Title is pretty much self explanatory. This is a normal role play in johto and it's meant to help people improve their roleplaying skills. Anyways, just read the regular rules and try to follow them as best as you can. 1 shiny max- no legendaries or pseudo legendaries- ask staff for mega evolutions- try to be in equal level with everyone- don't dodge every attack- ask me for lab starters that you don't begin with. Those are the rules for this roleplay.

Cal just finished waking up and he was very excited for today. It was his eleventh birthday and he was going to get a Pokemon. After quickly brushing his teeth and getting dressed, Cal went downstairs. "Happy Birthday Callum!" his parents shouted simultaneously. Cal smiled and asked,"I'm about to get my first Pokemon today, what else should I get from home?" His mother grabbed a backpack and his father grabbed a bag. "We bought you a new backpack for your journey and we also got you some presents to put in your backpack!" his mother said excitedly. Cal took his gifts and began heading outside while he said,"Thanks for everything. I'll call you soon!" After leaving his home he got on his bike and started heading to Professor Elm's laboratory.

Name: Hysan Dax

Age: 11
Personality: (optional but recommended) Moody, Dark
Backstory: (optional) Hysan comes from a horrible family, who treats him like trash. He has been beaten many times and he can't wait to leave home
Pokemon: (max 1 because we are all just starting in our journey) None currently
Appearance: Black, ripped skinny jeans, white shirt with an X on it, blue Converse, a black sweater. He has a red eye from heterochromia from his mother, and a blue eye. The blue eye is covered by his jet black hair, and he has pale skin. He is very lean.

Hysan woke up on the wood floor of his room. Overnight, his mother took away his small comfort, a sleeping bag. It was his eleventh birthday. He crept out of his window and ran to Professor Elm's laboratory, thankful that he was free of his cruel family. His pale skin felt a relief against the warm sun of the Johto region. He soon arrived at Professor Elm's laboratory.

Name: Sarah Galaxy
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Personality: Kind, but sad half of the time. She waits quietly for people to come back when they're busy doing something. She's shy and timid. But also mature.
Backstory: Sarah's parents own a large department store in Sinnoh, and therefore have tons of money, and own a large home in Snowpoint City. Her parents spend money on her, a lot. They even caught her favorite Pokémon. This was often upsetting to Sarah, so she called Professor Elm, and asked if it was ok for her to receive a pokedex and go on an adventure around the Johto Region.
Her parents found out about it and bought an "ok" house in Cherrygrove City for her.
Pokemon: Currently none, as of the start of the roleplay.
Appearance: She has dark green hair that she dyed, and usually wears a purple-ish jacket and jeans.
------
Sarah woke up in her house, in a sleeping bag. She was in Cherrygrove City, barely unpacked, and looked at her alarm clock. She was late! "Shoot!" yelled Sarah. She got dressed, and ran through the route to get to the lab. She saw a boy walking towards the lab, and rushed right past him to get inside the lab, sweating. She opened the door to the lab and said "I'm *pant* here!", exhausted.

Ace slowly aroused from his lengthy slumber, as he got off from his array of mushy pillows after his eyes adjusted to the dim light bulb faintly giving out its last joules. He glanced over at the man in the hallway that appeared to be inert for at least the last hours of yesterday, as there was a sidearm-like device on the man's cold hands that weakly held it. There were a few cartridges and batteries scattered around the man, as Ace quietly grabbed his satchel that lied next to his stack of pillows. Knowing that the man was not going to respond to even the loudest of his cries, he picked up the peculiar gadget and neatly placed all of the reserve cartridges and batteries in his rather comfortable satchel with haste.

He heard some rushing footsteps, as he saw a bright beam of light gleaming towards the wall that was parallel to his location. He silently kicked open the ventilation grating and went out of the building via the ventilation shafts that he seemed to know his way around. He did not seem to mind the cool, misty air harshly blowing through the entire shaft, as he slid down the sloped section and made his way to the outer world.

After kicking down the other ventilation grating that attempted to block his way from the external world, he noiselessly jogged towards the Laboratory after taking a brief break to read the note that he kept in his satchel in a precious manner. He performed a quick check to make sure that the gadget was loaded and in working functionality, as he kept it held in his cool hands. He continued to keep a silent pace after noticing some other trainers that also seemed to be headed in his general direction, as he continued to make his way towards the Laboratory.

He headed inside and saw the professor waving his hand and another boy standing in the room as well.
"Good morning, Professor Elm. I'm here to pick up my Pokémon. How are you doing today?" he asked.
"Yes, also that reminds me, happy birthday Callum. You and some other trainers are to get your first Pokémon today and begin your journey! How exciting! As for how I'm doing, thank you for asking, I'm quite fine. Anyways, on to your Pokémon," Prof. Elm said. A table near him went towards the floor and returned with the three red and white capsules, Pokéballs. Then, Sarah entered the room.
"Why hello there Sarah, happy birthday. You're just in time. Callum, here are one of the two other beginning trainers. The other one being that boy over there called Hysan, I believe. Anyways, I was just about to explain the capsules on the table near me. Here are the starters of the Johto region. Inside the Pokéball on the left is the leaf Pokémon, Chikorita. In the middle is the Fire Mouse Pokémon, Cyndaquil. Finally, on the right side is the Big Jaw Pokémon, Totodile," Prof. Elm explained.
"Just as I heard last night on TV. Thanks for explaining once more Professor. I think I'll choose, Cyndaquil!" Cal exclaimed while taking the middle Pokéball. Out of the capsule popped out a mostly navy blue, bipedal, line eyes, adorable creature.
"It's so amazing! Would you like the name Magma?" Cal asked. Magma thought about it for a couple seconds and then nodded.

Hysan entered Professor Elm's lab. "Ah, hello, Hysan! This is Sarah and Callum." "Whatever, I'll go with Totodile, just give it to me." Hysan was really not in the mood to talk. He got his Totodile. He put a black bandanna on it's head, and it looked cool on Totodile. "I'll name you Jaws," Hysan said. Totodile winked at him and refused to go in his Pokeball. "Okay," Hysan said. He then walked out of the lab, a dark mood surrounding him. He decided to go to the nearest route to train his Pokemon.

Sarah cursed under her breath. She had always wanted Cyndaquil from the start. "Do you have anything else, Professor Elm?" asked Sarah. Professor Elm took a Poke Ball from his pocket, and handed it to Sarah. "This is Panpour.. Take good care of it." said Professor Elm. He then said, "Follow me, Sarah, and Callum. I'm going to show you how to catch Pokemon!" while walking out, and probably onto the next route. Sarah heard her phone ding, and it was her mom. The text said "Are you ok after that long trip?" Sarah responded to the text by writing "Yeah, I'm fine." then sent the text. She walked out of the lab, and to the next route, thinking 'This isn't gonna be hard.' She saw Professor Elm and waited for Callum.

Hysan watched Sarah and Callum go to the route he was in, and he also saw the professor with them. "Tsk, tsk," He muttered. "They'll never learn if they don't do it themselves." Maybe they will, a voice whispered in his head. "Maybe, but then, I have a few Pokeballs and some good money from stealing from my family." Don't go to them, wait till later. "Sure," Hysan muttered. He trained Jaws a bit, and he decided to lay down on the grass for some long awaited sun basking.

Ace silently walked into the Laboratory after getting there within a few more minutes of walking, as he noticed several other trainers had gotten their own Pokémon. He quietly walked past the other trainers hopefully unnoticed by anyone, as he tiptoed over to the Porygon working on his computer and whispered, "Hey, I'm here... El lagarto pasa."

"So, it's really you isn't it Ace? I was expecting you a little later... here, just take it. I have no use for these kinds of things anyhow. Might want to get out of here since there's a lot more people than usual. I'm sure that you're gonna attract some attention if they see someone like you around," The Porygon quietly stated in his response.

"Fine, I guess I'll try to not to trip over something like last time," Ace replied. The Porygon waved after he gave him the requested vial of greenish liquid in its current state of being dormant, as Ace attempted to walk out of the Laboratory as noiselessly as he could. Unfortunately, he bumped into a table next to the Porygon, as he barely caught the test tube that would have cracked into hundreds of microscopic pieces had he done nothing about it. He swiftly ran for the door knowing that the noise would have at least caught some attention after placing the test tube back into its respective rack.

The Porygon gave a light sigh and attempted to conceal a giggle after seeing Ace almost tripping over a stray wire left out near the entrance of the Laboratory. He noticed that Ace was attempting to reach for the door's handle in a desperate attempt to open it, as he knew that the handle was beyond his reach since there were no nearby objects to aid him unlike the bushes outside. He fully shifted his focus back to his work after a few moments, as Ace hid behind some crates near the door and readied his device.

Name: Elliot
Gender: Male
Age: 13
Personality: Fun-Loving, Enthusiastic, Cocky after winning, and friendly
Backstory: Elliot was the smartest kid in his class, and was ready to start his journey when he was 10, but his mom got sick and he had to stay with her until she died 1 month before his 13th birthday. Professor Elm decided that Elliot should still be able to get a starter and so he was given one on his birthday. Little did he know, it was the Pokemon that none of the trainers who had went to pick up starters had picked. ( Callum, Sarah, and Hysan)
Pokemon: Chikorita
Appearance: Red Pullover with blue jeans and a red pokeball hat (like Ash's first hat.)

Elliot was walking down Route 29 with his Chikorita. He had just left on his journey. He realized that he should scan his brand new pokemon with his Pokedex. He pulled out the Pokedex, and opened it.

" Hello, I'm Dexter registered to Elliot. He is 13 years old and a registered trainer by Professor Elm." Elliot then pointed it towards Chikorita. "Chikorita, the grass type pokemon. A sweet aroma gently wafts from the leave on its head. It is docile and loves to soak up the sun's ray. It is level 14 and knows the moves: Tackle, Razor Leaf, Synthesis, and Toxic."

' Interesting ' Elliot thought to himself. ' Chikorita is a high level to be a starter pokemon, and how does it know Toxic?...' He was submerged deep in thought until he came to a relization ' It couldn't be, did Elm give him a Pokemon that already had a trainer? I'll have to ask him about this when I see him... ' Elliot kept to himself as he and his brand new Chikorita walked down Route 29, until he tripped.

"Oof!" Elliot groaned. Elliot looked back to see what had tripped him, and it was a Pidgey, that looked pissed. " Go Chikorita!" Elliot yelled. " Let's start things off with a Tackle attack!" Chikorita charged forward and smashed into the Pidgey. The Pidgey struggled to get up until a white glow enveloped it. " No way..." Elliot murmured to himself. He was sure it was evolving. He had watched videos of this in class but was excited to see it in real life.

" Otto Pidge" Pidgeotto squawked out. " Chik Chikorita" Chikorita replied. ' Are they challenging each other? ' Elliot thought to himself. The Pidgeotto charged forward with a Tackle however, it quickly stopped and fired up a Gust.

" Chikorita charge through with Tackle!" Chikorita followed the command it received quite a bit of damage from the gust but managed to put out an extremely strong tackle to knock out the Pidgeotto. " Pokeball, Go! " 1 shake. 2 shakes. 3 shakes. PING ! ' I caught my first pokemon! ' Elliot did a little jig, he was so excited. He pulled out his pokedex to scan his new pokemon.

" Pidgeotto the normal and flying type pokemon, It slowly flies in a circular pattern, all the while keeping a sharp watch for its pray." Dexter stated quite matter-of-factly. " It is level 8 and knows Gust, Tackle, and Sand Attack."

Elliot began to think to himself, ' I don't think my journey could have started better.' But little did he know it would get much better when he met some friends who had also gotten starters.

Hysan got up and began to go to New Bark Town. Before he got there, though, he found a Hoothoot. "Hmm, never seen this one before," Hysan said. "Alright, let's go, Jaws!" Jaws ran up to the Hoothoot and used bite. The Hoothoot was weak after this hit, and Hysan threw a Pokeball at it. Click. Click. Click. DING! Hysan captured Hoothoot. "Alright, I think I'll rename you Hedwig, sound good?" "Hoot!" Hedwig cried. Hysan soon arrived at Cherrygrove City, and scanned both his Pokemon. 'Totodile, the Big Jaw Pokemon. This Pokemon is level 9 and knows: Water Gun, Rage, Bite, and Tackle.' 'Hoothoot, the Owl Pokemon. This Pokemon is level 10 and knows: Confusion, Gust, and Peck.' "Well, sounds good to me," Hysan said. He went to heal his Pokemon and went to explore the town, free of his cooped up little room. His only comfort from home was that he could read Pokemon books and learn how to capture and heal Pokemon.

"Alright so I'll explain. T–" Professor Elm stopped when he realized he hadn't given Callum and Sarah a Pokedex. "Oh goodness! I nearly forgot!" said Professor Elm, going back into the lab and getting two Pokedexes. He handed one to Callum, and one to Sarah. "So, when you catch Pokémon, they'll be registered to your Pokédex for you. You can usually find lots in the tall grass here." explained Professor Elm. He stepped in the tall grass, grabbed one of the Poké Balls in his pocket. And then he sent out a Pidgey. " Remember the simple type matchups that I should've told you about. Fire is good against grass, grass is good against water, and water's good against fire."
His pidgey started fighting another Pidgey. "To catch a Pokémon, lower the health of it, until you think it's good to catch. Then throw a Poké Ball at it. Does that make sense?" explained Professor Elm. Sarah kept thinking 'I know all of this. I also wish I could get home, watch Personality Assessment and Horoscope, then get out of here.' Professor Elm gave her and Callum some Poké Balls, and as soon as they were placed in Sarah's hands, she ran down Route 29. "No! Don't go!" yelled Professor Elm, having more to explain. She stopped when she saw a boy with a Chikorita and a Pidgeotto. Sarah said "Hold on, I'll be right *pant* back." She walked to a different part of Route 29, saw a Ledyba, and of course threw a Poké Ball. It didn't catch it, so Sarah sent out Panpour, and got Panpour to shoot water at the Ledyba. Then she threw a Poke Ball at the very unhappy Ledyba. It shook three times, then she heard a Click! She knew she had caught it, once she heard the click of the Poke Ball. She then returned to the boy with the Chikorita, and said "Sorry. I see you got Chikorita. I got Panpour because the other two pokemon got taken..."

Cal was a bit surprised that Prof. Elm had another Pokémon but just shrugged. He went outside and decided to wait patiently as the professor was teaching them how to catch Pokémon. Even though he knew all the steps he decided to be polite and he listened to what the professor had to say. When Sarah ran off he shrugged once more since he knew most trainers already knew stuff like this.
"She just wants to begin his journey already," Cal explained. "I also want to begin my journey, so can I go as well? Of course if you have nothing else that you really had to say," he added.

"Well, I understand but I wanted to- nevermind, have fun on your journey and good luck!" Prof. Elm replied as he began heading back to his laboratory. Cal headed in the direction Sarah went and saw her talking to someone he overheard as "Elliot."

Deciding to continue his journey without interruptions, he continued onto the route and eventually to Route 29. There he saw a strange looking plant, dancing, or so Cal thought. After going near the plant, he realized it was a Bellsprout.

Alright, I'm gonna catch my first Pokémon!

"Go Magma!" Cal shouted excitedly. Magma jumped from behind and onto the Bellsprout's face. Scared, the Bellsprout went in circles until it bumped into a tree. Magma got off of the Bellsprout to avoid taking damage, and then the Bellsprout began running away!

"Don't let it escape! Use Ember!" Cal commanded. Magma began gathering fuel in it's stomach, and then released several fireball like pellets onto the Bellsprout's face, causing an explosion.

After the smoke was cleared, Cal saw two dizzy eyes on Bellsprout, signalling it was defeated.

"Now, go Pokéball!" he yelled as one of the capsules Prof. Elm gave him was thrown into the air, and landed on the Bellsprout. The Pokémon turned into a red flash of light in the capsule which is now shaking. One... two... three... ting! Bellsprout had been caught!

"Yes! Great job, Magma! I caught my first Pokémon! Come on out Bellsprout!" Cal shouted as he released the Pokéball which held the newly caught Pokémon. After a brief white flash of light, the Pokémon appeared next to Magma.

Cal, grinning, began making his way to Cherrygrove City, so he can heal his Pokémon and buy materials to prepare himself for the journey to his first gym badge, Magma and the Bellsprout following their trainer close behind. Little did the trio know, there was a gleaming small pair of eyes, hiding in the bushes...

-------

Meanwhile in the lab...

Prof. Elm screamed in terror as he saw one of his test tubes shattered. Normally, he would've just cleaned up the mess and experimented again with another test tube. But normally, he is the one that shatters the tubes. In a panic, the professor called the local police to investigate, since he thought there was a thief in the laboratory. And that, he thought, would really lead into disaster.

Hysan decided to train more. He went out to the route and he trained Jaws to what Dexter said as level 13, and Hoothoot to level 13 as well. He soon found the new trainers, Callum and Sarah, as well as a trainer he never saw. "So, the other trainers," Hysan said with a level of sarcasm in his voice. He didn't want to go as far as having anything to do with them, much less talk. He ran back to Cherrygrove and decided to wait for them there. On the way, Jaws got level 14, Dexter said. He decided to wait to see if the other trainers could go as fast as him in their little group.

Ace heard someone screaming in the Laboratory, as he gulped the moment when he heard them calling the boys in blue. The Porygon whispered, "Oh man dude... you're probably a bit wanted now... so might want to get out, just push on it! The door is able to be pushed too, use your brain!"

"Oh umm... right... just pretend that you didn't see me trying to reach up for five minutes," Ace quietly replied. He pushed on the door with some effort, as he fled from the Laboratory; hoping no one other than the Porygon saw him on his way out.

The Porygon continued with his computer work, as he thought, "Maybe this little lizard needs to practice with his hand eye coordination or something since he seems to be dropping things a bit too much..."

While waiting, Hysan explored town and received an Old Rod from a guide. The man wouldn't budge and Hysan was forced to take a tour. It was a short, five-minute tour and Hysan hated every second. He decided to fish and train, but he found nothing. He decided to wait some more, and they didn't show up. He decided to go to the next route to see what was up, when he found something hilarious but also horrific.

As Cal was heading towards Cherrygrove City, the pair of eyes followed him. Weirdly enough, the eyes seemed to be multiplying. It began with one pair, then two, then four, then eight, then over a dozen! Cal saw the sign signaling Cherrygrove City was nearby. He felt a presence, and he turned around to be very scared. There was 2 dozens of Bellsprouts all glaring at him.

"W-what did I do?" he asked while stuttering.

"Bellel-bellsprout out bell! (Why you- you stole one of our brethren!" one of the Bellsprout in the front shouted.

Not understanding, Cal turned to Dexter for an answer.

"Near Route 29 there are a tribe of Bellsprout that perform rituals for their gods," Dexter explained.

That's why they're mad. I must've caught one of their friends.

"Cynda! Quil Cynda! (Leave us alone! Bellsprout is our friend now!)" Magma cried. The little Bellsprout that Cal caught hid behind Magma, scared.

"Sprout! Bellsprout bell el! (Nonsense! He would never betray us!)" the head Bellsprout replied. Magma, annoyed, began gathering fuel and shot fireballs at the tribe. Another explosion occurred, but this time after the smoke ended, the Bellsprout were fine. That's because the head and some others used vines to protect them from the blast.

Cal noticed Hysan near them. "Hey, can you help us!" he shouted over to him.

Hysan saw the dozens of Bellsprout surrounding Callum. He used Dexter, and he said, 'Bellsprout perform rituals for their gods in this forest.' "Oh, so they're after you because you caught one of their friends? THAT is hilarious." Hysan send out Hedwig and waited for Callum to at least have his Cindaquil use a decent attack if some fireballs won't hurt a Bellsprout. "Hedwig, prepare a Gust Attack!" Hysan yelled.

Since Elliot didn't reply, Sarah walked away and quickly got to Cherrygrove City, after some intense training. Eventually her Ledyba unexpectedly evolved into a Ledian, after training her Pokémon for a while. She went to the Poké Mart first thing, and bought more Poké Balls, and a Moomoo Milk as part of a sale that was going on. She stepped in her house and sent out her Pokémon, excited. Panpour loved the place, and Ledian preferred the 2nd floor of the house. She started unpacking furniture; but then she heard someone knocking on the door. She opened the door, and it was a man who looked like a delivery man from Sinnoh. He said "Uh, I've got a delivery for Sarah? Sarah Galaxy?" "Yeah, I'm Sarah Galaxy. Lemme guess: the newest Pokétch?" asked Sarah. She touched her green-ish hair. "Yep, this is the newest and latest Pokétch. Sign here please." replied the delivery man, holding out the paper. She signed it, and took the box with the Pokétch inside her house. Suddenly, Sarah's Ledian flew out of her home and went towards a ton of Bellsprout, using Dizzy Punch on them. Sarah shrugged, and went onto the route to get to Violet City. She knew her Ledian would return.

Elliot had met this Sarah girl who didn't take the Chikorita he was given. He felt himself lucky that he had gotten Chikorita because even though many people didn't like it, he loved it after meeting one on his first day of school. That Sarah girl though... She seemed pretty nice but she talked too much. He wasn't much of a talker. During his mental conversation, he got to Cherrygrove. He already knew about the Pokemon Center and Pokemart, so he didn't pay much attention as a guide directed him to all the places to see in Cherrygrove. Elliot was however intrigued by what he saw out on Route 30. He saw a couple people battling so he left and headed down for those trainers. When he got there one of the kids introduced himself.

" Hi, I'm Youngster Joey and this is my top percentage Rattata!" Elliot frowned. 'This shouldn't even be a challenge' he thought to himself. He silently sent out his Pidgeotto.

"Rattata use quick attack!" Joey yelled out. Elliot now smirked, ' too predictable.'

" Tackle into Gust Pidgeotto" Elliot murmured. He knew that the Rattata couldn't stand one of his new combos, and as fate would have it, it didn't. Elliot's smirk grew even larger.

" Great battle!" Joey yelled. Elliot held out his hand to shake, and Joey did so. " I'm glad we got to battle, hopefully Rattata and I will get better because of this " Joey exclaimed. Elliot just nodded his head in agreement. He kept walking until he saw 2 trainers surrounded by Bellsprout. They looked like they were sure done for, so Elliot sent out both his Chikorita and Pidgeotto and he got ready for battle.

Levels: Chikorita, 10 and Pidgeotto 9

While Callum didn't do anything, Hysan stood there, staring blankly at the horde of Bellsprout while Hedwig readied a gust attack. "Well, Callum, what are you waiting for, an invitation? I'm not! Hedwig, Gust!" Hedwig hit a few Bellsprout, making them faint. He found another trainer smirking with a Chickorita and a Pidgeotto at his side. "No one takes my battles!" Hysan yelled. "Hedwig, use Peck on a few!" Hedwig defeated more Bellsprout, until what looked like the tribe leader remained. This Bellsprout was different colored, and had a crown made of leaves on its head. Hysan smiled. "I'll leave you to the other trainers." Hysan left again for Cherrygrove City and healed Hedwig, as she had taken a few hits during that fight. After healing his Pokemon, Hysan rested on a bench outside the Pokemon Center.

Hysan saw that trainer with the Chikorita walk into the Poke Mart of Cherrygrove City. He went inside and said, "Hey kid, what's your name? I know I saw you when you walked out to the route before this city. I decided to strike up conversations with some other trainers since I don't have the best history." Hysan said all of this while his hoodie was up, and he kept his distance while he waited for a response.

" The name is Elliot" Elliot murmured quietly. He wasn't much of a talker, but he wanted to make a friend, and a powerful one at that. Elliot studied this guy. He seemed dark, but had a dark confidence about him. It was similar to how he had a quite confidence about him. Elliot kind of liked him, but at the same time felt a need to be wary of him.

He had just purchased all his supplies, including Pokeballs, Potions, and Repels, when he heard Hysan ask him, " You want to be rivals?" It was a sudden question, but Elliot already knew his answer. Elliot looked at him and nodded his head. As Elliot walked out, he started to comprehend what just happened. He had made a friend, but at the same time made a rival that would help push him to grow stronger. He was pretty proud of himself.

Sarah, or Sarah Galaxy, watched as Ledian returned, and then Ledian slepted instead of flying. Sarah was happy she had gotten on Route 30; even though Ledian wouldn't behave. She picked up Ledian, and then her Ledian had an absolute fit, while sleeping, which was pretty odd. She let Ledian fall asleep on the ground and trained Panpour. Only a little bit. That way, it would be fair if she challenged Hysan or Callum to a battle. Then she returned to Cherrygrove, and went straight to the Poké Mart, trying to find something to calm Ledian down. She noticed Elliot and Hysan inside, and waved at them. She finished purchasing a few berries, a Potion and ten Poké Balls, along with a few free Premier Balls, and then waited for them to notice.

Stats:
Ledian: Level 18, and not behaving
Panpour: Level 9

Hysan had just asked Elliot to be his rival. 'This is stupid, if he ever wins a battle, he'll be so cocky about it,' Hysan thought to himself. 'Then don't let him win,' A voice in his head said. 'You know I can get you out whenever I want,' Hysan challenged the voice. 'Sorry, just thinking: Overlevel your Pokemon so they don't stand a chance.' 'No, they're Pokemon Trainers, and I am too. Trainers somehow always come through.' It was at this point that Hysan realized that Sarah had shown up and some of the people in the Poke Mart were giving him weird looks. "Well, crap, the Poke Mart thinks I'm crazy," He murmured. He bought some PokeBalls, Potions, and received some free Premier Balls. He bought this with the money he stole from his family, while they forced him to stay home, the Dax family robbed Poke Marts of their money. Hysan stole a good amount of this over the years and now was using it to buy something from a Poke Mart. "Oh, hey, Sarah," Hysan said, as if just noticing her.

' I can't let the loser win any of our battles...' Elliot thought to himself as he walked out of the Pokemon center. ' When he wins won, he'll get all cocky and be a jerk... Plus there is something funky about him.' Elliot was thinking about the direction he wanted to take his team as he walked throughout Cherrygrove. Elliot thought about getting a couple Pokemon, a Caterpie, because it evolved early, so he could get a strong pokemon on his team early. He also thought about Bellsprout, but he already had Chikorita, and then he last thought about a Zubat, but those were notoriously hard to train, so he wasn't sure. Elliot had just made it to Route 30, when he saw Sarah trying to train her Ledian, and it wasn't listening. It sounded like a boy, whose Charizard wouldn't listen to him and it cost him the Indigo League. Elliot smirked and walked up to her to talk.

OOC: anyone who fighted the bellsprout did no damage to them. it's not necessary and besides they are all just innocent plant creatures.

Cal was surprised by the sudden appearances of everyone.

I guess it can't be helped.

When their Pokémon fought the Bellsprout the tribe just dodged the attacks. Then, Cal's Bellsprout went in front of him. "Bell... Sprout bell!(Stop... I said stop!)" he shouted. The tribe members turned to look at him.

"Bell bell, spr bo bell! (I don't wanna stay, I wanna go with Cal!)" he said.

"Bell? Sprout ser bell?! (What? Are you betraying us?!)" the tribe leader asked.

"Be. Bell bell sprout sprout sprout! Bell. (No. But it's time for me to go! Goodbye.)" he answered. The tribe leader was at first in shock, but quickly realized this was what Cal's Bellsprout wanted. As Cal and his Pokémon began leaving, the tribe said their goodbyes.

After reaching Cherrygrove City, Cal sighed of relief.

"Finally, that's business is over with," he said,"Hey are you guys hungry?" All of his Pokémon nodded in response. He bought supplies and food at the Pokémart and saw Sarah. "Hey, how ya doin' Sarah? Wanna battle?" he asked.

"Not really, at least for now. Whenever I ask my Ledian kindly to do something, it throws an absolute fit, and it wails like a boy whose Charizard won't listen to him, and it cost him the whole Indigo League." explained Sarah, embarassed. "Anywho, I'm trying to solve an anagram, and you have to figure out how many words or sentences you can get out of the puzzle. So far I've got Out, Sprout, Route, AND to spell pout to bells. Well, what're we gonna do?" explained Sarah, yet again. She walked out of the Pokémart, and towards her house.

OOC: It's 'fought' also it already said we defeated them, and that is how it will go. This is supposed to build character and make mistakes, not be perfect.

BIC:
Hysan heard Sarah talk about an anagram and how her Ledian wouldn't listen to her. Hysan also saw Callum walk in. "Oh, Callum," Hysan said. "Yeah, so, Elliot and I decided to become rivals, and you need one, too. Maybe, Sarah?" Hysan decided to buy a few more Potions and Pokeballs, and got some Revives. He waited for Callum to respond.

OOC: I said it right. also no matter what you say the bellsprout were never defeated and I told you this before you preceded to defeat them anyways. That's not exactly a mistake.

BIC: "Nah, besides I don't know where she currently is. I'm gonna go to Violet City, cya," Cal responded as he started heading towards the exit. He was about to head to the next route, when an elderly man stopped him.

"Hey there youngster. Do you have one of those Pokétch thing-a-ma-jigs?" the man asked.

"Yes, I got one for my birthday," Cal answered.

"Well, you see, there's this extra feature you can buy that gives you a map of the entire region! I got one for free after I won it in the lottery, but I don't have much use for it. I'm too old to have an adventure, and besides, I don't even have a Pokétch! So here take it," the man told Cal while handing him over a chip. Cal took the chip and inserted into a hole in the Pokétch that seems to fit it just perfectly. Like entering a CD. It went inside and the Pokétch started buzzing and making weird sounds. After some minutes, it stopped make noises and Cal turned it on. It appeared to have a new page and once Cal clicked on it, a digital map of the region appeared.

"Thanks! I know this will be super useful on my adventure," Cal said while smiling.

"You're quite welcome. Oh and take this. It's my old fishing rod that my father gave me when I was about your age. I like to fish every now and then, but I don't even catch anything. Plus, it hurts my back, so I might as well give it to you," the old man said. Cal took the rod and waved goodbye as he set foot on Route 30.

On Elliot's way out of Cherrygrove, he saw an Old Man laying on his back by the beach. The sun was starting to set, and the sky was orange. He walked over, and helped the man up. The man said " Thanks, my old bones don't work as well anymore. As thanks, here's my town map... Just kidding, it's a map card, just load it into a Poke Gear" the old man chuckled. " Also, here's my old rod, you can catch some great pokemon with this. " The old man said sarcastically. Both Elliot, and the Old Man knew that you could basically only get Magikarp with Old Rod's.

" Thanks " Elliot said, and with a wave, he turned around and headed out for Route 30 once more. He saw Callum, and he had heard from Hysan that he, Callum, and Sarah might become rivals. It was interesting, but none the less, even if they weren't rivals, Elliot wanted to battle all of them, because they would make him stronger, and that was his goal, to be the best, and to be the best, you have to beat the best. Elliot walked onto Route 30, he saw lots of different Pokemon, including Weedles, Sentrets, Pidgeys, Rattatas, and Caterpies. IT was a beautiful scene at dusk. He had thought about catching a Caterpie, so he could have a strong, fully evolved pokemon before Falkner, but he didn't want Caterpie when he got farther into his journey, so he decided against it. He walked past a house with an Apricorn tree in its yard. Elliot had heard about Apricorns, and everything that could be done with them, but he knew that you would have to use them quickly, or else they would go bad, and there wasn't anything he could do in the area with them, so he passed up on them. He kept walking, past Mr. Pokemon's house to Dark Cave, where he entered to train his Chikorita and Pidgeotto in battling in the dark.

Levels (Remember this is a rough estimate of the ability of the pokemon): Chikorita 14 and Pidgeotto 10

Tristan sighed as he closed the door behind him and looked down at Chimchar. He left his parents a note, but he could imagine their expressions- they didn't want him to do this, didn't want him to leave. Tristan huffed before hoisting his backpack high onto his shoulders, he then began to walk. It was a slowpace at first, even Chimchar looked unsure about this but Tristan shook his head a and a determined blaze crossed his vision. "Beat ya to Route 30!" he grinned before running ahead of Chimchar leaving the pokemon to laugh and chase after his trainer. As Tristan ran he passed by buildings he didn't plan on seeing for a while and let out a sigh.

Tristan giggled as he looked behind him to make sure Chimchar was keeping up, while distracted he tripped over a stone. After falling forwards, Tristan groaned and rubbed his elbows- it gave time for Chimchar to catch up and tackle the boy. "Hey." he smiled and patted Chimchar before noticing a figure in the distance. "What a way to start our journey." he smirked and stood up, after walking as cooly as he could muster he grinned, "Hiya! Let's battle." he said enthusiastically.

Cal had been walking down the path of the route when he heard someone say,"Let's battle." He turned around and smiled at the other trainer ,now, in front of him.

Alright, time for my first trainer battle!

"OK. Oh, I forgot to say my name. I'm Cal, and here are my friends, Magma and Bellsprout," he responded pointing to his two Pokémon. "Would a one on one be ok?"

Magma was looking strangely at Chimchar. "Cyn Cyndaquil quil. Cynda cyn? (I haven't seen you before. Where are you from?)" Magma asked. Bellsprout blinked at Chimchar and Tristan, but stayed close to Cal, scared of Chimchar's tail.

Tristan's grin grew wider, "I'm Tristan, and I've only got Chimchar so a one on one is perfect!" he exclaimed.
Chimchar cocked his head at the Cyndaquill, "Chimchar Chim, Chimchar. Chimchar char." (I live right down in New Bark Town. But my trainer an I aren't home often) he shrugged.
"Come on Chimchar!" Tristan called and at that Chimchar hopped onto his shoulder then down to their make-shift battle field.

"Nice to meet you, Tristan, Chimchar. A battle in the middle of a route huh? Adventure's are so much fun. Now, if he's using a fire type, Bellsprout would definitely NOT be a good opponent since grass is weak to fire," Cal said. Bellsprout nodded in approval and of relief he won't fight Chimchar.

"Then, I guess you're up Magma!" Cal shouted. Magma jumped on the battlefield and got into position.

"Alright, Magma. Use Leer and keep an eye out for any attacks, got it?" Cal asked. Magma nodded in response.

The flame on Chimchar's tail grew brighter with his excitement as he to picked a stance. "Alright Chimchar let's start with scratch!" Tristan yelled and extended his finger to Cyndaquill. Then with extreme agility, Chimchar ran up and brought his hand down towards Cyndaquill's face.

Stats-
Chimchar- Level 13

Chimchar's attack hit Magma square in the face, which hurt Magma.

If Chimchar is that fast, then there's a couple of things I can do to beat it. I could use Ember and hope for a burn, but it's too low of a chance. In that case...

"Magma, use rock tomb and agility and make some barriers. Also, keep on using Take Down to hit Chimchar," Cal said calmly. At first, Magma had no idea what to do, since he didn't know any of those moves. Then, he put the pieces together. Through the idea of improvising and the area, he figured out a strange way to do what Cal said, and knowing his strange ways, Magma thought what he was going to do will be accurate. He jumped on one of the rocks near him and then another while using Smokescreen which causes him to pick up momentum and also prevents Chimchar from seeing him. When he goes around the arena the smoke also spreads faster. He began getting used to where the rocks were and decided it was time for him to stop using Smokescreen and start using "Take Down." Magma knew Cal knew he doesn't know the move, so he uses the best next thing. Tackle. He keeps on getting faster and striking Chimchar. Immediately after he strikes, he goes to the next rock and strikes again. The process keeps on repeating, but Magma doesn't really know if he's striking hits. He himself can't see that well in the smoke, and can just somewhat remember where Chimchar is before the smoke. Sometimes he feels like touching something, other times he just went through the air. Eventually, the smoke began to cease and Magma stopped jumping.

"WOW! Thats ten times more effective than what I thought of! Did Elm give me some sort of genius Cyndaquil?" he asked aloud.

Tristan stared wide-eyed at the strategy, and the variety of moves the cyndaquill knew. He was rather impressed with Cal's thinking, but strategy never was Tristan's strong suite- he simply had a different way of battling. "You hanging on!" he finally yelled to Chimchar who weakly replied, though as the smoke cleared it became obviously only some of Cyndaquills attacks hit their target. "Alright Chimchar ember!" it may have sounded like an incomplete attack with no purpose, but every attack has a purpose if you use it right. With that Chimchar took a big breath before shooting several embers consecutively, he didn't stop for breaths or recharges he hardly even aimed but with the amount of flames that were hurled t the cyndaquill it was certain that something had to hit. By the time Chimchar had stopped with the ember Tristan shout out another command, "Scratch hurry!" and Chimchar launched himself at his opponent with outstretched hands.

At least have of the flames hit Magma, but none did too extraordinary damage. The attacks did a small explosion and after the smoke of the explosion left, Chimchar was rushing towards Magma. Cal's eyes widened, but he trusted that Magma would be able to somehow respond to the attack.

I'm still his trainer, so I have to...

"Magma remember our first command?" he shouted. Magma nodded and leered at Chimchar when he was only a few feet away. Then he jumped into the air and began heading for Chimchar while using Tackle.
