WOUNDS
Chapter 1
(feel free to criticize! im up for any way to improve something)
The fire in Arcanine's eyes burned as brightly as it did in Manectric's. Victory was theirs; the Double Battle Tournament had been won. All of their opponents had known that this team would win. Uri stared into Troy's eyes, tears flowing down her face, full of joy. Suddenly, she ran up to him and embraced him in a hug that almost broke his spine, her bright orange shirt covering his white one, the two crimson stripes barely visable.

"Arcanine, return." Troy said triumphantly. A red light shot from the PokeBall, engulfing the true winner of the battle, then quickly retracting. Uri did the same, her Manectric returning to its Luxury Ball. Glad he was free from the death grip, he asked her, "Where to next?", to which she replied, "Let's go to Veilstone City and meet back up with Maylene." Maylene, the Fighting-type Gym Leader, was close friends with Troy. He could only imagine how her Lucario would feel though, being unable to be in the Tournament.

Troy started to recount the year's events: Meeting Uri Silfrei, the hottest girl in Sinnoh, whom he had rescued from a vicious Scyther attack, only it turned out to be training; getting all eight Sinnoh badges; and most importantly, catching a Rhydon in the Fight Area, a Pokemon that made a great powerhouse addition to his team.

"Troy Sarutobi, are you daydreaming about me? AGAIN?!" Uri asked, bringing Troy back to reality.

"Nope. Just thinking of OTHER things." he said, stressing "other".

"Well, come on then! Dragonite's all prepped and ready to go!" she yelled. Dragonite was crouched down, ready for the two Trainers to hop on and take them to their destination. Troy climbed on, right above the wing joints, with Uri right behind him, behind the wing joints. She grasped her arms around Troy's waist and said to Dragonite, "To Veilstone!" The mighty dragon took off, soaring up and out of the open stadium.

After about a half-hour, their location just in front of them, Dragonite leaned downward, and landed on the cobblestone streets with a gentle thud. Out of nowhere, short pink hair was all Troy saw before getting knocked down by Aura Sphere. 'Apparantly,' he thought, 'Maylene and Lucario just happened to see us.' Troy rubbed his chest, trying to ease the intense pain caused by what he thought was a psychotic Lucario. Maylene's hand extened towards him and he took it. He couldn't help but silently laugh at the jealous expression on Uri's face.

"So, Troy," the Gym Leader said, "I noticed that you just caught a Rhydon recently. I saw your Tourney match on TV. It looks pretty strong if it can take down a Blastoise."

"I think Rhydon just considered it as lifting weights." Troy joked.

"Well, I wanna battle it and see if Lucario's up to snuff." she replied with one of her own. Lucario didn't look amused.

"I can't right now Maylene, I just got through battling all the way through that Tournament without a break. I'm kinda tired." he sighed.

"Okay then. Maybe tomorrow." she said whilst walking off towards the Gym after noticing a Trainer.

"So, Troy," Uri started.

"No." he cut in.

" 'No' What?!" she yelled.

" 'No' as in ' I'm too tired to go on a little adventure' 'No'." Troy explained with little emotion. Uri looked shocked. She immediately left and went strolling around, most likely to the mall. Troy knew she'd be back to her usual charming self by tomorrow morning.

Troy was just about to turn around when a man asked, "Having trouble?"

First I would like to suggest that you turn quotations into paragraphs. It get's pretty hard to read when you have 3 people talking in the same block. Divide it up, if you know what I mean.

Other than that, this looks like it could turn into a pretty interesting story.

Chapter 2
"Having trouble?" a man asked. Troy looked around and saw a man in a very strange suit, with hallowed cheeks and strange spiky blue hair. The overall appearance was something impossible for Troy to look at for very long.

"No, not at all. My friend just gets like that sometimes. She's very impatient." Troy said. The man looked past Troy towards Uri. A sinister smirk came to his face.

"I know who you are. You're Troy Sarutobi. I saw your recent victory at Cynthia's Tournament. I am Cyrus. I am the leader of Team Galactic. I hope we can meet again sometime." the man said. He quickly turned around and strode off towards the gigantic building beyond the Veilstone Department Store. Troy knew they would probably meet again.

He set off to the Pokemon Center. He walked in and went straight to the desk. A woman with a kind face and red hair came to him and said, "Welcome to the Veilstone City Pokemon Center. I am Nurse Joy. Is there anything I can do for you?"

Troy handed her his PokeBalls. "I need you to heal my Pokemon please. I just got through with a big battle. I'm sure they're exhausted." She took them and placed them on a tray, then took the tray to a machine. The balls lit up for a few moments, then ceased. Nurse Joy handed them back to him.

"Here you go. I hope you have a pleasant day." she said, smiling. Troy exited the Pokemon Center and found a bench. He sat down and rested. After a half-hour he got up, and started to look around the city. Children ran around here and there, Trainers chatted about their Pokemon or Badges they'd obtained. It wasn't a bad day to be outside either: the weather was perfect, it was nice and sunny, there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

All of a sudden, a Houndoom came running around the corner, flames spewing from its mouth. It was obviously enraged.
"HHHHOOONNNDDDDDOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!!" it screamed. Everyone that was outside swiftly deserted the place, leaving Troy and the Houndoom. Troy's hand insinctively moved towards his belt, and he grabbed a ball and threw it.

"Rhydon, battle time!" A giant Pokemon emerged from the ball, the horn on its nose aimed at the Houndoom. Houndoom shot a Flamethrower at Rhydon, but the flames didn't even bother it due to the heavy rock plating. "Rhydon, use Stone Edge!" Rhydon charged the Houndoom, arm glowing, then executed an uppercut. The enemy flew upwards and *thud* landed hard. The crippling pain was too much for it, causing Houndoom to faint.

A young boy ran around the corner. "Houndoom? Are you okay?" he asked. He must have been its Trainer. Troy approached him.

"You shouldn't let your Pokemon ravage the city. You should be able to control your Pokemon as a Trainer. Don't let this happen again. I might not be here to save you from this humiliation another time." Troy said. "Now, go to the Pokemon Center." The boy returned his Houndoom to its PokeBall, then ran off towards the Center. The sound of clapping was heard.

"That was very good." Cyrus said as he emerged from a dark alley. "That was brilliant. Your Rhydon is very strong. Didn't I say we would meet again?"

"You!" Troy yelled. "You set the Houndoom off. You made it charge around the city, hoping it would intercept me! Why?"

" 'Why?' Why not? I wanted to see how you would react during a situation like this. I wanted to test you. And you passed."

" 'Passed'? What was that, some sort of initiation?!" he yelled, disgusted.

"Yes." the man said. "Help me create a new universe. Join Team Galactic."

Chapter 3

"You are insane!" Troy yelled. Cyrus just stared at him. 'Is this guy uncapable of emotion?' Troy asked himself.

"Very well then," Cyrus said, "you shall succumb soon enough." with that, he once more walked towards that big building. Troy could only guess it wa their HQ.

Troy ran as fast as he possibly could to the Department Store. Uri had to be warned about Team Galactic. Someting wasn't right about Cyrus; a sinister air surrounded him. He wasn't just some eccentric freak, Team Galactic had to have something in mind. Something that was definately bad, for everyone.

*SLAM* troy had ran into Uri, and crashed both of them into the floor, his head somewhere it shouldn't. "Look Troy, how many times do I have to tell you? I'm not ready for that yet!" Uri screamed. Troy got up, rapidly apologizing as he did so.

"We need to find some quiet place to go to, somewhere Cyrus won't find me." he said after fillling Uri in.

"Somewhere quiet..." she mused. "I got it! Celestic Town."

"Good, lead the way." They walked outside, where Uri sent out Dragonite, who got down and let the passengers on. Dragonite took off to the west, after having received instruction from Uri. a tiny town appeared beneath them before too long.

"Here." Uri said after dismounting. "You should be safe and sound now." An old woman approached them.

"Oho! I know you. Cynthia, my granddaughter, has told me about you, young man. She says you're quite the talented Trainer."

"Did she? She's just being too nice." Troy replied, blushing. After the old lady walked off, Uri smirked, "Don't let it go to your head."

The town was very small, with what appeared to be a cave near the back. "Uri," Troy said, " let's check that cave out." "Sure!" she said excitedly. They walked into it, realizing that it was actually ruins. A painting on the wall in front of them took Troy's interest. There were three creatures in a triangle, with a sphere in the middle.

"This town is insignificant! It deserves to be wiped off the map!" a man yelled, interrupting Troy's thoughts. He was dressed similar to Cyrus. "Stand down, and I might spare your lives!"

"Go, Espeon!" Troy yelled. A purple cat-like creature emerged from the Pokeball. "Fine! You'll go too!" the man sent out Croagunk, a frog-like Pokemon, that was purple, with black hands and feet, and two white chest stripes. "Posion Jab, Croagunk!" His Pokemon's hand glowed, and then itlunged at Espeon.

"Use Psychic!" Espeon's red forehead jewel shined, then Croagunk froze in mid-air before being thrown all the way back out of the cave. "Return!" Espeon was encased by the red light, then zoomed back to the ball.

Troy and Uri went outside, to follow the Team Galactic member. Instead, Cyrus was there. "Very good, Sarutobi. Have you reconsidered my offer yet?" he asked.

"I don't know what sick, twisted game you're playing at Cyrus, but Troy will never join you!" Uri yelled.

"Are you sure? I have great faith that he will indeed join me." Cyrus calmly said while looking carefully at Uri. "I guess I'll just bide my time a bit longer." the Team Galactic Leader walked off, disappearing into the foggy Route 210.

"Troy, that guy...is creepy. We need to get farther away, like on the other side of Mt. Coronet." she said.

"How about Eterna City? If we needed to, we'd be able to make a quick getaway and hide in Eternal Forest." he answered.

"Yeah. That just might work." And with that, Dragonite was called into service once more. Hopefully, Eterna could shield them from Cyrus.

Chapter 4

Eterna City was like being free from worries or anything else. It had been two weeks. Cyrus hadn't made an apperance. "Hey, Troy, we still haven't checked otu that building yet." Uri casually mentioned. She was referring to a 5-story, blue building in the very back of the city. It was abandoned for all they knew.

"Why not?" he replied. The two strode off towards the building, hopping its fence and easily pushing the door open. But what lay inside was the exact oppostite of their thoughts. Shiny, clean, white tiles and walls encompassed the inside, not rotting wooden boards.

"Let's split up." Uri suggested. "I don't think that's a go-" Troy said until he noticed she was gone. He looked around and saw stairs. He went up and looked around. 'There's nobody up here, either.' Troy thought. Something creaked from above. Troy looked up and saw a loose metal grate. He jumped up and hit it, knocking it down with a loud *BANG*. He jumped up again and noticed he was in the ventilation shaft. He crawled around and finally saw antoher grate, and below it was a business room. With people inside it. He got down close and peered in, trying to listen as well as hear what was going on.

"So, " Cyrus' voice said, "you successfully carried out your mission?" "Yes a familiar voice said. Troy leaned too close, and fell thorugh. Everyone in the room looked at him. Troy got to his feet and pointed at the one female.

"How could you?! You've been working for Team Galactic this entire time, haven't you?!" he yelled as angrily as was humanly possible. "Yes." was Uri's reply. The word ripped away Troy's heart. As he stood there fuming, a Team Galactic member knocked him out.

When he came to, he was in the city, but it wasn't Eterna. In fact, it wasn't anywhere in Sinnoh. He sat up, and noticed a letter next to him. He read it in the fading light of sunset. It said "Troy, if you are reading this, by now you have probably realized that you are no longer in Sinnoh. You are in the Solest Region, in the coastal city know as Dusk City. To be more exact, you're actually in the woods right next to it. Uri Silfrei did indeed betray you. She is my most loyal follower. Iknow that you want to destroy me, most likely. You don't have enough power. Come back whe you do. I'll be waiting in the Veilstone Headquarters, fourth floor, sixth door on the left. Until then, Cyrus, Team Galactic Leader."

Troy stared at the letter with anger resonating in him like black lightning. Rage consumed him, forcing him to grab his PokeBalls and toss them into the nearby river. How he despised Uri! Her betrayal ran too deep, a wound that would forever cause grief.

Troy shoved his hands into his pockets, only to discover something round in the right one. He pulled out the green and black Dusk ball. In the nearby brush, something rustled. An Absol emerged, its white fur glowing eerily in the moonlight. Troy chunked his Dusk Ball at it, watching the ball wiggle three times and stop after hitting the ground. Absol was his. He picked it up.

"Shadows are without form, and thus without weakness. The darkness is never satiated. I shall follow this example. I shall become darkness made flest." he mused. And he walked off, abandoning his emotions, conscience, his past life, his humanity. He could do anyting he felt like, and no one was going to tell him different. No one. "I shall be the bane of light and good." he said. "Troy Sarutobi is dead. Renge Malici shall take reign."

Chapter 1

"You shall obey the every command of myself and the Novas: Tadakatsu, Mori, and Sasaki. Is this understood?" a cold voice said. "Yes sir!" came the response. "Anyone who does not abide by these rules or turns traitor shall be killed on sight." All of the men and women in the room gulped at this. The cold voice no longer speaking, they knew they were excused. They left the room as fast as their legs could power-walk.

"Sir?" a female voice asked. "We are grateful for you giving us these highly ranked positions in Team Eclipse." "Make of it what you will. I gave you three the position of Nova simply due to the fact that you three battled the best." he said. "Hand me my Pokemon." The female ran to a desk, and pulled out six green and black Dusk Balls, then handed them to the one with the cold voice. He selected one.

"Tyranitar." a massive Pokemon came out. It was green, with spikes on its back, a long powerful tail, and an evil face. "Umbreon." a black creature came out, extremely smaller than the first. It had yellow rings on its ears, legs and tail. "Shiftry." a wooden Pokemon emerged, with long white hair and leaf-like fans for hands. "Weavile." the evolution of Sneasel appeared, looking extremely mischievous. The man stopped.

"What about the other two, sir?" a male voice said, nowhere near as cold and harsh. "Yes, the other two. The ones whom are native only to Solest, whose evolutions are truly nightmarish horrors?" the cold voice asked knowingly. "Yes sir. Those ones."

The first man grabbed another ball. "Houndrane." A Pokemon similar to Houndoom came out. So similar, it was its evolution. The horns were curved like a ram, the tail like a pointed cross, it wore bones around its body. "And the best for last, Absollean." the final Pokemon emerged from the Dusk Ball with a blood-curtling, heart-stopping shriek. Absol's strongest form was truly demonic: four, two-foot long , blade-like horns from the four cardinal directions of its head, came close near the top like a crown. It was much bigger than an Absol. Its face was grey instead of black, and had pure black eyes: no pupil, iris, or cornea; just black, like looking into death. The tail was wickedly curved, with three points. The claws were sharper, and harder than diamond. The mane was the same length, but had a shredded appearance.

"Leader Malici." the man said. Malici. The name had been unheard by the cold one for a year. It sounded unfamiliar. "Leave." Malici said. "Sir?" the man said, not understanding. "Leave." Malici repeated angrily. The Novas rushed out, their red, yellow, orange, and black outfits a blur. Malici returned his Pokemon to their balls, except Absollean. "Renge Malici." he said to himself. "That is my name." A grunt entered. "Sir, I was wondering if-" he started to say. "GET OUT!!" Renge yelled. "ABSOLLEAN, PSYCHO CUT!" the white Pokemon's front horn glowed, then it shook its head towards the grunt, firing off an energy-like blade attack. The attack sliced the grunt's head cleanly off of his neck. He wouldn't interrupt again.

The death of this grunt didn't bother Renge. Nothing did anymore. He was numb to any and all death, pain, suffering, etc. that he could think of. So what if a few, or more, people got killed in his quest for revenge? Nothing was going to stop him from destroying Cyrus. Cyrus. The name evoked a painful memory. He crawled around the ventilation shaft and finally saw another grate. He peered down below and saw a business room. With people. He leaned closer to hear and get a better view. "So," Cyrus' voice said, "you successfully completed your mission?" "Yes." the familiar voice said. Troy fell through the grate, landing hard. He looked up and saw Uri. Uri. The name was painful, a knife in the dark, a stab in the back.

Renge screamed in intense pain. He fell down to all fours, screaming in agony. "What is this?! Why does this keep happening?! Uri, I'LL KILL YOU IF IT'S THE LAST THING I DO! AND IF I DONT, ILL RETURN FROM HELL IF I HAVE TO!" he fell to his back, the pain taking control. 'No,' he thought, 'I am in control. Nothing shall ever guide my actions unless I tell it to!' The pain ceased. Why did Uri's name cause this? Was it remorse?

Renge shoved the thought from his mind. It was time. Project A.M.E.T.H.Y.S.T. shall now be implemented.

Chapter 2

"Quick, get on the ship. Don't be seen." Renge said coldly. Hundreds of red, yellow, orange, and black Team Eclipse grunts rushed aboard a ship. Renge made his way up the ramp after everyone else was aboard. A crew member of the ship came from around an old, run-down, brick building next to the dock.

"Oi! You're not allowed on this vessel. Take your people and get off the S.S. Homage!" he yelled. Renge quickly ran up to him, and cupped his hand around the man's mouth while simultaneously pulling out a knife. "I think you'll find that I have every right to be on here." Renge said. He took the knife to the man's throat, and slit it, blood gushing out of the wound down the man's body. Seeing he was dead, Renge let go and hurried aboard.

He walked up the spiraling ramp to the room that held the wheel, and the captain. "I think it's safe to set sail, captain. I don't want to be late to Sinnoh." Renge said. The captain, who was surrounded by the Novas, nodded in agreement, hoping to get out of this mess. It took 3 hours before the destination was reached.

"Find me some rope." Renge ordered. The captain nodded, then left the room. Moments later, he returned. "Knock him out, Sasaki." he said to one of the girls. She obeyed, and the captain crumpled down to the floor. "Grunt!" he yelled, with a grunt nearly breaking down the door to get in as fast as he could. "Take the captain to the deck. Then, tie one end of this rope to the anchor's rope." The grunt picked up the captain, grabbed the rope, and carefully made his way downstairs. Once down there, Renge took the other end of the rope, and tied it to the captain's feet. The captain awoke.

"What's going on here?" he asked. "Captain, care to sail in my new-age submarine?" Renge answered. Without waiting for a response, he lowered the anchor. The captain screamed as he was dragged along the wooden deck, before crashing into the ocean. Renge looked over the side to see the captain vanish into the abyss. "No loose ends." he said to himself.
* * *
The helicopter landed down on the pad. After so long, Renge was once more in Veilstone City. He walked down the nearby staircase, the Novas in puruit. He went down three flights of stairs before reaching a sign that said "Fourth Floor." He pushed open the double-doors, and strode over to the sixth room on the left. Two all-too familiar faces awaited him: Cyrus and Uri.

"Ah, Troy Sarutobi. Have you returned now to kill me?" Cyrus asked coyly.

"I can only imagine what Troy would say, were he still alive, that is." Renge said. Cyrus' expression left. "Renge Malici stands before you, and I'll take your offer double-or-nothing."

"What do you mean?" Cyrus asked.

"I mean that I think I'll just kill you both." Renge said. Uri looked as if she was about to faint.

"Then do it." Cyrus demanded. "Oh, you can't. You're still not strong enough are you? Poor Renge, unable to fulfill his heart's desire."

Renge laughed. "That was funny, Cyrus. You're wrong about the heart though. Mine's gone. I have my own: I'll have an order of Cyrus. Make sure that when you cook it, it's burned." Cyrus looked disturbed at this. Renge reached for a Dusk Ball, and sent out Houndrane.

"Houndrane, use Malice Burn." Renge said. Houndrane's mouth had fire circle around it, then form in a giant ball right outside of its snouth. Houndrane then opened his mouth and shot a dark beam from it, pushing the flame towards Cyrus, whom it hit dead-on. Cyrus screamed in agony as he slowly cremated. After a few minutes, there was nothing but ash.

"Troy? Are you okay?" Uri asked.

"No, I'm not. And as I said, I'm not Troy. Troy is dead. I'm Renge, Renge Malici." he answered. "And for your ignorance and betrayal, I'll make your death as painful as I possibly can." Renge threw back his head and laughed maniacally. "Tadakatsu, hand me your third Pokemon." the brightly dressed Nova did as commanded, causing Renge to laugh again, only any sense of insanity was replace by sheer evil.

Chapter 3

Uri Silfrei backed up in horror from the hellish fiend before her. "Go, Delibird." Renge said, causing a redish penguin-like bird to appear from the PokeBall. "Houndrane, rip out her throat with Crunch." The massive demonic dog walked toward the helpless girl, and clamped down on her neck. Crimson blood spurted out from the holes that had been made from the sharp fangs piercing the flesh. Houndrane pulled, allowing the blood to rush out more freely, covering her body and the floor. She couldn't even scream in pain. Renge savored every moment of her despair.

"Use Present, Delibird." The tiny Pokemon reached into a bag it carried, and tossed an object at Uri. On contact, it instantly healed her, or at least, covering up the wound so blood didn't come out. "Return, both of you." The Pokemon were engulfed by red light, then shot back to their respective ball. Renge handed Delibird's back to Nova Tadakatsu, belted Houndrane's, then pulled out another ball.

"Do you know what this is?" Renge asked dryly. Uri shook her head, unable to answer. "This is Absollean, the evolution of Absol, and the cruelest, most savage Pokemon ever to walk this planet." he continued. "And it shall be the last thing you see." He sent out his most loyal and fatal Pokemon. Its pure black eyes appeared to stare at Uri, but who knew? Who cared? "Absollean, make her suffer. Use Savage End!" he ordered. Absollean moved over to her faster than lightning. He took his front-right paw and shoved it through her chest, coming clean out her heart and back. Uri's blood splattered its fur, but Absollean took no notice; he was too busy slicing her head off, which rolled to right in front of Renge's shoes. Renge kicked the disembodied head, right back to her body.

"Revenge. How there is nothing better than it." Renge said to himself while returning Absollean. Once more, he pulled out another Dusk Ball. "Tyranitar." the bulking Pokemon was barely fitting into the room height-wise. "Grind her bones to dust with Giga Impact." Tyranitar picked up the body and head, taking one in each hand, then slowly pushed them together, a sickening noise filling the room. The three Novas looked away. Tyrantiar finished, the only thing remaining was a tiny ball of clothes and a pile of ground-up bones.

Renge Malici walked out of the room, belting on Tyranitar's Dusk Ball, the Novas following. "Return to the helicopter, then pick me up outside of the city's limits." he ordered. They nodded, then ran to the stairs that led up. Renge walked down, until he got outside. "Time for Team Galactic to sleep eternally." he said. He selected Shiftry and Houndrane for this final task.

The two Pokemon looked at Renge after being released from their capsule. "Both of you, use Hyper Beam on the building. I want it obliterated." The dog and tree looked at him, then the building. A dark beam erupted from Houndrane's mouth, while a similar beam came from Shiftry's fan-like hands. People around stopped and stared at the sight before them. All of a sudden, they started cheering. Renge looked around, unsure of what was happening. They yelled out things like "Savior!" or "Thank you!" Renge had a thought form in his mind as he belted their Dusk Balls with his Pokemon safely in them. He kept thinking it as he walked towards the helicopter.

Chapter 4
Nobody dared to disturb Renge. He had a sign outside of his study that clearly read: Disturb on pain of death. Just in case, Absollean was facing the door, ready to attack on command. Renge's desk was filled with books on Solest mythology. He picked one that was titled Specter of Darkness. Renge opened it up and began to read.

Out of all Legendary Pokemon in the known world, none are as powerful as Mortix. It is a hybrid of the Normal and Ghost elements, making it have the weaknesses of a Ghost and the attack variety of a Normal. Those who encounter it are killed shortly after, save the few whom it takes a liking to. It has the ability to turn invisible, or rather, avoid hits for a long time. How long it can remain in that state is unknown, but has been thought to be sustained as long as it has enough energy. Mortix is sacred not due to its low appearances, but its tremendous speed, accuracy, and power. This passage amused Renge. He pushed his silver hair to the side, and looked for another book. He found one: Battle of Solest.

THIS IS A BATTLE THAT TOOK PLACE LONG AGO, BETWEEN THE POKEMON LORDS: MORTIX AND DARKRAI. Both of the Pokemon were rivals. Each wanted to be Lord of Darkness, but neither had bested the other. So, the two challenged for a final time; the stakes: winner is Lord, loser is banished to the Realm of the Vanquished. Darkrai made the first move, launching Dark Void. But Mortix, with his supreme speed, dodged it, then fired Mighty Abyss. Darkrai sustained heavy damage, but survived and used Dark Pulse, which hit Mortix for even more damage. Mortix and Darkrai charged each other in the sky, both falling to the ground below after contact. Mortix got up and attacked Darkrai, using Aura Sphere. Darkrai ceased to move. Mortix, the victor, walked off, but Darkrai was stealthy, and cheated by attacking Mortix from behind. Darkrai fled to Sinnoh, to a small town called Alamos. Mortix was never seen again. This too was intriguing, until he saw a book with no name, which he knew he had to read.

Pure white eyes, crimson hair, four spikes on the shoulders, chest, and back, with the shoulders' pointing up, the others, down. Gold are they in color, with sapphire gems upon the center. Black is the face, body, and ghostly shoulder apparatuses. Arms with hands that can change shape at will, and no legs, just swirling darkness. This is the image of Mortix, which evoked this tale:Long ago, the lord of Pokemon, Arceus, sentenced Mortix, the bringer of suffering, to exile upon the planet Earth. Mortix feeds on fear, and without it, would perish. Arceus thus left him to his fate. But Mortix had other plans. He wanted to stop Arceus, and take his place as ruler of Pokemon, and so he created a servant, Darkrai, the lord of nightmares. Darkrai was to harvest energy from nightmares to give to Mortix, so he could eventually overpower Arceus. And so it was done. Over time, Darkrai started growing a lust for power, and stopped bringing his master energy. Mortix and Darkrai then battled fiercely, to determine who would be the true master. Mortix won, then reincarnated Darkrai, but this time, forbade him to ever do so again, otherwise he would not be brought back a second time. Darkrai understood, and was sent to a town that was frequented by many people, Alamos Town. Mortix still gains energy, but only indirectly. There has been no contact between Darkrai and Mortix for a thousand years.

This is what Renge had been searching for these past few days. This information was crucial if he were to truly gain power. "Sir, you are needed to-" a grunt said after bursting in. He realized he shouldn't have from the look given by Renge. "Absollean, Final Shadow." Renge said angrily. Absollean moved towards the grunt, who screamed in protest. Absollean looked the man in the eye, who looked back. His expression suddenly went blank, and then a dark shadow suddenly enveloped him. The shadow grew smaller, and then disappeared, along with the grunt. "I hate it when the ignorant are themselves. Oh well. One weed has been removed from the perfect garden." he mused.

"Tadakatsu! Mori! Sasaki!" he called. The three Novas came in, and in unison said, "Sir!" "I need you to organize a tournament for me. Invite the strongest Trainers from around the world. They must all have at least 8 badges. They are allowed to bring up to two guests, but they too must be Trainers." Renge ordered. "Sir!" they said once more before departing. This was going to be good, he thought. He looked at the book once more.

The location of Mortix has been debated for centuries, but only those who are truly devoted in this field of research know where it is. The Umbral Temple in the woods of Dusk City. Only a great sacrifice can bring Mortix out of its slumber. Take caution, and do not attempt to capture it, harm it, or anything else. You will regret it. So the Umbral Temple was where it was? That made things more interesting. A sacrifice was needed. Renge had a good idea on how to do it as spectacularly as could be inhumanly possible.

POKEMON: Shadow of Mortix
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Chapter 1

It was the Dusk City International Battle. Renge Malici had to be careful here, due to the immense amount of Trainers. As a precaution, he took the alias Reik Zanex. There was at least two of them here: a powerful Trainer who could draw Mortix to the Temple. Renge had to battle the victor of the Tournament, a boy from Solest named Raphael Nagato. He had some good Pokemon with him, as well as a well-rounded team. Surely Raphael's power was enough, he had almost taken out one of Renge's Pokemon.

Right now, Renge was in a warehouse, and had just seen Raphael conversing with three Trainers: one with a Pikachu, one with a Piplup, and one with a Croagunk. Those three had nearly made it to the finals, had it not been for Raphael's ability and the help of Tadakatsu and Mori, who had been placed inside the Tournament. "Malici, are you sure that he's the one? If not then everythi-" a female voice had said over a walkie-talkie before being cut off.

"Then everything might not go according to plan?" Renge finished. "Of course he is. Do you seriously think that after six weeks of planning that this would go wrong in one day? Mori, I thought you knew me better. Nova Sasaki underestimated me, and looke where that got her: she's not in on this."

"Sorry, sir. Won't happen again." Mori said quickly.

"You had best hope not." Renge turned off the walkie-talkie, and started looking through a tinted window. Raphael was showing his Pokemon to the other three. He had Volcavin-the final stage of the Fire-type starter that resembled a cross between Typhlosion and Golem, Fahlcor- a Flying-type that looked like the long-lost twin of Staraptor, Machamp-a tall four-armed human-like creature, Cobalia-a Water Pokemon that could easily be mistaken for a sea monster, and Shocari-an Electric and Dark hybrid that was sort of like Arcanine. The girl with Piplup looked excited.

Someone walked up to them. It was Nova Mori. The plan had started. Even though he couldn't hear them, Renge knew what she was saying and could easily guess what they said based on their reactions and expressions.

"Are you Raphael Nagato and Ash Ketchum?" she asked. Both nodded. " I need you to make your way to the Umbral Temple on the outskirts of town on behalf of Reik Zanex."

The one called Ash looked confused. He most likely said, "Who's Reik Zanex?" to which Raphael replied, "The guy who sponsered the Tournament, and the Champion of Solest. He's a master of Dark-type Pokemon." Ash looked as though he would explode in excitement. Apparantly he likes battling strong opponents.

"Be there in six hours. Don't get hurt, the way is dangerous." Mori said before walking off. She played her part well, the four looked ready to go. Little did they suspect that the three Disasters would impede their progess. Renge had captured them for this purpose only. He would release them once their jobs were done, for he had no intention whatsoever on keeping them: they were not of the Dark element.

Renge left the warehouse. He did intend on following Raphael, Ash, and the others. What better way to see what they could do? Sure, he could just battle them, but where's the fun in winning a battle that won't be lost? Nowhere. Too many thoughts flooded Renge's mind on all of the possiblites and their consequences, and so on forever. They had six hours, and Renge had the secret passageway to get to the Temple before they do. Mortix would soon be in his grasp.

S

Shocari

The enormous behemoth of Fire stood before Renge. It had a mane that could easily have passed as a river of silver flame running down its back. The creature stood on all fours, and had light blue eyes-eerie to most, but not Renge. It had paws the size of Renge's head, a tail like a wolf, a muscular body, and white spikes jutting out from above each eye. This creature was the deadliest of the Disaster Trio, because it controlled both fire and the weather. Raiatartho was its name. Old tales spoke of its innate ability to cause fire to rain down from the sky in what was thought to have been hell on earth. Raiatartho was safe though: its muzzle was chained shut, and it was locked in a fire-proof cage. Renge walked over to another beast.

Shadawn was next in line. It stood upright like a human, but that was where similarities ended. It was a dark purple, almost black. It had pure white eyes and no nose or mouth. Shadawn was one to speak telepathically. Able to melt into shadow and not be seen, heard, or its presence felt, Shadawn was the stealty type, which was perfectically suitable for a Ghost. There were no legs, just a swirling mass of darkness like Mortix. Its arms were like a Mewtwo's, but the hands were curved like talons. Shadawn was trapped within a steel prison with no cracks, rendering it unable to escape.

Only one was left: Faunsetta, a Pokemon who controlled all of nature except for what Raiatartho owned. This one looked like a hybrid of Leafeon and Roserade, meaning that it stood like a Roserade, had ears like a Leafeon, and was covered in moss, vines, and flowers. Faunsetta was known far and wide for causing trees and other plants to grow almost on the egde of being uncontrolled, wiping out cities and reclaiming the land that was originally nature's. Faunsetta was placed in a funace-type room, unable to even try to use its power.

All three were here. Good. Part of the plan was done, the other two needed to be implemented. Renge left the chamber were these beasts were kept. He motioned for a scientist to come. "Sir?" he asked cautiously.

"Release the captured onto the woods near Umbral Temple. There will be four Trainers travelling there. Make sure the three enter their path."

"It will be done sir." the scientist said before walking to the chamber. Renge gathered his own Pokemon, and headed to the passageway that led to a good vantage point.
***
Renge had been watching the Trainers for thirty minutes after he had got the go-ahead. The Disasters had not encountered them, equalling one part failed and one good scientist about to die. Renge would have cried if he could feel pity. But alas, the four were almost at the Temple. Renge ran from the cliff-face he was on to a dirt road that led behind the Temple.

Inside the Temple it was dark, so Renge had Houndrane quickly light a few torches. Renge was sure nothing would go wrong this time, mostly because he had his ace: he himself was here. A dais stood in the back, but it was empty for some strange reason. The little pawns had entered.

"Wow. This place is kinda creepy." the girl said. The other three nodded in agreement. They couldn't see Renge, he was behind one of the many pillars that lined the left and right. They walked towards the dais, so as to see the inscription upon it that read, "Mortix, lord of evil."

" 'Lord of evil'?" the dark-skinned one repeated. "That doesn't sound good."

"And for good reason." Renge said, still hidden from view. The kids looked around as though a ghost had said those words. "I'd like to thank you for coming to my little...get together."

"Reik Zanex?" Raphael questioned.

"No. Reik Zanex is my alias. My real name is Renge Malici. I'm the head of Team Eclipse(Raphael cringed at this) and I set up the entire Tournament looking for you and Ash."

"Why? Why would you want me and Raphael?" Ash asked.

"I needed a sacrifice to summon the almight Mortix. Don't worry though, it's not your life I need. It's the life of your Pokemon." he replied. Before the kids had time to say anything, he snapped his fingers and all of his Pokemon appeared, except Absollean and Houndrane. They grabbed each kid, leaving them unable to move. Renge walked towards Raphael and took his Pokemon off of his belt. "Let me show you what I mean." He took the Pokeballs and released the Pokemon. They were startled.

"Help us!" the kids screamed. The Pokemon got ready to attack, but Renge stopped them, saying, "You don't want to do that. See, with a snap of my fingers, your beloved Trainer will be killed." The Pokemon stopped. "Houndrane, Absollean, it's time." His final Pokemon came out of hiding. "Destroy them, and bring out the ultimate one!" he yelled.

Absollean and Houndrane got ready: Absollean's horn/blades glowing a faint purple, Houndrane forming a ball of fire outside of its maw. "Shadow End and Malice Burn!" Houndrane released the black beam, pushing the fire into the Pokemon, who were unable to flee due to the giant shadow encasing them. The fire grew bigger as the shadow grew smaller, leading to an eventual disappearance of ashes. Raphael began to cry at his loss, but Renge paid no attention. A rift appeared above the dais, and grew until it was a certain height. Out of this rift came an arm, then another, then a shadowy mass. Mortix was here. The deity pulled itself out of the rift, and looked at the spot where Raphael's Pokemon just were. It blinked, causing a sphere of energy to appear, which was absorbed into the golden spikes.

Satisfied, it looked at Renge and began to speak telepathically. 'You are the one who summoned me before it was my time. Why?' "I need your power, my lord. I shall prove a more useful servant than Darkrai. Appoint me to watch over this planet, and together we can destroy Arceus and place you upon the throne." Renge replied.

'I can sense the darkness flowing around you. There is more evil to you than to that pathetic neanderthal. You would make a fine slave,' Mortix thought.

"Thank you, master."

'but,' he continued, 'we will never find out. You are unbefitting of me, and are able to die by human hands.'

"But my lord, so can you! To the world you are just a myth, yet here you stand! The world has abandoned the old ways, and forgotten about all of you! You need someone with influence in this world, someone who can corrupt them from within, make them see the old ways once more!" Renge pleaded.

'Too bad.' Mortix thought, then released Mighty Abyss at Renge. Renge Malici existed no more.
THE END.
