Welcome back to Pokécharms! We've recently launched a new site and upgraded forums, so there may be a few teething issues as everything settles in. Please see our Relaunch FAQs for more information.
Folks. And by folks I mean our newcomers.
Kindly read the RP forum rules.
You're posting in present tense, and that's not allowed. Third person, past tense, story format.
You would also do well to remember that the Pokemon World is not Earth, it would not feature media from Earth - and while...
It has come to my attention that this thread ALSO has multiple instances of unnecessary Youtube videos - something that escaped my attention until now as wading through 100+ pages of Magical Ninja Funventures™ to hunt down every single possible rule-break people might have stumbled into is not...
Power spots are absolutely restricted to Galar and cannot appear anywhere else, so if the RP isn't set in Galar, there will be no Dynamaxing/Gigantamaxing here.
Also remember that we have rules regarding the use of art in the RP forums. I removed the stolen art from your post, use words to...
Read the RP forum rules. They state everything you need to do and all the information I need you to provide me with to have your application considered.
Someone hasn't read our rules, obviously.
The involvement of a Legendary Pokemon requires approval of staff, which you did not request or receive.
Thread locked.
Long story short: let people actually interpret characters/scenes for themselves rather than spoon-feed them background details you siphoned off of entirely unrelated video games/anime/whatever forms of media, please. But if something is absolutely critical, use the discussion threads and at the...
The problem is mostly one of keeping the relevance of the thread to everyone in the RP rather than have it degenerate into a pile of unrelated, unsolicited music videos, memes and one-word replies - as sadly often happens with these because people seem to not get what forums are and what they...
Discussion threads are a bit of a greyer area. They're meant to discuss various elements of the RP, be a place for participants to iron out details about the setting and future interactions, set up control permissions etc - and yeah, sometimes discussing specific posts etc.
Rather than rely on music or art or whatever that are not your own work, have no business being there, and clutter up posts in the RP forums something fierce.
I'm a busy biomechanical abomination, things fall by the wayside sometimes, so thanks for prodding me.
Honestly, again. RPs are meant to be collaborative stories. That means stories. Words. Being inspired by music is fine, but you should be able to communicate the feelings and atmosphere etc...
I think the key with multiple-author fics (and RPs as that's more or less what they're supposed to be here) is to settle on a form of worldbuilding everyone involved can work with. This is one of the reasons we have discussion threads too - so people can iron out details like that together. ^^
They're not quite animals but they are not humans either - there'd probably be a whole damn lot of nuance to it! And I'd also imagine that because the Pokemon World is so open for interpretation different headcanons by different people would have different ways of looking into this. ^^
Don't get me wrong - these stories have some degree of merit if done right, and everyone has to start somewhere with their writing. But ye gods, people, would it hurt you to think about what you're doing and the possible ramifications thereof. >>;
And I'm also quite tired of edgy kids going all "my character killed someone, no big deal, lol" as if that's a substitute for any in-depth character development or as if being on the run from the law makes their character cooler in some way.
Anyway here I am writing walls of frelling text when I said I wouldn't, so I'm just going to say this - one of the things that give me a vast headache about people RPing Pokemon is that they usually don't really think about how these Pokemon would function in the wild and their potential...
