The Dark Fairy

There was nothing, as far as one would like in any direction. Only one being existed in the darkness, at peace with the nothing. Though he new it would not last forever, it could exist for as long as he liked. As long as it fell short of eternity. So he sat in the darkness for a time, he decided to define such a thing by minutes, then hours, millennia and eons. He sat there for many many eons. Though only he had a grasp on the workings of time, one thing would still happen regardless of his will, and as such he allowed the event he waited for so long to come to pass.

A disk was all the ground there was, circles of white light existing where anything touched it. As the only thing there was, it was the center of existence as Dren hesitated for eons more as he enjoyed what would surly be the last of his peace, then, all at once, over the course of only a collection of seconds less than a minute, seven other figures would appear. Not created by Dren, nor controlled or lesser, but finally allowed. He did not bother to manifest himself, why would he? Instead he simply was the void that surrounded the disk.

(Elder gods as they come into existence do have a lot of knowledge, though they have no memories, as this is when they just started existing.)

Degan came into being, though his form undefined, his presence would still be evident to those present. His eyes drifted around to the other six figures standing on the disk, and fully aware of the presence beyond it. He stared at the other gods, the only other being to simply exist. He stepped forwards, turning his vision to take in all that existed "Well, this is dreadfully plain."

[Polaris]

Stagnation can last a long time, but it never lasts forever. Some way, somehow, it will come to an end - whether it takes centuries, millennia, eons, or even longer.

The universe had remained still and unchanging for an indeterminately long amount of time - its only resident content to wait until it balanced itself out. And what better to balance order and stillness than chaos and transience?

It was in this moment that a new figure came to exist.

---

One of the figures on the disk could barely be classified as a figure. It was more of a presence - an ever-changing entity of entropy and lawlessness. It could not be defined - it simply was, and it could not be described in any other way.

Another entity on the disk spoke, and the Presence seemed to respond. It shifted, taking on an infinite amount of forms in a matter of seconds (was it seconds? time was only loosely defined) before finally settling on a much more defined figure.

The newly formed individual appeared relatively unassuming. Black hair framed a relatively youthful looking face, and a pair of faintly glowing eyes pierced the darkness. They floated just above the disk, glancing around at the other figures in their midst.

They knew everything, and yet they knew nothing. They knew not of how they came to be, or what they were before. Of their identity, they only knew two things - they were called Polaris, and they were the embodiment of chaos itself.

"I can't say I disagree. Pretty boring, if I do say so myself." Polaris twiddled their thumbs, evidently quite restless. They observed the other figures that they shared this universe with, curiosity dancing in their eyes.

Ly'kin, Bearer of Knowledge and Embodiment of Learning
A vast empty darkness, filled with nothingness and housing but one entity. A silent, tranquil setting, the beginning before the creation of all. In this vast emptiness, amongst the appearances of other elder gods, one mechanical entity materialized atop the disk. Gigantic in stature, its six differently-coloured eyes emitted a faint glow in this unending darkness.

As it came to being, its mind expanded, ever-growing in knowledge and information. For it - or rather, he knew that he was Ly'kin, the embodiment of science, knowledge, and technology. Ever-increasing in intelligence, the Elder God looked over to who had spoken up last, now speaking up himself, his jaws sluggishly moving up and down like a mechanical construct's.

" Agreed. This empty space of darkness is rather drab. "

Shuren god of Luck. Lord of Luxury and Indulgence.

Within the infinite, cold and empty void where nothing existed until a strange figure began to materialize on the strange disk, it's form stretched out like a serpent that emerged to the surface, the first sound from it's mouth was a long breath, the first breath of many. As it's crimson eyes opened, it looked around while it's form began to take on a color and form: A gargantuan silver snake with an unusual mouth, razor sharp teeth with it's lips formed into a grin before it looked down at itself, then it looked at the other beings that manifested, the knowledge that it wasn't alone caused it to huff rapidly, said huffs ended up as what was likely the first laugh.

"Well well, looks like this empty space ain't lookin' so empty, what're the chances of that?" The serpent said with a hoarse voice and a little hiss before it's form began to change to a more humanoid appearance, it's serpentine figure retracted as limbs began to grow from it, it's head gained a more humanoid look with somewhat handsome features, it's once red eyes turned silver with sclera as black as the void they resided in, silver hair began to grow as his skin seemed to shed from silver scales to extremely pale flesh, the scales that fell off of him seemed to change shape upon departure from the body, their forms take on a more flat and circular shape. The figure looked down at himself before he smiled at his new form, then his new eyes began to gaze around at the others on the disk.

Scealta, Goddess of Stories
All stories have their beginning, no matter how boring or contrived it is. No matter if the storyteller goes all the way to the very beginning. A golden figure formed with the rest of the powerful beings. She was adorned with feathers and had a tail, though she was clearly humanoid. She knew everything, yet nothing. She wished she could know what happened before her formation, but she had no way to see that. The nothingness ahead of her was... suffocating. The goddess closed her dark eyes, trying to envision what she wanted. A brief smile formed on her lips before she opened her eyes again. The nothingness was not an obstacle to overcome, it was a blank page for them to change. She shook her head. "Don't you see, the emptiness is not what we're supposed to look at, it's what the emptiness can become." She pulled out one of her feathers, ignoring the pain of having a feather plucked, and held it like a pen. "We're the first, so obviously we must change the emptiness to something more... enjoyable."

Dren god of the void
In response to Scealta, Dren spoke for the first time, his voice surrounding the others as it came from all sides. His tone was angry and harsh "You are not to touch my void! I don't care what you do with your space, but you are not filling up my peace with your nonsense."

Dagon god of deviation
Dagon stared at Dren, a feeling of exasperation coming over him. "Well then." He turned to the others, lifting his hand to be held over the ground, as the white glow that was under him shifted to a light blue, the change moving to affect the whole disk. Waving it again, the disk would seem to become irregular in texture, forming mountains and hills and ravines.

Shuren god of Luck. Lord of Luxury and Indulgence.

The man turned to the feathered woman with a raised eyebrow when she mentioned what they could do with the emptiness, he looked down at his own hands and noticed one of them still had a scale on, when he took it off, the scale once again changed into the shape of a coin and narrowed his eyes to appraise it. "Enjoyable...? I like the sound o' that." He said before he looks back at Scealta with a smile and nod as the idea of 'enjoying' seemed to overtake his mid for a moment, his body seemed to get a little excited tingle.

Brjoll, Sentinel of Justice
The giant figure of bronze-colored metal stood motionless for a while as the gods met, his hollow skull completely dark.

However, when Dren spoke against Scealta, the white-hot flame of justice flared to life inside his cranium, the oldest god's selfishness and abrupt anger causing a certain irrational anger to bubble up inside of him. Of course, despite him just having been born recently, he was no fool, and would thus refrain from waging war with the void's omnipotence.

Brjoll still stood motionless, but he boomed some words in defiance of the blackness as mountains crept up his boot:
"Thou hast forfeited thine solitude by choice, perhaps Creation may reap rewards if thou wouldst discover satisfaction in Infinity."

With his rebuttal declared, his burning eye lowered, to communicate his gazing over of Dagon's landscaping. Brjoll had an idea. His arm moved next, reaching forward. He summoned a giant rectangular shape, attached to a smaller cylindrical handle in what could be considered Creation's first sword, though it wasn't purposed for combat yet. The God of Justice dropped the blade into a ravine of his choice, and with a crack, the ravine deepened to absurd depths. This was where he'd put things that particularly displeased him. Its name would be the Luminare Inanis.

Ly'kin, the All-Knowing
The mass of metal, wires and gears looked on as his fellow deities came into existence and gave their piece to the conversation. Agreeing with Scealta's notion, the mechanical being crossed his arms and thought on what he should do with his piece of the platform. Then, an idea came to him, as he opened his arms once more and held his hands flat a few spaces away from each other. Right in the centre distance between the two, a white light begun gathering, various symbols just floating about within- and around it. Ly'kin had created a mathematical formula, having compacted his knowledge and science into a sphere of elder equations and calculations.

" Agreed. I believe it is about time to create some change. "

Ly'kin had tossed the equation onto the platform beneath him, the formula sphere sinking into the light barrier, giving it a white glow and causing it to change shape. First, it created a vast plain, black in colour, with neon lines of different colours darting across the ground. Then, it created a sort of trees and other plant life, all twisted in some form or shape and almost entirely without edges, either being made of rectangles, squares and/or other shapes. All were black in colour, with what looked like an outline, each a different colour for each plant. Then the mountains came along, which looked more like giant pyramids and, like the vast plain of neon and darkness, they were entirely black in colour with outlines of varying colours. Cliffs and Crevices leading into an underground area would spew the same neon colours in the form of glowing energies as was present within the upper ground's surface. However, within the centre of a large, colour-changing and glowing lake, on an even bigger island, Ly'kin formed a big monument. Several large rectangles of varying lengths and sizes, each attached to one another and reaching far above. Each rectangle was a different neon colour, albeit none of them were glowing as much as the other neons. This patch of land would be Ly'kin's Sanctuary, where he'd reside in and where he'd forge his own creations.

Seemingly satisfied with his lands as of right now, the elder god had created another formula, this time tossing it into the platform once more but the white energy dispersing across the entire thing, affecting both his own creation, Dagon's and anyone else's should they create something from it. With a nod towards the others, Ly'kin spoke up to re-assure that he had no intention on interfering with everyone else's creation plans.

" Be assured, I don't mean to intrude on anyone's plans. I simply applied logic and meaning to any present and future creations. Things for the mortals to discover and learn. That is all. "

With this, the mechanical god turned back to his creation and stared at it, pondering on where he wants changes and what other factors he'd consider for it.

Degan
Degan bent over, pulling Ly'Kins code from the ground, glancing it over before summoning a 13 sided metal shape, inscribing the entire code onto the metal before letting the code go. She planned to subvert this code in the future, but for now it was time to build. She placed a hand on the ground, a small pulse causing the ground to become even more irregular, the texture of smoothness and roughness being spread across every surface on the disk. Gemstones and metal occasionally popping up on the surface.
