The New Pokécharms: Coming September 4th

Just a quick announcement to let everyone know that after seven months of work, we're finally ready to release the new Pokécharms into the wild. The process for this will start happening on Wednesday, September 4th, at 12:00pm BST.

At this point, the following will happen:
  1. The forums will be closed temporarily, although the Trainer Card Maker and most of the rest of the site will remain operational.
  2. The 'Charms staff will begin the process of importing all the data from the old Pokécharms into the new, and setting everything up for the live launch.
  3. Once all this is finished, we will close the whole site for a short amount of time to clean up, and move the new software into place.
  4. Once this is completed, the whole site will be opened once more, complete with all the new features and applications.
We're really excited about the new site, and we hope you join us then for the final run-up to Pokémon X and Y, where we'll be covering all the news and information on the new games as it is revealed.

Well this is a surprise. I didn't expect the relaunch to be so soon! I'm even more excited now! Thanks for all of your hard work this year Teapot. I'm sure everyone will appreciate the new look and function of the site. :)

By the way, when you say the whole site will be temporarily unavailable, does that include Chat or will that still be operational?

Chat is entirely separate, you can access it through a client at any time, regardless of any work on this server.
