Private/Closed Paragons Rising - An Official Reboot (Discussion)

paragon deez nuts run it back

- - -

(Unfortunately, this RP will be limited to members of the previous two acts of the Paragons story so as to alleviate previous issues with overcrowded plotlines and areas.)

Welcome to the completely new, 100% original, ONLY iteration of the world of the Paragons. It's inspired by most superhero media, ranging from everything Marvel, to DC, to even The Boys. This world, however, is set in our future. A future in which superhuman populace increased by the millions for seemingly no reason at all. Before there were superheroes, there were comics. Games. Movies. Characters like Superman, Spider-Man, and Batman are all a part of this world, but only as fictional characters. This branch of media died out when real superhumans took to the skies and streets.

There are limitations for your supers- though not many. In order to avoid OP Mary Sues completely breaking any and all story potential because of Superman-like qualities, these limitations must be made prominent.

2 characters MAX
No world-breakers or above.
No reality-warpers.
No realm-walkers.
And DEFINITELY no instakill powers.
Try to at least be a little creative when coming up with your powers- but don't worry. It's okay to use already created concepts. It isn't even frowned upon.
The world of the Paragons is so far unfilled and full of plenty of potential- potential for all to help fulfill. This world will become yours just as much as it is ours. Feel free to create your own locations, NPCs, history... just don't go too crazy.

Keep in mind, your character doesn't even have to be a super. You can be a brilliant engineer, and create your own suits of armor. You could be a mad scientist and create an army of robots to do your bidding. You can even be just a guy off the street who ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time- possibilities are endless!

The Alright Attorney

Previously AlrightAttorney
Name: Alan Martinson

Alias: Formerly The Adapter, currently uses the fake name Martin or the alias Scrapper

Age: 33

Gender: Male

Appearance: In the ten years since he lost his alien suit and practically disappeared off the face of the planet, Alan has definitely grown a bit more desheveled. His once bare face had grown a fairly thick brown beard, and his hair grew down to about the middle of his neck. Adding on a pair of dark sunglasses he usually wears, he is practically unrecognizable as the former Champion.

Living in hiding means he has to deal with what he can for clothes, usually opting for darker long clothes to help keep him hidden. At the moment he has a dark blue coat over a solid grey hoodie with black jeans and work boots. His left hand is never seen without a glove over it.

Underneath lies his mechanical arm, but it's significantly less impressive than the one he had years ago when he lost it. While his first was made with the highest quality material a high end tech company could afford, this one looked like it could come off at any moment, built haphazardly with whatever material Alan could get his hand on. It functions as well as any regular arm can though thankfully.

Personality: Alan's typical goody two shoes heroic persona died years ago, leaving behind a man who wants to do the right thing but feels powerless in his current position. Alan barely interacts with others, but when he does it can be barely considered a conversation. He tells them the gist of what they need to know in the smallest amount of words he possibly can.

His feelings regarding superheroes and teams are complicated, feeling both a need to use what little abilities he has left to save people, but also feeling like he's better off not being around others. While he tries to focus on his own survival and not get into conflict, he sometimes does let his former heroic nature get the better of him and try to help people that might be in danger.

Powers: At the moment, Alan doesn't actually have any powers due to his seperation from the alien life form that actually gave him his abilities. Instead, Alan relies on his wits and gadget making skills to make anything to protect himself of attack others. His main gadgets at the moment are a watch that when pressed can expand into a full shield that covers his left arm, and a sonic blaster, shooting out either small sonic blasts, or can fire a more attack with a wider range. He can't use it for long of course, or else the battery will die and will have to recharge. He's also used different types of home made grenades, with different qualities. Sonic ones, smoke bombs, fire based. They are of course unusable after the explosion, so if he wants to use more he needs to get the materials to make them.

Backstory: The story of Alan Martinson is not an interesting one. He grew up as an regular person in this day and age. Often he would pour over old comics and movies, learning about what heroes are meant to be like from them, always considering them inspirations in his life. Eventually Alan at the age of 21 found himself working at a high end tech company, designing home entertainment products like televisions and speakers. It was here that he would suffer an accident causing him to lose his left arm. It would eventually get replaced by a mechanical one he designed himself in the lab.

However, something far darker was happening in the background of this company. Seeking alternative sources of power, the company turned their attention towards the skies. After a successful launch and return from one of their experimental rockets, they returned with a living being, something that was as powerful as it was deadly. It appeared as a sort of grayish goop. Every test under the sun was done to it, seeing if they could some how create power from it.

Eventually, after months of testing, the creature's rage towards the humans that captured it caused it to finally break loose. Weak, and trying to find a source of power, it scurried around the building, eventually finding a speaker in the home entertainment division. It merged with the speaker, giving it somewhere to hide as well as a chance to recharge itself. Alan of course had no idea what laid inside the experimental speaker he had been working on, and when he reached down to grab it with his mechanical arm, he never expected the Alien life form to latch onto him, and take complete control of his body. With a host, and new powers thanks to adapting the speaker, the Alien laid waste to the building, before eventually getting stopped by a group of heroes, known only as The Champions.

Alan was given back control, and despite numerous tests, they could find no way to remove the Alien from Alan's arm. So instead of living his life, afraid of this creature and power that lurked within himself, he looked back at the comics that inspired him, and spent the coming months to training himself and learning how to control the abilities of the alien. Eventually the Alien grew accustomed to living with the human that kept it safe, and though it never spoke, it's shown it's appreciation by keeping Alan safe from harm.

Eventually, Alan joined the same heroes that saved him. At the young age of 23, the former scientist became one of The Champions. However, hero life wasn't all that great all the time. He was the lowest on the pecking order, often being forgotten, or just not really bothered with much of the time by his more senior heroes. Despite it all, Alan worked tirelessly, wanting to be the best hero he could be. It was his childhood dream after all, right? Unfortunately, reality came crashing down, shattering that dream to pieces. All the Champions found themselves called out to fight an unknown enemy, only for when they arrived no one to be there. Instead, all Alan remembers is his vision going dark, passing out. When he finally came to, the once powerful superhero team was dead all around him, and Alan's arm that housed the alien life form was no where to be seen.

Now Alan was without his powers and the alien without a host to properly use the full extent of his powers. In the years since, Alan has done his best to stay in hiding, creating a new arm out of whatever tech he found in New York city and creating any gadgets to keep him safe. He lives in hiding, just trying to survive and doing what he can to find the other half of the hero Adapter. Maybe then, they'll both find the belonging they've been looking for.

The Dark Fairy

Previously Eliiiscool
Real Name: Kerco Kovich

Alias: The Forgotten/Aroto

Age/Gender: ??? Male

Race: Human

Alignment: True neutral

Personality: Very fluid and pleasant, knows his way around people, and very hard to get visibly mad.

Flaws: Other than training, he has no physical defense.

Powers:

Ageless: His cells regenerate fast enough to counteract the deterioration of his body, but not to give super-healing

Erasure: The ability to immediately wipe the memory of an interaction afterward, as soon as he leaves the sight of the individual he can choose what to erase and what to leave. The memories are completely gone.

Amnesia: This ability is harder for him to do, though he can spend a bit of time completely erase the memory of himself from someone's head

Low Imprint: Due to a device on him, cameras, audio recorders, and any other recorder(Tape recorders, cameras, biometric eyes/other augments, computer cameras, olfactory, touch sensors, etc[Technology can not stop Kerco!]) can not pick him up if he does not want them to and mixed with his powers, he can erase himself from records. (This also includes context clues, no “The dust is moving” or whatever.)

Backstory: Since the rise of superheroes, Kerco has somewhat resented them, many thinking of them as gods, although really they had just grown out of control, like weeds. He intended to cut back those weeds, one way or another, giving control of the world back to those who have none of the advantages supers have been graced with. This goal has evolved in many ways, and while he has warmed up to superheroes somewhat, he still wants to help those without.

Other: The device Kerco uses to avoid cameras was made to attach to his face, though an incident burned it to his face, making it permanently a part of him, though no one knows about the device, as its creator died and he never shared, so no one knows that the metal on his face does what it does. It’s on the right side of his face, goes around(Not all the way around) his eye, and stays right if his mouth down to his chin

Name:Amanda

Alias (if applicable): Triplets

Age: Unknown/Variable

Gender: Female

Appearance: Amanda has several forms/bodies. Her main bodies are Caucasian, with straight black hair. She has blue eyes, small eyes, and nose. Her main bodies stand 5’4” to 5’ 10”

Personality: Amanda is very outwardly friendly and playful, though she is extremely intelligent, and hard to trick.

Powers:

Triality: Amanda’s mind is split up between multiple bodies, and she can control everybody independently. (This is not a hivemind, it is one mind, having complete and original control over multiple bodies, controlling them like limbs) This effect is nonmagical, and can not be cut off without killing her body. She has several bodies, though she normally only brings three to the paragon/superhero business, and her identity is only known to have three.
This gives her the advantage of several brains worth of thinking power(Though not 100% of it as they are doing other things).
She can get new bodies, but this is not quick or easy enough to be a solution to most problems, this also prevents her from just deciding to throw bodies at a problem.
Due to her control over multiple brains, she has a much stronger mind than probably anyone, making her resistant to mind control and its effects
She can technically sever a body from herself, but it’s not easy, and certainly excruciatingly painful

Master of deception:
As she is used to, and actively lives several lives at once, she knows how to call upon many backstories, either fabricated or true to defend herself or weave a completely believable story. She gives no outward appearance of such deceptions, and any nervous ticks she has trained herself to use another body to perform.

Tracker:
Not technically a superpower, but due to the spread-out nature of her senses, she has an easy time covertly tracking people, which is sometimes expressed as an inexplicable knowledge.

Super strength/Martial arts:
Amanda has captain America type strength and martial skills.

Ageless:
Because I said so. (Though seriously, her body does have decreased aging, she can gain new bodies to use, so she is in a sense immortal)

Backstory (optional if to be developed later): Amanda was visited early in life(Before birth) by an extra-dimensional being that is similar to her, and wanted to cause this to her for their own reasons. She was born triplets, but has since gained new bodies in various ways. She has taken up a few jobs, runs an entire growing business where she is the only employee and is dabbling in the superhero world.
Some notable jobs outside superhero and self ran business would include; Police, Paramedic, Astronaut, worker at Warren industries, barber and tailor.

Name: William Long | Eve

Alias: N/A

Age: 20 | 12

Gender: Male | Genderless(Synthesized female voice)

Appearance: William is 1.72 meters tall, he has short black hair and dark brown eyes. He is of Chinese descend. William usually wears a black hooded jacket over a grey t-shirt, black pants with many pockets and black running shoes. Eve is a mass of navy blue goop like substance that had bonded with William and now resides inside his body.

Personality: William is a socially awkward man in his early twenties with little to no skill when it comes to conversations. He is very minimalistic, fully content to live off the bare minimum. William has a very optimistic attitude, always looking for the best of a situation. He doesn't like to dwell on what moments that have passed, though he can't stop himself from looking back on past regrets from time to time. Eve on the other hand, acts like an overly excitable child. She is always looking for anything new and exciting to do and will often act impulsively. Despite this, Eve is a highly intelligent AI who is capable of making level headed decisions when she isn't distracted. She can also appear emotionless at times.

Powers: Alien goo suit - Eve's malleable composition allows her to cover William's body and form a featureless dark navy blue body suit. Over time, the suit has bonded with William on a biological level. The suit's shape can be shifted on command from both individuals. This suit give William an assortment of abilities:

Enhanced Physical abilities: The suit increases William's strength, speed, reaction speed and endurance up to superhuman levels depending what had been absorbed.

Enhanced Healing: The slimy costume is able to quickly repair small damage done to it or its wearer, bigger wounds would take longer to heal. Eve can't regrow mutilated limbs but she can reattach one if it is recovered. She can't do anything if the brain becomes damaged beyond repair or replace lost blood.

Camouflage: The goo costume can change its colors, blending in with its surroundings and hiding itself in plain sight.

Shape Shifting: As mentioned above, the suit is malleable and can easily change its shape. The shifting is limited to extending limbs, growing more arms or tendrils on the body and basic shape transformations. The suit can detach itself partially or completely from William in order to perform more high level shape shifting, however that will leave William mostly defenseless.

Absorption: Perhaps the alien substance's greatest power, the suit can absorb nonliving matter it comes in contact with into its own mass. Once absorbed, the slime is able to assimilate the properties of the the material in order to strengthen the suit's own composition. The suit also appears to be able to mimic any technology that gets absorbed. This vast evolution potential means that the suit has the possibility to turn it into a truly versatile and dangerous weapon if left unchecked.

Backstory: You could say Williams was at the right place at the right time. One day, on his way home, William walked by a car accident where a large truck appeared to have tipped over. Not having anything to do with it, the man decided to walk pass it. After moving off the main road, William made his way down an alleyway leading to him apartment. However, along the way, he saw something slighter from the corner of his eye. Assuming it was simply a raccoon or a squirrel, William didn't pay it any mind as he entered his apartment building and went to sleep.

The next morning, the man woke up to what sounded like a woman's voice talking to him. Justifiably confused, William began searching for who was talking before the voice revealed that it was coming from inside his head. Turns out, the car accident from the day prior involved a government truck carrying a mass of alien substance.

This substance had been discovered a few months ago on a crashed meteorite, which was immediately taken in and studied. It was then discovered that the gooey mass had a sort of instinctual and primitive sentience, compelling it to consume anything around it to grow. In order to keep the otherworldly slime from going out control, an AI was developed and subsequently allowed to be absorbed by the goo to give it a higher level sentience that could be reasoned with. That AI being Eve, the voice inside William's head.

The AI was unhappy being locked up in testing facility all the time and being treated as an object, so when she was being transported to another location, she took the opportunity of low security to cause an accident and break out.

When asked why she had decided to attach herself to William, Eve replied bluntly that it she simply chose a passerby on a whim. It could have been anyone and it seemed William was the lucky host. Initially unwilling to get involved in a conspiracy such as this, William was swayed when Eve informed him that he would probably be imprisoned if not killed if it was found out that he had contact with a government secret project. Thus began the very odd and forced cooperation between the two beings.

Since I'm rebuilding this off my old character sheet there might be places that are awkward to read and if there is any continuity error please let me know.

Her father had been out with the remaining gang members and returned to find Amy bawling her eyes out in the burnt remains of the building. Mostly re-used the old bio, so if some mistakes are here and there, that's why.

Name: Terry Hagen

Alias: Mr. Miracle

Age: 32

Gender: Male

Race: Caucasian - Australian

Appearance: Terry has parted, flowing chocolate-brown hair that ends in the back with a pony tail, befitting of a man of his job description. His topaz-yellow eyes glimmer with glee as he takes great enjoyment from his lives, both as a hero and as an entertainer. Though he does less so in casual, when dressed as Mr. Miracle, you can usually catch a joyful smile on his face. His body is of a semi-muscular physique, not all too much muscle but not all too skinny either. It wasn't much training that Terry did, but it was just enough to handle CQC well enough. Lastly, Terry stands at 5'8 ft tall and has a simple, albeit tanned caucasian complexion.

As a civilian, Terry wears a simple black, puffy jacket over a white shirt, usually with the hood of jacket up over his head. For legwear, Terry wears simple blue, ripped jeans with white, long socks under black shoes. A pretty generic getup, but one that Terry likes to wear the most when it comes to casual wear.

Mr. Miracle has a pretty self-explanatory getup. A black top hat with a red stripe, a black coat with a white shirt underneath and a red bowtie attached just below the collar of the shirt. A black mask over his face, covering just his eyes (Eye sockets included of course). Attached to the coat is a long, black cape that swings behind Mr. Miracle every time he moves, though he can remove- and re-attach it whenever he likes. For legwear, Mr. Miracle has simple black slacks with matching socks and shoes, overall giving the vigilante the look of a magician. Although all these clothes look normal, they are designed to not just be fire-proof, but also cut-proof. The shirt Mr. Miracle wears under his jacket acts more like a bullet vest, being able to reduce the blows of incoming gunfire at his chest. Notably, Mr. Miracle does not carry any of his gadgets on him at all times - rather, he summons them through his sleeve into his hands whenever they are required and just holds his arm up to slide them back down his sleeve to warp them back to their safely kept locations when he's done using any of them. His gadgets include: throwing cards, smoke bombs (whose only purpose so far has been to add more style to his vanishing and re-appearing), a grappling hook in the form of a long coil of sturdy, fire-resistant and colourful fabric tied together, fake flowers with a mini spy camera planted in between the petals, a metallic rose pin with a hidden button that activates a small, yet powerful flashlight within and, of course, his calling 'cards' which are actually devices that are programmed to send a distress signal over to the nearest police station, which Mr. Miracle uses often to signal police to detain the criminals he incapacitated.

Personality: As simply himself, Terry is a chillax kind of guy. Not at all amped up like his alter-ego or as charismatic as during his performances, Terry just uses his off time to cool down and really just relax. For him, the confident and happy-go-lucky Mr. Miracle is just like an on/off switch for him. And, as expected with his alter-ego, Mr. Miracle is the complete opposite personality: optimistic, joyful, just about the same personality as the classic comic book hero.

Powers:
Magic - Though he simply calls it 'Magic', there really is no other way to describe his power. Terry's power grants him the ability to turn the acts of magic from illusion to reality via magical essence that automatically generates inside his body - he can cover something to make it disappear, can make things re-appear from any cover, use either his hands or his magic wand to remotely move things and more. To make it simpler to understand while explaining it to others, he often splits his powers up into different categories:

Magic Fingers - As Terry's body generates the essence, it also acts as a conductor for his power, allowing him to shoot the magical essence that his body out of his fingers in the form of colourful magic orbs (AKA 'magic missiles') that explode like a firework rocket on impact. However, this is only the secondary use of this category, as its primary use allows Terry to imbue his hands with his magic essence, allowing him to move things in a short radius around him by pointing a finger at it, as if he were using telekinesis. A major flaw of this power is that Terry can only pick up objects and energies when knowing where they are and that they're in his range - meaning he can neither pick up other creatures, people or objects heavier than what he could normally carry, nor move things outside of his range or things that he doesn't know the location of. Though Terry's range with his hands are limited, it can be extended from a small radius to moderate via using his trusty magic wand as a conduit instead.

Vanishing Act - The baseline performances of any magician - making things disappear and re-appear. The most obvious weakness to this is that he can't just make things dis-/re-appear out of thin air, he needs them to be behind any kind of cover, which could range from inside something to just simply behind something. The general rule is also that he needs an appropriately-sized cover to make large things appear - he can't just materialize a whole drum set out of his hat or something. Terry would need to know a location to make things disappear to and if something is moved somewhere other than where he remembers it being, Terry won't be able to bring the thing back to him. Naturally, this power is not just useful for storing things, but also for quickly travelling somewhere via teleportation. Although this category does have a big range in terms of teleportation, he can't just warp someone into space, into solid ground, under water or into another continent, naturally.

Magic Charm - Terry uses the magic essence he generates to affect his body in two ways: by simply charging his body with it, he can propel himself through the air, allowing levitation and free flight. But, by thinking up of an animal that is no bigger than a rhino and no smaller than a cockroach, he can turn into it by morphing his body with his magic essence, though he cannot transform instantly. Often, Terry uses this power more to be flashy than anything, taking most people he meets by surprise by transforming back into a human in front of their eyes or by just simply hovering above the ground while lying down. Though it seems to be more of a passive effect than an actual ability Terry is willingly using, his magic essence also appears to be halting his aging process, keeping his body at its prime appearance despite his age. After all, how can it be called Magic Charm if doesn't allow Hagen to keep his own?

Backstory:
Terry Hagen grew up in Melbourne, Victoria in Australia. Being born into a family of various entertainers with his talent of generating magic essence, Terry was born to become a magician. However, fun as it at first was being an actual, legitimate magician, Terry wanted something more. Something more meaningful. Something that could he really could be remembered by. So, Terry ended up going on tour while he was a teenager, ending up in America and decided to permanently move there.

The work of heroes and vigilantes had always inspired him when it came onto the news and headlines of papers. So, Terry ended up deciding that he wanted to become a vigilante himself, researching all the things he needed and using his money acquired as an entertainer to buy himself proper vigilante equipment, which included his gadgets and his costume. Terry ended up mixing his work and hobby together, adapting his name as a magician to his name as a vigilante and put on a show for the bystanders while doing any kind of work as a hero. Now, with being able to show off his acts anywhere and do good at the same time, Terry was certain that his legacy was cemented for years to come if he would just keep doing everything with a confident smile and an optimistic outlook.

Name: Grayson Everest

Alias: N/A (Eventually Patriot)

Age: 30

Gender: Male

Appearance: 1.95 meters tall. Pale-pink skin, dirty blonde, almost brown hair, dark brown eyes, and accentuated features. Put simply, he's an attractive individual, capable of making eyes turn his way without needing to do anything, with perfect white teeth to flash, an immaculate dimpled smile, and a lean build of muscle.

unknown.png

Personality: Confused is a good way to sum it up. Grayson may be 30, but he was never allowed to emotionally mature half his life ago, leading to a stunted complex having grown within him. Specifically, his moral compass was never fully refined, and he's developed some sociopathic tendencies. While his time spent living with an adoptive family on an American farm was short, it was necessary to keep the young man in line. While he doesn't handle pressure or stress well, and is also a self-serving narcissist, Grayson actively tries to be a sympathetic individual as best as he can, though this oftentimes means he's using it as an act to put on a show of good will so that will people will like him, and not because he actually sympathizes with his own actions.

Powers: Having had his genes so severely spliced among other superhuman DNA, Grayson has developed a multitude of powers and abilities most closely associated with beings like Superman, a character Grayson had heard of when learning about comic books, though he's never read one.

Superhuman Flight: Grayson is capable of seamless flight, lifting weightlessly into the air, or propelling himself this way and that with practiced speed. His flight speed is greater than that of his running speed, which is fine with him. Why run when you can fly?

Superhuman Characteristics: Grayson has incredible strength and durability, bending steel with ease and being resistant to most attacks, though he's not immune. He also can use his powerful lungs to blow intense gusts of high-powered wind, he can hold his breath for days at a time, and his iron stomach can consume basically anything he eats.

Superhuman Senses: Grayson has insane senses, capable of hearing a pin drop miles away, being able to see just as far, he can smell chemicals and toxins so vividly that he outpaces most animals, and even his taste buds can detect more than any human could hope for. The only sense of his not superhuman is his touch, as he actually has a plethora of dead nerves, making Grayson incapable of feeling anything on most parts of his body.

Heat Vision: Grayson can fire beams of ocular lasers that burn hot enough to melt steel, given a few seconds to do so. While not hot enough to disintegrate most things, they are still a powerful cutting tool, and with super sight, Grayson can make surgical slices with his heat vision, capable of condensing it into microscopic beams, or enlarging them into pulses of energy that engulf much of the area in front of him.

Super-Speed: Grayson is capable of moving at insane speeds, his top recorded speed being an 8 hour trip to get from Earth to Mars and back, using his flight. His running speeds make him capable of being almost unseeable to the naked eye, just as a blur in the peripheral, and his combat speed is much the same, though Grayson hasn't invested in martial arts, so his fighting style would mostly consist of a bunch of uncoordinated punching.

Backstory: Grayson Warren was the child of a billionaire named Charles Warren, a fellow who loved adventure, exploration, and mystery, something he shared with his wife and son, but one tragic event changed everything. Exploring an underground village, a tunnel collapsed and killed the young Grayson at the age of 12 in 1995. Warren fell into a deep depression, and began to invest all of his funds into sciences once thought fictional. If it wasn't for the DNA of supers, Warren would have failed, but due to gene splicing, he not only resurrected his son, but he had created the ultimate super.

It may have taken just one year for the new Grayson to be born, but after trial and error, and so much blood, the grieving Warren became cold and distant, abandoning his humanity to give his dead son new life, but upon seeing that the new Grayson was not the one he'd lost, Warren instead abandoned his prior identity to instead focus on continuing his inhumane experiments. Grayson grew up in these experiments, until he was 15, in 2011, when he escaped the facility.

Almost poetically, Grayson's first stop to collect himself was a small farm in rural Georgia. There, the farmer and his wife offered shelter, as well as something Grayson had never known: love. He stayed, and they adopted him, despite the fact that they never learned of his true identity. He kept the name Grayson, but he adopted their surname of Everest. Grayson went on to get a GED, attend college and graduate with a bachelor's in Sociology. All this time, he tried to conceal his superhuman identity, scraping by with close calls, but when he was 24 years old in 2020, he was attacked by a being he did not know, who could match him blow for blow. This assailant was sent from Warren as a test, the old man believing he'd already created a replacement for his new son. Ultimately, Grayson destroyed the new vat-grown being, being his first person he'd directly killed.

Grayson knew he should have been remorseful at claiming life, but he found he enjoyed it. Understanding how others would react, he hid this fact, instead concealing the body and covering up everything he could, while Warren continued to plot in the background. It wasn't until recently that Grayson made the connection to Warren, and ever since, he's been plotting of ways to usurp control from his father, kill him, then never be plagued by his existence ever again.

Name: Aleksy Leon Borowicz

Alias: N/A (He has no interest in this, but may adopt a name should somebody give him a befitting one)

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Appearance: 1.92 meters tall. Olive-pale skin, dark brown hair, and light hazel eyes, with considerably generic features. At first glance, he's somebody you pay no attention to and forget about. There's nothing particularly notable about him worth remembering, a footnote in the sea of faces seen each day, if even that. While he is fairly lean and fit, he has a malnourished, almost stunted look about him. The first word that might come to mind upon seeing him would be "homeless".

unknown.png

Personality: A quiet and reserved individual, Aleksy likes to keep his opinions to himself, considering that's the only thing he knows he holds any real control over. He's self-taught, and a very bright individual---but when he does speak up, it's usually in tandem with his desire to start throwing hands. He's extreme in his ideals, which are his drive and dictate his every decision. Aleksy has begun to believe that humans and supers need to be separated, that supers should either rule over the world, or abandon it for the humans to continue to destroy it. He hates humanity for a multitude of reasons, and while he cares for all supers, he's not afraid of brutalizing another should they mean him harm, or mean harm to what he cares about.

Powers: Born with his abilities, they manifested at an early age, and he also became adept at using them when he was young. Most accurately, Aleksy is shown to have psychokinetic powers and abilities.

Psychic Manipulation: Aleksy can lift objects with his mind, manifest his psychic energy into physical objects, attacks, or barriers, read or manipulate minds, heal or encourage mental traumas, and even mentally encourage another mind to collapse a function, fall into a comma, or become brain dead. Of course, most of these are powers he has not yet tapped into and/or hasn't grown the ability to use. At the moment, he's limited to the non-OP abilities. He also has some elemental manipulation, using his psychic power to alter lightning, fire, water, and the likes. In theory, Aleksy could even transmute objects if he became powerful enough (a form of instant transfiguration, like turning water into wine, or turning a boulder into a donkey).

Extrasensory Perception: Aleksy can predict attacks, words, or even thoughts due to his mental precognition. He is also capable of interacting with the world while dreaming, be that using astral projection, or even clairvoyance, able to see visions of past, current, or future events in his dreams, though he doesn't often remember them, or pay attention to them. However, he can delve into his own mind to surgically pick out relevant memories if he wishes.

Mental Durability and Resistance: Aleksy may not be as powerful as his potential implies, and while his ability to control one's mind requires a mind to first be susceptible and less resistant, Aleksy himself has certain mental resistances and immunities. He can resist other psychic attacks or control against him, and is also immune to attempts at altering his mind, thoughts, and/or memories, making his mind an almost impenetrable steel trap for knowledge, something he holds with more value than anything else.

Backstory: Born in 2001 in Poland, what was supposed to be a humble life was uprooted when a group of people somehow learned of Aleksy's superhuman genes. This resulted in his abduction, though his parents tried to fight the kidnappers, resulting in the death of his father. Aleksy had been just three years old, and he was institutionalized by this group, made to perform experiments. It was because of them that Aleksy's powers developed and grew at such an early age, their pushing him to be better and do better. They even brought his mother in to see him when he was nine, then killed her in front of him. Their message was simple: you belong to us.

When Aleksy was 12, in 2013, he was used as a tool by this organization, which he would later learn was a political party called "The Socialists of National Poland", SNP, or by their more commonly used name; Synop. In a staged coup to seize political power, the Synops used Aleksy as well as several other children with powers they'd captured, forcing what they called their "pets" to murder and brutalize political leaders behind the scenes. However, the policja were able to stop the coup, resulting in 13 Synop deaths, as well as the deaths or injuries of most of the superhuman children. Aleksy himself, had been shot in the side, and left for dead by the Synops.

The boy fell into a coma, awakening a few months later. When he learned about all that had happened, the boy used his powers to manipulate a Polish intelligence agent who had approached him for questions into leading the young Aleksy into seeking out each remaining high-ranking member of the Synop party. In his cold fury, Alesky murdered each member one by one, until he was satisfied.

He left his forced ally, abandoning Poland behind as he traveled from country to country, fostering ideas, until he eventually wound his way into America in 2022, beginning to follow a growing faction called the Superhuman Rights Agency, the SRA. Aleksy has begun to attend rallys, his own mindset becoming more solidified as he grows a hatred for humanity, in retrospect of all he's experienced and done. While he hasn't yet gathered the personal courage to speak, those that have heard Aleksy's passionate words have told him of his skills as an orator. While he has not yet decided on it, Aleksy is beginning to believe in starting his own faction of more radical superhumans, who instead of talking about things being better for the clearly superior species, he will act on his words.

Name: Lukas "Luke" Evermoore

Alias: "Dreamcatcher"

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Appearance: Lukas is a young man with a short complexion, being only 5'1. He has peachy skin, with light blonde hair, which is normally shaggy in appearance, along with light brown eyes. He wears a light blue shirt, with a purple gradient below while having a moon design on the front. He wears dark blue pants, while dark purple shoes.

Personality: An enthusiastic young man, Lukas is nothing far from energetic, and loves getting into things headfirst. You could easily sum it up as childish behavior though. He isn't afraid to express his opinions and is pretty reckless in what he does. But he does sometimes think of what to do next, and he can easily be reasoned with.

Powers:
Dreamer: Lukas is able to see dreams of other people, and enter people's dreams using a magical hallway which leads to a few rooms. One leading to a room filled with jars, with black slime inside. The room was a collection of children's nightmares that Lukas catches. The other room is a hallway, which is where he enters dreams through.

He also has a glittery dust, called "Dream Dust" that can be used to incapacitate nightmares, and make people fall asleep. Along with it, he is able to summon a golden lasso, which not only can be used to capture nightmares, but can incapacitate whoever is caught. He can also released already caught monsters as tamed nightmares that Lukas can use to his advantage in battle. He can also summon the jars without going into the hallway itself.

Teleportation: As basic as teleportation gets. Lukas is able to teleport wherever he wants.

Backstory: Lukas was a imaginative kid back in the day, always drawing his dreams and loved to imagine them. Soon one night, he was coming outside of his room, as he needed something to drink. When he opened his door, he found himself in a hallway, which didn't look like his hallway. He went through the hallway with many doors to find out that he wasn't in a normal hallway, but it was a hallway leading to other people's dreams. Being the curious child he was, he entered each and every door to see lots of dreams.

Lukas did this every night, until he found out that he had the powers to remove nightmares from the dreams of children, with him always being seen in children's dreams. He was given the name Dreamcatcher which was the name the kids called him, when they would see him in their dreams. Until now, Lukas has been catching a lot of nightmares since he was ten.

Name: Finley Nova, introduces herself as 'Fin'.

Alias: The Silent Scream

Age: 26

Gender: Female

Appearance: Five-foot-five, wiry from years of scraping by on a less-than-fulfilling diet, Fin does not look like a superhero. Plain-dressed, she is at first glance an everywoman, an extra paid no extra mind. Auburn hair of medium length is thrown into windblown waves, giving her a rather frazzled look, as if just electrocuted- and what words of often-felt fear her tongue does not spin is shown in downturned eyes. Behind hazel windows dwells many an emotion, often of pain and shock, hooded or wide. Time in shadows does not aid the colour of her complexion, pale to match the red of her hair- and though she is not exactly unhealthy-looking, it is clear Fin spends little time dwelling on how she looks.

Personality: Rather quiet and unassuming, one on the surface might assume Fin to be meek- and though she is jumpy and prone to reckless abandon, she is no shrinking violet. Capable of standing her ground, Fin has set beliefs that she keeps to, knowing truly what she wants- to help those who need it with the blessing/curse of her powers, and simultaneously to remain undetected lest she run the risk of being beholden to anyone. Fin greatly dislikes being told what to do, enjoying her agency. Any motivation she has to do anything is often murdered by obligation.
Observant and precise, there is a matter-of-factness about the fleeting communication that Fin offers; she says things as they are, as she seesthem. Decisive and logical, Fin considers herself honest above all else- though there is a pessimistic bias to her words, she claims there never would be. Pessimism has been bred by the life she has lived- by the life everyone has lived. She does not understand those who can see the light in everything.
This leads to curiosity, however. Fin has a buzz of curiosity often running through her blood, and often uses her naturally developed stealth to learn things, earning herself a taste for eavesdropping.
Still, despite a wordless demeanour, Fin is not unflappable- in fact she is quite easily scared. Rash decisions often end up getting her physically injured by her own powers, and her decisiveness can also mean that plans are poorly-thought-through. In combat this leads to her almost never being directly engaged.

Powers:
Finley's powers generally encompass psychic abilities, however almost all of them have quite a bite if poorly thought through.
  • Telekinesis, the ability to move objects without touching them. Anything heavier than the three small razor-knives kept on her person, Fin struggles with. She also cannot move more than three objects at one time.
  • Telepathy, the ability to project / see thoughts and images in the minds of others, is what she is most adept at. Fin uses it to speak sometimes, but saying too much/using it too often gives her a blinding migraine. She also utilises telepathy to dazzle her opponents with a flash of bright white light in their mind and create horrific, deafening screeches, temporarily blinding, deafening or simply disorientating them. More violent uses of her telepathy inflict a milder version of the effect upon herself.
  • Teleportation, the ability to instantaneously warp to a different location. Only works within a 2 metre radius; doing this too much induces a nosebleed, and teleporting too hurriedly can cause physical injury, as if leaving some of herself behind.
  • Shield; she can give invisible, impenetrable energy-like armour to a person of her choosing through touch, or herself. The shield has a durability based on her concentration levels when applied- it can last from around 10 seconds to approx. 2 minutes under constant stress (i.e in a battle). When the shield is broken it shatters into piercing pink shards, shrapnel that scatters and harms, as well as often giving Fin a surging headache.
  • Cleanse; Can mostly or even completely remove the pain of wounds from others, and stabilise them, though she herself feels all the pain that she takes away.

Backstory: Finley lived a loving but far from normal poverty-stricken childhood- an only child with a deceased father and an ill mother, they relied on odd jobs that Finley had to pick up from a young age, just about earning enough to keep their apartment in a crime-ridden part of town. Everything in their life changed again one evening, however.
Finley seriously injured her mother in a verbal argument when her powers manifested- a powerful, painful telepathic screech that accompanied her voice, and deafened her mother. Knowing her anger did such a thing to the woman she cared the most about, Fin resolved to control her powers, committing herself to silence and learning sign language. Fin's mother was a kind woman who understood that the permanent harm done to her was not intentional. Eventually she succumbed to her illness, dying when Fin was hardly twenty.
Since then Finley has been scraping by on her own, eventually landing an office job that is depressing and pays ill, but enough for her bills. What gives her life and will to go on is the vigilante work she has taken up. Originally, Fin intended to hide her superpowers, believing they would only cause harm- however, after successfully defending a business owner from a looter, all from afar with a telepathic flash of light, Fin developed a taste for helping. She mainly stuck to the neighbourhood she knew, defending silently- her developed skill in stealth and her wordless powers that can be used on sight alone have so far let her slip beneath the radar. With no superhero costume, no mask, Fin seems to onlookers a passerby who induces very sudden headaches.

Name: Shuzo Takeshi

Alias: Bloodbolt

Age: 30

Gender: Male

Appearance: Shuzo has a toned build, stands at 5 feet 10 inches, and often maintains a clean appearance in front of others in his normal life; however, beneath the facade that he has his life together that most see, his crimson eyes carry an intense, yet hollow void. The business casual clothes he wears in the daytime to blend in hide the numerous scars that mar his body, and the glasses and mask serve to further conceal his identity from any passersby.

download20220603233016.png

Personality: Shuzo lives his life purely out of obligation. Wherever he is, whatever he does, it’s not because he wants to or enjoys it--it’s because he’s needed. And because he’s needed, he fulfills his given task to utter completion, no loose ends. The only one he can trust is himself, and his obstinate perfectionism yields a quiet and serious demeanor with little room for outside input or assistance in his work.

Powers:

Electrokinesis - Shuzo can conjure and manipulate powerful bolts of crimson electricity, using it to heighten his senses and abilities to superhuman levels. Imbuing his limbs or weapons with lightning drastically enhances their strength, as well.

Superhuman fighting prowess - An extremely proficient martial artist, Shuzo is especially skilled in close quarters combat and the daisho blades he wields, skills that are even further bolstered when his electricity is harnessed.

Shuzo was born with his life planned out for him. Raised in a family of engineers, he was expected to follow in the footsteps of his parents, no questions asked. With the help of parents who were only concerned with their legacy and ancestry, his entire being was structured around his future career, leaving no space for any potential distractions, as was enforced by regular and harsh abuse, both physical and emotional. His student life consisted of nothing but hatred for himself, his family, and his future, leading him to unsuccessfully attempt suicide multiple times in his childhood and teenage years.

However, in an ironic twist of fate, Shuzo’s parents were tragically killed in a nuclear engineering disaster shortly after he received an acceptance letter from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Hollowed out by the sudden loss, he was left unsure of what to feel. Pain? Turmoil?... Relief? Amidst his state of emotional chaos, Shuzo soon came to the realization that he had now lost nearly everything and everyone that had made him who he was, and in accepting this revelation, he saw no other option than to return to the one thing he still had: the life he’d so resented, yet the only one he knew. And he pressed on.

Shuzo would then proceed to receive his Master’s in Electrical Engineering from MIT, still as empty as he’d always been, chained to the last core facet of his being that he had left. His unhealthy work ethics naturally carried into his career, garnering the reasonable concern of both his coworkers and employer. Despite numerous confrontations and suggestions to take a break, Shuzo ignored their sympathies and continued to push himself without compromise, working overtime every day out of an obligation to do whatever he could and do it as soon as possible. After all, that was how he was taught to complete what was asked of him.

One fateful day, the exhaustion brought by overworking himself caught up with Shuzo while working an assignment during the late night, as he overlooked an extremely dangerous fault in the highly volatile system he’d been working on. He’d been the only one in the building when the mechanism subsequently exploded, sending the industrial plant up in smoke, flames, and debris, but leaving no body to be found. That was the last time anyone had seen Shuzo Takeshi in the last five years.

In recent weeks, reports have been made sighting members of known criminal groups in rather brutal scenes; though no one has sighted the perpetrator cutting down organized crime in such a bloody way, the few civilians who could barely make out the occasions in real time mentioned an unnatural crash of intense, scarlet lightning near the sites.
