Chapter 1 ~ A Battle Once Lost
"In the blue corner, Leona, the challenger! And, in the red corner, Mysterial, the Colloseum Master! Grab you Pokeballs, and let the battle... BEGIN!" Yelled the commentator from high up above the crouds. Cheers and screems, whistles and yells, all heard above all other noise. The crowds went wild as Leona and Mysterial sent out there first Pokemon. Two beams of light transformed into a couple of little critters, eagerly waiting to fight eachother out.
"All right, Mysterial," Called Leona, a perky young girl, strong and athletic, sometimes too sure of herself. However, when it came to battling, seriousness and strategy where here main concerns. Leona was a champion, she had beaten the Elite 4, and also had all 5 ribbons. 1 from each major city, Hearthome, Floaroma, Solaceon, Veilstone and Pastoria. She was often on the news with her prize winning Pokemon team, Ben the Staraptor, Weavile, Palkia, Giratina, Terra the Salamence, and Heatran. There was one thing, however, that no matter how many times she tried, she just couldn't do.
Beat Mysterial.
A short, stubby man, Mysterial wasn't the Colloseum Leader of Stargazer Colloseum for nothing. He, too, had proven himself worthy of Legendary Pokemon, withought being beaten once. Leona didn't like being second. She was determined, this time, to get it right. "Your going down, this time!" She yelled. Mysterial merely sniggered and twizzled his curly moustache with his finger. "Weavile, stay put, don't move 'till I say so." Leona commanded. Weavile obediantley stood where he was, hardly moving an inch. Mysterial ordered his Lucario to go straight for Weavile, attacking with a Force-Palm. Weavile stay put untill the last moment, when he called upon a howling Blizzard, sending Lucario backwards. Weavile smiled and glared as Lucario struggled to get back up. Leona's Weavile took after Leona. Happy and gleefull, until a battle arose. Then, Weavile's charming attitude became more feirce, intent on destroying the opposistion. Leona enjoyed this, as it meant when she was at home, she could cuddle up with Weavile on the sofa, and in a Pokemon Battle, Weavile would win 90% of the time. Lucario attacked back with a homing attack, Aura Sphere. While it was true Weavile could not dodge the attack, it didn't mean he couldn't stop it. Weavile jumped over the Aura Sphere, which turned around in mid air, heading right back at him. Weavile's claws extended, glowing with blue energy. He ran at the Aura Sphere, slicing with enormous speed as he ran. They collided, forcing eachother backwards. The Aura Sphere turned to dust, and Weavile emerged, perfecly unharmed, claws still glowing. Lucario and Weavile ran at eachother, claws gleaming with energy. Weavile's Aerial Ace and Lucario's Metal Claw collided, spraying more dust across the arena. When the dust had faded and blown away, everyone gasped at what they saw. Weavile stood there, perfectly unharmed, growling at Lucario, who was knocked out on the floor. Mysterial gasped, then shook his head and returned his Lucario. Leona smiled as Weavile retracted his claws, proud with himself.
However, despite there best efforts, Leona and her team where beaten, again. Leona left the colloseum, heartbroken yet again, as her Weavile lay in her arms, just as blacked out as Lucario was. She hurried to the Pokemon Center, hoping that next time, she would win.
