I've been looking at this thing, and the collection seems absolutely gorgeous. All of the Phantasy Star Genesis games, a horde of Sonic titles, and a bunch of other fan favourites I've never had the pleasure of trying out. Plus, they've all been upgraded to hi def. Only on PS3 and 360.

I think I'll bite, even if I own Sonic Mega Collection and a few of these on the VC. What about the rest of you?

If anyone's played it already, thoughts on the quality of the collection?

I also have one inquiry, because I don't see its name up on that list and the prospect of it not being included really saddens me... Is there anyway to play Sonic 3 & Knuckles on this collection? As much as I like Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles on their own... There's just no comparison to playing them as one lengthy game. I have a hunch the game's just not in there this time, but I'm naively hopeful. XP

You can't lock on using Sonic and Knuckles in the collection, no. Why? Because the guys that put it together are incompetent.

Although - anyone that hasn't played Golden Axe Warrior should get this game solely for it. It's a Zelda clone - but it's not only the best there is, it's also far better than the actual Zelda I game. It's a pity the Master System was completely ignored in America, great games like GWA got completely lost in the NES maelstrom there.

The arcade version of Altered Beast is slightly less awful than the console version too, but it's a pity Shinobi 2 isn't on the collection. Might have something to do with Spider-man being a boss in it or something...

Watch 'em release a "Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection PLUS" or some silliness which includes Sonic 3 & Knuckles/Knuckles in Sonic 2 playable. I'd be kicking myself over buying the original and/or trading it in for the upgraded version XP

I haven't played that Golden Axe Warrior game, no. A few of these titles do appeal to me (Ecco II, Beyond Oasis, Shining Force, etc.), so I think I'll pick this one up at some point. Might wait until it's used...

It's half price of a full game on RRP anyway. I don't think that it's going to fall much in pre-owned. It's really not bad for £20 - but it's really just absurd that Sonic and Knuckles hasn't kept its lock on feature when they're already done it before.

True enough, but it's really between this and Mass Effect for me at the moment. I still have my $50 card to use, but I don't think I'll be able to get both unless Mass Effect is decently priced. Yes, I'm feeling cheap, but it's only because I gotta put $260 towards something else at the moment, lol.

Thoughts on which to get if I were to only get one for now? XD

You'd have to tell me how much a full price game at RRP is in Canadian before I could really be sure, but Mass Effect pre-owned here'd probably have at least £10/£15 chopped off the RRP. That may be enough for you to get both - albeit probably splashing out an extra few dollars to cover the extra. But probably not too much.

I've bought this game for 40€ and it was well worth it.
Robotnics Mean Bean Machine aka Puyo Pop is great, the golden Axe games are pretty ok, even though final fight is way better ,
and dont forget about the sonic games :D

With Phantasy star 1-4 you even get some old school RPGs , which is nice too.
AND there are some games that i didnt even know they existed, like Comix zone, which has a very nice style and is extremely fluid for a game that is that old!
