Some really good descriptive terms in here; especially by describing Steelix as 'thunderous'. It's a little bit ambiguous, isn't it?
And I like how you've used Ash and Brock in this first chapter too!
Are you going to incorporate other characters from the manga/anime as you continue?
I love your writing style and how you give your characters different personalities~
