The typical hustle and bustle of Sinnoh's Canalave City was just as familiar as residents and tourists alike knew about. The seaside city, while nowhere near as technological as Sunyshore, was well known for making you look back into the past or even outwards towards whatever your future was going to hold for you. Combine that with all sorts of myths regarding Legendary Pokémon and a thriving mining industry, and you had yourself a wonderful place to live if that ticked some boxes.
Canalave's typical coal freighter wasn't exactly taking off today, as another ship seemed to have filled its place. A couple of student-aged teenagers had gotten off of the boat and greeted some close friends and family, a few Pokémon and a woman atop the ship waving them off. That particular batch was for the prestigious Adrift Arts Academy's winter class that cruised the coast of Kalos and focused on more intense training.
But now things were different. Except in a blissful, wonderful way.
The summer semester started the same day the winter one ended, but lasted only two months compared to the rather gruelling five the winter semester students had to deal with. But it was never a hassle as by the end of however long the semester was, the students aboard went on to do great things with their lives. And this year would surely be no exception, of that the counsellor was confident.
The boat itself was open to go on as long as the student scanned their entry ticket on a scanner just at the ship's entrance, and said tickets would have come enclosed with their acceptance letters.
One such student had already boarded the boat quietly, immediately heading up to the top deck to not get distracted by the facilities of the massive S.S Hullheart. Such size had almost made her not even notice it was the school's signature ship until she had seen the signature cobalt ribbon marking on the ship's side. The top deck seemed to serve as a lounge itself, with a small arena like area just behind the top deck's entrance.
Guess there was no kidding when it came to the whole 'high seas performance academy' deal... the counsellor would probably explain more when everyone else got here. And speaking of said counsellor, she was very fast to approach this first student who had arrived.
"Oh, hey there! Marina, right?"
"AH! You... you didn't have to..."
"Whoa, whoa, sorry. Didn't mean to startle you."
"I-It's fine... when will the Partner Trial...?"
"When everyone else gets aboard. Only fair after all."
The words had drifted over the air like a breeze as the ship remained stagnant, simply waiting for all who were to arrive...
