Secrets of the Divine

(This takes place in Sinnoh. Enjoy)

Raphael looked at the horizon, staring into the sunset until he couldn't see the black silhouette anymore. She had been here in Veilstone for two weeks: the most beautiful girl in the world, hands down. Raphael doubted if he would ever see her again.

Raphael had been in Veilstone for about a month now, his precognitive abilities told him to come here and wait for the person who could help him understand the true meaning behind life. Every day, he looked into the future and saw the same thing: a person, either male or female, it was hard to tell because it was blurry, would invite him on a journey into somewhere in Sinnoh, and in the process, give Raphael what he sought.

The sun finally set, allowing the street lights to come on. Veilstone always looked spectacular at night, and tonight was no exception. Raphael walked off towards the Pokemon Center, to see if any new Trainers had arrived while he was away. After sitting down in a chair in the corner, Raphael saw that he had a pretty good view of the entrance and the stairs that led to the rooms.

The sound of the electronic door sliding open drew Raphael's attention. Several Trainers walked in, and he knew that the one was among them. One of them walked towards him, and sat down in the chair opposite Raphael.

(OOC: yeah, i know it sucks. i just need someone to just play this trainer that walked in, so i can work off what they said. more people can join if they want, i really dont care)

(OOC: Here I come, to save the post! [sung to the tune of Mighty Mouse :D])

Jasper sat down across from Raphael. Jasper wore a dark suit with blue and red trim, his hair seemed to be locked in a position of being waved into the wind. Jasper's hair was about to his shoulders, at least it would be if his hair was down, almost glowing a silver color. He looked at Raphael and smiled.

In a rather calm, but amused voice, jasper mused, "So. You're the lovestruck one. My name is Jasper, and before you say anything, yes. I know why you're sitting in this pokemon center alone, waiting for the unknown trainer to come carry you away to a journey of self-enlightenment." He seemed to have an ambiance to him that Raphael just couldn't put his finger on. It was like reaching for smoke; you can see it, but can't quite get a feel of it. Jasper snickered a little and said to Raphael, "So, are you ready?"

The guy who sat down seemed to know exactly what Raphael wanted...it was a little bit creepy, to say the least, but a little bit reassuring. He had asked "Are you ready?" just as if they had known each other for years and had planned this for weeks.

"Yes, I am ready." Raphael answered easily. It seemed to partially come together a tiny bit more, a small piece of the much larger puzzle for this vision. And then it hit Raphael: another vision.

Raphael and Jasper ran through the woods, a female Trainer by their side. She seemed a little frightened. Whatever was chasing them was in luck: the three were trapped by a rock face. Grim tried to attack this creature from a distance, but the Flamethrower was cast aside as if it was nothing.

Raphael was suddenly brought back to reality, holding his head in his hands. Jasper looked as if he wanted to say something, but then everything went black.
(OOC: i'll eventually need some person with a female character to take part in this rp)

Jasper watched as Raphael fell unconscious on the floor. He let out a small sigh, as he stood up and picked Raphael up off of the ground and carried him out the door. It took Jasper a little effort to carry this young man, but luckily where they were going to start their journey was just down the road and around a corner.

With Rapahel in his arms, Jasper walked up to the Veilstone Game Corner, and set him down on a bench outside. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a pokeball. "Starmie, I need your help." He pushed the button on the outside of the red and white ball, and released the purple, star-shaped pokemon. "Drizzle a little water on our friend here. Time for him to start on his journey." Jasper said with a smile.

(OOC: Not my best, just trying to get it moving)

Raphael awoke, and for some reason, was wet. He looked up and saw Jasper standing a little ways away, a Starmie not to far away.
He looked around and noticed he was on a bench outside of the Veilstone Game Corner.

Raphael felt horrible, this had never happened before. He remembered the vision and knew he should tell Jasper, someone he knew he might be able to trust.

"I had a vision right before I fainted. I saw us traveling with a girl, well, running actually, but something was chasing us. It seemed dark and truly evil. It overcame us." Raphael was trying to look into Jasper's past, to see if he knew the girl, but nothing came. He didn't have enough energy to do a forced sight. Jasper just looked at him as though he knew...somehow.
(sorry for the tiny auto...hope you dont mind.)

(OOC: I don't mind auto-ing as long as you at least read the backstory of the character and understand it, as well as you're using it to advance the story. ;))

"Good to see you awake, young man. It suits you much better than passed out in my arms, so lets not try any more of "those" activies," Jasper said with a smile. "I highly reccomend you don't try any more of that around me at least. Our psychic energies would conflict, causing the less developed of our ablities to go haywire." At this point Jasper's knowing smile seemed to fade into a tone of seriousness. "I don't say this to insult you my boy but I'm almost twice your age and have had longer to develop my ability. I'm just letting you know this as I've known continued use to cause permanent brain damage." Jasper then let that smile show through again that just seemed to look like he was totally ready for whatever was about to happen.

"So, that brings us to why I brought you here to the Game Corner." Jasper said holding an outstreched arm. "But first, Starmie, come back my friend." With that the Starmie became a glowing red sillouhette that seemed to be sucked back into the ball. "Now. The Game Corner," Jasper winked Raphael's way to make sure the young, black haired man was still following him. "We're here to show you a little lesson. You go through life using your "abilities" to make sure you don't make any wrong decisions. I feel that's why you've never acted on your desire for this young lady you've had your eye on."

Jasper reached into his pocket and pulled out a coin case and handed it to Raphael. "Here. There's a voucher in there for 500 coins. I want you to walk to the first machine you see, and keep playing the slots until you've used all of those coins, or made double it." Raphael took the coins and looked at Jasper. Jasper then gave him that smile that even in the last hour or so, Raphael had gotten to know, when Jasper said, "Oh, and don't use your ability here. Go as aggressive as you can, and just enjoy yourself." Jasper turned to walk away and over his shoulder he said, "When you're done I'll come find you again, and we'll head out for the next part of your journey. Have fun Raphael."

(OOC: if you wanna RP digging into Jasper's backstory, its in the Character section. ;))

(Look no futher, I wanna Rp)

Katie glanced at the two guys who had entered the Game Corner. She herself was here to see if she could beg some bread off the store keeper, or maybe find some coins and hit the Jackpot useing her abilities. She walked up to counter and smiled cutely at the owner.

"Excuse me sir," She began, "but I was recently mugged and the thief stole all my money. May I have some food? Or if not that, maybe a coin or two?" Katie looked at the man hopefully.

The man face hardened and he yelled, "Do you think I'm a half wit!?! Tonnes of Kids have come in here with the same smile and same words, and I haven't fallen for a single one!!! Now, get out or I'll call the police!!!" He roared.

Seeing that it was useless, Katie left the shop with the look of a crying Eevee. She then reached out into eveyones minds and erased what had happened, but found that she couldn't effect the minds of the two guys she had seen earier. She peered in and walked up to the one on the machine and sat down next to him silently. After a few seconds of silence she tried to start a conversation.

"Hello there...I...ummmm..." Katie trailed off, not knowing what to say, then bolted outside to where Blaze was waiting.

Oh Blaze! She cried out with her mind, I am so hopeless!

Blaze looked at her and said No your not! It takes a lot of edge to defiy Clair like you did. Come on, lets find somewhere to sleep.

Katie jumped on Blaze's back and as Blaze took to the sky, she silently vowed that she would talk the the guys and find out what their secret abilities were.

Raphael entered the Game Corner as he was instructed, noticing a girl flying off on a Charizard. She looked a little familiar. He took a seat at one of the slot machines, which he had always hated, knowing how they corrupt people and make them waste their lives and money.

He put in three coins, the highest amount, and pulled the arm. The three wheels spun faster and faster, until they were just a blur. Tempting as it was to see when to pull again, Raphael had to resist. Jasper knew a lot more then he should, but his judgements so far had been accurate. Why not this one?

Raphael pulled the arm, and the pictures slowed down until they stopped: Pikachu, Pikachu, 7. Raphael cursed under his breath. He was so close! Putting in another three coins, he tried again, resulting in three Pikachus! 25 coins spit out of the machine, a good sign. He hastily put in more, losing quite a few.

When he was down to 15, Raphael started putting them in one at a time. After the fourth coin, Raphael watched the rotating wheels spin and stop: 7,7,7! 300 coins poured out of the machine. It was the jackpot! Raphael stopped for a minute and calmed down: he couldn't let this overwhelm him. He put in three coins again and tried. Another jackpot! He was now 100 over what he started with.

After about two minutes, Raphael hit it again, bringing his total to 900. He went at it for another half hour, hitting jackpot when he had 700 coins left. Raphael stopped and thought for a minute. He had reached exactly what he was meant to. Had Jasper forseen this as well?

Raphael stepped outside, relieved to finally be done with those cursed machines. Jasper was still there. Raphael waited for a response.
