Dave tossed the map carelessly aside with a sigh. "Gosh... that thing is useless... I think we're in... Valley Windworks, was it?" Dave asked as he turned his head to look at the small Fennekin named Karen trotting along beside him. She looked back up at him, and gave him a nod.
They were currently going through a rather grubby looking area, and Karen yiped for Dave's attention. He turned to look at her, but she was looking elsewhere. He brought his gaze up to where she was staring, and took notice to two people, one considerably shorter than the other, busting down a rusty old door, and the older quickly dispatching a couple of men, that Dave could only have assumed were guards of some sort? Regardless, the kid was obviously a teen, so how he pulled that off against what appeared to be grown men was beyond Dave, but this was the first exciting thing to occur since he'd arrived in Sinnoh.
"Come on, Karen. Let's check this out." Dave said as he began to progress towards the building, Karen bounding happily along after him. He was glad that she shared his spirit. Perhaps that is why he chose her. Maybe that feeling he felt was... a connection.
Dave rounded the corner, peeking around to find the kids he'd been following. The boy tried to attack another man in a dumb looking outfit, only to get his wrist caught and crushed in the man's vice grip. The little girl, which Dave assumed was his little sister, was nearly powerless to stop the man. Though he did notice her Shinx. Why she hadn't tried to save her brother was beyond Dave, so he moved in, unsure of who's side to take.
Dumb outfit man,
Or breaking and entering kid?
Dave was unsure, but that dumb suit was, well, dumb.
Dave stepped out from the shadows, Karen jumping out with him, and he yelled. "HEY!"
He hadn't intended for it to be so loud, bit the room had amplified Dave's voice to ear shattering proportions. Okay, maybe not that bad, but it was enough to make Karen and Dave jump out of surprise.
