Vast Poni Canyon
Its beautiful, rugged terrain is home to many Rock- and Dragon-Types, specifically the Jangmo-o line. However, something awry goes wrong as the Pokémon all began to stay away from the light of day, hiding deep underground and avoiding contact with those on the surface. A few days later, a strange energy signature began to emit from the depths of the trial site, causing locals to call upon authorities to find out what was going on. Following leads, Interpol sent a few agents to block off the area from the public and aid the local law enforcement in gathering evidence and information on the matter. That’s when the wild Pokémon leave the caves, their growth spiraling out of control as whatever the energy they were being exposed to made them not unlike the Totem Pokémon the locals revered, a similar aura radiating off them that buffed their battling capabilities and the sudden change has left them extremely volatile, violent, and aggressive, blurring the line of respected individual and foe. The trial where the normal Totem Kommo-o would meet trial-goers and battle them had been blocked off as the cave system changed due to the rapid growth rate of the wild Pokemon, blocking off sections of caverns and making it difficult to traverse, let alone dig through. Due to the agents and law enforcement dealing with Totem wild Pokémon near the entrance to Vast Poni Canyon and there are blockades to keep the dangerous Pokémon in the canyon, it is safe to say they can’t relax their guard to let someone through, even if they know someone within. They just have to hope that whoever is in there can make it out alive or figure out what is going on to stop this mess.
Will your characters find out what the cause of this phenomenon or will they die trying?
Now that the exposition is over, I’m going to let you all know that the phenomenon is not Ultra Wormhole related, but your characters may make that assumption in the RP. There are also no Ultra Beasts involved. It’s actually going to be two groups everybody thought were taken down years ago in Orre and Almia. A splinter faction from each group came together after meeting each other in Alola and the two groups pooled their resources together and became something else. I won’t say what they did, but you can probably guess now that I have spoiled a bit. (EDIT) This is to allow people some meta knowledge of who is behind this, but your characters will not know who is doing this, but each of your characters may have clues depending on their occupation or background. Any information I give to you in private is information I'm allowing your character to have some background knowledge on. This is for you as the player, not your characters. The group is extremely secretive and they haven’t had any coverage at all, so not even my character, who has connections, will know they exist.
(EDIT) I'll be having the characters meet up before all the shenanigans happen, so the characters may form relationship dynamics before we get thrown into the mix of things. :3 So, we'll be having our characters be between the Poni Plains and Ancient Poni Path.

Rules:
- Please no Teleport, and don’t have your character magically know everything. It will ruin the immersion of the RP. However, if your character has scientific equipment that can read energy levels, they may be able to see large energy readings coming from within the blocked off cave. What you do to get through the large rocks will be up to you, but that is no small feat by yourself. Please let me know what you are doing, so I can let you know if the rocks will be decreased in some way (since it is supposed to be extremely difficult to get in, especially by yourself).
- Please write at least 4-5 sentences. If you have trouble, ask me.
- This is primarily an action RP. There isn’t that much time for romance (please don’t pull the Walking Dead’s infamous “zombies are running at us and it’s going to be shit, but let’s make out”).
- I know this says it in the PRP Rules, but I’ll say it here. No Legendaries/Mythicals/Ultra Beasts. Megas have to be okayed by an admin, and if your character did the Alolan Trials, they may have the Z-Ring and some Z-Crystals for their troubles. Please make that clear in your character sheet.
- Because of the danger this RP will have, your characters should be between 16-24 years old. I just don’t find a 10-year-old viable to survive in this condition, no matter the kind of Pokémon they have on their team.
- This isn’t a rule, but your Pokémon may know 6-10 moves, and it can be from any generation it has a movelist. Any Level-Up, TM, HM, TR, Egg, Move Tutor, and Event moves are free game, but it has to make sense for your Pokémon’s battling style and make sense for how your Pokemon learn it (you can't have your Charizard know Blaze Kick unless you've been to Galar to get the TR for it and taught your Charizard that, or got the TR from vendors outside of Galar (usually expensive due to travel costs), or have a Blaziken take a week to teach your Charizard how to use Blaze Kick).

Name: Natalia Nakamura
Age: 30
Gender: Female
Hometown: Accumula Town, Unova
Trainer Class/Occupation: Ace Trainer, Interpol Agent
Appearance: Natalia is 5'06" (167.6 cm) and weighs 150 lbs (68.0 kg) of mixed lean muscle from casually working out on her journeys and extensive agent training. She's got short blonde hair with longer hair on the top so she can flip it over on the right or left. She used to have long hair but found shorter hair much easier to manage. She's also got light grey eyes. She usually wears a tank top in various colors, jean shorts, and black combat boots in hotter weather; a t-shirt of varying colors, a black jacket (for when it gets chilly or windy), jeans, and black combat boots in warmer weather; and a long-sleeved shirt of varying colors, heavy-duty jeans, and black winter boots in winter weather. She always has a brown backpack that's covered in floral pink and green flowers that holds all of her items. She also has a white and black checkered belt and has scars on her body from training her Pokemon and using her body to block hits. She has a scar running from the middle of her cheek down her neck from a Pokemon's Slash attack and a scar on her stomach from when she attempted to stop a Horn Drill. She has a Z-Power Ring from her time partaking the Alolan Trials about a decade earlier, and a Dynamax Band from when she attempted the Galar Gym Challenge.
Personality: Natalia is well known to be serious about Pokemon and battle, yet friendly enough when someone meets her. She can be pretty generous, but she usually asks for something in return for her help. She's patient enough, but sometimes becomes irritated when her help is taken for granted or when they are just using her. She is curious about people but prefers to do what she wants to do without getting sidetracked. She can be a cynic and a pessimist, usually using self-deprecation as funny humor to low-key get some pity and sympathy. She is secretly a pretty compassionate person but hides it with angry worry. She won't immediately help someone when they are in trouble but prefers to hold back and watch and see the situation before her before jumping in and doing something rash. She calculates if the person can do it themselves or if someone she cares about is in danger. She doesn't much care about herself, as she enjoys the pain inflicted upon her, but she understands that Pokemon attacks shouldn't be trifled with and does what she can to make sure everyone is alive at the end of it, but she will brush it off as "not wanting the death of someone on her conscience rather than actually caring for you". She understands the complexities of the world around her and, due to looking at the negatives so much, believes that only the negative side to some things exist. Also due to this, she finds it harder to trust people and will often mentally blame those who try to be friendly with her for trying to get on her good side.
Why they are in Vast Poni Canyon?: She was sent here to scout out why there were odd energy readings coming from Vast Poni Canyon when she got trapped within the canyon’s section, forced to go deeper into the area.
Backstory: Natalia was born in Accumula Town to a breeder and top coordinator in the Smart Contests in Sinnoh and Hoenn. However, she found the settled life they chose to be rather too quiet and boring. She first did so in Unova, getting the last badge before realizing that life had beckoned her to travel to another region. During these journeys, she went from curious and fun to cynical and serious. A piece of who she was before makes an appearance every once in awhile, but from all the horrible things she's seen, there is no hope to get back the innocence that was robbed from her. She's had her Pokemon taken away and some of them she never saw again. Due to this, she lost all sense of trust and respect in humanity, and the only people she could go back to were her parents and older brother. But she instead used these experiences to fight for justice, but in her own more brutal way. As she was making a name for herself in Johto, she had already collected all the badges from Unova, Hoenn, Kanto, Kalos, and Sinnoh, filled out her medallion in Galar, and got almost all the stamps in Alola, only stopping at Poni Island before she got bored and went off towards other things. After her triumph at Johto, she tried her hand at the Johto Pokemon League, but was easily beaten. Realizing that she needed to get stronger, she spent a good portion of her time alone with her Pokemon and getting a few Pokemon to aid her in her endeavors. She kept trying until she made it to Alola, where the Pokemon League there was laughable compared to all the other ones, but she gave away the Champion status to the current Champion and left. She went to Kanto yet again, trying its league before she was able to end the battle with Champion Lance with a score of 5-6. She lost, but she was literally a Pokemon away from defeating him. She realized that other opportunities were open to her rather than fighting for probably bragging rights as she had no intention to stay settled in one area, she began trying to become an agent of Interpol. It was a difficult couple of years before she was finally admitted as an agent due to her efforts in stopping some poachers with another agent in Sinnoh. While her help wasn't asked, it was still appreciated and they tested her. She passed the tests (some a little less than others) and managed to get in. Natalia then became a member of Interpol by the age of 25 after 4 years of trying to get into that position. Now, she works with Interpol as an agent and has been deployed to several regions in the past 5 years, usually bodyguard duties as her team is quite stacked and are suited for just about any situation.

Nickname: Brutus
Species: Toxapex – [TYPE]Poison[/TYPE][TYPE]Water[/TYPE]
Gender: Male
Defining Features: Brutus has several scars along his tentacles, and his purple fleshy tone is of a more vibrant color. Instead of being the average height of 2'04" (71.1 cm) and an average weight of 32 lbs (14.5 kg), he is 3'00" (91.4 cm) and weighs 48 lbs (21.8 kg).
Personality: Brutus is a very brash and bold Pokemon, taking action that wouldn't exactly be wise in the midst of combat or saying things he really shouldn't be saying. He's a hardass, but he means well and will gladly let himself take the brunt of incoming attacks. He likes to test his endurance and durability this way, even if it might seem a bit reckless. When interacting with others, he tends to be pretty rude and likes to boast about his achievements, but knows when to be quiet when he goes on for too long.
Brief History: As a Mareanie, Brutus was just wandering around, minding his own business in the waters of Alola, preying on nearby Corsola when he had the chance to. He was living the calm life of a Mareanie when his prey was caught by some kind of line. Angry, he rushed up to see his meal battling against a Doublade. He came up when the Corsola called for help, to which the Corsola was shocked at the fact their predator came to "help" instead of a fellow Corsola. As soon as Mareanie was about to attack the Corsola, he was swallowed up into something. Having been caught off guard and left there in stunned awe at what was going on and why everything was so dark, he didn't struggle enough and ended up being caught by a Net Ball. The feeling of a net hugging him into the ball vanished and he was now able to see the outside world. His prey left the area, but the woman who had caught him came to pick him up. Stubborn and difficult to trust at first, Natalia had done what she could to train and grow closer with the Mareanie, to which she affectionately nicknamed Brutus. While he loved the name, he didn't want to admit it. After a few months of being with her from Melemele Island's Route 9 and going through Akala with her, Brutus began putting more and more trust and respect for her, finding her an intimidating force to be reckoned with. Then he wanted to evolve and they headed to Malie City after completing the trials in Ula'Ula Island. To start his evolution, he was pitted against Nanu's Krokorok and beat him with stalling tactics while taking the Earthquake from the Kahuna's desert croc surprisingly well, allowing him to evolve into Toxapex. He has been a primary defensive wall on her team since and hardly leaves her side.
Held Item: Black Sludge - When held by a Poison-Type, it gradually heals instead of gradually damaging the holder. A non-Poison-Type Pokemon takes more damage than when a Poison-Type heals.
Ability: Regenerator - Restores some energy and heals some wounds when switched out.
Moves:
Nickname: Vishy
Species: Dracovish - [TYPE]Water[/TYPE][TYPE]Dragon[/TYPE]
Gender: Genderless (male pronouns)
Defining Features: Vishy has a contraption wrapped around his head. It is a simple design with tanks to hold water and a pump that moves the water around his head and into his gills. The water will surge faster as Vishy uses Fishious Rend. Due to physical exercise and battles are rather physically intensive, the contraption will lose oxygenated water, so Vishy has to submerge his head in water in order to refill the contraption, which automatically starts the process of pumping water out of the device and obtaining new and fresh water. He also has a few scars on his legs and head. Also, instead of being the average height of 7'07" (231.1 cm) and average weight of 474.0 lbs (215.0 kg), he is 8'02" (248.9 cm) and weighs 499 lbs (226.3 kg)
Personality: Vishy is cute, curious, and happy-go-lucky like a Lillipup, but he can be a bit spoiled and be extremely stubborn. He is a notorious judger of character by first glance and first impressions, and will always refer to that person as the character he judged them as, which could either be accurate or not-so accurate. This will only change when he sees them do something he wouldn't expect to see them doing. Regardless, he loves to fight and thrash his body, with Fishious Rend and Outrage being his favorite attacks. He can be very friendly, but getting to know him more will result in seeing his more cranky side. Granted, he is confused as to how he came to be, but the pump pushing water lackadaisically through the contraption around his head is pushing enough water to help him function, but not enough to really ponder as to what his state actually is. Probably for the best.
Brief History: Natalia was tasked by a crazy scientist lady in Galar to find some fossils for her, specifically a few Fish and Drake Fossils. Not knowing what the lady was going to do with them, she watched in horror as the lady combined a Fish Fossil and a Drake Fossil together, reviving a Dracovish. Natalia caught the creature immediately upon seeing him struggling to breathe, too preoccupied with finding a body of water quickly to catch the scientist who had done this. She released him from the Luxury Ball that held him, sending him into the water and allowing him to breathe. Natalia then went on a tireless journey to find some way to give Vishy water on land without having to put a permanent fish bowl around his head. The tireless way Natalia made sure his every needs were met to make sure he didn't continue suffering made the Dracovish wonder why he was given this treatment in the first place. He was an abomination who shouldn't be alive and here she was, making sure he was comfortable. After fitting a contraption on his head that allowed him to breathe without being too bulky, the Dracovish stayed alongside Natalia. She gladly allowed him to stay with her, not trusting anyone else to take care of Vishy the way she had. Vishy now sees Natalia as a guardian and a fighter, no matter what, and expects that of her, sometimes not even realizing that she has emotional needs that need to be met, as well.
Held Item: Assault Vest - A vest around Dracovish's Drake body, it raises his defenses from ranged elemental damage but prevents him from using any Status moves.
Ability: Strong Jaw - Increases the power of biting moves by 50% (includes Fishious Rend, Psychic Fangs, Ice Fang, and Crunch).
Moves:
Nickname: Ferras
Species: Ferrothorn - [TYPE]Grass[/TYPE][TYPE]Steel[/TYPE]
Gender: Female
Defining Features: She has a really shiny metal coating from being rubbed with wax recently. Instead of being the average height of 3'03" (99.1 cm) and weight of 242.5 lbs (110.0 kg), she is 2'11" (88.9 cm) and weighs 250.5 lbs (113.6 kg). Yes, she is denser and is an inch shorter than Brutus, which makes her rather salty.
Personality: There is a lot of attitude on this grass pod than a first glance will tell. She likes complaining when she doesn't want to do something (but still does it anyway) and insulting those who get in her way. While she isn't the most likeable Pokemon, she does have her moments where she shines and helps out those by taking hits for them. She doesn't like attacking all that much, but wouldn't mind watching her opponent flounder as she stacks up debuffs after debuffs.
Brief History: A Ferroseed in Natalia's home region of Unova, the two of them have been together for far longer than most anyone on her team. Ferras was caught in Chargestone Cave as Natalia was passing through and Ferras was caught. It took Natalia a while to find a name that suited her new companion and to get over her sassy attitude, but realized that the Ferras was only acting out for attention. She began training and spending more time with the Grass/Steel-Type, and she mellowed out some when she helped defeat Brycen's Beartic in the Icirrus Gym and evolved into Ferrothorn. This spiky Pokemon has seen Natalia lose her other Pokemon (by extension, her friends) due to Team Plasma taking them away when they were still prevalent, and she has stuck by her side tighter than an Octillery with Suction Cups. She is rather distrustful of those around her until she starts to learn more about them and their character, but still not giving them respect unless they do something for Natalia or herself that is honorable. She has never left Natalia's side and owes it to her to keep her safe at all costs.
Held Item: Rocky Helmet - If the target makes contact with the holder, then that Pokemon takes a decent amount of damage. It's damage occurs before it gets stolen or knocked off.
Ability: Iron Barbs - If the target makes contact with the Ferrothorn, then that Pokemon takes a decent amount of damage.
Moves:
Nickname: Aegis
Species: Aegislash - [TYPE]Steel[/TYPE][TYPE]Ghost[/TYPE]
Gender: Male
Defining Features: He has a large crack in his hilt and his blade has a dark bluish stain on the side. It kind of looks like a birth mark, but it isn't. The cracked hilt was from a battle that got him to evolve from Honedge to Doublade. Instead of being the average height of 5'07" (170.2 cm) and average weight of 116.8 lbs (53.0 kg), he's instead 5'05" (165.1 cm) and weighs 111.2 lbs (50.4 kg).
Personality: Aegis has a grandiose sense of self and importance, and will keep fighting against an opponent, regardless of their being a disadvantage for him or not. He is easily one of the most brutal when it comes to fighting, but will avoid fighting Pokemon who are of their base forms or look "cute" (subjectively to him). He would prefer to fight their parents, if any, or completely ignore them. This is due to him feeling bad about damaging an Igglybuff with Metal Claw when he was a Honedge, so he prefers not to hurt anything that looks round and cute. Despite his stubbornness on opponents and how to conduct his battles, he's very courteous and almost gentlemanly.
Brief History: Natalia caught him on Route 6 during her travels through Kalos. He was floating around, trying to find a tough opponent to defeat and see how strong he is, when Natalia came into view. Despite the type advantage for the Honedge, Natalia won with her Venipede she recently caught on this route. Having been bested, the Honedge began tagging along with Natalia. While Natalia didn't want to catch him at first, the Honedge kept traveling with her as if he were her's. She finally caught him before leaving Route 6, adding him to the party. While he was a little much at times, the two of them grew to respect one another, though the Honedge would give sentiments as to her leaving him behind if he hadn't lost, which confused his large ego. His ego-talk made Natalia laugh (only understanding him through basic ideas and concepts he'd telepathize to her), but found his No Guard rather irritating to train with. During the fight against Ramos' Gogoat in the Coumarine Gym, Honedge had evolved into Doublade and won with his No Guard ability, landing a hit that would have otherwise missed due to its low accuracy. Finding this ability useful and the new form very useful, Natalia refrained from using the Dusk Stone she received soon after the victory and opted to use it to evolve her Doublade into Aegislash when she was traveling through Galar, the novelty of No Guard running out along the way through Alola.
Held Item: Protective Pads - Prevents this Pokemon from being affected by additional effects from attacks. They are worn on the shield and hilt.
Ability: Stance Change - Changes to Shield Forme when they uses King's Shield and changes to Sword Forme when using any attack, changing their stats from defensive to offensive.
Moves:
Nickname: Darma
Species: Galarian Darmanitan - [TYPE]Ice[/TYPE] | [TYPE]Ice[/TYPE][TYPE]Fire[/TYPE]
Gender: Female
Defining Features: Darma has fluffier snow-white fur. Instead of being the average 5'07" (170.2 cm) and weighing 264.6 lbs (120.0 kg), she is 5'11" (180.3 cm) and weighs 286.7 lbs (130.0 kg).
Personality: Darma is just the definition of a sweet cinnamon roll. She is extremely happy and loves to frolic and play with everyone. Even during battle, she finds the thrill of it absolutely freeing and she smiles even wider (which can be construed as a slasher smile if she's not careful). While she is happy-go-lucky, she is rather alert with everything around her and is highly protective of her friends and family, not letting anything befall them. Or at least, trying not to.
Brief History: While Natalia was traveling through the Steamdrift Way of Route 8 in Galar, she met a Galarian Darumaka, who took some of her food and began following her around the place. Originally, she wasn't going to catch any Pokemon on this route, but found the little Ice-Type too adorable to pass up. She thought they were similar to the Fire-Type variant and thought training her and giving her plenty of battle experience would help her evolve. She was, of course, very wrong when she arrived on Route 9, where her brother informed her that this wasn't the case, and the Ice-Type needed an Ice Stone. She found one as she was swimming through Circhester Bay of Route 9, finding something shining out at her as she rode atop the water with her motorized bike. Her Darumaka moved to take the stone, but instantly evolved on accident. Regardless, she was happy with this form, and ended up helping take down Piers and his Grimmsnarl with her new form and her Zen Mode.
Held Item: Leftovers - Hanging around Darma's neck is a necklace with a Sitrus Berry that doesn't seem to disappear when eaten, allowing Darma to regenerate her health in the midst of combat.
Ability: Zen Mode - Upon reaching half of her stamina, Darma will transform into an Ice/Fire-Type and become faster and physically stronger. If Darma gets healed and her stamina reaches above the threshold, she will turn back to her Standard Mode. Role Play, Gastro Acid, Worry Seed, Simple Beam, and Entrainment fail against this Pokemon, as does Skill Swap. Trace, Power of Alchemy, and Receiver can't copy this Ability and it can't be replaced by Mummy. Transforming into this Pokemon doesn't change forms.
Moves:
Nickname: Kiriki
Species: Bisharp – [TYPE]Dark[/TYPE][TYPE]Steel[/TYPE]
Gender: Female
Defining Features: Kiriki has many cuts in her blades, but they are all waxed and honed to be shiny and sharp. Instead of being the average 5'03" (160.0 cm) and weighing 154.3 lbs (70.0 kg), she is 5'08" (172.7 cm) and weighs 172.4 lbs (78.2 kg).
Personality: Kiriki is the odd Pokemon compared to the rest of the her species. Instead of being the ring leader, she wanted to stop what her species was doing. Doing this was really brave, but her bravery bordered on stupidity when she tried taking on fights to save those who were just lost causes. Not caring who she was up against, Kiriki did her best to help anyone, even if she didn't have the skillset to help them. Regardless, she also has a very high sense of morality and will feel like she is slighting someone if she were to ignore their pleas for help. This would mean she would get caught in the crossfires of any attack meant for them, but she doesn't care. While she may still hold on due to her large affection for her trainer, she isn't a super creature, and she tends to forget this.
Brief History: Kiriki was a Pawniard on Unova's Route 9, where she was busy trying to protect her band of Pawniards from attacking a Rufflet. The band of Pawniard attacked her instead when Natalia showed up and used her Ferrothorn to break up the fight, protecting Kiriki and the Rufflet. Amazed at her strength, the lone Pawniard wanted to join her team. However, she had to think on it. Natalia noticed the Pawniard's willingness to come with, and offered to fight against her reigning Bisharp and then her to capture her fairly. Agreeing, Natalia was led to the Bisharp who ruled over Kiriki and her peers and the two fought. Natalia was victorious, but Kiriki felt like she was doing something wrong by not helping her commander. Before the last blow could be dealt, Kiriki intercepted the attack, stopping it short and amazing both Natalia and the Bisharp. After a bit of scolding from the Bisharp, Kiriki was told to go with Natalia, so she may learn how to listen and do what she was told. While it was a cold remark, Kiriki thought there was some relief in her commander's eyes. She then decided to go with Natalia, choosing her as her new commander. After lots of training through Victory Road and then challenging Shauntal at Unova's Pokemon League, Kiriki evolved into Bisharp after she beat a weakened Chandelure, and she actually followed Natalia's orders for once unlike the majority of the time the two have been training together. Now, Kiriki puts her guard duty for use whenever Natalia gets sent to protect someone.
Held Item: Steelium-Z - A gray rhomboidal Z-Crystal is embedded within an arm band around her right wrist. When Z-Power builds, it allows her to change Iron Head and Metal Burst into Corkscrew Crash. Can only use it once per battle and the attack deals 25% of its actual damage when the Pokemon is protecting themselves from the attack.
Ability: Defiant - Whenever this Pokemon's battling capabilities are lowered by the opponent (not by the user themselves or an ally), the defiant nature of the Pokemon makes them physically stronger.
Moves:
She has other Pokemon, but they aren't on her right now.
Moves:
- Baneful Bunker - [TYPE]Poison[/TYPE] | Status | When used, Toxapex protects himself from any incoming damage. If the opponent makes contact with the Toxapex during Baneful Bunker, the opponent will get Poisoned. Consecutive uses may cause this move to fail and it has increased priority. Damaging Z-Moves will deal 25% of the damage dealt and moves like Feint and Phantom Force will lift the effects of Baneful Bunker. Moves that target all Pokemon and moves that target this Pokemon and their allies cannot be blocked.
- Scald - [TYPE]Water[/TYPE] | Special | This move has a 30% chance to burn the target and can melt ice.
- Recover - [TYPE]Normal[/TYPE] | Status | Heals moderate wounds and gives back a decent amount of energy.
- Sludge Bomb - [TYPE]Poison[/TYPE] | Special | This move has a 30% chance to poison the target and doesn't affect those with Bulletproof.
- Toxic Spikes - [TYPE]Poison[/TYPE] | Status | This poisons anyone who steps on the purple caltrops or badly poisons if there are two layers of them. They can be used to block off sections from anyone walking.
- Wide Guard - [TYPE]Rock[/TYPE] | Status | Protects against moves (damaging and status) that target multiple Pokemon, including when allies use them.
- Whirlpool - [TYPE]Water[/TYPE] | Special | Traps the opponent in a swirling watery vortex for short while, chipping away at their stamina. Unless they are a Ghost-Type. It can also be used to clear whirlpools from waters.
- Surf - [TYPE]Water[/TYPE] | Special | Creates a huge wave that attacks all Pokemon and deals double damage to Pokemon using Dive. Is used to surf along the water.
- Iron Defense - [TYPE]Steel[/TYPE] | Status | Hardens their body to be like metal, sharply raising their physical defense.
- Hex - [TYPE]Ghost[/TYPE] | Special | Deals more damage if the target is afflicted with a status condition.
Moves:
- Fishious Rend - [TYPE]Water[/TYPE] | Physical | If the user is faster than the target or if the target switches when Fishious Rend is used, the base power doubles.
- Outrage - [TYPE]Dragon[/TYPE] | Physical | Gets locked into rage for a short while. When interrupted by anything, it will immediately end. When it ends at the last moment it should end or is disrupted before the last moment of attack can be achieved, the user will always be Confused.
- Psychic Fangs - [TYPE]Psychic[/TYPE] | Physical | Removes Light Screen, Reflect, and Aurora Veil on the target's side of the field and then inflicts damage (unless the target is immune or protected from the attack).
- Crunch - [TYPE]Dark[/TYPE] | Physical | Has a 20% chance to lower the target's physical defense.
- Iron Head - [TYPE]Steel[/TYPE] | Physical | Has a 30% chance to flinch.
- Waterfall - [TYPE]Water[/TYPE] | Physical | Has a 20% chance to flinch. Is used to travel up waterfalls.
- Dive - [TYPE]Water[/TYPE] | Physical | Dives in a body of water and resurfaces to attack. It can dodge most attacks when in the water. Can use this to dive deeper underwater and swim with better efficiency.
- Ice Fang - [TYPE]Ice[/TYPE] | Physical | Has a 10% chance to freeze and a 10% chance to flinch.
- Stomping Tantrum - [TYPE]Ground[/TYPE] | Physical | If this Pokemon's last attack failed for whatever reason (except when Protect/Detect/Baneful Bunker was used), then this attack does double the damage.
- Leech Life - [TYPE]Bug[/TYPE] | Physical | Takes 50% of the damage dealt to heal the user. This will cause damage to the user if the target has Liquid Ooze and will stop working if the Pokemon is affected by Heal Block.
Moves:
- Spikes - [TYPE]Ground[/TYPE] | Status | Ferrothorn litters spiky caltrops all over the opponent's field. They can also be used to deter people from following her by laying down the spikes in the way of her pursuers.
- Knock Off - [TYPE]Dark[/TYPE] | Physical | Ferrothorn smashes the item off the target. It can't smash off a Mega Stone, Z-Crystal, or any other special items. They can also use this to knock items out of human hands.
- Leech Seed - [TYPE]Grass[/TYPE] | Status | Seeds sprout from the user and attach to the target, sapping their energy and giving back the user their energy. They can be destroyed by Rapid Spin. It can be blocked by Heal Block and affected by Liquid Ooze.
- Gyro Ball - [TYPE]Steel[/TYPE] | Physical | The slower the user is compared to the target, the stronger this move is. Pokemon with Bulletproof are immune to this attack. Paralysis, stat stages, Iron Ball, and abilities that affect Speed also are taken into account. Trick Room and Stall don't affect the power of Gyro Ball.
- Power Whip - [TYPE]Grass[/TYPE] | Physical | Uses her vine to smash the target.
- Rock Climb - [TYPE]Normal[/TYPE] | Physical | Has a 20% chance to confuse the target. Can also be used to scale rocky walls with ease.
- Iron Defense - [TYPE]Steel[/TYPE] | Status | Hardens their body to be like metal, sharply raising their physical defense.
- Protect - [TYPE]Normal[/TYPE] | Status | Blocks all attacks except Feint and Z-Moves (25% of damage will be dealt), and will lessen with each successive consecutive use.
- Curse - [TYPE]Ghost[/TYPE] | Status | Raises her physical power and defense but lowers her speed.
- Flash - [TYPE]Normal[/TYPE] | Status | Flashes a bright light that lowers accuracy of those who look. Can also be used to light up dark areas.
Moves:
- King's Shield - [TYPE]Steel[/TYPE] | Status | Protects the user from any moves except Status moves for that turn and goes from Sword to Shield Formes. Moves, like Feint and Future Sight and Phantom Force can bypass King's Shield, while Z-Moves will only do 25% of the original damage. If the user blocks an attack that would have made contact (even if the user of King's Shield would be immune by it), the attacker's Attack drops. Using King's Shield consecutively lowers its success rate.
- Swords Dance - [TYPE]Normal[/TYPE] | Status | Increases the user's physical attack sharply with a hypnotic dance.
- Shadow Claw - [TYPE]Ghost[/TYPE] | Physical | Has an increased critical hit ratio.
- Close Combat - [TYPE]Fighting[/TYPE] | Physical | Lowers the user's physical and elemental defenses after use.
- Head Smash - [TYPE]Rock[/TYPE] | Physical | User receives recoil damage equal to half of damage dealt.
- Retaliate - [TYPE]Normal[/TYPE] | Physical | If a teammate was knocked out, this attack will deal double the damage when used immediately after on the target who last attacked the teammate.
- Iron Head - [TYPE]Steel[/TYPE] | Physical | Has a 30% chance to flinch.
- Brick Break - [TYPE]Fighting[/TYPE] | Physical | Smashes the target with enough power to smash tile and it removes Light Screen, Reflect, and Aurora Veil from the opponent's field, but won't if the opponent is immune, protected, or the attack misses.
- Rock Smash - [TYPE]Fighting[/TYPE] | Physical | Has a 50% chance to lower the target's physical defense. It can also be used to smash rocks.
Moves:
- Belly Drum - [TYPE]Normal[/TYPE] | Status | Drops stamina down to half and injuring itself, but maxes out her physical attack.
- Earthquake - [TYPE]Ground[/TYPE] | Physical | Does double damage to Pokemon using Dig and does half damage in the presence of Grassy Terrain. Attacks everyone around her.
- Icicle Crash - [TYPE]Ice[/TYPE] | Physical | Has a 30% chance of causing flinch.
- Fire Fang - [TYPE]Fire[/TYPE] | Physical | Has a 10% chance to burn and a 10% chance to flinch.
- Superpower - [TYPE]Fighting[/TYPE] | Physical | Lowers the user's physical attack and defense.
- Thrash - [TYPE]Normal[/TYPE] | Physical | Locks the user in a violent struggling rage as they target random Pokemon and deal as much damage as they can. It is disrupted due to missing or preventing it from continuing, and the user will get confused after the move finishes due to exhaustion.
- Flare Blitz - [TYPE]Fire[/TYPE] | Physical | Thaws the user and target from being frozen and deals recoil of 1/3 of damage dealt and has a 10% chance to burn.
- Stone Edge - [TYPE]Rock[/TYPE] | Physical | Has increased critical hit ratio.
- Iron Head - [TYPE]Steel[/TYPE] | Physical | Has a 30% chance to flinch.
- Lash Out - [TYPE]Dark[/TYPE] | Physical | If the user's battling capabilities are lowered when this move is used, the power of this attack is doubled.
Moves:
- Iron Head - [TYPE]Steel[/TYPE] | Physical | Has 30% chance to flinch.
- Metal Burst - [TYPE]Steel[/TYPE] | Physical | Returns damage dealt by last foe's attack by 1.5 times, but does not have increased priority.
- Night Slash - [TYPE]Dark[/TYPE] | Physical | Has increased critical hit ratio.
- Swords Dance - [TYPE]Normal[/TYPE] | Status | Sharply increases physical attack due to hypnotic dance.
- Brick Break - [TYPE]Fighting[/TYPE] | Physical | Smashes the target with enough power to smash tile and it removes Light Screen, Reflect, and Aurora Veil from the opponent's field, but won't if the opponent is immune, protected, or the attack misses.
- Aerial Ace - [TYPE]Flying[/TYPE] | Physical | Is very difficult to dodge the attack.
- X-Scissor - [TYPE]Bug[/TYPE] | Physical | Slashes the opponent with crossed Bug-Type aura coming from her blades.
- Screech - [TYPE]Normal[/TYPE] | Status | Harshly lowers the target's physical defense.
- Thunder Wave - [TYPE]Electric[/TYPE] | Status | Releases a weak jolt of electricity that locks joints and paralyzes.
- Stone Edge - [TYPE]Rock[/TYPE] | Physical | has an increased critical hit ratio.
She has other Pokemon, but they aren't on her right now.
Now, I think that's done.

@ThePlayfulFox
Name: Lemma Djur
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Hometown: Lavender Town
Trainer class/Occupation: Poison specialist - Potion Developer
Appearance: Leme sports long and wavy black hair and a healthy 5’7’’ stature, but a relatively weak build. On the outside, she wears a yellow sweatshirt and tough brown pants. She carries a dark blue satchel filled with various Pokemon medicine and enhancers.
Personality: Lemma is often unaware of her surroundings and lost in her thoughts. This unfortunately made her easy prey for the Ghastly that infested her hometown. Years of being “sucker licked” and exposed to paranormal substances seems to have gotten to her, because Lemma eventually developed a deep love for Poison types and their associated chemicals. While not actively social, Lemma is always willing to have a conversation with anyone who approaches her. She is generally honest and friendly, although sometimes she can be blunt in her remarks.
Reason for being in VPC: Lemma came to Vast Poni Canyon to examine its magnetic properties and hopefully get ahold of some useful substances.
Backstory: Aside from the occasional Ghastly “attack,” Lemma had a relatively ordinary childhood in Lavender Town. Outsiders found her home unsettling, but in the end that just meant less tourists and more freedom for her to play with the other children in the graveyard. Once she was old enough to own Pokemon, Lemma picked up a starter from the Palette Town lab and embarked on her journey. After a few years of adventuring and obtaining the odd badge every now and then, Lemma realized that she wanted a more stable and settled lifestyle. So she applied to work a low level job for the Silph Company. There, she picked up chemistry as a hobby and found that she could be quite proficient at it. So Lemma continued to study and tinker with formulas on her own for a couple years while doing low level manufacturing work, until she felt she was skilled enough to apply for the Potion development division. It took several tries, as the laboratory was quite selective; however, she was able to gain the interest of the director with a creative but not quite practical Potion based on Swalot secretions. She managed to land a place in the lower divisions, and continued to contentedly work on newer and stronger formulas.

Nickname: Venny
Species: Venusaur
Gender: Male
Defining Features: Venny’s flower is darker and more wilted than usual, likely due to a slight lack of sun exposure.
Personality: Venny is tough and can take a lot of hits. Out of the three, he easily has the most combat experience and has a sense of responsibility for the rest of the team. His battles are often laborious and long, filled with traded blows and regeneration. Due to his relatively extensive battle history, Venny is fond of combat and yearns for victory.
Brief History: Lemma obtained Venusaur as a Bulbasaur from Pallet Town lab. He was able to rack up several low level gym badges during Lemma’s short career. In the Potions lab, he is sometimes useful for picking up heavy objects and bringing things down from high shelves.
Held Item: Big Root
Ability: Overgrowth
Moves:
-Sludge Bomb
-Giga Drain
-Synthesis
-Leech Seed
Nickname: Assault
Species: Nidorino
Gender: Male
Personality: Assault, true to his name, loves nothing more than to charge indiscriminately at other living things at breakneck speed and ram them with a Horn Drill. He doesn’t seem to care about winning; Lemma suspects that his primary goal is to inflict permanent damage on his opponent. His violent nature can never be controlled. When walking through wild Pokemon infested zones, Assault is never allowed to leave his Pokeball.
Brief History: Assault was obtained in the early stages of Lemmas career as a Nidoran near Lavender Town. He battled just as much as Venny did, yet still failed to reach later stages of evolution due to him fainting nearly every time. In hopes to refine his battle style, Lemma attempted to teach him more long ranged attacks. This worked for the most part, however, she could never seem to get him to forget Horn Drill.
Held Item: Iron Ball
Ability: Sheer Force
Moves:
-Horn Drill
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Earth Power
Nickname: Balloon
Species: Weezing-G
Gender: Male
Defining features: Balloon’s smoke seems to take on a slightly lighter hue
Personality: Balloon is more mellow than both Venny and Assault. Outside of battle, he floats around calmly and with little aggression. In battle, his style is controlled. He can take a few hits, and retaliates with long ranged attacks.
Brief History: Balloon was obtained as a Koffing in Kanto, and happened to evolve during a short visit to the Galar region.
Held Item: Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
Moves:

Accepted Characters:
Name: Daryl Angelo
Age: 43
Gender: Male
Hometown: Icirrus City, Unova
Trainer Class/Occupation: Ranger
Appearance: Daryl is quite tall, standing at a whopping 6'8"- And not really lanky either. He's jacked. He's got long black hair, usually tied off in a ponytail, and styled over one of his eyes. This covers his eyepatch and scars beneath it (Don't prod about that- He doesn't like talking in the first place, and especially not that).
His clothes are dark greens in tone, wearing a vest and cargo pants. With work boots. On his belt are his five Pokéballs, two standard, one Ultra, one Great, and one Dusk.I am terrible with descriptions lol
Personality: Aloof and cold, Daryl dislikes small talk and seemingly people in general. But he clearly cares about Pokémon- Willing to throw himself in harms way for their sake. Truthfully, he's just awkward and feels alienated by his fellow humans, and he definitely can come around to people. But he really struggles 'sticking the landing' in the first place, so it's usually up to his actions to make his character more clear.
Why are they in Vast Poni Canyon?: As a ranger, the story is that he heard reports of aggressive Pokémon sighted within the canyon. He's seeing whether or not the area should be blocked off for the foreseeable future, and to see the reason why they are being aggressive. Maybe there's an invasive species, poachers, or something.
Backstory: "Huh? Why are you asking about that? Back off. I mean it." He doesn't like talking about it. To give some basic background though, he's been a ranger for at least twenty years by now. He's got a reputation for being the go-to guy for "dangerous" situations, and tends to drift from region to region to solve such problems.

Nickname: Doris
Species: Arcanine
Gender: Female
Defining Features: She has a blue bandana around her neck.
Personality: A fiercely loyal companion, Doris would go great lengths to protect her trainer. Stern and steely as he is, Doris is almost a perfect match for him. He'd die for her, she'd die for him.
Brief History: Daryl's closest and longtime friend. He hardly remembers a time where she wasn't by his side. Through thick and thin, Doris has been and always will be his partner. Someone he can fall back on when no one else in the world is there to catch him.
Held Item: N/A
Ability: Flash Fire
Moves: Fire Fang, Thunder Fang, Extremespeed, Iron Head, Flamethrower, Roar, Protect
Nickname: Vaus
Species: Archeops
Gender: Male
Defining Features: Has a red scarf tied around his neck.
Personality: Vaus is very much a wild thing, reeled in only by Daryl and Doris's best efforts. Unwilling to listen in most casual settings, Vaus however does know to listen to Daryl's commands in dangerous situations.
Brief History: Not originally Daryl's Pokémon- And definitely didn't like Daryl for a long time. However, while neither Daryl nor Vaus seem to particularly enjoy one another's company, there's a mutual understanding between the two, that they shared a love for a person. Vaus doesn't like Daryl, but at the least, he can respect him- That's all he would want by this point.
Held Item: N/A
Ability: Defeatist
Moves: Crunch, Dragon Claw, Rock Slide, Agility, Stealth Rock
Nickname: Gatrie
Species: Feraligatr
Gender: Male
Defining Features: Gatrie has a number of scars, befitting his previous nature as a great hunter. He is also slightly larger than most Feraligatr, at 7'10". Also has a yellow band on his arm.
Personality: Alike Vaus, Gatrie is quite wild- Though there's something about him. He's prideful, clearly believing himself superior to a majority of Pokémon. And unlike Vaus, he doesn't know when to listen. Daryl's commands are more like suggestions when it comes to Gatrie.
Brief History: Gatrie was once a prized pet Pokémon. Totodiles are quite cute, after all, but there's an issue that arises with this. What happens when they evolve? While there are solutions to that problem, not many people are super aware of that. And when your cute Totodile becomes a big Croconaw, there's where problems arise. Likely dumped as a Croconaw, it was then Gatrie overcame his pet status and quickly excelled as a hunter. Evolution was inevitable, becoming a great menace to the area he hunted. That's where Daryl comes in- Tasked with capturing the wild Feraligatr, an invader in the ecosystem he was dropped in. Rather than handing over Gatrie to be relocated, he held onto the water type, perhaps feeling that there was no way for him to ever be at peace in the wild.
Held Item: Shell Bell, tied around his neck. Daryl claims its to help keep track of him.
Ability: Torrent
Moves: Hydro Pump, Ice Fang, Crunch, Superpower, Slash, Waterfall
Nickname: Holly
Species: Hattrem
Gender: Female
Defining Features: She has a small green band tied around the brim of her "hat".
Personality: Particularly reserved and quiet, even by Hattrem standards. Not exactly the nicest, but definitely still has a heart. In many ways, she is just like Daryl- Maybe that's why they seem to have been stuck together.
Brief History: Daryl's muted and cold exterior does not fool Holly- Even as a young Hattenna, hardly able to fend for herself, she could feel his intense emotion. That being said, Daryl's also quiet and caring. His dull interactions with people are made up for with his genuine care for his Pokémon, Holly being no exception. Originally being kept only until she recovered from an attack, she found herself attached to Daryl. Besides being resigned at this point at taking in Pokémon who had nowhere else to go, he's happy to have a decent support for the rest of his Pokémon. No telling what could happen out there.
Held Item: N/A
Ability: Healer
Moves: Psybeam, Magical Leaf, Light Screen, Heal Pulse, Charm
Nickname: Chipper
Species: Dusclops
Gender: Male
Defining Features: He has a sticker on his back..."If lost, return to Jackson Blunth". Regardless of the fact that Daryl is clearly not Jackson Blunth.
Personality: To make things simple- Chipper is as sharp as a dull razor and clever as a sack of bricks. He'd fall down a set of stairs because he's a klutz who can't pay attention. Chipper is off in his own private world and we're all just allowed to be around him while that happens. Sometimes he has a moment of brilliance, and he is a good listener, just...No agency for himself.
Brief History: A Pokémon 'loaned' to Daryl as a show of good will from a 'friend'. "Dangerous world out there, you want this guy to keep you safe!" He's unconvinced that the kid wasn't just trying to hand him over a hassle of a Pokémon, or maybe it was some poor attempt at flirting, though Chipper is...Not the worst in any case. But he is a weird standout among Daryl's current Pokémon. The one that doesn't belong.
Held Item: He has a Spell Tag taped to him next to his sticker...
Ability: Pressure
Moves: Shadow Punch, Ice Punch, Protect, Will-O-Wisp, Confuse Ray

Held Item: He has a Spell Tag taped to him next to his sticker...
Ability: Pressure
Moves: Shadow Punch, Ice Punch, Protect, Will-O-Wisp, Confuse Ray
Name: Koa
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Hometown: Seafolk Village, Poni Island, Alola
Trainer Class/Occupation: Dragon Specialist / Aspiring Trial Captain
Appearance: (Design is below, but I'll throw in a short description) Koa is a relatively fit Alolan teen, standing at 1,72m. His skin is lightly tan, his eyes are black and his hair is a dark brown (and quite spiky), although held together by a bandana and a short ponytail at the back. He wears a traditional garb handed down to him from his family, consisting of a poncho, shorts and sandals, outfitted with the shed scales of his partner, Mo-o, as a memento.
Personality:Koa is the stoic type... or at least tries to look like it. Koa has a burning passion for Pokémon, nature, legends and traditions, a passion that he usually doesn't let come out in the presence of others. Due to the high pressure he puts on himself to succeed, Koa attempts to keep a tough guy facade that usually doesn't stick, as he's quite sensitive on the inside. Koa has a knack for people, but isn't the best showing it, due to his fore-mentioned facade, and also not being very socially conscious. He might make someone upset on accident without realizing it, not admitting his fault immediately due to his pride. However, despite this, he's willing to swallow that pride and collaborate when the situation calls for it, and when he makes a friend, he'll cherish that friend forever. Koa can be competitive, but comradery is one of the values he holds dearest to his heart. He also has a strong sense of justice, and will often end up being reckless when he thinks he's being brave. Koa carries himself with an air of discipline and grandeur in conversation that usually evaporates if he finds himself in a more vulnerable spot.
Why are they in Vast Poni Canyon?: Koa lives in a boat home in the shape of a Gyarados docked on Seafolk Village, where he lives with his parents and younger sister. However, he spends most of his time in the Vast Poni Canyon training, battling Trainers and generally spending his free time there with his team, before coming back home for dinner at night.
*Backstory: Koa was born into a clan of dragon trainers, possibly descending from Unova in a distant past, but who had lived in Alola for generations. In his childhood years, he learned of the wonderful myths and legends of Alola, and wished to be a friend to dragons. As he grew up, however, he realized that the customs of Alola, the island trials, did not accomodate for the position of a Dragon-type trial captain. When Koa asked why this was to his parents, he only received an abrasive dismissal. The young wannabe dragon whisperer conducted his own research, and discovered the truth: a discrepancy occurred between his clan and the Kahunas generations ago, and as a result, they were excluded from a position of authority in regards to controlling the Dragon-type trial. Koa wished to correct this slight, and prove to his family -and the world at large- that tradition and modernity can converge, by becoming the first ever Dragon-type trial captain, or possibly Kahuna in the future. To achieve this goal, young Koa set out on an adventure with his Pokémon companions, and has been travelling ever since.
Pokémon (adding one more because he's at home and the general action focus)
1.
Nickname: Mo-o
Species: Kommo-o
Gender: Male
*Defining Features: Mo-o wears a small red sash on his tail, marked with Koa's clan's symbol (which, coincidentally, is a Kommo-o scale).
Personality: Mo-o is proud of his power, and very trusting of Koa. He's not the thinking type, so he usually leaves the strategy part to him. Mo-o enjoys battles because he can show off his strength, as well as possibly find rivals he might consider worthy, but it's not merely a game to him-- Mo-o will get serious when he's facing an opponent he deems evil or dangerous. Another passion of his is good food, and will often act like a hunter with it, even if it's usually Poké Puffs and things of the sort. Mo-o can get distracted easily and will lose interest in something if it doesn't involve physical activity. Something that also upsets him is relying on moves like Dragon Dance to augment his strength, since Mo-o wants to improve his power naturally to not have a need to exploit external sources of power (even if he likes doing the actual dance). Perhaps the only move of the sort that Mo-o is alright with would be Clangorous Soul, which he considers to be a natural part of his abilities and something of a last resort before facing a very tough opponent.
*Brief History: Koa's first ever partner, caught in the Vast Poni Canyon and gifted to him by his parents for his 5th birthday. As a small Jangmo-o, this feisty young specimen became quick friends with young Koa, and they were inseparable ever since. Through the years, they have taught each other, and they hold great sync in battle. Mo-o trusts Koa with his life, and so does Koa with his partner. It would seem that, in fact, Mo-o has been something of an inspiration for Koa in his own martial arts training, and they often imitate each other. They have gone through many a battle together, and will go through many more.
Held Item: None
Ability: Soundproof
Moves (6-10): Clanging Scales, Dragon Claw, Clangorous Soul, Dragon Dance, Close Combat, Sky Uppercut, Drain Punch, Flamethrower, Poison Jab, Thunder Punch.
2.
Nickname: Stretchy
Species: Alolan Exeggutor
Gender: Male
*Defining Features: Stretchy wears a short red scarf with Koa's clan's symbol on it. It flies on his neck, kind of like a flag.
Personality: Stretchy is very cheery and easily excitable, but he doesn't always understand what's happening. He can be clueless, unfocused and easily distracted, and he's not as aggressive as Koa's other Pokémon. However, when it's time to pull his weight, Stretchy is as hard of a worker as any. Tenacious and determined, he'll pour his heart into any task he's given, combat-related or not. Stretchy can be easily underestimated for his funny demeanor, but he'll use that to his advantage-- he's far smarter than he looks. It might need Koa's directions to focus his efforts correctly, though. His top heads have the same mind, but not the tail one. That one's kind of a jerk.
*Brief History: Stretchy was Koa's second ever partner, caught during Koa's early trips to Exeggutor Island with his parents. There, young Koa found that Mo-o wanted to challenge one of the Exeggutors, that being Stretchy. The gentle giant allowed this challenge, but the battle did not go very well for Koa and his partner. During the following trips, Mo-o would go back to challenging Stretchy, and after several battles, the tree-like creature seemed to be knocked down, much to Koa and his partner's delight. Impressed with their strength, and amused by the many battles, Stretchy allowed himself to be captured in order to follow Koa and Mo-o's adventures in the future. As well as being a powerful asset to his team, Koa appreciates Stretchy's ability to see from very high up, a good advantage when adventuring.
Held Item: Rawst Berry (tied around his tail, the tail head eats it when necessary, much to the dismay of Stretchy's main heads )
Ability: Frisk
Moves (6-10): Dragon Hammer, Dragon Pulse, Energy Ball, Solar Beam, Stun Spore, Psychic, Iron Tail.
3.
Nickname: Rebel
Species: Gabite
Gender: Male
*Defining Features: Rebel has a small scar on his right cheek. He seems proud of it. He also wears a red arm band with Koa's family symbol on it.
Personality: Rebel is, well, a bit of a rebel. He likes to pick fights, and can be quite reckless, but that's also because he's passionate. Perhaps due to being the runt of his litter, Rebel connected in a very strong way to Koa, his Trainer, and his other team members, and will often try to be protective of them, even if he's the younger brother type in his relationship with Mo-o, for example. That causes him some discomfort, but he hopes to become more independent soon. Rebel can also be somewhat vindictive, as he can hold grudges for a long time. He still wishes to defeat the Garchomp that beat him, and can pick up petty grudges. However, on the battlefield, there are no distractions. Perhaps partly because of Mo-o's influence, Rebel is the most battle-obsessed in Koa's team, and even if he won't disobey Koa, the Gabite will rush into battle without a plan most of the time. Even so, Rebel has a strong sense of justice, and will never back down if he believes a just cause is in place.
*Brief History: Rebel was first found by Koa, Mo-o and Stretchy in the Haina Desert, during training. There, Koa caught a glimpse of a battle between a Gabite and a Garchomp. Clearly, the former was at a disadvantage, but despite this fact, the underdog kept marching on, swift amongst the rapid sands, trying to prove his worth. Even after defeat, the Gabite's futile attempt to get back resonated with Koa, who wished to battle the Gabite. Despite the injuries, Rebel got up, and engaged in combat with Mo-o, who had only recently evolved into Hakamo-o back then. It was a tough battle, eventually ending in a draw! Impressed by the team's strength, Rebel decided to follow Koa and the others in their trek through Haina Desert, eventually joining their party full-time. Before doing this, Koa promised Rebel that he would allow him to win a rematch against that Garchomp in the near future.
Held Item: Dragon Fang, tied around his neck. It's like a talisman for him.
Ability: Sand Veil
Moves (6-10): Dragon Claw, Dragon Breath, Dig, Earth Power, Iron Head, Rock Slide, Shadow Claw.
4.
Nickname: Chomper
Species: Tyrunt
Gender: Male
*Defining Features: Chomper has a small chip on his tail spike. He also wears a red bandana with Koa's family symbol on it, like the others. Also wears Black Glasses over his head, he puts them on sometimes when he wants to feel cool.
Personality: Chomper is... something of a mystery, as he doesn't always know what's going on. He's clearly the team baby, but doesn't seem to be it at times. Despite being vulnerable deep down, and somewhat cowardly, his less than expressive outward exterior can make his thoughts hard to read, and any sudden actions can seem surprising (since they also usually lack logic). Chomper doesn't always think what he does through, and will try to run away when the situation seems dire, unless Koa steps in to reassure the little Tyrunt that he can handle it. However, that cowadice is only a consequence of Chomper's curiosity, as he'll bite anything he finds, and then run away when whatever he bites has any surprising reaction. Of course, that means Chomper will hide behind Mo-o and the others, which is something that Rebel takes pride in, as that's the only way the Gabite can find himself in a position of superiority amongst the team. Even with his overall lack of experience and oddball behavior, Chomper is eager to help out Koa and the others, and looks up to them as older siblings.
*Brief History: After finding what seemed to be an ancient fossil during a trip with his family to Konikoni City, Koa was fascinated with the jaw-like bone, so much that he bought it for himself. Clueless as to what to do with it, Koa eventually came across a fossil restorer, and was shocked when he heard that fossils could be turned into Pokémon. Eager to discover what the result would be, Koa was very pleasantly surprised to find that Tyrunt, the restored form of the Jaw Fossil, was an ancient dragon! However, Chomper seemed sheepish at first, and ran into Lush Jungle. Koa and his team rushed into the jungle to find the missing Tyrunt, to then find the poor thing cowering from an attacking Lurantis! With quick thinking, Koa directed Mo-o to attack the Lurantis, defeating it after a swift battle. Impressed by his strength and thankful for the rescue, Chomper followed Koa like a Ducklett would its mother, and after the others warmed up to him, Koa, intrigued by what he could learn from him, let the Tyrunt into the team.
Held Item: Black Glasses. He seems to take pride in them, and wears them to seem cool, which Koa and the others find endearing.
Ability: Strong Jaw
Moves (6-10): Stomp, Bite, Crunch, Ancient Power, Dragon Tail, Fire Fang.
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Hometown: Seafolk Village, Poni Island, Alola
Trainer Class/Occupation: Dragon Specialist / Aspiring Trial Captain

Name: Rhys Foelse
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Hometown: Circhester, Galar
Trainer Class/Occupation: Aspiring Professor
Appearance: Rhys is 5’8’’ (178cm) and weighs about 149 lbs (68kg). His build is average, leaning a bit to the scrawny side. He has short, jet black hair with ruffly bangs covering his forehead. He has faded green eyes. Clothing wise, Rhys wears an open white hoodie that reaches well past his waist, its sleeves are puffy. Under it he wears a green sleeveless shirt, adorned with white stripes. He wears brown shorts with big pockets on each side. His shoes are rock climbing boots with a sleek design, sharing the same color as his shirt. Rhys has a brown shoulder duffel bag and a digital multipurpose watch on his right hand.
Personality: Rhys has an insatiable curiosity for Pokémon and their behavior and will often find himself in precarious situations because of it. Although he loves talking about his research, he is quite reserved, slightly timid even, when it comes to talking about himself or other topics he’s not too familiar with. Rhys is confident in his abilities as a professor, but when it comes to anything else, he seems quite aloof.
When engrossed in his research, Rhys can often come across as overly analytical when it comes to the feelings of Pokémon – but beyond that is a person who loves Pokémon and simply wants to deepen his understanding of them for not only his own merit, but for others as well.
Although Rhys is generally respectful, he holds professors in high regard, especially those that are well known.
Why are they in Vast Poni Canyon?: Only months in during his visit to Alola, whispers of a particular phenomenon that caused behavioral changes caught his attention – this immediately sparked his curiosity. Not only was this a once in a lifetime chance to elevate his research, but perhaps also a way to gain attention from well established professors across the continent.
Backstory: Rhys gawked as he looked at the television screen in front of him. With every passing second, he inched closer to the display, almost to the point of pressing his face against it. The thing that had ignited excitement from the pits of his stomach wasn’t a cartoon nor a Pokémon fight. No, it was a documentary. A documentary explaining the behavior of zigzagoon in different regions. He was awestruck.
Ever since Rhys was little; he had the dream of becoming a Pokémon professor. He’d often venture outside, imitating the documentaries he loved so much. Observing the wildlife in real-time only made his obsession of understanding Pokémon grow over the years. He kept observing and even added rigorous self-study into his regimen as well, in hopes of becoming an assistant of a well known professor one day.
Little did Rhys know just how competitive the field of Pokémon science could be; becoming an apprentice without family ties or an impressive resume seemed nearly impossible. However, that did not shake Rhys. At the age of 18, he grabbed his bag and travelled across the Galar region, starting his own research instead. After 4 years of having travelled in Galar, he realized that if he wanted to truly be acknowledged, he had to venture outside of the region he was born and raised in.
His choice was quickly made; he was going to Alola. The vastly different climate and its influence on the behavior of Pokémon was something Rhys had to see with his own eyes, rather than from behind a television screen. He booked his ticket and set out, together with his trusty companions he made on the way.

Brief History: Nick was Rhys’ first self-caught Pokémon. Whilst traveling through Galar, he noticed a group of zigzagoon fight each other. He was intrigued and decided on observing them for a while. One of them was visibly more weathered, judging from the scars and nick in its ear. After a few days of closely researching them, the zigzagoon caught on and confronted them, leading to a battle. Rhys was surprised with how resilient he was, refusing to give up even after all the damage he had taken. It took Rhys’ his entire supply of poke balls to finally catch him. Brief History: During his travels in Galar, Rhys managed to come across a very peculiar pikachu. It stood still most of the time, just minding her own business. As Rhys kept observing her, he couldn’t help but wonder what caused this kind of behavior in a Pokémon that is known to be energetic. Name: Hanako Fujimoto
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Hometown: Vermillion City, Kanto
Trainer Class/Occupation: Kimono Girl/Lass, Paleontologist Intern
Appearance: Hanako is on the small side, coming in at 4'11" and weighing 110 lbs. She has short black hair and a bit of a tan from the time she has been spending in Alola. Her eyes are light blue. Today on her little venture to Vast Poni Canyon, she's wearing hiking boots and khaki shorts, as well as a light brown hiking hat with a red flower in it. She's carrying a small backpack containing her lunch, snacks, a bladder of water, a water bottle, Potions, Revives, and Super Repels.
Personality: Hanako is a rather softhearted girl who tends to cry when scared. Doesn't really enjoy battling, as she doesn't particularly like it when Pokemon or people get hurt. However, she does understand that many people and Pokemon, even her own, have a great love for battling and almost seem to be prone to it. So she does her best to support then when they do battle, and makes sure to carry around a lot of medicine for when the battle is over and repels so she can avoid wild encounters in the first place. Her ideas of adventure are going for calm hikes in caves and other interesting places, or going for a swim with her Pokemon. Hana doesn't have any real experience with intense adventures or danger, and does not have a desire to go seek it out. She thinks fossils are really cool and likes to collect them. Hana also tends to bond well with fossil Pokemon.
Why are they in Vast Poni Canyon?: She had a day off and thought that it would be a good place to look for and collect fossils.
*Backstory: Short story, she got a summer job working as help for a paleontologist. I'll expand on this later cause I don't feel like finishing it now lol

Nickname: Kabo
Species: Kabuto
Gender: Male
*Defining Features: Kabo is smaller than the average Kabuto, and has a smiley face sticker on the back of his shell that he thinks is very fashionable.
Personality: Kabo is fiercely protective of Hana, and as such does not like to be in his Pokeball. He prefers his favorite mode of transportation, sitting on Hana's head like a hat. He's not afraid of Pokemon that look bigger or tougher than he is, and tries his best to look tough and intimidating. Which can be rather hard to do when your on the top of your favorite human's head. He's suspicious of other humans and Pokemon (especially plant types, which he does not get along with), but will warm up quickly to them if they are literally warm, or allow him to ride on them. Or both. It managed to stop its own evolution, choosing to stay a Kabuto for now because it liked this form better than a Kabutops.
*Brief History: Was revived in the Cinnabar Lab, and
Held Item: None
Ability: Battle Armor: Blocks critical hits.
Moves (6-10):
Species: Omastar
Gender: Female
*Defining Features: Mimi is a little larger than the average Omastar.
Personality: Mimi is the more friendly one of Hana's Pokemon, which is slightly unfortunate because it also looks a bit more intimidating. She tries to be motherly to smaller Pokemon, but accidently ends up looking more like she's trying to eat the Pokemon. A very kindhearted Pokemon that likes to help out where she can, and also very much enjoys swimming as it is much easier for her to navigate then on land.

Held Item: None
Ability: Swift Swim: Doubles speed in rain.
Moves (6-10):
Species: Rampardos
Gender: Male
*Defining Features: Brawn has quite a few scars on his body from his battling history, and his horns are incredibly sharp and tough.
Personality: Brawn is definitely one that enjoys battling. He misses the thrill of competitive battles, as they just don't seem to compare with battles against wild Pokemon. While he loves scritches and being cuddled, if he's getting some in front of other Pokemon he'll act like he doesn't like it to try to stay 'cool'.
*Brief History: Brawn does not actually belong to Hana. He belongs to her boss, John. Before John became a paleontologist, he had tried his hand at battling and had done okay in it. Brawn had been the anchor of John's team. But after a few years, John decided to retire and become a paleontologist, and Brawn assisted by helping the best he could, whether it was helping people get to difficult excavation sites, helping with the excavations himself, or defending the sites from wandering wild Pokemon.
Brawn took a liking to Hana, bonding quickly with the small human and her other fossils. In the few times that the excavation site was attacked by wild Pokemon, Brawn allowed himself to take orders from Hana during the battle. When Hana said she wanted go on a hike in the Vast Poni Canyon, John couldn't help but to be a little concerned. The Pokemon there were pretty tough, and while Hana's original team wasn't exactly pushovers either, he still had Brawn go with her for additional protection. A suggestion that might end up saving Hanako's life...

Name: Easton Aberra
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Hometown: Olivine City, Johto
Trainer Class/Occupation: Photographer / Main Magazine Photographer for National Pokégraphics and a couple other organizations
Appearance: Easton stands at a 6'0" with a fairly lean build, although leaning probably more towards the skinny side as of lately. His skin tone naturally is a light fair skin lacking in melanin, although he has been putting on a bit of a tan lately from being exposed to the sunlight all day. His hair is naturally straight and flat, but being the stylistic person he his, he likes to give it a nice perm for more appeal. His hair is also naturally black, but he likes to dye it a chestnut brown for a warmer tone to his image. His facial features consists of dichromatic eyes, his right side being brown and his left side being half brown and half green. Easton likes to consider his left eye to be his camera focused eye whenever he styles or takes pictures of things. In order to travel and move around a lot for the best angles and shots, Easton generally dresses lightly. His top consists of a beige short sleeved button up with his black shoulder fanny pack slung around his right shoulder. It depends on the weather, but if it's hotter, Easton wears black shorts with three green striped streaking diagonally the pockets. If it's colder, he wears light blue denim. His shoes are always the same, brown boots to be able traverse different terrains. Accessories is always a camera strapped around his neck, ready to take a picture at any moment.
Personality: Easton is known to be quite an overzealous lad. He takes his job very seriously, although he likes to switch things up and have fun with it occasionally too. He likes to enjoy himself while working, which means he does tend to try to interact with his surroundings and other Pokemon to get the perfect visionary. Being a previous coordinator before, Easton is also very intricate and a bit of a perfectionist, wanting everything to look stylish or at least look good. When he doesn't get things his way, he gets irritable and annoyed quite easily. But usually, Easton does have a sociable personality with hints of gentleness and compassion especially for Pokémon, since he does have to work with wild Pokemon on many occasions during his field work. He also has a lot of confidence in his abilities as a trainer and photographer, and loves praises for it, as he did shoot up all the way to Main Photographer for a big magazine corporation. When people diminishes his accomplishment, it does greatly annoy Easton and causes Easton to perform worse overall. Goes to say that he doesn't cope well under pressure, so he tries to do a variety of things to ease his body and mind.
Why are they in Vast Poni Canyon?: For the next issue of National Pokégraphics, Easton went to the Alola Region to find something interesting for the company. Going to the Altar of the Sunne/Moone may be a good start to his story, but seeing how the canyon was blocked off, Easton, being the adventurous photographer he is, somehow snuck into the blocked off area to find his new scoop.
*Backstory: Born in the city of Olivine within the Johto region, Easton was always invested in the path that was most stylistic and artistic. His parents were any other ordinary parents, having decent jobs and decent income, so his childhood wasn't anything too outlandish compared to any other children. By the age of 10, Easton had already started his journey to become a coordinator, which was quite a popular choice for trainer occupation at the time. Starting with the Johto Region, then Kanto, then Sinnoh, then Johto again all in that order. He managed to get into the Grand Festival twice during that time, both of which being Sinnoh and his Johto reprise. Although he wasn't able to make it to top coordinator, he consistently strived to make it there one day. Soon, taking a break from contests, Easton travelled to Kalos to learn about showcases. Although he wasn't able to participate, the showcases being females only, it was there that he picked up an internship for the regional magazine focused on Pokemon Performers, kind of like Coordinator Monthly, but for Showcase performers. From then, Easton is currently taking a hiatus the spotlight as a coordinator and now works as a photographer thanks to his stylistic eye, which made him move up the ranks as a photographer from intern throughout many years.
