was that good, little buddy?" She chuckled, "It's my own recipe!"

"Chi-Pachi-pa!" Sparky answered.

"Do you know the way to the nearest village?" Ella asked, "I'm trying to travel to the mountains, but I have no idea how to get there"

One minute Ella was standing in the forest, the next she was standing in the Rappacini Pokemon Center.

"Thanks!" Ella said

"Fla! BeFlabebe!" Flabebe said

Irina smiled at the cute little electric squirrel. Maybe they would become fast friends...

She put her pokesticks away and scratched Sparky on the head, and his cheeks crackled as she touched his ears.

After taking her time to view the sites on the pathway back to Rappacini with her new Pokemon and father's Persian, Angel made it back to the village in which she'd set her first steps in Nita in. Upon walking in to the Pokemon Center, the first thing she did was hand over Poseidon and Persian to Nurse Joy. After she handed over the two Pokeballs, she sat down on one of the seats to wait.

Richard's uncle watched as Richard waved goodbye and walked down the trail towards Rappacini.
It wasn't that good of an idea to send a trainer with a grass type Pokemon to a place with a Poison Type Gym, but the Showcase there would be a good place to meet other trainers. It would make him much more comfortable to know that his nephew wasn't travelling alone.

Richard walked down the route towards Rappacini, it was calm... quiet. He smiled, this was finally happening, he was finally a true Pokemon Trainer. He heard a noise behind him and saw a Cotonee.
He reached into his back pocket, trying to grab a Pokeball, but realised he had none.

He rummaged through his bag, as Bulbasaur and the Cotonee looked on in confusion. Realising that he left his Pokeballs at home, he decided to battle it instead.

"Granjan Flower (the nickname he had decided on using for Bulbasaur), use tackle!"
Flower rammed itself into the Cotonee, knocking it backwards
"Now continue with vine whip!"
Flower's vines wrapped around Cotonee and launched it into a tree. Will high fived Flower's vine. Then they laughed and continued along their way

Later, when they were gone, the Cotonee got up angrily. It looked at the track where Richard had gone, and followed

Irina went to check on the chikorita a little later, and Nurse Joy deemed it fit to be released again, but it seemed to want to stay with Irina and Sparky. And thus, stay, it would. Chikorita were fairly common in this part of Nita, but still, it was a new team-mate, and a new tool to be used in showcases.

She returned it to its heal ball, and just before she went to leave, she spied the girl from before sat by the waiting area.

"So, had any luck catching your starter?" she greeted.

Angel looked up, upon hearing the voice of the girl who'd directed her to the lake. "I did, actually. Thank you for asking! I'm actually-" Angel was cut off, as Nurse Joy called out. "Ms. Hale? Your Pokemon are healed up, and ready to go." "Oh, there they are. Just a second." She requested, as she made her way to the front desk. After retrieving the two Pokeballs, she put Persian's in her coat pocket. She walked back to Irinia, and sent out her Piplup. "I found this little guy at the lake! He put up a fight, too." She informed, putting Poseidon's Pokeball away too, but leaving the small Penguin Pokemon out. Poseidon waved at Irina, and gave her a friendly greeting.

Sparky waved back at the little water type, before charging forward, and attempting to affectionately nuzzle it. Irina pulled her pachirisu back, smiling awkwardly at Poseidon, and then up at Angel.

"Aww, he's so cute!" she gushed, "And I just got myself a new pokemon too! It's a chikorita, but I can't let it out of its pokeball right now, since Nurse Joy said that it needs to rest... Anyway, are you gonna challenge Beatrice, the gym leader?"

Angel put her hand to her chin, contemplating on it. "Not yet. With only Poseidon, and since we haven't had any time to train yet, I want to work on us training together for a bit before I try anything. After we're done a bit of training, though, definitely." Angel informed.
