Status question! (At least I am not asking for team help!)

Well I just restarted my FireRed game yesterday with my lvl 100 Charizard on it because I relized, when fighting Mewtwo, I used my master ball on Zapdos.

So now on my new game with my lvl 53 female Charizard, I am trying to capture Zapdos again. I have tried several times I tried paralyzing and poison but they don't seem effective with a Ultra ball and very low health. So what status should I try to induce to most easily catch this darn bird? Poison, Burn, Paralyze, or Sleep?

I dont think any of them truely augment your chances of catching. sleep is best since itll stop the bird from KOing your guys.

Actually statuses do give a slight aid in catching if I remember correctly, and sleep barely etches out a smaller margin of benefit than the others. Don't remember the actual percentages, but sleep is still your best bet. Just keep plenty of pokeballs and keep at it, you will catch it eventually.

I don't remember the exact formula, but sleep and freeze were a 10 in it, while all other statuses were a 5... so I can confirm that sleep would be the most effective of your options.
