    GameCrash Presents: E3 2017

E3 2017 starts here. EA's conference is taking place tonight at 8pm BST - the earliest any E3 conference has ever taken place. As we normally do, we'll be providing insight and previews into all the E3 conferences and reactions, updates and news to what comes from them. This year, though...

    Pokecharms Awards Day!

We occasionally run competitions and creative challenges (much like the one currently running) and sometimes those have prizes such as custom titles up for grabs. I don't think anything that would ostensibly be a popularity contest would be a particularly good idea as it wouldn't really reward...

2003 is the official starting point for Pokecharms because that's when it was created in, to a degree, the form it is now - and has been going constantly since. The origins of the site go back to before that, though, and that's where 2001 comes from.

    Weird Ad

It's nothing to do with us, but it's conceivable that Adsense has started doing this as a fallback for when it doesn't have a paid ad to show. Google has a pretty solid cache of the pages on the site, after all.

Nintendo Switch launch confirmed for 3rd March globally

And, no, Pokemon was not featured in any way. No Pokemon Stars and no Pokken. I'd expect to see a bit more on that front at E3 this year instead.

Nintendo Switch launch confirmed for 3rd March globally

Today's big Nintendo Switch presentation has been and gone in the wee hours of the morning, and the end result is... mostly just confirmation of what a lot of us had already assumed, but confirmation all the same. The Switch will be out worldwide on the 3rd March for $299US/£279.99. There may be...

    Let’s talk about NX, baby

In 2014, pretty much 2 and a half years ago now, we posted on Pokecharms.com about the possibility that Nintendo would be bringing new hardware to that year’s E3. Back then we talked about rumours that this new hardware would be neither a successor to the Wii U in the console world nor a...

    Advertisement Filter?

Most of the time, Adsense will generate an ad based on a combination of your browsing history and the specific content of the page the ad is on. This means that the majority of the time the ads you see will either be specifically relevant to you and what you've been searching for lately or...

    Do you keep your starter?

Unless I'm doing a run where I've bred up a specific set of Pokemon to use through the game, I pretty much always keep my starter throughout. The fact is that they're usually one of the best examples of that type/type pair in the game anyway, so there's not much point in not keeping it in active...

Worlds opening event reveals more new Pokemon and further power creep for the TCG

The opening event for the Pokemon Worlds tournament has taken place in San Francisco today (and don't worry that you weren't able to watch it live - neither was anyone else). In it there was some news about the TCG and the announcement of 4 new Pokemon - 3 of which we're seeing outside of Japan...

    Be Safe Online

Given the subject matter of this website, it shouldn't be a shocker to learn that there are quite a lot of young people on these forums. It's important to us that Pokecharms remains a safe place for everyone and that means following some simple guidelines for yours, and others, safety on the...

Japanese Pokemon site possibly teases Alolan forms of Dragonite and Zubat

Following yesterday's official reveal of new Pokemon, new Alolan forms and Team Skull, the Japanese Pokemon Site added, along with the details of the newly revealed Pokemon, seemingly entirely random pages featuring both Dragonite and Zubat, then sent out this cryptic tweet: The text...

Alola Forms, Z-Moves, Island Challenge, And More Revealed!

There's a reasonable chance that they are real, but we won't be posting about them until there's an official source, so we won't be addressing those potential leaks any further than this specific comment.

Pokemon Go Ahead or Pokemon Go Away? The Pokecharms.com Review

Does Pokemon Go fulfil its lofty promises? Or should it just Pokemon Go Away? When Pokemon Go was announced last year, it perhaps wasn't really the Pokemon game we were all sitting around waiting to be announced (which if you had asked any of us at the time, was 100% going to be a Pokemon Z...

GameFreak runs out of creativity - makes Pokemon from a meme and a 3 year old's drawing of Pikachu

Would your feelings be preserved if I put a giant 'WARNING: SNARKY HUMOUR INFLUENCED BY OPINION' banner in flashing letters at the beginning of my news posts?

Darkrai announced as new competitor in Pokken Tournament

Today, after a brief tease about it last month, a new Pokemon has been announced as a fighter in Pokken Tournament - the first new fighter to be announced since the release of the Wii U version and the first indication of DLC content arriving for the console version as well. That Pokemon is...
