Private/Closed A Reunion Told by Fate

@Yonnie ∩^ω^∩

A breeze trickled in the air as a girl stood in front of a bread cart. Her wavy brown locks blew slightly, long and wispy. The visor over the cart protected her and the old seller from the sun's cheerful rays, which had left a tan on her skin gently. Her dark eyelashes blinked away any passing dust, which she had learned to ignore after her departure from her school. She missed those days often, nearly every day. When she and her friends traveled together, joked and laughed, and learned all about the world. But she had learned about moving on after her beloved mother had been stolen by death. This new, confident young woman was none other than Kaytlin, once one of the weakest Pokémon trainers around.

“Arigato, Gio,” Kay thanked the old man who handed her the loaves of bread. Gio gave a gentle crooked smile. He thanked her in a native language, in which Kay smiled and nodded. She placed the coins on his cart and waved goodbye. Then, turning and placing the wrapped loaves in her purse, Kay went off, her loved Liepard strutting beside her. Kay's light eyes scanned the busy city, recognizing all of the sights she'd visit everyday. After Kay graduated, she returned to Snowbell City, where she studied Pokémon and provided health to them. But when she got an urgent call in Lumiose from her mother, she had packed her bags and set off there. Later, her mother had died there in Lumiose, suffered from a heart attack whilst in Lumiose Tower. Kay barely dared to look at the tower anymore, but learned to accept the tragedy that happened only a year ago. Now at the age of 22, Kay was one of the most successful Pokémon scientists. “Nea,” Kay said, stopping by a Pokémon Center. “Should we stop at the groomers? Your fur is quite long.” She looked down at her beautiful cat. There was a pink ribbon around the feline's neck, with a gold chain that held her address and number. Liepard simply let a soft rumble from her throat, and Kay smiled. “Perhaps another day...”

She continued to carry on with Liepard, her red sneaker's laces bouncing with each step. Kay had in a ponytail, similar to the one she wore as a child. However, her hair was long and more curled. She didn't care about the scar on her face as she would go around town with confidence. She remembered how she was terrified of people noticing it. That brought her the memory when she first met her best friends. Kay laughed softly and quietly to herself. Being chased by Beedrill and hiding in forests, shopping with Ashen, laughing with Key. She missed most of it. “Nea,” Kay said gently, “come.” She sat down on a bench by the Lumiose tower, Nea jumping up next to her. Kay set her purse down and pulled a loaf out. She looked up and stared at the hundreds of people walking and chatting. Kay hadn't made many more friends since meeting her best friends, except for a coworker a couple years older than her. She relaxed more into the bench, thinking about her past, a small smile on her face. Her eyes stung a bit as she remembered everybody's reunion, wishing it could be more like it at the current time. Kay looked down at Nea, who was grooming herself and soaking in the sun. She smiled at the cat who often reminded her of herself.

Kay bit her lip gently, she had put the loaf back and was now staring st the ground. She fidgeted with the charm bracelet she had bought many years before with the generosity of Key. Her eyes lit up slightly as she remembered her giant crush on Key. She liked to look back and laugh at herself for being a dork, thinking about how nervous she was to meet him. But he had still accepted her friendship, which had made her plenty happy to the current day.

The sun's cheerful rays danced around the room like a ball. The walls and the floor soaked them up, which gave the room a soft glow. How warm it was in the room was indescribable, it was like a the beach on a perfect summer day. A young, ocean blue haired man cradled the white sheets and pillow to his face. As the sun rose slightly more, it slowly crept up on him. It gave his skin a sun kissed glow and made his hair a brighter blue. The sun wrapped around his bare torso and lower abs. This young man, seemed to be in his early twenties, and his name was Key. He slowly opened his eyes, the sun brightened up his one crystal blue eye, and his one hazel forest green eye. They scanned the room back and forth, still hazed from the amazing sleep. Key sat up in the bed, the sheets slowly fell down and draped around his lower hips. He smiled at the sun, it had broken through so early but Key didn't mind, he enjoyed days when he got enough sleep.

The traveler had recently made his way back to Lumoise City the night before, his journey had brought him back for a small vacation before he begun his journey again. "Swampert!" he called, he searched the room again once his eyes had cleared up. Key's best friend Swampert had dashed out of the bathroom and tackled him down back onto the bed, his tongue met with Key's face over and over. "Hahah! down boy down! you seemed well rested!" he laughed. Swampert backed away and looked at key, they shared a bound those two, always have and always will.

Key got dressed quick, first his boxers then his pants and a shirt. His wallet in his back pocket and his he always carried around with him, the one he got from Pokemon champion brandon (ruby). "Ready to go out and shop for the day swampert?" he asked, the water Pokemon didn't pay much attention, he was to busy playing on Key's messy hotel bed. Key rubbed his forehead and laughed at Swampert and decided to join him for a few minutes. The commotion caused some of his neighbors to bang on the walls to get them to hush up.

Key and Swampert made their way out of the door and down the hotel elevator, he stroked the top of Swampert's head. Key remembered back when his bestfriend was a small Mudkip and use to travel under his hat. Key also remembered the times when he would travel with his best friends Kay, Ashen and Alice.

Key remembered how much of a idiot he was back then, he traveled with three beautiful girls and didn't try to make any of them like him. His head sunk in disappointment, he had traveled so much he didn't make any time to find himself someone to at least cuddle with. As he drifted into thought, Swampert crawled his way under Key's arm and nuzzled his sides. Key came back to reality and nodded, he had Swampert to cuddle with, he's always had him. As they made they way out of the elevator, Key walked out of the hotel. The hotel had stood tall but not as tall as Lumoise tower which was a couple of blocks down the streets. "Let's go buddy" Key smiled and pushed his back foot toward, which sent him bolting down the street. He always ran everywhere, it one; helped him keep in shape and two; kept his Pokemon in physical condition for battling. Swampert got down on his four legs and sprinted after Key with a determined look on his face. Key dodged through people on the side walk, he seemed like a Tauros on a mission. Some people watched in Awe, they usually didn't see something this crazy out on the streets every day. A snap here, and a snap there, pictures were taken everywhere Key and Swampert ran. It wasn't long until they made it to the tower.

Kay cleared her throat as Nea looked up to her. Her beautiful yellow eyes were big. Kay smiled down at her beloved companion. “I think we'd better give you rest. You can wash up in peace, too. Return, Nea.” The elegant Liepard was returned into her Pokéball, purring loudly before being returned. Kay looked at the pretty cherish ball her cat was held in, the same ball her Eevee from long ago was kept in. Kay put Nea's ball into her bag and pulled another one out. “Come on out, Jax.” She opened the other ball and an elegant Mienshao was sent out. His gaze was deep and thoughtful as Kay rubbed his forehead. “Here, Jax. I bought this for you,” Kay said with a smile as she pulled out a loaf of bread. She knew Jax was still a little hesitant to trust her. After all, she had only had him for around a week after rescuing him from traps. Jax's eyes slightly brightened as she gave the loaf to him. Gio's bread was the best in Lumiose, healthy for people and Pokémon, so Kay was a regular customer.

As Jax ate the bread contently, Kay stood up straight wand brushed off her knit sweater and skinny jeans. She had only now realized they were ripped at the thighs and knees, most likely from Autumn, her Leafeon, playing little pranks on her. As she moved her hand, she heard the charms on her wrist jingle quietly. However, she also heard a new noise, one she hadn't heard before. Quietly, she heard small clicks and snaps, seemingly from a camera. She wasn't quite sure about it though. She usually never went to Lumiose tower in the morning, so maybe she had been missing something regular?

Jax finished the bread and looked where Kay was looking. He nudged her arm gently to grab her attention, and he succeeded. Kay bent down to his height, smiling at him. “You done, bud?” Jax gave a small bow before motioning towards his Pokéball. “Ah, of course,” she chuckled lightly. “In you go, Jax.” She pressed the button with a click and in he went. As Kay stood up once more, she grabbed her burlap purse and slung it over her arm. However, when Kay looked straight from the tower, she saw a sight she dearly missed.

Key. Her best friend. She had fest noticed his bright hair, then his colorful eyes, and then his Swampert, who she had remembered only as a Marshtomp then. Her throat felt dry. “Key?” She said, but far too quiet to hear. Kay swallowed as a pretty smile began to form on her face. “Key...?” She repeated, taking one tiny step, then stopping to stare at the now young man. He had well aged since then, and her inner voice giggled about why it was reasonable to have a crush on him. Her bright eyes shone happier than ever as she saw his own, the two colors that she had thought were so amazing as a child. And now, she still did

Key took a leap in the air and landed in front of Lumoise tower water fountain just before Swampert did, he was out of breath. He could feel his chest grip tight as he tried to take in the nice cool air. Simultaneously he bent over and held himself up, his hands gripped his knees and he then threw himself back and lifted his arms. "AH! that was a great morning workout right buddy" he said as he turned to Swampert. Key forgot how easy it was for his Pokemon to regain energy after a workout with him, how he wish he had their dexterity. The young man's ears perked up, sounds of commotion and laughter riled up behind him, maybe he accidently knocked over something and a mob had come after him. Key held his hands up and slowly turned, but what he was surprised by was the fact no one seemed angry, but they looked happy and excited and some people had their phones out. "Um, w-what's going on?" he said shyly. What no one realized was that Key was camera shy, he didn't like to be the center of attention, but he can't help but end up the center because of his personality.

Key backed away slowly, he held his hand up and give everyone an awkward smile. "P-Please I'm not good with crowds" he said as he backed up one foot at a time. Key's head darted side to side, people slowly inched closer and closer to him. It wasn't like he was famous or well known, so why were these people slowly inching their way to him, Key didn't understand at all. His eyes moved through every opened spot in the crowd, until he saw a familiar face between the whole. She had stared back at him, soon Key seemed to be lost in the gaze of the face. It was Kay, one of his best friends, but she was different. She had matured, Key's face slightly blushed, he slowly pushed his way through the crowd and towards Kay.

"Kay..?" he said out loud, his hands gradually pushed people away from him. His smile became slightly bigger. It couldn't be Kay, he hadn't seen any of his friends in years, "Kay is that you!?" he yelled, his hand turned into a wave and Swampert ran after him. Key was excited, he was more than excited, he couldn't explain it. His heart pumped faster then when he had raced Swampert, he could feel his feet come off the ground as he leaped into the air. "KAY!!" he yelled out once more until his arms came around her. His hug was deep, and loving. He didn't want to let go, but he knew if he hadn't it would have been awkward. Key backed up a little and held Kay by the shoulders.

Swampert stopped right beside Key and made his way through his hug, he begun to lick on Kay's face. Swampert was excited as well to see another friend he hadn't in so long. Key smiled and back away, the sun had blazed down brightly on top of them and the scar below Key's lip becomes visible.

Kay's face lit up extremely as she saw her best friend and his Pokémon running towards her. The next thing she new, she was being locked into a well needed hug by Key. She had wrapped her arms around him too, squeezing him tightly and happily. She felt the most joy she had ever felt for more than a year. The hug lasted long, but Kay felt as if it wasn't long enough when Key had shortly separated themselves. As Swampert had snuck in between the hug too, Kay laughed, grinning as he began to lick her face. Kay bent down to hug Swampert too, scratching underneath his chin as she rubbed his back. She missed Key so dearly, it almost felt like it was a dream. Is this actually happening? She asked herself. She desperately wanted for it to be real.

After many seconds of her reunion with Swampert, she stood back up to Key's height and looked up to grin at him. He was still taller than her by much, but that didn't stop her from wrapping her arms around him and burying her face onto his chest. “God, Key, I can't believe you're here!” She said excitedly, pulling her face off of him to get a better look at him. She studied how he had gotten older and more mature, and most certainly more handsome. Kay also noticed the scar on Key's lip.

“Have you been getting into trouble while we were separated?” She giggled as she pointed to the cut. Her face was flushed a light pink as happy emotions flooded herself. Obviously, Kay had missed Key far too much to have stopped hugging him. She had still had her arms around his waist, although they received multiple stares and whispers. She did, however, reach down to play with Swampert for a bit. “I missed you guys so much,” she murmured happily, he cheeks softly reddening as she looked up into Key's colorful eyes.

Key smiled when she wrapped her arms around him and placed her head on his chest. He lightly placed his arms around her as well and stroked her head. Key was very excited, to be honest he was surprised that Kay was even happy to see him because he lost contact with everyone some time ago. He stroked the top of her head, her hair was soft, he ran his fingers through her soft course hair, they danced back and forth inside and outside of it until she pulled away.

"I know right, I didn't Imagine you to be here as well!" he replied back. He watched as the female pulled back and studied him, his face turned slightly pink from her attention. Key crossed his leg and leaned back, he placed his hands behind his head and had a big grin on. "You know me, always trying to become more like a Pokemon everyday" he said. Key gently grazed his lips down to his scar, he forgot his scar was sensitive sometimes, but it felt good to him. Kay returned back to hug Key, and he replied with another hug back. He didn't want to let go but here and there he'd see some people stop and whisper about them and it kind of made Key shyer then usual. When Kay reached down to play with Swampert, Key found himself studying her form. She had grown so much, she seemed more outgoing, not so shy, she was happy and bold shouldered. Most of all she was, just crazy gorgeous and Key couldn't help but stare back into her eyes.

"Oh.. a-ah!" he said shyly, Key quickly turned his gaze somewhere else and slightly scratched his cheek with one finger awkwardly chuckling. "Do you want to go shopping with me and Swampert, maaybe get some lunch and catch up?" he asked. Key didn't know how to act around Kay now, he use to be good around girls, but every since he evolved from child to adolescents to adult hood he found himself more shy around gorgeous females, not to mention Kay was one of his best friends.

Key pointed towards Lumoise Tower, "We were going cloths shopping for me and items as well" he said, Key held his hand out towards her, he hoped she at least grab it to help her off the ground.

Kay looked up and smiled brightly. She took his hand and hoisted herself off of the ground. “I can't think of anything better.” She noticed how his face had grown slightly red, and hers did as well. He had definitely grown to be a highly attractive man. She had the thought that she was slowly falling back into crushing on him. She also had the thought that she still had her hand in his. Her ears grew red with her cheeks as she carefully took her hand from his and shoved it in her jean pocket. “So, ah, shall we?” Kay asked quickly?

Her heart was pounding in her brain. She felt the same way as when she did around Key as a child. Nervous, flushed, and flustered. However, when Key had pointed to the tower, she felt a little nauseous. She didn't want him to see her hesitate though, so she had quickly covered up her doubts with a smile. “I was thinking of adding more charms to my bracelet anyways, so this is convenient.” Kay raised her wrist with the bracelet to reveal tons more of the little charms she got from Key however many years ago. She has only started with a few, but had then collected just about every charm she would see to put on the sliver chain. Kay put her hand down into her pocket, so she stood in front of him with both hands concealed.

“Come on, you Slowpoke,” she laughed as she had already turned and began walking away. However, she let her happy expression fall slightly when she wasn't facing him. Her eyes had grown large with uncomfortableness as she grew closer to the tower, taking smaller steps than she normally would.

Key smiled and walked after Kay, she became stronger since the last time he saw her. He held Swampert's Pokeball out "come on buddy, back in you go". Swampert gave him a dim look and yelled out, Swaaaaaam he replied back as the red beam swallowed him into the ball. Once Key had Swampert back in the ball, he ran up beside Kay and smiled. "So how'd you end up back here?" he asked. He stopped before they walked out into the street, you never know who can come around the corner when crossing the road. Once it was clear he urged Kay across with him. He grabbed his arm and swung around and begun to walk backwards to look at her.

Key kept his eyes on her, he had accidently bumped into a man and his lady. "Hey watch were your going kid!" he said angrily towards Key. Key looked at him with a blank stare and smiled after a few seconds with his hand behind his head. "Hey! sorry old guy I didn't mean too" he replied, Key grabbed Kay's hand quickly and suggestively hurried them across the street before he stopped. "Haha I didn't wanna get into a fight" Key said. He's been in plenty of fights with knuckle headed men before he arrived here, and he was suppose to be on vacation so he didn't want to get into another one especially around Kay.

Key looked around, they had stopped in front of the entrance of the plaza.

When Key had asked her how she ended up in Lumiose, she gave a weak smile. “Oh, it was just a call from some scientists,” she lied. She didn't want to dampen the mood with her real reason of coming to Lumiose. For now, she just wanted to be happy with her best friend.

When they arrived at the crosswalk, Key had turned around to watch her as she walked in the lines. However, he must not of seen the couple walking by them as he had bumped into the man. Immediately, Kay felt a little nervous as the man had gotten upset with Key. She did feel relieved, though, when Key apologized and rushed with her across the street. Then, Key had told her that he didn't want to get into a fight, and Kay certainly didn't want him too either. She, too, had encountered a few fights before, some she was in, some she was not. Kay still preferred to stay away from any arguments that could potentially turn into something more.

The two arrived at the main entrance to the plaza, and Kay quietly gulped, hoping not to attract Key's attention. “Well, uh, we're here!” She tried to speak normally, but she sounded more awkward than anything. Her hand tightened on the bag around her shoulder, the one with the jingling charms on it. She looked at her hand, then Key, and then to entry to the plaza. She took a deep breath internally. But externally, she tried to play cool as they walked together to go inside.
