The reason you're seeing this video in your mailbox, is because you've been accepted to study in our prestigious Gym Leader Academy! My name's Alder, ex-Unova Champion and principal of this academy! Here, we will teach you everything you need to know to become a full-fledged Gym Leader! Our academy is located in the Strega region, which is found right between the Sinnoh and Unova regions!

We will have ships docking in Vermilion City, Olivine City, Slateport City, Canalave City, Castelia City and Coumarine City on the 28th of August, so make sure you're there! The boats will bring you to the port of Strega, and from there on it isn't far to the academy anymore! Normally, there should be a map attached to the mail to help you navigate... It was attached, right? Good. I wish all of you a pleasant trip, and hope to see you at the academy!"

Hello and welcome to Strega: Gym Leader Academy! This roleplay will be held in a small fictional region called Strega. A map is coming soon. I promise.

Spoiler: The Story

After leaving his title as Unova Champion to young Iris, Alder had been travelling around all the different regions. Something had been bothering him for a long time. Gym Leaders were able to be defeated by trainers that had only just started out. In Alder's opinion, there was something wrong with that. And so he started building the Gym Leader Academy in the region of Strega with a clear goal in mind. To create new and more powerful Gym Leaders.

However, a sinister group in Strega has been watching his activities very closely. Team Void, a group that wants nothing more than anarchy in the whole world, sees the Gym Leaders as immediate threats to their goal. However, instead of defeating the 'old' Gym Leaders, they have settled for a long-term goal. To destroy the academy and thus the new Gym Leaders.

You are one of the first accepted students in Alder's newly built academy, so now school life will be starting for you again! Will you study hard, or rather slack off with some friends? Oh, but don't forget. Team Void could be lurking anywhere...

The type handling classes aren't only for the ones aspiring to become a Gym Leader of that type. Other students may attend those classes for various reasons as well. For example, if they need tips to battle that exact type, or if they're just interested.

And now for some rules, because every roleplay needs them.

General Rules
1. All the rules from Pokécharms are in effect here. This includes both the general and subtopic rules.
2. No bunnying. This means controlling other RP'ers' actions. Forcing them to take a hit from you, making them follow you... These are all forms of bunnying.
3. No Mary Sues. Your character isn't able to jump over buildings or run like Usain Bolt, and your Pokémon won't win every battle they are in.
4. Be friendly, or at least try to. If you constantly go around insulting others, you can and will get kicked. This is one of the most important rules to me. Break it, and you won't get a second chance.
5. Be creative. We've in a forum about roleplaying. Posts that are ten words long are not appreciated. At least try to put some effort in when writing in the IC thread.

OC rules
1. No legendaries. They're unlikely to even appear in the story.
2. No mega's. This may change in the future.
3. No shinies. Not even one.
4. As a wannabe Gym Leader, your team must be focused on the training of one specific type, but you're allowed to catch two Pokémon that are of a different type. No more.
5. Pokémon with slightly altered appearances are allowed. Slightly, meaning that an Oshawott's scalchop may be a darker shade of yellow, but your Oshawott isn't supposed to be twice as big as a normal one, or black-and-white colored. Keep it realistic.
6. Ditto, Smeargle, Unown, Wobbuffet, Wynaut, Shedinja and Phione are banned overall.
7. Magikarp, Feebas and Beldum are banned as starters.
8. Fossil Pokémon, Beldum, Spiritomb, Rotom, Castform, Porygon, Porygon2 and Porygon-Z may not be caught in the wild.
9. Your starter Pokémon must correspond to the region you are from. A trainer from Johto, Sinnoh or Kalos may have a Houndour as a starter, a trainer from Kanto, Hoenn or Unova may not. The regional Pokédexes used to reference this are those from Red/Blue/Green/Yellow/Fire Red/Leaf Green in Kanto, Heart Gold/Soul Silver in Johto, Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire in Hoenn, Platinum in Sinnoh, Black 2/White 2 in Unova and X/Y in Kalos.
10. A Pokémon may know up to 6 moves each in this RP. The moves may be freely chosen from all possible moves the Pokémon can learn in ORAS. This means level-up, transfer, TM/HM, tutor... However, if I deem a move to be too broken, I'll ask you through PM to change it.
11. Pokémon may know moves they aren't able to normally, as long as it makes sense. A Staraptor using Acrobatics is ok, a Magmar using Hydro Pump isn't. If you're planning on doing this, PM me beforehand with the move and the Pokémon that you want to learn it.
12. Last but not least, no Fakemons, fused Pokémon, crossbred Pokémon, Delta Pokémon or Shadow Pokémon.

First off, the age. I know I goofed by not describing it better, but 13 is impossible, whatsoever. If you're going to keep that birthday, she'd be 15. Also, could you give Mina a last name? That's my bad for not specifying.

On to the Pokémon. Sorry for having to break it to you, but shiny Pokémon are banned from this RP overall. Check the rules. Also, there's one move too much in your moveset. I'd like to ask you to remove Psychic, as that move is currently on my list as one of the powerful and thus illegal moves for starter Pokémon to have.

History: Marius had lived all his life in his hometown, Verdanturf Town. He grew up in a town where contests were held daily. Of course, these influenced his life. However, as much as he loved contests, he also loved seeing Pokémon battles. As he met his first Pokémon, a Volbeat, at the age of 14, he set his mind. Seeing as his Volbeat could both battle and pull of beautiful moves, he enrolled in Strega's Gym Leader Academy with a clear goal in mind: to become both a coordinator and Gym Leader using Bug-type Pokémon.

The color scheme of Shadows of Almia Lucario isn't different from regular Lucario, if I recall correctly.
Also, could you scrap Drain Punch and another move on your moveset? Only four moves are allowed for your starter for now, and Drain Punch is one of the more broken moves on my list. On the other hand, looking good. Accepted if you change these!

Personality: Despite his impassive and uncaring look, Desmond is a very easy going guy with a lot of spirit. He has the habit of teasing people hes close to, however he is very friendly and protective over those he cares for. Once approached he tends to instantly smile, making others feel comfortable. For the most part he has a very laid back personality often goofing and joking around. However if the situation calls for it he changes completely becoming very serious and focused at the task at hand. Unexpectedly Desmond has a short temper but hides his anger well- most of time. If the presence of someone he cares for is absent, his glare can be very cold and menacing. He can also be very rash and indecisive, horrible at relying on people.
History: Desmond was born in the Kanto region, but traveled with his father all his life. As a pokemon researcher, his father did not want to neglect his child and often dragged his son with him region to region. These regions were often in harsh conditions and climates, and Desmond had once thought his father was trying to kill him. However, as he traveled, he often encountered gyms and envied their home base. From there, his dream to become a gym leader grew.

Personality: She seems cold, often expressionless and calm. However, Vee is truly just very reserved, and is actually very emotional. She was raised to hide her emotions, and often has trouble trying to state her opinion. Under her timidness, she is very competitive and is prone to personality change during battle.
History: Born under a lucky star, Vee's mother is the world renown ice and fairy type contestant, and her father is a company director. She is the little lady of a fairly large estate, and was expected to live up to her mother and father's expectations. She was raised in her mother's footsteps as a ice type contestant, however she is not as she seems. Compared to the beautifully dealt battles, she prefers the ruthless thrill. In order to witness this rush, she often visit the nearest city gym. Going against her parent's wishes, she enrolled into the academy. However on one condition, she must focus on the type she has the most trouble dealing with.

Very good, that goes for both of your characters! It was a pleasure to read through their bios! As for how many allowed, I'm afraid I'm going to have to say only one... Honestly, I debated on making an exception for you, seeing that you're quite a skilled RP'er already. Though, I have to draw the line somewhere, I'm afraid.

Anyway, if I may say my preferred character, that would be Skye. Maybe it's because of the missing personality of Miles, I don't know. Skye intrigues me. I'd be very happy to see either of them in the RP, though! Last thing I need is an edit to the hometown of Skye, though. Just the region isn't enough, I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask for a real town/city as well. For Miles, I won't force you to put one, as he's been travelling for a long time. If you're going for Miles, I will need a personality, though.
