So this is less an actual discussion, thread moreso attempting to drum up ideas and possible members for those interested in the idea I had for an roleplay.
In the small, picturesque town of Ertensoul, a peaceful area for those seeking a quiet life, or those with enough money to build extremely large properties there, life is continuing as it always has, as if time has stopped. There’s a thriving nearby school that grows in student numbers with every new year, a titanic local library with collections amassed from years upon years back, and many abandoned fields with rather dangerous passages to underground cave systems that somebody really ought to block up. If they were aware they existed, of course.
However, 12 students from the local school find themselves imbued with a strange power, a phenomenon unique only to the town, and to them:
At midnight, if still up and about, they seem to find themselves almost instantenously in a very different Ertensoul. This seemingly timeless world of reflections and refractions holds many secrets of the town around them- sometimes, seeing the twisted illusions that reflect reality there can unearth hidden truths. However, from the mirages in the Reflection World, the chosen twelve have one defense: Special abilities imbued into each of them only while in the Reflection World, corresponding to the Birthstone of their month. Through the use of the Reflection World, will the Birthstone Warriors be able to uncover the truth about the town in reality, and free both it and the Reflection World from the terror gnawing at it from right in plain sight?
Well, with that excessively over the top summary out of the way, yeah that’s the concept. For more elaboration, the Twelve Birthstone Warriors were each chosen from the schoolchildren for having been born in that specific month, and were assigned to those specific Birthstone related powers. The Reflection World is like a warped, illusory maze version of the town, that despite the reversed nature of things, also seems to hide some rather major truths in its refractions of reality. I have most of the actual backstory and plot ideas written, and i’ll probably have to take the role of a few of the Birthstone Warriors myself for that extent (after all, it wouldn’t be that exciting if they all aligned together too quickly now, would it?), but this is mostly a way of finding people who would be interested, and knowing which Birthstone they would want for their characters, before I actually end up taking some. I’m also gonna throw down my general list I planned to use here- the powers and new forms they receive will be kind of based on these gemstones and what they represent, as well as the characters own past or personality in certain cases. I also took the liberty of choosing the most easy/well known variations of the different Birthstones from the many different versions, so if anyone does have one they want to see on there, if they can give a reason as to why it would be better and could be used more effectively i’ll take that into consideration.
