Private/Closed Superhero Slice of Life RP Discussion

Crime syndicates. Superpowered villains. That upcoming calculus exam. Multitrillionaire tech conglomerates as corrupt as they are rich in power and influence. Asking your crush to homecoming. Multiversal entities hellbent on tearing the space-time continuum as we know it to shreds, rend everything around us to the finest of dust. College applications.

This is a story about your typical, wide-eyed, teenage high school students who chose some REAL interesting extracurricular activities. A story that begs the question: what happens when a band kid can fly? When a speech and debate student has the power of mind control? What happens when you take the young generation of humanity going through the formative years of secondary education and endow them with a superhuman ability? Do they take it and run for the glory and fame? Keep it a secret for the sake of themselves or others? Do they find a new responsibility in their divine gift as a paragon for the weak, a savior for the broken? Or do they crumble, succumbing to the temptations of power and stray away from the right path? Furthermore, what exactly is the right path? Can teenagers be trusted to toe the ever-so-thin line of morality? Most of all, how does this affect their chances of getting a date to the upcoming dance?

This is a story about the youth and drama of high school life intertwined with the battle between good and evil. A marriage between all the intense action, fierce conflicts, and character studies you love about superhero epics and the light-hearted comedy, awkward romance, and hilariously cringe drama that you empathize and connect with in slice-of-life stories. So without further ado, let's get started, shall we?

Name: Jake Lockheed
Alias (if applicable): Mischief
Gender/Age: Male/15
Sexuality: Homosexual
Appearance: Jake is a relatively slender kid who stands at around 5'10 in height. He has pale skin with lilac eyes. His hair is a soft platinum blonde that he wears in a long ponytail. He has pretty bad eyesight so wears glasses and is usually wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, a tan tartan style shirt and black shoes. When he shifts into Mischief his hair turns white, his eyes become black abyss's with white pupils, he gains fangs and a pair of white pointy ears. He also gains claws and a white cat like tail.
1677593017530.png1677593017576.png
Images created using https://picrew.me (Picrew|つくってあそべる画像メーカー)
Personality: Jake is a usually quiet guy, who rarely raises his voice and isn't very fond of conflict. He likes to sing and read books and has a fear of raccoons. He is smart and gentle in how he acts with a strong belief in what is right. Mischief is energetic, loud and highly excitable. He tends to only help if something is in it for him, usually in the form of preprepared bribes that Jake leaves for his alter ego. He does, however, like to fight when he thinks it will be fun. He isn’t fond of authority and is also strangely still afraid of raccoons, a fear that even the bestial Mischief couldn’t seem to shake.
Powers/Abilities: He has the ability to switch into a beast-like form that calls itself Mischief. Mischief has enhanced strength, speed and reflexes, beast-like senses with fangs and claws that are sharp enough to pierce most traditional body armour. Mischief also heals a little faster than regular people and is physically a little tougher also.
Weaknesses: While Jake is himself, he is pretty much a regular human, he has some minor combat abilities but has no powers. Mischief isn't without his share of weaknesses as well of course, the cat-like beast is easily swayed by things such as chocolate, catnip and coffee and his general demeanour can cause him to be difficult to work with. Catnip is the most effective weapon against Mischief as it affects him the same it would a cat, essentially putting him out of commission.
Extracurriculars: Jake is part of several music clubs and often spends a lot of time in the library.
Backstory: Jake was born to Diana and Henry Lockheed, both professors in their respective fields and highly accomplished. When Jake was born, he seemed relatively normal. He seemed so normal that it worried his parents who took him to a psychiatrist who through many sessions eventually caused the first instance of Mischief taking control. It was then discovered that Jake barely rebelled or misbehaved because those desires were sealed away inside him and being hoarded by Mischief as his latent ability formed into a personality of its own. His parents worked to make sure that Jake and Mischief learned to coexist and raised them as brothers rather than a single person. Jake came to be quite fond of Mischief, treating him as his funny and rebellious brother, while Mischief grew to view Jake as someone he wanted to keep safe, though he’d never admit it. The two grew up peacefully until their father passed away from cancer, this event result in some differences in the boys with Jake becoming quieter and would often sit by himself listening to music while Mischief started to ignore rules and stopped listening when people asked him to do things.

Name: Amy Hartnell
Alias (if applicable): Firestarter
Gender/Age: Female/23
Sexuality: Bisexual
1677593017628.png
Image created using https://picrew.me (Picrew|つくってあそべる画像メーカー)
Personality: An energetic woman with the personality akin to a firework. She loves being active and is highly excitable and incredibly immature. She loves to goof around and tends to do whatever the hell she wants and is used to getting her own way. She hates authority figures and is not fond of being told what to do.
Powers/Abilities: She can control and generate heat and fire. She is also surprisingly durable with a complete Immunity to fire, heat, etc. She also has horns and sharp teeth that she uses in close combat.
Weaknesses: Water is a big weakness for her as are strong air currents. Her durability allows her to take a few punches or kicks with no effect, but she isn’t bulletproof and is far from indestructible.
Backstory: Born to a gangster and his wife, Amy had a very interesting childhood. People often avoided her due to her appearance but not her parents or her father's gang, The Hellions, they thought of her as their mascot and every single one of the gang members were big helps in raising her to be the woman she was today. She learnt to lie, steal and cheat people at a young age but didn't discover her pyrokinetic abilities till she was about 7 years old during a police raid of The Hellions HQ when out of fear she screamed and caused an explosion of fire that incinerated the building killing everyone inside at the time, from cops, to gang members and her mother. Her father had been out with the remaining gang members and returned to find Amy bawling her eyes out in the burnt remains of the building. Her Father never blamed her and viewed this newfound power as a great tool and helped to teach Amy to use it. By the time she was 18 she had been doing jobs for The Hellions for about 2 years and was set to take over from her father as the Head of the gang. This came sooner than she expected when her father was incarcerated not long after her 20th birthday, but she promised him she'd take over and lead The Hellions. So, she did, and she led them right into their prime as they robbed and extorted themselves to a level akin to Yakuza terrorizing the streets of Hell's Kitchen.

Name: Soren "Shun" Takeshi

Alias: Spectre

Gender/Age: Male/15

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Appearance: Soren stands at 5’9 with a toned build and slightly tan complexion, and his eyes are a deep indigo. His hair is medium length, a natural black with dark violet streaks, and often tied in a half-up-half-down style in public with long bangs swept to barely obscure his right eye. His casual attire of choice is a simple tee or long sleeved shirt thrown on over a pair of navy jeans, adding a basic hoodie or sweater if the weather calls for it. His vigilante suit, however, consists of a black ninja suit with dark, purple embellishments on the collar, black bracers, boots, and belt, and a thin, gray scarf worn around his neck that he can also use to cover his nose and mouth.

Personality: Soren is quiet. Like, really quiet. So much so that almost everyone he tries to approach never notices him until he’s right in front of them. He seems to have no presence, only being noticed in public by those with whom he’s had a solid rapport, of which the number is few. However, to such people who can say they truly know him, Soren is generally seen as the soft-spoken but friendly type; he avoids large groups if he can but has the approachable disposition to make friends. Those he befriends can attest to his loyalty, generosity, and eager willingness to help wherever he can. He is gentle and handles things with care, as he often expresses his distaste for conflict, no matter how trivial or major. However, his virtue primarily stems from an unhealthy drive for perfection, which he silently enforces upon himself to a harmful degree.

When fighting crime in the cover of night and shadow, Soren is also completely silent, if being as quiet as he usually was wasn't enough, but what was once delicacy becomes brutal precision, and what was once a soft-spoken concern for conflict an unwavering sense of justice as he strikes blow after ruthless blow to the criminal underworld. Such devotion and resolve is known only to him, however, as Soren dares not reveal his secret line of work to anyone close, especially not his parents; it didn't take a genius to understand the danger one felt donning the vigilante's cape as the son of the literal Chief of Police. Unfortunately, his rebellious heroism also further exacerbates his perfectionist and self-deprecative nature, and every insecurity and failure slowly but surely whittles at his mind. Soren believes in taking action to fight against evil, but his disagreement with his mother's strict adherence to a complacent law leaves him no choice but to see himself as one of the few true solutions, further enforcing his need to be perfect. Because if he isn't, he'll fail, and he may as well have never started to begin with.

Powers/Abilities:

Shadow Waltz - An expert martial artist and close-quarters fighter, Wolfe has created and mastered his own, unorthodox style of fighting in a technique he named the Shadow Waltz. This style deals in flowing movements to deftly dispatch targets with precise strikes and the employment of pressure points to cripple mobility, but Wolfe can also switch his tempo as needed with added options to overwhelm with a more direct and straight method of attack through the help of Ghostbreath.

Ghostbreath - Ghostbreath is a more superhuman ability of Wolfe’s that comes in the form of an energy that courses through his body and moves with the flow of oxygen as he breathes. When harnessed, his Ghostbreath can be seen as wisps of black and indigo flame, boosting his agility and stealth. The more deeply Wolfe breathes and the more air he takes in, the stronger his Ghostbreath becomes, allowing him to move faster, jump higher, fall slower, and effectively eliminate the sound of his footsteps (dependent on how much Ghostbreath he’s harnessed). However, because Ghostbreath is connected to his breathing, this ability can be made completely ineffective should the flow of oxygen in Wolfe’s body be cut off (i.e. getting the air knocked out of him, suffocated, etc.).

Weaknesses: Soren’s perfectionism created a creed that was established when he first started hero work, requiring him to make himself and no one else the solution to any conflict. As a result, teamwork is a foreign concept to him, and he may find himself in a tight situation if he ends up biting off more than he can chew. His close-quarters fighting style also limits him substantially against assailants who rely on exploiting long distance interactions.

Extracurriculars: Soren enjoys dabbling in the martial arts club from time to time, though he tries to avoid sticking out despite his clear superiority in fighting prowess.

Backstory: To be revealed if I feel like writing something compelling

Name: Vanessa M. Everest

Alias: Might Girl

Gender/Age: Female/15 (freshman)

Sexuality: Heterosexual (she hasn’t really thought about it)

Appearance:

VanessaEverest.png

Personality: She’s powerful and she knows it, but “with great power, there must also come a great responsibility” isn’t just a quote from a Spider-Man comic to her: it’s her entire code of ethics. While she perceives her father as an upstanding hero, like Superman in every way, she aspires to follow that example, and strives to be the best hero she can be, even if that puts her in compromising positions. Vanessa dreams of founding a superhero team like her father’s, but for the younger generation. The only problem is: she’s actually terrible at social situations. Despite all her spunk, power, and integrity, she’s awkward and shy up close. This makes starting a superhero team a little difficult. Since her father and his Paragons have the big threats covered, Vanessa is content to stick to the ground and be a street-level hero, something her father believes she’s above doing. Nevertheless, Vanessa is adamant that she clean up the streets in her spare time away from school and studying, things she takes very seriously. After all, not only is her dad Superman, but he’s an MIT graduate. She puts a lot of pressure on herself to live up to his mantle, both as Vanessa, and as Might Girl.

Powers/Abilities: Inherited abilities from her father, Grayson Everest aka Patriot. Isn’t proficient with them, and doesn’t know how to access most of them. Currently limited to simple heat vision, x-ray vision, superhuman flight, strength, durability, speed, and super-senses (hearing, sight, extrasensory perception, and enhanced vocals).

Weaknesses: Being strong, she’s never seen the need to learn how to actually fight, making her predictable in combat. She’s naive, headstrong, and almost obsessed with upholding good morals. She’s easy enough to trick, and her big heart is easy to take advantage of.

Extracurriculars: Due to her desire to be just as involved and competent as she perceives her father, Vanessa extends herself beyond her limits, attempting to be involved with everything she can. Outside of studying and attending classes as Vanessa, and outside of superheroing as Might Girl, she’s in track, girl’s volleyball, band, choir, and (at her father’s pressuring) has taken up a part-time job at the local McDonald’s. Underneath her bubbly exterior, she’s desperate for a break. Superheroing is what truly keeps her going, as it’s her true passion.

Backstory: Vanessa never knew her mother, but she possesses vague memories of her. She was a beautiful woman, Vanessa believes. Aside from that, she’s almost clueless. She was raised primarily by her father, who was often distant, making the developing Vanessa latch onto any attention he gave her, and she found his affections usually came at feats of strength, and feats of mind, so she pushed herself into superheroing, developing it into her passion and hobby, while also pushing herself in her studies to make him proud. Being a larger-than-life individual, Grayson is almost a god-like alien to his daughter, who tries desperately to earn his approval in every walk of life. This has left her with little time to actually develop social skills, making her terrible at interactions, and despite being book-smart, she’s not street-smart (despite being a street-level heroine). She’s spent her whole life trying to appease her father that she’s never stopped to consider what it is that she wants.

Previously Eliiiscool
Name: Amanda
Alias: N/A (Might gain one)
Gender/Age: Female/15 (Freshman)
Sexuality: Bisexual
Appearance: Amanda appears as three triplets, with two being only an inch apart at 5'7" and 5'8", her third body being only 4'4". Her black hair is grown down to her shoulder on each body and tied into a pigtail to keep it out of her eyes. She has dark blue eyes and a slender build. She tends to wear simple, plain t-shirts, black hoodies, and jeans, with baseball caps often gracing her head.
Amanda’s smallest body needs glasses.
Personality: Amanda comes off as ambitious and bold, though she can sometimes be cowardly when her health is put on the line, or when sketchy stuff comes around. When she thinks to do something, she often gets it done, keeping herself busy and achieving what she wants to. Her ability to multitask without difficulty gives her an air of confidence and capability.
Popularity: Her larger two bodies are fairly popular, despite being the new girl, shes really outgoing and charismatic. This leads her to be in some groups. Her smaller body tends to be seen as more of a nerd, and is often picked on, only really defended by herself is another body is around to do it.
Powers/Abilities:
Triality: Amanda’s mind is split up between three bodies, and she can control each one independently. (This is not a hivemind, it is one mind, having complete and original control over multiple bodies, controlling them like limbs) This effect is nonmagical, and can not be cut off without killing her body.
Due to her control over multiple brains, she has a much stronger mind than probably anyone, making her resistant to mind control and its effects.

Three as one:
Having three brains gives her the advantage of several brains worth of thinking power(Though not 100% of it as they are doing other things). This allows her to multitask and set aside portions of her thoughts to 'completely' focus on a few things at once.

Master of deception:
As she is used to, and actively lives several lives at once, she knows how to call upon many backstories, either fabricated or true to defend herself or weave a completely believable story. She gives no outward appearance of such deceptions, and any nervous ticks she has trained herself to use another body to perform.

Tracker:
Not technically a superpower, but due to the spread-out nature of her senses, she has an easy time covertly tracking people, which is sometimes expressed as inexplicable knowledge.

Super strength:
Amanda has Captain America level strength.
Weaknesses: Amanda is not resistant to most physical attacks, often relying on her broader view of the situation to make things work for her. She also tends to not like risk-taking, wondering what feeling one of her bodies dying feels like
Extracurriculars: Amanda does a lot of things with her time, often studying while attending two clubs at the same time, and going to two or three classes simultaneously. She likes making friends and will almost always hang out with the same friends in the same body. The teachers of the School know about her powers, but the students don't. To other students, she seems to be a group of gifted sisters.
Backstory: She was born as a set of triplets, two bigger sisters, and one that struggled more than the others. It became apparent she was different when the two helped the smaller one to a fault, even coming from separate rooms, despite their young age. She was raised and became a handful as she gained a mischievous streak, able to top anyone in coordination. It was made clear to her to not show off her ability to just anyone, as this freaked out other people her age. Her family ended up moving, ending up in a bigger city. She wanted to keep her condition to herself, but her parent made sure to tell the school about it, to accommodate her, though Amanda quickly took advantage of her condition to get top grades and do everything she wanted to.

Name: Pierre Anderson

Alias: Bluebolt

Gender/Age: Male, 15

Sexuality: Straight

Appearance: A scrawny young man, with ginger-colored hair, and a pair of blue eyes. Pierre is light-skinned, and he wears a sky blue shirt with a brown cardigan on the top of it, while he wears brown leather gloves on his hands. Finally, he wears light brown pants, and black shoes, along with a watch on his left hand.

Personality: Pierre is reckless, hot headed, and definitely agressive with his opinions, which makes him a bit of a liability to have on most groups. He means well though, and wishes well to his colleagues and family. One thing about him is that he hates saying goodbye, and that he usually goes with hit first, questions later. He's a nice guy though, although maybe not willing to show it.

Powers/Abilities:
Thunder: Pierre is able to control and manifest electric currents, able to attack multiple targets with electric currents, usually paralyzing them for short periods of time, although it depends on the strength of the current. He can channel this energy for longer periods, resulting in stronger currents, although harder to control. He can also attack by a direct current, usually stronger, but should be avoided.

Super-Speed: He becomes much faster than normal, and usually runs at about 120kph, thrice a normal human could. He can turn this on and off with a thought, though.

Weaknesses: Because of his arrogance, he usually doesn't listen to other's opinions and would rather go with his own, along with his recklessness where he usually opts for hit first, questions later, which usually ends up with wrong conclusions sixty-five percent of the time.

Another weakness of his is that his ability, Thunder, uses energy molecules inside of his body and transforms them into electricity. This results in less energy molecules inside of his body, weakening him if his power is used many times over and over. He also isn't skilled in controlling strong currents of electricity, so it usually goes haywire before it can actually reach the target. He also dislikes the direct attack as it requires more energy molecules to use, not even adding the energy to run that fast with his other ability.

Extracurriculars: He joined the track team and archery team, and isn't thinking of joining any others. Other than that, he's a laid-back student, and somehow he gets by with As and Bs on his report card.

Backstory: Pierre was born to a superhero and a cop, and Pierre was feared for this. He was a good kid, and was almost the opposite of who he is today. Although, when his father (the superhero) had captured a villain, he opted to asking questions first, as there was no way his dad was hitting anyone without a reason. Unbeknownst to him, the villain had explosives with him, and both his father and the villain was killed. His mother mourned the death of her significant other, while Pierre had other plans.

He wouldn't follow in his father's footsteps, He would hit first than ask questions. His mom, clearly upset, wasn't happy about his decision, but she knew it was for the best. He stayed with his mother, and hadn't attended school for the last week, due to the loss of his father. Three years from that event, he's been in therapy, trying to help him accept the death of his father, and it's going fairly well, if you ask him.

DevVoid

Previously Deathstalker62
Name: Edward Kells

Alias: Ed/Eddie

Gender/Age: Currently Male, yet interchangeable/15

Sexuality: Straight (He's not one to put priority on figuring these things out.)

Appearance: Ed has a seemingly normal appearance at first glance - a boy with an average, if slightly widened stature, pale, caucasian skin, messy, long light-blond hair and emerald-green eyes, one covered by a white, medical eyepatch, all while bound to a wheelchair. Freckles go from cheek to cheek and across the nose while his ears are hidden behind his long strands of hair that almost reach to his shoulders but not quite. Most of his person is hidden by clothing - during colder days, he tends to wear a thick, wooly sweater with a grass-green and light-green pattern, the collar of a white shirt worn underneath that’s popped up to cover his neck, while on colder days he wears a simple diamond-patterned sweater vest over his usual white dress shirt, light-red and dark-red tinted in the aforementioned diamond pattern. For legwear, Ed has himself a pair of blue jeans, white socks and black boots that are all sewn together and attached to his shirt, usually with padded pillows and wooden limbs bound by strings inside to create a facade of normality and, out of sight via a square-patterned, light-blue/dark-blue blanket over his ‘legs’ and hanging down the back of the wheelchair just enough, there is a tank attached to the bottom of the wheelchair’s seat, a hole and a pipe leading up to Kell’s upper half and inside his shirt. Within this tank and through the pipe, the ‘bottom half’ of Edwards lay - a mass of skin and flesh, not exposed enough to cause bleeding or pain but still visibly upsetting to anyone unaware of his unusual trait. Under his clothing, there even lay hidden body parts that had their human parts replaced, such as his hidden eye being a lizard’s or patches on his arms being cow skin, bird feathers or fish scales. With all this in mind however, it's not unusual for Edward to suddenly have slight appearance changes and be overall consistent - after all, even he can make mistakes with his form, or forget certain details at times.

download20230304001259.png

(Source: Picrew)

Personality: Kells is a very cautious and lonesome person who had to be home-schooled until he could manifest himself a proper form - or at least one that only needed a proper upper body while the rest of himself was contained within a tank attached to the underside of a wheelchair. So, while he’s not very socially skilled, he’s not shy of people per sé. More, people tend to be shy of him and mockery from his peers lead him to be a more withdrawn, introverted person.

Powers/Abilities: Unstable Genetics - Edward was born with a rare birth defect - so rare in fact that it is the first of its kind, that Eddie got to name it AND that it shouldn't even be scientifically possible to acquire in the first place! Out of one reason or another, Eddie was born with double helix strands that were very fragile, yet versatile. They aren't very stable, but aren't weak enough to completely put his being in disarray. It first gave him difficulty to control and maintain a human form, starting out his first two years as a sort of fleshy blob, a human-turned-slime. It was.. not pretty nor easy, to say the least.

As he's been able to adapt to it since, he's come to figure out quite some abilities that this defect granted him. First and foremost, it granted him the ability to imprint the DNA samples of what he consumes, such as animals or plants, allowing him to copy their genes and use them for his own gain. This can go from simply accumulating their physical and mental prowess to gaining their biological traits as abilities to full-on shapeshifting.

Second, he’s started gaining some control over his own source code, allowing more accurate shifting involving his body, such as allowing him to twist his body in inhuman ways, move his internal structure around freely and even soften or shrink his bones to squeeze through tight spaces, or even embolster his body by adapting other samples into it to selectively increase his own capabilities, be it mental or physical. There’s still a lot to learn for him and a bunch of stuff to train, but these are about all he’s found himself capable of at the moment.

And thirdly, it allowed him to store DNA in him like a blood bank, only if it were double helix strands instead of blood cells. This allows him to reserve samples from what he consumes, which disintegrates what he’s eaten into a dust (that he needs to cough out again, mind you. Dust isn’t very tasty - or edible, for that matter). Theoretically, he could also dispense DNA again via blood samples, though he’s never had a need or the methods to find this out.

Weaknesses: The biggest weakness of all, Edward had found that he cannot adapt to the genetic code of those with powers like his, only to the generic structure of basic creatures that aren’t supernaturally empowered.

Second, he has to put focus on maintaining his shape, else he might either end up becoming a mass of hybridized body parts or even just melt into a blob of flesh again like before. As such, things that can put mental stress on him, lose his temper and generally have him lose focus is what can cause him to destabilize more than usual and effectively become nothing but a lump of moving, sentient mass with no way of harming.

Thirdly, empowering his body is a selective ability - say, he’s acquired a major wound that needs fixing straight away and some minor wounds that won’t end up as lethal in a short span of time. He can put what genetics he’s got stored within him from consuming samples to grow over the wound or otherwise regenerate from it while simultaneously slowing down- or even completely negating the regeneration of the minor wounds due to putting attention on the more important gash on his body. Think of it like a tank of fluid - you COULD seal the few cracks, but you could also plug the massive hole that’s causing the most damage while temporarily ignoring the cracks that are causing minor leakage.

Extracurriculars: Due to the circumstances of his condition, Ed hasn’t risked participating in any clubs yet out of fear of somehow blowing his cover, nor has he taken up a proper job yet - rather, he does odd jobs around the school for people in exchange for money and likes to spend his free time in the library.

Backstory: Everything that hasn’t already been explained in the sections above I will leave to be found out IRP via interaction.

The Dark Fairy

Previously Eliiiscool
Name: Jenny
Alias: Amber/Perfect (Currently unknown, but that is the Alias she will be known by)
Gender/Age: Female/15(Freshman)
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance: Jenny is 5’, with long dirty blond hair, and plain brown eyes. She stands straight, but this does not cause her to look much taller. Her preferred clothing is an old grey hoodie, with new, cheap jeans. She wears a necklace under her clothes, that wraps around and fuses to her collarbone. She has a series of scars on her right-hand palm.
Personality: Jenny is a calm and mellow girl on the outside, but ok the inside she’s bitter and spiteful. She will hold a grudge for a long time, and seek revenge in various degrees of extreme.
Jenny is a Megalomaniac, seeking to be the most powerful there is. She does not care about hurting people, and in fact, would rather not, but if they got in the way of her power….
Powers/Abilities:
Recreation:
Jenny can place the powers of other supers in gemstones. This requires a part of the superhero. Any part can work, but some require a much larger amount than others. Blood requires very little amount, while something like hair or skin flakes would need a lot.

Assimilation:
Jenny has a necklace fused to her body. Inside is three slots for gemstones. A gemstone she had created can be placed in this necklace to give her the powers of the superhero she made it off. These superpowers can be turned off at will if she discovers they are harmful.

Weakness Negation:
While Jenny is subjected to every weakness (that makes sense) her powers come with, she can sacrifice slots in her necklace to mitigate or neutralize those weaknesses using normal gemstones, the rarer and higher quality, with clearness as a priority in that, the more effective the gemstone is.
Weaknesses: Along with the weakness of any superhero she copies, she has a physically weak spot on her hand. Her scars are sensitive, and very painful when touched, much less struck.
Extracurriculars: Chemistry club
Backstory: Jenny was the daughter of a crazy and evil scientist. After her mother died in childbirth, she was subjected to tests, to try and create the perfect super being. Everything she was fed, taught, and allowed to do was centered on this. Her hand was often cut open to collect blood and tissue samples, causing her great pain, and gaining a habit of trying to hide and protect her hand. When she was around 11, the paragons actually put a stop to his work, and took her away. But not before she could grab a ton of the crystals her dad was obsessed over and claim them as her own. They let her live in their headquarters for a week before child protective services got their stuff together and put her in a proper home.
She was placed in a wonderful home with an old superhero, Alan, who took pity on what she had gone through. There, she has a brother she has grown to love. Her new family and others that know her past are worried, as she has resisted therapy, and just wanted to go to school, noticing a small population of supers, just hanging around!

Name: Anna Zoolander

Alias: Wildlife

Gender/Age: Female/16

Sexuality: TBD

Appearance: Anna has Heterochromia, her right eye is light shade blue while her left one has a light yellow color. She stands at 5 '5 and has an athletic build with a sizable bust. She has long messy hot pink hair where two buns are tied to look like animal ears above her head. Anna appears to have a rather sharp set of teeth.
1677911664988.png

Personality: Anna is a very laid back and positive person, she's jolly and energetic and always ready to face whatever life has to throw at her. She likes to speak to new people despite the fact that she has trouble holding conversations at times, she can get quite awkward and is still figuring out social cues. She might appear a bit naive but Anna actually has very good instincts and can figure out if someone is trying to take advantage of her. In her hero persona, Anna likes to try to resolve conflicts without the use of force, often trying to talk down the people committing crimes. If that doesn't work, the girl tries to get confrontations as quickly as she can with very quick and precise strikes.

Powers/Abilities: Anna possesses great control over her ability to turn into animals. She can choose to fully or partially morph her body and can even mix and max different animal parts. She is also able to simply gain animalistic traits without committing to a physical transformation. She can turn into any creature she has seen and she has a basic level understanding of their biology. There is a possibility she can turn into more than just animals but that's a path Anna has yet to explore.

Weaknesses: Rapidly switching between different forms can cause massive strains on Anna's body, it can even lead to injury if pushed too far. Deep within Anna's psyche appears to be a second, bloodthirsty personality that rears its ugly head whenever Anna overexerts herself. This has caused the young teen to be more hesitant to get into prolonged confrontation as she fears what this split personality might cause her to do.

Extracurriculars: Anna loves hanging out with the animals on campus and class pets. She also works at a pet store during her free time. She also occasionally partakes in the various clubs that the school has to offer, to get some exercise.

Backstory: The earliest memory Anna has about her life was waking up in a plain white room in some facility. The world within those walls would be all the girl would know for the next few years. It appeared she was part of some sort of a program to create loyal, living weapons, soldiers who would not ask questions and simply do as they are told. She didn't have a name, only a designation number, she wasn't allowed to feel emotions, those would only get in the way, she couldn't even think for herself, that wasn't necessary, all that mattered was that she performed well. In that lab, she wasn't a human, merely subject 0126, a product to be sold off to the highest bidder. Inside the confines of what was basically her prison, 0126 was trained and conditioned to become a ruthless and subservient killing machine. 0126 was also subject to many body enhancing experiments to further increase her effectiveness, it was through one of these experiments where she gained the ability to manipulate her DNA to morph into animals. 0126 hated every moment of being there, unable to decide anything for herself, being treated like an object, she loathed every act of what the facility was forcing her to commit. Unfortunately, because she had no way to escape her predicament, it appeared the life of being used as a weapon was the only path ahead of her.

However, it appeared fate had other plans in store for the young nameless girl. Many years passed until the day Subject 0126 was finally deemed ready to begin operation. Just as she was to be shipped out alongside the others from the newest batch of super soldiers, the door to the facility was suddenly blown off its hinges. It seemed information about the facility leaked and got into the hands of law enforcement. After a lengthy investigation, the permission for a full on raid was given. The police squadron aided by some local heroes busted into the lab, ready to shut the operation down. Caught off guard, the workers were ill prepared to handle this situation and began commanding all their super soldiers to attack while they tried to make a getaway. Due to her conditioning, 0126 was unable to resist the command, leading to a messy confrontation between the invading forces and the super soldiers. Then, everything went blank. When the girl came to, she found herself laying on a hospital bed alongside many of the other victims of the super soldier program. It seemed the raid was a success, most of the personnel were captured and the unwilling test subjects rescued. Although, some of the facility workers were able to get away admist the chaos and took a few of their test subjects along with them so this situation isn't over for good yet. Still, it appeared that the nightmare was finally over for Subject 0126 and the others like her who were successfully recovered.

Learning of the outside world was not as easy as 0126 hoped, the years of conditioning made it very difficult for the girl to integrate into society. On multiple occasions, she nearly ripped someone's face off simply for being an annoyance. But, with the help of a police officer who basically became her foster father, 0126 was able to slowly rid herself of those murderous tendencies and become a normal girl. Well, as normal as one with superhuman abilities can be anyways. Although it appeared that 0126 was finally able to leave her old life behind -she even got a name- all the treatment she received at the facility has left a dormant beast deeply rooted within her psyche that she can't seem to get rid of no matter how hard she tries. One that risks awakening at a moment's notice. A final parting gift from the organization that has caused her much harm. The girl is still unable to completely escape her past, but that doesn't mean she's going to let that weigh her down. 0126, now named Anna, set her sight forward towards the future, determined to prove she is more than just a mindless killer.

The Alright Attorney

Previously AlrightAttorney
Name: Lucas Cullen

Alias: Nothing... yet

Gender/Age: Male/17

Sexuality: Bisexual

Appearance:
21969_Hg39gJue.png

Personality:
Lucas is still learning how to get used to interacting with others. He's perfectly capable of holding a conversation, but finds it difficult to ever speak about his personal life, always feeling like he's hiding parts of his life. He gets along well with his new family, and is trying to get better at letting people into his life.

Powers/Abilities: Lucas has a set of abilities based around the elements of Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. But it's not basic bending, each element has a unique function.

Earth: An armour made of the very earth surrounds Lucas, increasing his defense and physical offense. He can't move very fast, or jump very high, but this is often helpful when he finds himself surrounded.

Air: Gusts of wind lift him into the air, allowing for some flight, as well as being able to keep some foes at a distance is they get to close to him.

Fire: Lucas is able to imbue weapons with fire, making them far stronger as well as a sharp burning edge. He currently uses a few throwing daggers and short blade. (Alan didn't let him have a sword.)

Water: Lucas can change the state of matter of water in an instant. This one is the element most similar to bending Lucas has, being able to guide the flow of water, as well as being able to immediately turn it into ice or steam if needed. He always keeps a supply of water with him when out on patrols.

Weaknesses: Lucas is not able to use the elements together. So he can not have both the Earth armour at the same time as his blazing weapons, or any other combination. He also can't swap back and forth at a quick rate, each element having a fairly short cooldown period.

Extracurriculars: Joined the theater club in an effort to get more confident. He can also be found in computer lab pretty much every lunch, having formed something of a clique with a few of the people that also spend their time there.

Backstory: Lucas's father, Isaiah Cullen was a brilliant scientist, one of the most well researched when it came to studying Supers and their abilities. Some people thought he was even a bit too good. The underground super research group known as S.P.A.R.D.A. kidnapped both Isaiah and the 7 year old Lucas. Using his son as leverage, S.P.A.R.D.A. was able to get Isaiah to work on creating a formula that could grant ordinary humans some form of super power.

For four years, Isaiah worked on this formula, trying to perfect, all while keeping his son close, and still doing his best to educate Lucas. He taught his son all about proper heroes, wanting to keep the young man inspired, that one day they'd be saved. And eventually that day did come, but it came with a hefty price. Eventually a group of heroes known as The Champions has discovered the S.P.A.R.D.A. hideout, intent on putting a stop to the groups dealings. The heroes made short work of the men there, but made the mistake of assuming Isaiah was a member of the group, accidentally killing the scientist.

With the last of his strength, Isaiah gave the now eleven year old Lucas the only copy of the imperfected formula, believing this was the only way his son could be kept safe in a world without his father.

"Remember the stories I told you. The heroes, the good they do. Be like them. Above all else, survive."

With those words, Lucas ran, as fast as he could, and as far away as possible. It wasn't until he stopped and saw that the tears falling off his face were hovering in the air above his hands that he realized just what he could do. He spent a year on the streets, honing his abilities and defeating the smallest of small time criminals. It wasn't until he was found by Alan Martinson, a former member of the Champions, the very team that accidentally took Isaiah's life.

Wanting to right this wrong, Alan adopted Lucas, to help raise the boy and give him as good a life as possible. Aware of the young man's abilities, Alan worked to help Lucas train them rather than try and keep the boy from using his powers. Eventually, a year after Lucas was adopted, Alan took on another child, named Jenny. Noticing some similarities in both her and Lucas's past, he hoped the two would be able to help eachother.

I hate being creative and making new characters yippee so i'm just trying this gal AGAIN lol

Name: Finley Nova ; introduces herself as 'Fin'

Alias: The Silent Scream

Gender/Age: Female / 15

Sexuality: If she doesn't know, I don't have to either

Appearance: Fin has never been the type to put a lot of effort into her appearance. One might describe her as wholly unremarkable, someone who you'd look at in the street and immediately forget about. Auburn hair of medium length is thrown into windblown waves, giving her a rather frazzled look, as if she woke up late and only had time to run a brush through it. Her downturned, brown eyes are often contemplative, a little far-away- though she's seen more often than not with a spark of shock, fear or annoyance, like she's heard something out of the ordinary. She's wiry and a little below-average in height.

Personality: Rather quiet and unassuming, one on the surface might assume Fin to be meek- but she is no shrinking violet. Capable of standing her ground, Fin has set beliefs that she keeps to, knowing truly what she wants- to help those who need it with the blessing/curse of her powers, and simultaneously to remain undetected lest she run the risk of being beholden to anyone. Fin greatly dislikes being told what to do, enjoying her agency. Any motivation she has to do anything is often murdered by obligation. This leads her to being rather an average student.

Decisive and logical, Fin considers herself honest above all else- though there is a pessimistic bias to her words, she claims there never would be. Her decisiveness, aided by the buzz of her natural curiosity, often leads her to reckless abandon, rushing into making decisions in order to avoid the crawl of doubt. Over time she has earned herself a taste for eavesdropping, and is enamoured with interesting stories and people.

Despite a wordless demeanour, Fin is not unflappable- in fact she is quite easily scared. Rash decisions often end up getting her physically injured by her own powers, and her decisiveness can also mean that plans are poorly-thought-through. She finds unnatural suffering disturbing, and genuinely has a desire to help those in need, even if it's in her own silent and often undetectable manner.

Powers/Abilities: Fin's powers span general psychic abilities, which have a little bit of a bite if she doesn't think them through enough.
TELEKINESIS- Can move objects without touching them. Can't move too many things at once, or will receive an unbearable headache. Also cannot move anything heavier than she could physically lift at the moment.
TELEPATHY- Can project / see thoughts and images in the minds of others. Fin uses it to speak sometimes, but saying too much/using it too often gives her a blinding migraine. She naturally picks up on surface-level emotions, but has to pry to see the source of them. She also utilises telepathy to dazzle her opponents with a flash of bright white light in their mind and create horrific, deafening screeches, temporarily blinding, deafening or simply disorientating them- these mental screams are from where her alias hails.
TELEPORTATION- Can instantaneously warp to a different location. She has to be able to physically see where she is teleporting to, and the further she goes the longer she has to concentrate on it. Doing this too much induces a nosebleed, and teleporting too hurriedly can cause physical injury, as if leaving some of herself behind.
CLEANSE- Can mostly or even completely remove the pain of wounds from others and stabilise them, as if influencing the body to speed up the healing process. She herself feels any pain that she takes away.

Weaknesses: As explained above, rash use / overuse of her powers causes her to be inflicted with pain both internally and sometimes even externally. If she pries too deep into the thoughts of another against their will, she is inflicted with building migraine that might eventually temporarily blind her. She cannot use her powers on someone/something she cannot see, unless it is a telepathic message- and in that case, she has to be able to perfectly picture the face of the other.

Extracurriculars (or fun little tidbits about their school life in particular): BIG, big eavesdropper. Occasionally writes for the school newspaper, and often hides away in the art room. Extremely average student whose name is often forgotten even by the teachers, something she never seems to mind much.

Backstory: Since a young age it's just been Fin and her mother. She doesn't talk much at all, especially about her home life. Outside of school she spends a lot of time caring for her chronically ill mother, something she's been doing since a young age. The reason Fin doesn't talk revolves around her relationship with her mother- she's the source of one of these ailments when her powers manifested, and is wracked with the guilt of it. I'll leave the rest for whatever emerges IC!
