    2003 is the official starting point for Pokecharms because that's when it was created in, to a degree, the form it is now - and has been going constantly since. The origins of the site go back to before that, though, and that's where 2001 comes from.

    It's nothing to do with us, but it's conceivable that Adsense has started doing this as a fallback for when it doesn't have a paid ad to show. Google has a pretty solid cache of the pages on the site, after all.
