Hi everyone! Originally this was going to be an adaptation of my old Splice rp concept, but, well I got a bit sidetracked in the brainstorming process and I think it's overall a lot better. The world is still in development, though I've laid the groundwork, and my hope is that everyone can contribute and we can turn this into a fun kingdom vs kingdom type rp. Anyway, enough rambling from me, here's the important stuff. Let me know if there are any questions!

The year is 3107. 300 years ago society was a utopia, or at least it seemed like one. Thanks to improvements with AI and space travel, mankind was mining the universe from the comfort of their own homes. Global warming was solved, healthcare was not a concern, and thanks to the new ability to alter nutritional qualities of food, the increasing population was easily supported by a moss like substance that could be rapidly grown and taste like whatever you desired while still providing the utmost in health. On the surface everything was perfect, but this image of a utopia was only preserved by the government banishing “ undesirables” to the world beneath the surface.

At the age of 15 all members of society were forced to take an aptitude test that was said to measure their ability to contribute to society; however, in reality it measured their willingness to conform. People of high intelligence or strong individual beliefs were seen as threats to the fragile utopia were sent to live in underground bunker cities where their individuality was never a threat. Unfortunately for the social elite, they were unknowingly ensuring that these rebels were the only ones with a future.

If you have the ability to mess with the universe, it is only logical that the universe will get you back. And in 2817 a shard of the moon, which turned out to have contained abundant amounts of an element known as tontrium struck the earth, destroying about half the planet in a giant crater and pushing all remaining continents together on the other side to create a new Pangea. The only people who survived were those in the underground bunkers.

Quickly, a new bid for power began amongst all the individualists and the wild life that was mutated and empowered in the radiation after impact. It was only thanks to the power that even trace amounts of tontrium provided in ores, the people were able to survive in the post apocalyptic hell scape.
It provided a near limitless energy source, becoming essential to power all new technology and even provided weapons. Soon enough the strength or your group was determined by how much tontrium you had, and strength was the only currency that mattered.

An unknown power drew certain people to pure masses of tontrium called Brontea, and upon coming in contact with them the brontea was absorbed into their bodies, granting them great powers. With the newfound strength to match their ambition, a few of these people went on to found their own factions, gaining more power for themselves as they amassed more tontrium ores and brontea. Now, the world enters a phase of superpowered warfare in an attempt for domination. Which faction will you align behind and is your conviction strong enough to survive?

Important post with more details

After gaining a brontea core your power can activate as 1 of 3 categories depending on the nature of your innermost desire.
  • Manifestation: if your desire is to gain something, your power will revolve around the creation of something
  • Extension: if your desire is to change something your power will revolve around affecting/altering your environment. This also includes most elemental powers like producing fire and lightning
-Internalization: if your desire is a personal goal (like to be super attractive or super strong) your power will alter your own body

Evolution
Your powers can only ever remain within your initial category; however, there are also 3 ways in which your powers can grow and evolve.
  • affirmation: going all in on your current desire, may require a sacrifice or a great display of conviction. Essentially buffs your current power to the next level (ex: going from
  • adaptation: changing your desire or gaining parallel desires, allows for the development of secondary abilities that may be different from the ones granted by your original desire
  • corruption: shattering your conviction and corrupting it. This is the hardest to achieve (think of it like changing to the dark side) Occurs by doing something inherently against your initial desire (if your desire was to protect your family you’d have to kill one of them). Your power would be corrupted and take on qualities of an opposite power, essentially leading to an unrestrained form that is harder to control

the goal with this power system is to be simple enough for anyone to grasp, yet for those who desire more complexity it can be achieved by messing with the orders of evolutionary stages. For example, you could first corrupt a power and then affirm it to buff the corrupted state, or you could buff the base state with affirmation first and then corrupt it to yield a different result as an opposite to the affirmed desire. There are a lot of ways to play around with it that I will demonstrate through characters I plan to introduce later.

These are the different factions you can choose to begin in. I left their bios a bit vague in order to allow for some creative development by the people who join them and definitely not at all because it would've taken too long to write super descriptive details for all of them by myself. The door is open for people to fill in bios for the significant figures I list for each faction, but I am also prepared to do them on my own. You can change allegiances down the road so don't stress too much about picking a faction, but please note it will have an influence on your story, so it is worth looking at all of them.
Sorry for the sloppiness, but I'm hardly a writer and much less an artist.

Red- Exignis Empire
Blue- Binazuma
Yellow- Ramilahr
Pink- Forentvilles
Orange- Selva
Green- Monte
Purple- Lunaria
Light Blue- Tusaro
White- Makuini

Color on map: purple
Form of government: Triumvirate (3 rulers)
Significant Figures:
  • Tem: ruler of the sea
  • Sekwi: ruler of the skies
  • Bebe: ruler of the earth
Strengths:
  • Has the largest unit of armed forces
  • Richest Faction
  • Large Territory
  • Knows a bit about the origin of Brontea
Weaknesses: (tbh aren’t many, this is kinda the all-arounder faction)
  • Surrounded by enemies on all sides
  • if any one of their 3 leaders falls they are extremely vulnerable
  • lack allies
Bio: One of the first established factions and original rival to Forentvilles. They have maintained dominance better than any other nation and are one of the main superpowers of the world. They do follow communist ideals, so you can take that as a positive or negative depending on your own personal beliefs. Basically, if you want a really safe starting bet this is a good faction to pick

Color on map: yellow
Form of government: Pharaoh, followed by advisors and then high priests who watch over some of their more populated cities
Significant Figures:
  • Pharaoh
  • 3 advisors
  • 7 high priests
Capital: Cairo
- the most populated city, built upon the roots of the original Cairo. The pharaoh lives in an obsidian pyramid even larger than the great pyramid that he constructed with his army of the dead
Strengths:
-the high ranking government officials are extremely powerful
-harsh environment lowers risk of attack from mutated beasts and makes it harder to invade with enemy forces
Weaknesses:
  • weak central army
  • lack of food resources leads to famished and impoverished people
  • government presence is low outside of a few main cities so there are crime rings. (Especially famous for their brothels) this also makes city to city travel dangerous
Bio: Named for the endless seas of sand, the ruins of old cities can barely be seen poking out from beneath the desert waves. To escape the heat, the lowest classes of people live burrowed in the remains of the cities beneath the sand and survive by robbing people passing from town to town. The land is only habitable thanks to the powers of the advisors and priests who created a new river to replace the Nile that flows between each major city and allows for agricultural development. Oasis settlements are also spread throughout the country and serve as headquarters for many branches of criminals

Color on map: White
Form of government: Democracy
Significant Figures:
  • The White Queen
  • Zero (head of the Vanguard forces)
Strengths:
  • Secret Location
  • They have Zero
Weaknesses:
  • Virtually no military force
  • The Queen herself is quite weak compared to other nations’ leaders
  • lacking natural resources
  • lacking technology
  • small territory
  • surrounded by Lunaria
Bio: The smallest of the factions bearing little to no military strength, Makuini was a dream project of a few inspired people who hoped to escape the land of Lunaria. The exact location of the faction is still unknown to the outsiders of the world, only knowing it to be somewhere amongst a range of mountains. The most prevalent of theories is it exists atop Mt. Everest; however, those who dared to make the climb that were not killed by vicious snow beasts were only greeted with a barren wasteland and death upon reaching its summit. The truth is, Makuini lays within Mt. Everest as a secret city in the interior only accessible through a secret tunnel at the top. Since the journey outside the city is perilous, the only villagers who go in and out are those who have trained in the vanguard. The queen herself is very weak but is loved by the people and is continually reelected into power because of her generosity and kind nature.

Ever since Zero joined, the faction has taken more of an interest in expanding, and the efforts are currently focused on Zero scouting out and recruiting young Brontea core individuals to join their forces.

Color on map: Pink
Form of government: Democracy turned into Monarchy
Significant Figures: the king
Strengths:
  • has the most tontrium weapons
  • best air force
  • has tontrium tanks
Weaknesses:
  • terrible leadership
  • prevalent mafia
Bio: Up until 25 years ago, Forentvilles was without a doubt the most powerful faction in the post-meteor world. A great leader inspired cities across the map to ban together to create something better, and the people of those cities elected him to become their president. Underneath him, the faction thrived as much as a country could during those times, and he was nearly unanimously re-elected at the end of every term. He was a powerful master of brontea but also a gentle soul and man of the people. He was so admired that when he died his daughter was elected to be their new leader, believing she would bring the same prosperity as her father. The people were wrong, she was a far better ruler. Rather than stay content with the territory Forentvilles had, she sought to expand, to liberate all people throughout new Pangea. Her conquest came easy, most civilians of competing nations even helped to overthrow their own government in hopes of being taken in under her regime. Forentvilles prospered, and near the end of her life the people wished to keep that royal bloodline in charge, but she was barren. During the next election while she laid bed ridden, the son of her jealous brother led a nefarious campaign to seize power for themselves. They pretended to be as noble as their predecessors but as soon as he was elected into power his greedy intent shone through. The nephew immediately killed all of the former leaders staff and inserted his own men in a bid for control, quickly changing what was once a proud democracy into a corrupt monarchy.

Under the new kings rule he led an oppressive regime, caring not for the people if it meant more wealth for himself, and burning down entire cities that did not comply. Ultimately this led to a revolution by the Exignis Empire, resulting in a loss of a lot of their territory.

Color on map: Red
Form of government: Emperor
Significant Figures:
  • Titus
  • The 1312 Knights
Strengths:
  • has the most brontea core users of any nation
  • has a large and well equipped military
  • low crime rates
  • good natural resources
Weaknesses:
- nation is the newest and as such still in the developing phase
Bio: If you want to join a powerhouse look no further. The Exignis empire arose from the ashes as a child known as Titus watched the mad king of Forentvilles burn his hometown to the ground, forming an unbreakable resolve with his brontea core with a desire to conquer all. Since then Titus has sparked a revolution, recruiting other powerful individuals and conquering over half of Forentville’s former territory as well as three other factions (including an island faction that he quite literally sunk). Despite lower initial military strength, Titus’s tactical genius, incredible individual strength, and pure brutality have led this nation’s ascension to conquer all in his path.

Color on map: blue
Form of government: Oligarchy. The only nation without a leader bearing a Brontea core. The leaders of the country are the five inventors who created amazing applications for tontrium
Significant Figures:
  • head of weapons development
  • head of weather development
  • head of computer development
  • head of transportation development
  • head of medical development
  • army general (strategizes robotic weapon deployment)
  • the lightning lieutenant "Zeus" (one of the only people in the country with a Brontea core, leads an elite tech enhanced group of soldiers)
Strengths:
  • most technologically advanced nation
  • incredible defense system
  • army of robots and technology aided humans (ROBOT SAMURAI AND TECH NINJAS!!!)
  • only nation still capable of mining in outer space, thus has the most inorganic resources
Weaknesses:
  • they are lacking in organic resources
  • don’t have as many power house characters as other countries (less top heavy)
  • low human population
Bio: Made in the remains of eastern Asian civilizations, Binazuma held tight to a lot of their ancestors values and give honor and intelligence the utmost importance. They are the most committed to returning the world to the state of “Utopia” from before the meteor; however, they seem to be content with their space so long as other nations don’t try to invade

Color on map: Orange
Form of government: An empress is chosen in a series of coliseum fights
Significant Figures:
- the empress
Strengths:
  • Physically the most gifted fighters
  • dangerous jungle terrain acts as natural defense system
  • army of weapon masters
  • low male population
  • best natural resources
Weaknesses:
  • dangerous wildlife
  • low number of soldiers
  • low male population
  • somewhat lacking in technology due to environment
Bio: Strength is the priority here and the empress is determined in a biannual competition amongst their finest warriors. Selva holds some of the best preserved wildlife after the meteor struck, Selva still holds its natural beauty of the pre-apocalypse days; however, much like the small tribe of women who dare to make this nation their home, the beauty of the nature comes with ferocious strength.

Mutated by the energy released from Tontrium, both the plants and animals have evolved to become more fit for survival. Travel down below the capital city’s dwelling at the tree tops without a Selvian guide and the chance of returning alive is close to none. It is for this reason that foreign nations rarely dare to attack, they second they march into Selvian territory they are gobbled up by the living nature. The Selvians are the only ones who have conquered this land and they are happy to keep it that way

Color on map: Light Green
Form of government: Diarchy (Two Leaders)
Significant Figures: the Royal Twins
Strengths:
  • very peaceful and safe
  • the two leaders are pretty strong
  • highly educated on the origins of brontea (if you pick this faction I’ll tell you the whole lore)
  • has enough resources to be self sufficient
Weaknesses:
  • little to no military
  • surrounded by enemy countries
  • very limited technology
Bio: one of the weakest of the countries, Munte has survived solely due to the mountain range surrounding it and the lack of desire from other countries to take it over. Simply put, they’re a non threat in an unideal area so nobody really cares about their existence. Their immense value lies in their secret knowledge of the origins of brontea, allowing them to guide a chosen few to unlocking great power

Color on map: light blue
Form of government: none
Significant Figures: the lady of the blue flame
Strengths:
- nobody cares about attacking it
Weaknesses:
  • no central government
  • lots of criminals
  • lack of technology
  • lack of natural resources
Bio: the remains of Antarctica that persevere as a lawless land of nomadic tribes. It is the most undesirable of the factions and many people and criminals flee here to escape war of punishment. The closest thing they have to a settlement is led by the lady of the blue flames, who, blessed with her brontea powers of fire, runs a small settlement where her people are sheltered from the cold

you're welcome to submit multiple bios, either for main ocs or significant figures (though I will be handling the White Queen, Titus, Lighting Lieutenant, and Zero)

Here's my own bio!
Name: Bion Genesis (Goes by “Gen”)
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Desire: To create life
Faction: Makuini (born in Ramilahr)
Rank/social standing: scout (lowest rank of the Vanguard)
Appearance: Due to being malnourished as a child, Gen never physically developed as much as he should have. He stands at just 5’7 and is very scrawny with thin, paper white skin. His long dark-teal hair spikes upward with a few strands casting a shadow over his face. Contrary to his rigid jawline and sharp nose, Gen has large round Jade-green eyes.

His standard outfit consists of a steel blue vest over a white long sleeve shirt, navy blue tactical pants, and brown combat boots
Personality: Having lost all those close to him, Gen tries his hardest to isolate himself from others in order to prevent future pain. This causes him to often come off as a bit of a jackass, saying rude things with the sole purpose of pushing people away from him because the sad truth is he’s too desperate to cleanse his loneliness that he could never leave them on his own. His tough projection falters in common displays of his clumsiness and his adoration for all things cute, and even though he would never admit it he’d do anything to protect the people of Makuini he is so grateful for.
Tech: a standard earpiece that allows for communication with other members of the vanguard

Before his birth, Bion’s mother was raised in poverty in an underground bunker civilization beneath the sands of Ramilahr. Blessed with nothing but a pretty face, she had no choice but to work in a brothel from a young age, and soon she was known throughout the colony as the beauty of the desert, so much so that rumors of her services spread to the royal capital above where she would frequently be summoned for work as a mistress to the pharaoh at the time. During this period of her life, she would go onto give birth to 3 children: Baal, the eldest and the bastard son of the pharaoh; Bion, the middle child to a thug who raped her; and Belle, the youngest and the daughter to the man she loved who helped pull her out of the brothel and start a new life.

Life was hard for the impoverished family. The mother and children were never able to go to the surface out of fear of what the pharaoh might do if he found out she had a child, so they depended on the limited resources her new husband could bring back doing grunt work for various crime rings. One day, when he could not bare to carry out an execution attack on a young family that reminded him of his own and instead opted to attempt to steal from a marketplace in the capital, he was caught by a high priest and sent to prison. While imprisoned, a picture of his wife and children was found in one of his pockets. The high priest immediately recognized the woman as his majesty’s former mistress as well as the striking resemblance between the pharaoh and Baal. Putting two and two together, the husband was immediately put to death and the priest sent for the capture of the mother and child.

After hearing news of this, the mother was faced with an impossible decision. She knew they could not run from the government, and without her husband it would be impossible to support the four of them. Her only option was to turn herself and Baal in, hoping to give Bion and Belle a chance at life. In a heart wrenching display of sacrifice, the mother and eldest child left the bunker for the first time in 14 years to be captured by the military.

Despite the sacrifice, Bion and Belle were hardly able to make it by. They attempted to work odd jobs in exchange for scraps of food, but even with Bion donating the majority of his share to Belle she was barely able to survive. Things reached a new level of desperation when Belle fell sick. Bion knew scraps wouldn’t be enough to feed her, so after collecting rations to last Belle for a week, Bion ventured to the surface in hopes of finding food. For days he wandered through seemingly endless sands, suffering from severe dehydration but somehow he found his way to an oasis settlement through what could only be explained as an internal compass guiding him there. The search, however, was ultimately fruitless as the residents of the settlement were unwilling to sell their limited food for the little amount Bion had to offer. With no other option, he pitifully attempted to take the food by force and as a result was beaten to the brink of death and thrown into the spring. As water filled his longs, Bion was unable to even enjoy the relief death would provide him, instead he was filled with regret thinking of how he failed his sister and family. But as he sank to the bottom of the pool, a shimmering white orb floated out in front of him. Delirious, the boy thought it was his spirit floating away from him and grabbed it with both arms in a last ditch attempt to stay alive. The orb disappeared in his grasp, flowing into his body and giving a powerful surge of energy with it.

With newfound strength, Bion swam to the surface and found two Jade rings imbedded into the backs of his hands. A voice echoed in his head, asking what he desired, and his response was simply “to create life.” The rings shimmered and vines shot out of his hands, sprouting grapes in limitless tendrils. Bion had no idea how it happened, but it was far from him to question such a blessing. For the first time in his life he tasted fresh fruit, and eager to share with Belle he made his way back home. Unfortunately, upon arriving at their small bunker, Bion was greeted with the horrific sight of his sisters corpse. The illness had been much worse than he thought and during his travels she died sick and alone.

The experience traumatized Bion and he would not leave that room for three years, simply suffering in isolation after his last family member passed and barely subsisting himself using his new powers. It was only after being rescued by a man named Zero that he would emerge again, arriving in Makuini where he decided to go by his family name “Genesis” to honor his deceased relatives. Gen trained for 4 years to join their Vanguard with the intention of never letting death befall another thing he cared about
Brontea Bio
Appearance:
A jade ring on the back of each hand
Category: manifestation
Ability: to create plant life. It relates to his backstory as it allows the opportunity to create food to sustain life, which was a cause of struggle and death during his childhood. Additionally, it’s symbolic of him starting underground and growing up to the surface
Evolution: none yet

Who are we? PEOPLE WHO DONT HAVE TIME FOR RPS!
What are we doing? JOINING RPS

here we go folx, wrote it on google docs and formatted for discord and I’m too lazy to fix the spacing or asterisks have fun

Name: Faven Kyhiro

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Desire: “I want to stand out so I don’t get walked all over by people who think they’re better than me.”

Faction: Forentvilles (pink)

Rank/social standing: Fairly unimportant in the government system, holds no political power. Hid her power from the military recruiters, so they passed her over. If anything, wants to escape her faction.

Appearance: Medium blonde hair, generally secured in a low, loose braid. Reaches to her lower back when untied, with slight waves. Eyes of a deep, rich brown flecked with gold framed by long, dark lashes. Approximately 5’4” with an athletic, relatively curvy frame. Her facial structure is finely angular, delicate in a striking way. Usually wears loose-fitting cargo pants and a long-sleeved turtleneck, and a violin case across her back, bow tucked into her belt. While fairly attractive, Faven would not stand out in a crowd much more than the average girl, if it weren’t for the slight glow always present around her.

Personality: Optimistic to a fault and quite extroverted, Faven is a curious and inquisitive social butterfly. Hyperactive and hard to keep the attention of, with slight ADHD. Constantly being belittled by older, bolder individualists caused her to develop a bit of an inferiority complex which she attempted to quell through performing. In the harsh border towns of Forentvilles, though, performers weren’t exactly well-received; not like the intellectuals or mechanics, anyway. She wanted to stand out from the others, and stop just going along with whatever badmouthing or cruel treatment she was given, forming her core desire.

Tech: A hologram-projecting watch that functions as today’s smartphones do. Her right shoulder joint is also reinforced with metal that covers the right side of her upper back, and creeps up her neck and lower jaw.

Does a violin count as tech….?

Backstory: Faven lived in a small, impoverished border town on the outskirts of Forentvilles, near the neighboring Ramilahr, with both parents and her older brother, Issac. They lived in a fairly small house, but they got by— her brother was good with his hands, constructing his own ragtag workshop off the side of the house and fixing whatever structural problems he could that the house had. Her mother was a skilled healer, and her father, a violinist. He taught Faven everything he knew about the instrument from a young age, eventually passing his violin on to her as a gift. The area was rich with crime and criminals, teeming with mutated scavengers and detritivores, but a few decent people managed to get by— though they were all toughened by the environment. It wasn’t a pretty existence, but it was adequate.

One night, though, when the two children were only about nine and twelve, a nearby fire grew out of control, and Faven’s home caught fire. The flames greedily swallowed up the small house, filling the tight halls with smoke and burning walls to ashes. Issac, in his workshop in the back, was able to get clear without incident, and froze in terror in front of the burning building. But a younger Faven, nearly out of the fire, turned back to retrieve her father’s violin, diving back into the blaze.

When the fire finally died down, the buildings that had been caught in it had been burnt to ashes, whatever remained collapsed. Faven was laying unconscious in the rubble, glowing slightly. One arm was wrapped protectively around the violin, hand clutching the bow; the other arm was wrenched at an impossible angle and burned raw. Their parents’ bodies were barely recognizable, dead.

Young Issac snapped out of his frozen horror and grabbed his sister and the one thing she had managed to save, running uncontrollably through the streets, crying for help. People looked away as he passed by, ignoring him completely or spearing him with a disgusted or pitying look. Finally, he collapsed on a step in front of a building with shuttered windows and a sign reading “CLOSED” on the door. Ignoring it, or perhaps not seeing it, the boy pounded on the door anyway, voice thick with snot and tears, face smudged with soot. Faven’s head lolled to one side in his arms, violin and bow strewn on the steps.

After about a minute of arrhythmic pounding, the door opened and the boy fell forward into the room, still sobbing. There was a young-sounding gasp, a sound of wheels creaking, and then the two were dragged inside, the violin and bow picked up as an afterthought, and the door slammed behind them.

When Issac came to, it was to the very close-up view of an elderly woman’s craggy face with one intelligent blue eye… and a mechanical one. He yelled and jerked in surprise, nearly spilling the soup she was holding all over himself. The second thing out of his mouth was a hoarse, “where’s my sister?” He struggled to sit up against the very firm foot planted against his chest.

“You better stay down, sonny, or I’ll knock you right back out again,” the old woman said gruffly. “The young lady you dragged here is gonna be just fine. Frankie’s working on fixing her up now.”

“What, are you… are you doctors?” Issac asked, bewildered. “Frankie?”

“My grandson,” the old woman grumbled. Then she cracked a wild grin. “And no, we ain’t doctors— we’re mechanics! Eh, don’t wet yourself, kid, he’s just making her a new shoulder socket. Nothing drastic or nothin’. Any idea why she’s glowing, though? Can't seem to figure that one out.”

“*What?*” Issac immediately started trying to get up again, fruitlessly struggling against the old woman’s strange strength. Then he went still with a harsh sound of impact.

The old woman cracked her knuckles disapprovingly. “I told ya I’d knock ya out,” she muttered. “Granny don’t joke around.”

——

When Faven came to, several days later, it was a different story. Her arm burned with a buzzing pain, but nothing like when her shoulder hat first shattered. As her vision came back into focus, she could see muted sunlight shining through slats in the shutters, illuminating dust particles floating in the air. The surface she was lying on was cold and hard. Three concerned faces she didn’t recognize hovered above her, then they all broke into animated expressions at once.

“Faven!”

“I *told* you I could do it, Granny!”

“You didn’t know it would work?!”

Faven tried to sit up. The burning sensation in her right arm intensified, and a creaking sound accompanied the stiff motion. “Is it… supposed to make that sound?”

——

Weeks passed, and the siblings remained with the old woman and her grandson. Both grieved for a while, but eventually had to move on, as all must after loved ones have passed. Wheelchair-bound Frankie taught Issac how the system worked, and together the two kept it running, with Granny supervising. Faven performed on street corners, buying spare parts whenever she had the money and searching fervently for metal scraps whenever she had the time. Sometimes supply runs took the siblings into dangerous or unfamiliar parts of town, and they’d have to be ready to run at any provocation. All the while, Faven trained her newfound power in secret to use in performances as an added artistic effect.

Months later, Issac walked in on his sister practicing her control over her glow for the first time. Hurt that she’d kept it from him and jealous once he found out where the power came from, he left to seek out a Brontea core of his own, hungry for power he felt he lacked.

Faven misses her brother, but years have dulled the pain. She and Frankie still work hard to keep the mechanic’s shop in business, supplying maintenance to people with prosthetics and creating more advanced tech with the limited materials they have. Faven runs for supplies and Frankie builds, with Granny’s (who refuses to retire) guidance. She still performs whenever she can, and hopes for the day when she no longer needs to skulk in the shadows of the slums, and can stand out without fear for her life, urged on by the stone in her chest.

Brontea Bio

Appearance: Appears as a white fire opal, about the size of a thumb’s nail, shining in shades of red, orange, and green inside the pearly color. Manifested at the deepest point of Faven’s sternum.

Desire: “I want to stand out so I don’t get walked all over by people who think they’re better than me.”

Category: Extension

Ability: Glow - the user always emits a slight glow of warm white light. The light’s intensity can be altered over a large scale without affecting the user very much, but cannot be extended very far beyond the user’s body. The light can be focused more in certain areas and the shape of the glow slightly altered, but remains near the user’s body at all times. Brightness fluctuates with strong emotions or at the will of the user.

  • Relation to the desire: Draws attention to the user, making them difficult to ignore, and causing them to stand out as desired. Difficult to push over or hurt someone who is capable of blinding you with a flash.

Obtained by: As the house collapsed around her, Faven clutched the violin case tightly and curled into a ball. She scratched at the dirt beneath her in a futile attempt to hide from the brutal heat of the flames on all sides. A hot metal beam crashed down on her shoulder, and she screamed in agony as bone scraped the socket, and hundreds of hairline fractures formed and slid out of place. She blacked out for a moment, fading in and out of consciousness as she curled tighter into herself.

The hand still clawing at the dust beneath her clenched into a fist against the pain, revealing a thin, glittering layer of silver, metallic substance. Tontrium, not that she knew it. A vein of milky liquid slid through the metallic layer, reaching her desperately grasping fingers and sliding up into her veins. Then, a sudden white-hot flash of light from the small white stone now embedded in Faven’s chest, and everything faded to black.

Evolution: ***”Laser” and onward not obtained yet*** *Glow* -> *Laser*: The light can now be focused into a high intensity beam capable of slicing steel like a hot knife through butter. This beam can be emitted from any one or two body parts at a time, with enough concentration. When remaining a glow, can also change temperature, capable of becoming a heat shield -> *Spotlight*: Light beams can now be controlled to a greater degree, capable of becoming nearly solid and lifting the user up as though they were flying. The user also attracts sunlight to heal faster, sometimes appearing to have a spotlight on them.

here we go folx, wrote it on google docs and formatted for discord and I’m too lazy to fix the spacing or asterisks have fun

Previously Deathstalker62
Name: Zeryth Ythilmore (pronounced Sir-riff Yfil-more)

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Desire: " I wish to get revenge on those who have wronged me through revealing the monsters and terrors they hide within themselves. "

Faction: Born in Selva, fled to Florentvilles

Rank/social standing: Outcast/Hermit

Appearance: Zeryth is of a caucasian complexion with a semi-muscular stature and grass-green eyes, standing at a height of 6" straight. Since his freedom, he has had no opportunity to shave any hair off of his body, so he's forced to wear a long, bushy beard matching with his messy, uncombed black hair which had grown down past his shoulders, yet still managed to keep its natural parted look, keeping Zeryth's face revealed despite its length. Thanks to his own past, he's got various scars all over his body, most of which have been hidden with a robe, shirt, pants and shoes made from various animal skins, pelts and wood. Zeryth crafted his own clothing, seeing as he neither has the money to afford it nor the will to just waltz into one of the towns and get some other clothes. While he does have some variety, he usually wears the same sets of clothes - a cloak made out of bear fur (with the head of the bear turned into a hood), a shirt made out of wolf pelt, pants made out of more bear fur (with a rope tied around his waist in place of a belt) and wooden sandals for shoewear.

Personality: Zeryth is a rather quiet kind of guy, typically used to getting physically and verbally punished for speaking up at all if he wasn't being directly talked to. He also tends to avoid people, as his time in Selva was.. less than pleasant, to say the least. He's got a hardened shell that is tough to crack, making him act cold and hostile to strangers ever since he acquired his Brontea Core. However, if someone does manage to crack him, they'll discover there's still humanity left within in the form of a kind, calm heart.

Tech: Does a primitive stone spear count as technology?

Backstory:
Zeryth lived a life of misery and pain. Being one of the only male members in a tribe of women was awful, to say the least. Daily, he'd be ridiculed, ordered around and generally be treated as if he were inferior, being beaten and insulted regardless if he followed orders or not. The five other guys within the tribe couldn't help him either, as they were treated much the same. No right was given to Zeryth - a stone mattress to sleep on with no blanket, a bare minimum of food and water and 10 minutes in the local lake was his daily morning routine before another 16 hours of physically and mentally straining himself, acting a butler to everyone else, his only reward being more pain. Eventually, Zeryth tried to flee the village, but was caught and beaten to near death by the guards before being dragged back and thrown into an undersized cage. Then, he was transferred into the local prison (luckily, one that he was alone in due to the small size of the tribe) under the death sentence. After long, painful hours of mining resources under the watchful eye of the prison guards, he was beaten and left bruised and bloodied in the mud as the laughing guards got their kicks out of seeing him writhe in agony and left him on the ground to recover for tomorrow's routine to repeat. It was in the moment that he was left alone that his key to freedom was finally making itself clear to him. (Backstory continued in Brontea Bio)

Appearance: Zeryth's brontea core takes place as a third crystal eye in the center of his forehead, dark-purple in colour. While active, the core lights up in an ominious light-purple flame that appears to burn the whole eye, but deals no actual harm to neither it nor Zeryth.

Category: Manifestation

Ability: Zeryth is able to manifest creatures forged from the deepest, darkest memories and experiences of those around him, along with being able to command them. Typically, these creatures heavily resemble beings from those memories, but distorted in an uncanny or otherwise horrific way.

How they found it: Something called out to Zeryth, an intuition of sorts, to grab his pickaxe and mine a spot on the many rocks a couple times. Though he was battered and exhausted, he trusted what felt like a gut instinct and hacked away, getting only three strikes in before collapsing. After he woke up, he found himself still in the courtyard of the prison - strangely enough. The guards were nowhere to be seen, but Zeryth felt.. different. Some pulsating pain on his forehead, like he'd never felt before. Upon reaching up with his fingers and grazing across, he could feel the crystallic formation on his head. Before he could head back inside, the guards came into the courtyard, two additional guards in tow. With their weapons pointed at him, they threatened that he come with or be killed. Panicked, Zeryth's ability activated and summoned mutated monsters from all the guard' worst nightmares - from simple giant insect amalgamations and shadow creatures to zombified version of loved ones and, to Zeryth's disdain, a man clad in heavy armour with hammer just as great as his armour. Safe to say, Zeryth managed to make his way out of the prison, his shackles and the village using these newfound guardians of his. Using what knowledge he had of the Selva region, he maneuvered the mighty overgrown jungles and overcame many dangers to come out at the borders of Florentvilles, deciding to settle there instead, remaining as a hermit in a self-built wooden shack stood on a lonesome hill, having adapted several survival skills throughout the process such as sheep herding, farming and fishing with a spear. Occasionally, he goes people-watching by watching those living along the border with him, staying hidden from sight and keeping a safe distance.

Evolution:
Adaption (Not yet required, will definitely take a lot of time and effort to achieve this.)
" If only they could learn from their past given forms, not die by their hands. "

Allows Zeryth to manifest a clone of a being with an opposite personality. Zeryth then allows the owner of that clone to make a decision: To embrace who they are, merging with the clone and forcing them to move on from their past, becoming a better person. Or, to simply fight their clone, which, if they succeed to kill it, will cause that clone's personality aspects to fade from their own mind, making the owner's original self become true. If they fail and the clone 'kills them', the clone merges with the real body, keeping the owner alive but replacing their original personality with that of the clone's.

Adaption (Also not yet acquired, will likely be the first to get, though)
" If I could just understand better what a monster makes.. "
Allows Zeryth to read the memories of someone he has prolonged physical contact with, such as by grabbing their arm. While reading memories, both targets are put into state of trance. The affected target can kick him out of their mind if they have enough willpower to do so, and a third party can separate the connection to prevent further memory reading from ocurring.

Oooo very interesting power, I like it!!! Accepted

What’s up with you guys picking the most hateable faction though? XD

Hmmm, I'm thinking of a character, but as for tech, I was thinking on either giving him a special weapon that could change between two kinds or some kind of cool hi tech vehicle. Am I only allowed to pick one or the other or does one of them not count as tech in his arsenal?

You can have both, just make sure it makes sense with the character’s faction and everything. If you want a lot of tech and a good brontea core you should probably be based in Binazuma.

Did all the people who were not banished underground just flat out die or did some from the 'old' world survive?
Everyone on the surface at that time died, but that was 300 years ago so every oc will have been able to have spent their whole life on the surface if that’s what you want.

Woof! That took longer than I thought, hopefully it's acceptable.

Drawn by the wonderful @IDKWhatUserNameToDo
Personality: Despite coming from a very wealthy family, Arvish has always been seen as very laid back and informal, finding manners and formality to be suffocating because he has to act in a way that he doesn't want. He greatly enjoys the sense of freedom and the benefits of power, but it's not just having the power that he enjoys, but it was more in earning it, a love for the sense of accomplishment rather than it being given to him on a silver platter. Thanks to the many battles he had, he displays a more cruel manner, looking as though he cares little for the lives around him, although that proves to not be the case as he does show kindness at times and has his own sense of honor; Granting the weak a chance to train and become strong or respecting those around his level of skill.
Tech: He mainly carries a special technical sword that's capable of changing to a gun if need be. On one of his wrists, he has a special technical ring that projects a hologram of whomever calls him or a holographic computer. He rides around the country on a custom made and highly modified motorcycle.
Arvish was born in Binazuma within a very wealthy family with a successful space mining business. Throughout Arvish's childhood, his mother enjoyed spoiling him and his older siblings with many gifts while his father only wanted them to be groomed and join him in their family business, his older sister--the eldest of his siblings--developed a rather spoiled attitude from all the gifts she got as a child, his older brother grew up wishing for nothing more than to be like his father, Arvish on the other hand didn't seem to care much for either, wishing to see the outside world, but neither of his parents would let him.

This began to spark a rebellious side in Arvish, showing more and more informality and indifference towards his family, often at times, he tended to sneak out of the house to see what the town had to offer, fascinated by it's technologies and how it made life more convenient for those living within it. His father was furious with Arvish's behavior and threatened to have his son remain in his room until his 18th birthday if he kept on neglecting his wishes. Arvish reluctantly obeyed and went back to studying with his siblings, the main thing he was interested in was combat training, his parents hired a seasoned fighter who trained the siblings every week, Arvish showed more promise in combat than with his other studies.

One day, their mentor showed the three siblings a special sword, one of a unique design and was capable of housing and firing gun shells. The siblings were completely awestruck and wanted to hold the weapon, but their mentor denied them the privilege and told them "I will reward this weapon to the one who proves to be the strongest." This sparked an intense sense of determination from Arvish who seemed to push himself even harder with training just as it did with his older siblings, when the day finally came for them to compete for the weapon, Arvish proved stronger, easily defeating his sister and nearly knocking out his brother, by the end, their mentor was amazed and gifted Arvish the very thing that would change him forever.

Ever since he received the sword from his mentor, he became more and more indifferent to any other things he was given, even his mother's gifts. Even while he had such an amazing weapon, he hand very little to test it out on other than the training dummies... that all got destroyed after a few blows, the boredom slowly overwhelmed Arvish and he was determined to find some excitement however he could which lead him to do the one thing he thought he wouldn't do again; he sneaked out of the house and wandered around, careful to keep his sword hidden until he spotted to strange men in an alleyway, one of which seemed to have a case with them.

Arvish was tempted to go over and step forward and see what they were doing, yet at the same time, he felt himself being held back by doubt, before he could make a decision, the two shady men noticed Arvish and quickly captured him to keep him quiet. Arvish found himself in an abandoned house at the edge of town, sat in a chair with his hands tied up, the two men already knew exactly who he was and planned to ransom him back t his family, on the table nearby was the same case one of the men held, but it was open and seemed to house something Arvish had only read about: A Brontea core. One of the men got a hold on Arvish's sword, Arvish furiously tried to break free from his binds, but to no avail and only ended up getting hit by the other man, Arvish barely reacted to the hit and pulled against his restraints even more, hurting his hands in the process.

Despite the pain, Arvish kept on struggling, he hated the idea of being caught and sold, but hated the idea on someone taking the one thing he earned even more, his struggling got so intense that the shady men began to get worried, deciding it would be best to knock him out, Arvish used this chance and moved his bound hands to the blow, hoping that it was enough to break them, and it was. When he broke free, the shady figure told the other guy to use the core, but Arvish dashed straight for it and grabbed it before the other shady guy could, expressing his innermost desire as he did. The Brontea core was absorbed in to his hand and suddenly Arvish felt a great power course through him, his eyes began to glow as he dashed for the sword faster than the eye could see, before the shady figures realized what happened, they already had their throats slit, the last thing they saw was a strange purple light dash right past them.

After the incident with being ransomed, Arvish returned home to find his family waiting at the front door with looks of anger, relief and fear all mixed together, his father showing more of the first one, he slapped his son and furiously shouted at him for not only leaving the house and disobeying him, but getting himself involved with bad people and even murdering them, Arvish was surprisingly indifferent to the whole moment and blamed his father for keeping him "locked in a comfortable prison." His father decided to give him a choice: He stay and remain a part of the family where he could enjoy the peaceful and luxurious life many people dreamed of, or he leave and understand just how dangerous and unforgiving the world really was.

Arvish ended up choosing the latter was was given one last give from his mother: A motorcycle to make his travelling a lot easier, after a hug and farewell from his mother and siblings, he and his father merely exchanged a silent and cold glare before Arvish drove off to see the outside world for himself. Arvish adapted pretty quickly thanks to his training and took on a few jobs to make money, most jobs were either to guard trading caravans going to and from different lands or aiding with hunting the dangerous wildlife, the latter proved to be more of an entertaining experience and took up hunting wanted criminals, becoming a feared and respected man in the process.

He has short and smooth chocolate brown hair and royal purple eyes, his facial features are sharp facial features that have often earned a few compliments. His attire consists of a black shirt under a very dark purple hooded jacket with the hood always up and jet black pants, above that is an ankle long black overcoat with a high collar and gold trimmings along the edges. He has black gloves and boots of a similar design to the coat with gold colored metal plating and reaches up to his elbows and knees.

Brontea Bio
Appearance
: His Brontea core takes on the form of a violet diamond in the middle of his upper chest which glows when his ability activates.
Category: Internalization
Ability: His body becomes much stronger, capable of delivering powerful blows which derives from half of his desire to be an extremely strong man while his desire for freedom converted into the ability to move and incredible speed for a short time with little to no resistance.
How they found it: Two shady men were planning to sell the Brontea core, but when Arvish found out, they had a change of plans and tried to ransom him back to his family, Arvish managed to break free of his binds and stole the core to use for himself.
Evolution: Most likely Affirmation which may happen sometime in the RP.
You need to change the desire and brontea ability. Right now the desire includes 4 things: being feared, respected, strong, and free, which would mean he has undergone 4 adaptations. This is also reflected in your brontea bio which is giving him super strength and super speed. Those are both reasonable powers that could be unlocked through adaptation, but for starters you only get one.

Can the cores cause physical/permanent mutations? Like more animalistic characteristics, whether that be claws, fur, tails, wings, etc. If not then I'll adjust accordingly.
An internalization one could. Honestly it’s pretty much up to your preference, you could have a character always showing the changes or a character who can just make them appear when needed

Alright, I've toned it down to his desire being freedom and his power being speed, I hope this is more suitable.

What if our character doesn't conform to those four desires? They are pretty basic and broad.
Oh it doesn’t need to be one of those four, I was just saying gallade had 4 desires listed which isn’t alright. You’re free to have any one major desire.

It’s not that your character can’t desire multiple things, it’s just that the power only reflects the greatest one so for the sake of bios you should only include that

Great, he’s accepted now. I would recommend upping his age if you wanna justify having combat experience and building a rep… I doubt many leaders would trust a 17 year old with important tasks. He should either be just starting as a mercenary (in which case he would be skeptically met by many factions), or have more years of experience to gain credibility

Also, as a fugitive with Binazuma tech he’s probably wanted by them

This was rushed a bit so I hope this is okay. I didn't really understand why there's these two systems in place tbh so I wasn't sure what to put for them. This may change if I decide to write more:

Name: Rai Ikazuchi
Age: 38
Gender: Male
Desire: To maintain his power, to protect his nation, research certain fields etc.
Faction: Binazuma
Rank/social standing: The Lightning Lieutenant
Appearance: Asian skin, Japanese build. Black hair with a bright highlight in the middle which is silvery. The light from the centre goes down his face, creating a bright golden scar slashing down. He looks young for his age, having managed to treat some of the signs of his age. He is muscular but not as much as many people, tending to compensate for being taller.
Personality: He's very quick to do things and often will hide things from his superiors so that he can see to it himself. He believes himself to be some sort of enforcer for the above levels. Historically though, he has made quite a noise with some incidents that have led to a scalding by the aboves. He is very interested in science specifically in his fields of electricity but often sidelines it when he has a task to do. He definitely has some ambition to be promoted and lead his country into battle one day but he mostly wants to just get the job done.
Tech: A large samurai-style sword that has modern tech. One such ability is for it to be covered in electricity. He has several stun guns and a larger rifle which fires electricity more rapidly. He has white and yellow armour, which disguish him from others in the army. The armour is very special in that it is immune to electricity. His helmet appears to look like that of a motorbikers but is very protective and allows him to see through different lenses, X-Ray, heat-seeking etc. He also has prototype rocket-boots but they're still being developed.
Backstory: Rai's family was a Japanese one originally and came from a disguished family that perished during the 2817 space tontrium catastrophe. They were scientific elites who were not banished. However, it turned out one of them had in fact been banished. They passed down a piece of Brontea that eventually was given to Rai. Rai didn't think much of it as it didn't seem to activate at much and was quite small, so he hid it from society, as he joined the Binazuma army. Rai was originally offered the position of Head of Weapons Manufacture and was good at the job, but fell out when his Brontea core was discovered. He was looked down upon as one of the leaders did not like Brontea cores and wanted society to return back to the way it was. He gradually built back up his friendship with Rai as Rai proved a decisive soldier in the battle. Rai had a brief vacation, visiting the other factions, partially spying to see what was going on, preparing for an eventual war which also became a secondary role which Binazuma established. Rai visited Monte and Makuini, which contained mountainous climates, his more ideal climate. On both visits to attempt to befriend and spy on their leaders, Rai was struck by lightning. Rai was further struck down on his way back to Binazuna in the Exiginis Empire, spotted by troops who slashed him down and left him for dead. He survived though and escaped home. He discovered a mountain range within Binazuma's borders and climbed it, only to get struck by lightning once again. This time, he looked down at his Brontea core and saw it was glowing yellow. He gained great powers from it. Rai was ofted to become the 'Lightning Lieutenant', a unique position which also involved having his own team of soldiers with similar abilities. Rai worked with the different Heads closely, especially the Head of Weapons, Head of Weather Development and the army General. He is now one of the most revered forces in Binazuma.

Brontea Bio
Appearance
:
A yellow, white and blue stone turned crystal
Category: Extension, though this may change.
Ability: The ability to use lightning energy manually, the ability to change the weather. I'm not too sure what to put here.
How they found it:
Included in backstory
Evolution: Most likely Affirmation but I'm really not sure how this system works.

Whilst I'm here, i'd like to claim the Army General to Binazuma please if i'm able to, since he'd probably have a good working relationship with Rai. I'll do his bio later as it's really late right now where I am. I would also want to wait a bit and see how this actually works. The explanations of 'desires', 'ability' and 'evolution' just seem to confuse me more right now so i'm just getting these ideas out here before somebody claims these two characters.

Alright, here's my character sheet. So far.
Name: Leona
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Desire: Strength as great as the beasts that call the forests of Selva home, Freedom like an eagle in flight
Faction: Formerly Selva(Orange), Enslaved in Ramilahr (Yellow), None
Rank/social standing: Runaway slave
Appearance:
Leona the Huntress screenshot.png

Original form
Stands at 6'5" tall. Irises are grey.
Leona screenshot.png

Current form
Except for her face, palms, soles, and the whole front of her torso, Leona is now covered in short but thick fur. Her height is still 6'5". Hair resembles a lion's mane and hides her core. Her irises are now yellow and her teeth are more akin to those of big cats. Nails are more like claws.
Personality: Leona is a curious but untrusting individual who is friendly to her allies and ruthless towards her enemies. She is also incredibly persistent and refuses to give up despite the odds against her. She will fight tooth and nail if she has to, but will avoid unnecessary conflict.
Tech: Primitive weaponry crafted with bones, leather, stones, and wood. Stuff like knives, shields, spears, and swords. She's also decent with a bow.
Backstory: Leona was born and raised in the Selva region, in a village that was close to the Ramilahr border. Her own training, overseen by her mother, began at five years old, starting with crafting weapons and learning not to be wasteful. When she eventually proved to her mother that she can craft useable weapons and tools from more natural materials, their sparring sessions began. Painful as each fight was, Leona displayed a stubborn desire to keep fighting despite her mother's apparent advantage over her. Sometimes, they would even go hunting to test herself against the beasts and plants that called the forests home. It was during one of these hunts that Leona's mother was severely injured and they had to retreat back to the village. Sadly, Leona's mother only lasted two more days before she passed.
Despite the many protests she had received, Leona vowed to slay the beast that killed her mother. Alone. She retraced her steps through the forest, to the clearing where she and her mother were attacked and began tracking it from there.
As soon as she caught sight of it, she launched her spear towards it and charged with her sword and shield at the ready. While the spear did manage to pierce the animal's hide, it was merely a flesh wound and was not fatal. Fueled by her desire for revenge, Leona attacked with little regard for her own safety. The fight lasted for three whole hours before the beast finally fell, succumbing to its multitude of wounds. Sadly, Leona's fury had not been quelled by victory and she viciously dismantled the corpse with little regard to her mother's past words of showing respect to her quarry. As she gutted the animal, she did feel a slight prick in the palm of her right hand but paid it no mind as she carried on. As time went on she stopped using her knives, resorting to using only her hands to rip it apart, not even realizing that she was changing.
By the time she realized what had been happening to her, she was already done. Her nails were now claws while her teeth grew into fangs, a lion's tail trailed behind her, and her entire body rippling with muscle and mostly covered in fur.
Upon finding a pool of water, her reflection revealed her ears to have become more cat-like and perched on top of her head while her eyes were now a yellow gold instead of grey. Fearing what may happen to her, should her tribe find her in this state, Leona ran for the border between Selva and Ramilahr, not knowing what to expect.
Day had turned to night by the time she reached the desert. To make a long story short, she was picked up by slave traders and sold to one of the high priests of Ramilahr as an exotic beast of sorts. Forced to endure this humiliation for months, one day spotting a bird flying freely. From this moment, she gained a new desire. A desire for freedom, like a bird in flight. This desire proved to be just as strong as her initial desire for strength and her Brontea Core adapted, causing her to grow perfectly functional avian wings. Needless to say, it was a rather painful process, growing new appendages. Not to mention the increase in her appetite to support these new structures. At least she gained the innate knowledge and strength to operate her wings as well. As soon as she recovered, she took to the sky and away from the city with no particular destination in mind.

Brontea Core
Appearance: Similar to a garnet, it's located on the nape of Leona's neck
Category: Internalization
Ability: Increase in strength and flight
How they found it: It was in the stomach of a predatory mutant animal she killed
Evolution: Adaptation

This is awkward but I said the lighting Lieutenant was one I was planning on making and he also happens to have an electricity extension ability (also posted his bio in the discord already but haven’t transferred it here), I liked the bio though so maybe we can try to figure something out

Name: Kuel Ferost.
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Desire:"I want to be tough!"
Faction: Tusaro
Rank/social standing: Thief Leader (Tundra Raiders)
Appearance: Kuel has maroon red hair that goes down to his jawline, and is messily combed back. Looks similar to a lion's mane. His eyes are slate gray. His skin pretty pale. He usually wears a confident smile. He's 5'10' ft. and relatively Relatively muscular and slightly thin.

Outfit: he wears a red and green checkered flannel shirt with a dark brown button up hunting vest with light brown leather on the shoulders. He wears black and white camo pants, long tactical tactical go up to his shins and have straps to keep them on tight. Long white socks underneath his shoes. Blue underwear that you probably didn't wanna know. He also wears a white leather bomber jacket with various pockets and dark gray fur around the collar. He wears a reddish-brown belt with his shotgun on his back. He carries his combat knife in his pocket nearest his ankle. He has a white ski mask that covers everything except his eyes in his pocket in one of his pocket in case he wants to cover most of his face.

Personality: Confident and outgoing on the outside. Oftentimes nervous and pessimistic on inside.
Tech: a modified hunting rifle with sturdy enough plating to double as a blunt weapon.

Does a large serrated hunting knife count as technology?
Backstory: Kuel grew up in a small impoverished family. His father was a hunter who brought meat home for the family. His mother raised Kuel and his younger brother. They didn't have much, but they got by. Kuel's father died in a hunting trip, giving his fellow hunters an opportunity to escape certain death. The hunters had gotten attacked by a large bear, and Kuel's father chose to give his friends time to run. The other hunters would prepare themselves and eventually take down the bear that killed him, but it was too late to save him. They did return his hunting rifle to his family. Kuel spent years modifying it and adding plating on it.

Kuel wasn't particularly special and always feared dying in a similar way that his father did, leaving him to be paranoid and pessimistic. Whenever he'd make plans he'd always have a back up or escape plan incase his initial plans failed miserably. Kuel had friends and managed to convince them to form a thief guild. The thief guild has had mild success within the course of 4 years. Though they weren't much compared to the more menacing criminals. What whatever food or money Kuel made, he made a habit of giving a portion of it to support his mother and younger brother so that they may still have food and drink.

One day Kuel and two of his fellow Tundra Raiders(Ross and Bryce) had been broke into an old house. abandoned house out in the middle of nowhere. The house was fairly large and was built onto the side of a moutain. Likely a place of mining operations. Though Kuel wasn't exactly sure what they would find. A lengthy tunnel made its way from the house and into the side of the mountain. Tunnels looked dangerous. Dust all about. Kuel and the others focused on the house itself. The three made theories and hypotheticals about what was actually down there. There was almost nothing in the house to take. Place was abandoned and nearly picked clean. Like thieves had already picked the place clean.

Kuel couldn't help but wonder if anything could be in the tunnel. At the very least, he'd see how far the tunnel goes. They walked a good distance down the tunnel. Kuel stopped leaving the other two raiders to continue on without him. He noticed a small side path that was buried under rubble. Lots of rocks big and small. Kuel attempted to pull a big rock, but it was pretty heavy, so he had to all his two friends to help. They eventually got back, and after a few minutes of attempting to pull the large rock, it rolled down the smaller rocks and out of the way. To their surprise, a bunch of cracked bones lay in the rubble and previously underneath the large boulder.

"Sucked to be him. I hope nothing like that happens to us" Kuel said to his two friends.

Ross insisted on heading down the safe passage, and Kuel was mostly in agreement but Bryce went on in when they weren't looking. The two eventually reached a large pit. Out of reach of the two and on the other side of the pit lied a dimly lit tunnel. What was over there? How deep was the pit, and how would they get to the other side? Kuel was going to ask his two friends but noticed the Bryce was missing. Kuel was extremely reluctant to go into the side tunnel. Bryce was a little more scared than Kuel and opted to stay back. Either go in and find him if he found Bryce or go back to their guild and get help if Kuel didn't come back in an hour.

So Kuel went in. The tunnel was pretty slim. You would have to walk into the tunnel one person at a time. As Kuel made his way into the tunnel he stepped over some boards which snapped. Crack! His leg fell into the hole and as he hit the ground a second board broke. crack! Kuel had fallen into a boarded up hole. The hole was pretty deep because Kuel couldn't see the bottom. It was even narrower than the tunnel, Kuel barely managed to avoid sliding further down as he held his arms and legs out as tight as he could to grip the walls. He ad grip of the walls, but he was struggling to try lift himself higher. Kuel called out for help several times, but nothing.

Dust continued to fall into the hole. Things weren't looking good. A rock hit Kuel in the head. Kuel pressed his elbows against the walls of the hole and angled the palm of his hand upwards. Tilting his head, the rock fell into his open palm. This was the closest thing to being valuable Kuel managed to see all day. Was this really all this cave had to offer? Was this the end?

Kuel heard someone calling him. It sounded familiar, but Kuel didn't pay it any attention, as he was too busy thinking about his dad. Thinking this is how it all ends. The voice got louder. Kuel knew this voice. It was Bryce's voice! Bryce hadn't gotten much farther into the tunnel than Kuel did, and heard Kuel call out for help and noticed the odd hole. Bryce reached in and managed to pull Kuel out. Kuel looked in his hand but he couldn't find his rock. Kuel coulda swore he didn't drop it. Bryce was pissed off that Kuel might have died and was looking for a random rock he found in the cave. So the two left the tunnel and eventually the place itself. Kuel didn't notice it until they got back to the guild, but he now had a gray jagged circle on the side of his forehead.

Are all the named roles characters that you have claimed?
Well there are the 4 I listed specifically that I need to have to help drive the plot: the queen of Makuini, Zero, Titus, and the Lightning Lieutenant. Other significant figures are open (I think Kyuu is planning on the queen of Selva).

Otherwise, I have concepts for all of them if nobody fills the roles but yeah they’re open.
