The circumstances of Steven Quartz Universe's birth are mostly a mystery. What many do not know is that the diamonds themselves had sent a special squad to attack Rose Quartz in a surprise attack. After they retreated from a battle with the Crystal Gems they discovered what was about to happen. These gems plan to tell the diamonds about what is about to happen, and Rose Quartz thinks the only safe place to go is space. This is the mission. Rose Quartz is in space. In an abandoned, flying gem base. And the assassination squad are back for revenge, and intend to tell the diamonds all about Steven's birth. So she must be protected. At least, that's what the group of ragtag gem soldiers have been told. Protect Rose Quartz so she can give birth. Stop anyone from entering. And help her and her child leave. But what they don't know is that she's not on board.
In this RP, there are two groups.
* The group of gems protecting the base, these are whoever Rose could find and get to help the rebellion. They are most likely not going to make it out alive, but they do not know this. They also do not know Rose Quartz is on Earth, not the ship like they have been told.
* The Homeworld gems, who were sent as a squad to assassinate Rose Quartz unexpectedly. They discovered Rose's pregnancy, and intend to tell the diamonds after the Crystal Gems fought them off. However, instead of warning the diamonds, they were told by their "commander" that Rose Quartz is on board the ship. So they plan to attack it instead, and shatter Rose Quartz.
You will control a member of one of these groups, preferably one from each side.

Appearance: Iolite looks like a Viking. What people today think a Viking looks like, more accurately. Large bushy beard, strong, armour, horned helmet. This is because Iolite was stranded on earth with some vikings, and quickly took on their traits. Dark blue skin, light blue armour and hair. Gem is almost shard like, and on the upper chest.
Personality: Iolite has long since forgotten about homeworld. Loud, thinks with fists. Acts before thinking. Tends to celebrate too much.
Weapons and abilities: Double bladed, dark blue Battle Axe. Has an uncanny ability in navigation.
Backstory: Iolite was stranded on earth, a common bodyguard gem working under Blue Diamond. While trying to protect an aristocrat leaving Earth, Iolite was stranded. Not much is known until Iolite was found by Vikings. Iolite imprinted much of his new identity off them. Iolite started copying them. Big beard, male pronouns. Iolite integrated quite well into the group of Viking Raiders, and was now one of them. However, Iolite somehow ended up frozen in ice, where he was found and put on display in a museum. Freed and bubbled by Rose Quartz, he had trouble adjusting to the new world. He did decide to keep that helmet though. It was a nice touch.
Gem: Amber
Side: Rebellion, in charge of rebellion squad.
Nicknames: (Amby to her friends)
Appearance: Amber is a shorter gem, just taller than the Amethyst we know. Amber has long, light orange hair, and dark orange skin. She wears a uniform similar to that of Jaspers. Her gem is located on her forehead, and is a dark orange oval.
Personality: Amber has a habit of turning negativity into positivity, and emanates a sort of warmth. She tries to look out for the wellbeing of others, but has a habit of holding onto the past for too long.
Weapons and abilities:
Her weapon is two dark orange staves, that she holds via grips jutting from them.
Backstory: Amber was from the prime kindergarten on Earth, and came out late. She has studied all of the files she could find there, and tried to learn as much as she could about homeworld. She is an effective leader, and when found by Rose Quartz, she was kept a secret and assigned to finding other gems.
Gem: Heliotrope
Side: Homeworld, leader of the homeworld squad.
Nicknames: Commonly referred to as Bloodstone
Appearance: A rather large Quartz soldier, she has dark green skin with bright red blotches. She wears a black cloak, similar to Jasper's when she first arrived on Earth. She has a yellow diamond uniform, and long bright red hair.
Personality: She is courageous, but always points out and accepts the hard truths of reality. She believes that she will be the one to purify gem kind by eliminating the rebels.
Weapons and abilities: Her weapon is a bright red mace, a long stick with a spiked ball on the end.
Backstory: Bloodstone is a feared and ruthless commander. An elite soldier, her time as a standard Heliotrope was forgotten. Only those above her refer to her as a Heliotrope anymore, now known as Bloodstone by her troops. She is feared for being hard on them, because "life won't give you pity".
