So this Rp is closed as it already has 4 members including myself but for anybody who decides to take a look at this anyway all the Pokémon battles of major importance, so gym battles or those against fellow Roleplayers will be done in Pokémon showdown before hand to decide a winner. I will be acting as every NPC.
Aikvo Region
The region of Aikvo is considered by many to be the origin of all life on the planet. Way back when the dinosaurs were still kicking around the region experienced an event that rapidly caused it to freeze over, sadly destroying all the life that had been there. But as always nature slowly took its course and life began to flourish again, the new icy climate was perfect for some of the world’s new arrivals and Pokémon such as Mamoswine thrived in Aikvo. Fast forward to the present day and the land has changed once more. To the north the freezing climate still looms, an expanse of tundra and evergreen forests that hide many mineral deposits and remnants of the past. Dividing the ice and snow from human civilisation is Mt Yauwn, a towering dormant volcano that had stood tall and proud for millions of years. Beyond this science has allowed humans to live in relative peace, sheltered from the regions harsh climate. Monolithic weather control stations form a perimeter around the various towns and cities, projecting a sphere of influence that creates micro climates to suit many different species. Think of Aikvo as the world’s biggest nature reserve, thanks to its unique conditions it has been used to cultivate the growth of many rare Pokémon as naturally as possible. Pokémon that had almost gone extinct such as Lapras have made massive comebacks and now litter the region. Over recent years many trainers have found themselves exploring this unique region in the hopes of collecting rare species for their teams and beating the gyms and league that reside here. You are one of these trainers of course so enjoy yourself!
Important places (In order of where you’ll start and to where you will finish.)
Paeleo town- Where new trainers start their adventures, this particular town is renowned for its mining and archaeological activities which are run by the gym leader, Flint. There is actually no Pokémon professor to give out starters, instead the R.T.A (Rookie trainer association) building provides a wide variety of Pokémon for newbies. As for the geography of the place it is located right on the shore with massive chalk cliffs extending from either side of it. The buildings manly consist of simple red brick and slate roofs, quite appropriate when you consider what the areas mineral associations. The gym leader himself is a little eccentric, he was once an explorer and now at the age of 35 he still hasn’t lost his love for adventures. He will encourage any trainer to take on the other gyms of Aikvo but due to his position as the boss of the local mining industry he often seems to be in a bit of a rush.
Route 1- full to the brim with eager new trainers and low level Pokémon, this route consists of a winding dirt path with lush fields on either side that harbour many species of plant life. One of the most notable things about this route is its abundance of windmills and charming rural aesthetic that is a refreshing change after the hard stone of Paeleo town.
Aegis cavern- Connected to both Paeleo town and Route 1, Aegis cavern is primarily used for its abundance of minerals and fossils. In here you can find many rock and ground type Pokémon as well as the resident cave dwellers such as Zubat. The deepest caves here are all blocked off due to the fact that people who have gone beyond a certain point are rumoured not to return. The miners have placed lanterns throughout a majority of the cave though so you won’t need a Pokémon with flash to navigate it.
Route 2- After leaving Aegis cavern you will find yourself on Route 2 which follows a river through an area full of massive oak trees. Larger grass type Pokémon roam here but be wary when challenging them as they are likely much too high levelled for you to stand a chance against. Rookie trainers are recommended to only challenge the first and second evolution Pokémon they can find. The waters become deeper as they slowly shift into the swamp that harbours Yeliek town.
Yeliek town- The next stop on any trainer’s journey, Yeliek town was built right in the midst of a swamp. Most of the town’s infrastructure is perched upon metal poles that are driven deep into the murky water below so that the townspeople are safe from the less friendly Pokémon residing in the water. Bug and water type Pokémon are extremely common here and the local mascot is Lotad. Every six months the festival of the Lotad is held, an event in which every towns folk has to go and catch the biggest Lotad they can find, with the biggest being the winner. All the Lotads are released at the end but the winner will be gifted with a massive supply of Poke blocks and be given a special prize. The main source of income here is fishing but many other professions can be found here. Weather control tower 01 can also be located here. The gym leader, a rotund old man who is never without his sombrero, is a jolly guy who actually conducts the festival of the Lotad. When he isn’t at the gym he is surveying the swamp and watching out for poachers who are a common problem in the area. In battle he is just as jolly as ever but he is not to be underestimated.
Wraithfog swamp- After passing through Yeliek town you will find yourself deep in the misty depths of Wraithfog swamp, known for its abundance of grass, water, and ghost type Pokémon. The only real way to traverse this place is via the wooden bridges that are dotted around the place so watch your step, one false move and you could be up to your neck in mud. A little out of the way is the Wraithfog graveyard which wasn’t actually constructed by humans. The odd stone ruins were apparently made by Pokémon long ago. If you can make it through this treacherous terrain you will find yourself in Westwane tunnel which leads straight to Chemos city.
Chemos city- The largest city in Aikvo by far, towering skyscrapers are everywhere and the streets are almost always full to bursting with people. Glass and metal rules this place and the reflections give the sense of it being even bigger than it is. One of the most important landmarks is the Chemos nuclear plant which can be found right in the middle of the city. It’s a one of a kind reactor that actually uses poison types such as Muk to consume all the pollution produced, effectively making it a clean energy source. It also provides power for most of the region. Here we also have the only Pokémon contest hall in Aikvo, so if that’s your thing then here is your chance to shine. The gym leader is a young woman named Emily who is also in charge of keeping all the poison type Pokémon used with the reactor in line. Do not get on her bad side, her nickname back at her trainer school had been “The Cobra”.
Route 3- A short route that begins with Eastend Bridge and ends with the entrance to starlight forest. It’s pretty much just bramble bushes and tall grass, the kind of place you may find things like Pidgey, Zangoose or even Snorlax.
Starlight forest- Welcome one and all to the magic forest of weird stuff. Thanks to its unique tree species, the huffler birch, the whole forest has an odd fantasy vibe to it. These trees glitter slightly day and night and have leaves that look almost like pink clouds. Rolling hills are hidden by the abundance of plant life but upon entering the forest you will find yourself walking up and down more hills than you would belive possible. Fairy and psychic type Pokémon are quite common here, particularly Whimsicott.
Spritly village- After leaving Chemos city via Starlight forest you will come across Spritly village which is located amongst the rolling fields that are used to accommodate the livestock of Aikvo. The people here have a deep respect for nature and so you will find most of the buildings are covered in plant life and are very eco-friendly. This peaceful environment has made it a hotspot for fairy Pokémon and on the darkest of nights Clefairy can be heard playing in the streets. Recently rumours of other creatures of the night scaring the Clefairy away seem to be more prevalent though…
The name of this village’s gym leader is Evinka, a short but loud woman who along with her husband is in charge of the biggest ranch around. She is very motherly and some might say a little too quick to hug people.
Route 4- Someway after Spritly village the dusty old route 4 begins. It’s a dry and arid lane that seems out of place after the lush greenery you’ve just left behind. But worry not it still holds its own little marvels. This whole area is a hot spot for ground and rock type Pokemon so expect to find Geodudes and Roggenrolas amongst the scattered boulders and sparse plant life.
Thunderclap canyon- After leaving route four you can venture down into the depths of Thunderclap canyon. Due to an unexplained natural phenomena this area is practically always hidden away beneath angry looking storm clouds and as such is a hotspot for electric types. Just make sure you don’t get zapped.
The Great Dusty- The only desert in all of Aikvo this huge expanse of sand harbours many ancient relics for trainers to stumble upon. In the very centre of it you can find a massive oasis that had been ever so humbly dubbed The Queen Lake. Rumour has it that at the very bottom of the lake a very powerful Pokémon resides and it will only emerge to seek worthy challengers or deter threats from its home. All the usual desert dwellers can be found here so prepare for everything from Diglett to Drapion. The Iron maze is a jumble of metal ruins that are actually left over from the first pioneers that arrived in Aikvo. When you reach the end of the desert weather Pillar 0 causes the sudden shift to the environment that is Eiclepse city.
Eiclepse city- Eiclepse city is the home of the original weather tower in the region Pillar 0. The monolith towers above the streets but most of the cities inhabitants have grown used to it and feel it gives them a sense of security. The general aesthetic is quite futuristic, neon lights and the Institute of Technological Marvels draws in nerds from all over. A magnetic train zips about the city which makes transporting yourself around this urban maze a lot simpler. The place even has a casino which brings us on to our next gym leader…
Meet Veronica, a 20-something year old woman who is basically the queen of gambling. She started at such a young age that many people made the mistake of underestimating her and have since suffered the consequences. Smart, devious and above all else a master at reading other people Veronica always has an ace up her sleeve. From here you can take a ship from the harbour to the next gym.
Byrah Island- The location of your next gym battle, Byrah Island is situated away from the rest of Aikvo and has a very tropical climate thanks to its own weather pillar number 03. The place is viewed as a sort of holiday resort and many rich people decide to retire here. All the same most of the island is untamed tropical beauty and you will certainly enjoy working on your tan whilst you battle here. The Gym leader is named Moon and essentially he is a hippie. He does also teach the yoga classes on Byrah though. Don’t let his relaxed attitude fool you, he is a tough opponent and won’t be beaten easily.
The Shipyard- A literal graveyard of boats that have fallen to the powerful whirlpools that surround Byrah Island. A coral reef has actually blossomed into life down here though so prepare for all sorts of aquatic life.
Frazen town- After a short boat ride back to the main land you’re going to find yourself in a very different environment to the one you just came from. Frazen town is actually entirely underground, located inside a huge icy cavern at the foot of Mt Yauwn. The town is built around a geological survey site that monitors the dormant volcano. Due to the odd environment both ice and fire type Pokémon can be found relatively close to the town. Most of the home are built right into the rock that makes up the cavern system and it’s not uncommon for each home to be built right beside a hot spring. The gym leader is Santasia and she has been helping Pokémon that get lost in the snow since she was a child. Her icy shell breaks only when dealing with small children or Pokémon so don’t expect any sympathy from her when she’s battling you.
Route 5 – I hope you wrapped up warm because trekking through this icy forest is going to be hellish if not. The giant spruce trees rise up from about 2 feet of snow and only the toughest of trainers will be able to make it through. In the very centre of this route there is a bio dome that contains a mini tropical rainforest that is only here as an effort to preserve jungle dwelling Pokémon in Aikvo as there is no environment like that in the region.
Engiume city- Welcome to the metal heart of Aikvo. This place is known mostly for its extensive metalworking industry that makes things that are then shipped all around the globe. Even the homes look industrial, made primarily from metal and stone. A river of molten metal actually runs through the middle of the city but don’t worry, it’s perfectly safe. The whole river has an almost invisible protective casing around it so nothing can get close except the Slugma that live inside of the stream. Once you get past the whirs of machinery and the almost steampunk aesthetic you will find that Engiume is actually one of the nicest places to live in all of Aikvo. The streets are always well lit, the air is clean thanks to state of the art technology and there are plenty of shops and business to keep anybody entertained. The gym leader here is Knox, younger brother of Flint who you may remember as the first gym leader you will encounter in Aikvo. Knox is the son of Mr Everett who runs the entire metal working industry and the man who used to be the cities gym leader. Knox may be new to the whole gym leader thing but those who face him in battle can assure you that his will is steel and his confidence is as unshakeable as iron.
Player characters.
@Nebula-Newt -
Name: Drake Acker
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Physical Appearance: Fairly tall (5ft 9) and well-built with a mess of dark brown hair. The boy certainly has a lot more strength than he looks like he would possess, but that’s not to say he doesn’t look particularly strong. Drake's eyes are brown unless the sunlight catches them at which point they become a striking golden colour. A small scar stretches from the corner of his mouth giving him the look of somebody always smirking, in the most eerie of ways that is, theres nothing too friendly about a smile that isn’t real. He has white skin that has never really tanned very easily. Overall Drake is a pretty good looking fellow, but not so much so that it becomes one of his defining features.
Clothing: A black hoodie with a bright green icon that resembles the WIFI sign right in the center of it. On his legs he just wears dark blue denim jeans and a pair of green trainers.
Personality: Drake is passionate about battling and will go to any means to strengthen himself and his partners. He looks after his friends and enjoys a bit of friendly rivalry. One of the boy’s biggest problems is that he can be so headstrong that it lands him in trouble, often getting in over his head. A good guy really, Drake is the kind of guy you can always count on to have your back even if it means risking his own.
Backstory: Pretty simple stuff here, Drake comes from the Hoenn region. His Dad works for Devon corp as a fossil expert and over the years it turned out that like father like son Drake was the adventurous type. He trained with Norman for a few years to get the gist of being a trainer and was gifted his first Pokémon, a Gligar, by the normal type gym leader. From there he immediately went for the first ferry to a new region so he could start his adventure.

@CrunchyCucumber -
Name: Alix Windsev
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Height: 5ft 7
Physical Appearance: Alix is a well built gal, filled with a natural round figure that is trimmed down thanks to her being an athlete. Her skin naturally is rather dark, darker than tan, but has paler skin across her back arms, forming oddly formed stripes. (Blaschko's Lines) She also has lighter patches of skin speckling the bottom of her jawline and under her ears, and across her legs. She naturally has pale blonde hair in a pixie cut, causing it to spike up somewhat wildly. Her eyes naturally have a red/brown coloration, and her partial heterochromia only adds to her strange and wild look thanks to there being uneven amounts of light blue within her eyes. She has a somewhat crooked smile, thanks to her canines curving slightly and being a bit larger than usual, and one of her central incisors overlaps the other slightly. Overall, once you get past her rough and tumble look, she actually can seem pretty if she actually tried to look the part, but she doesn't usually unless its for a family photo.
Personality: She isn't hot headed, but she can get passionate easily. She also has a huge competitive streak and usually can't back down from a dare. She actually can be quite humble and has a good grasp on her temper until she either feels betrayed or has her head in the game. She can be a good friend, but her somewhat impulsive behavior always needs to be checked and makes her a bad candidate for secret keeping. She is a protector at heart, and certainly knows how to mellow out and give you a shoulder to cry into. Once you ignore her extroverted tendencies, she is a real sweet-heart and a person you can't really stay mad with, and she always tries to put other's needs before herself. Believe it or not, she actually has stage fright and pretty creeped out by arachnids.
Clothing: Alix wears a simple black ball cap, which has no design on it other than underneath the rim being white. She wears a black tank top, grey torn up shorts, and black and grey all purpose running shoes. She has dog tags around her neck that belonged to her father, and she has a grey hiking backpack.
Biography: Alix grew up in Alola on Poni Island, where the scarcely inhabited wilds offered lots of play in the dirt. As such, she is a great survivalist and no stranger to rough work and getting hurt while doing so. Eventually, her family had gathered enough money to move to Akala, where she then found work on the ranch there to help our her family. Her father found work in Kalos, resulting in another move. Since her father was part of the police force, the Kalos incident involving some weapon that destroyed Geosenge Town also took his life. The now two female family, with the loss of the bulk of their income, were forced to move again. As such, Alix does have a need to be the strong figure of a group, as if to pay homage to her father and prove herself, being a girl from such a small and desolate island.
Pokemon
Nickname: Dahlia
Species: Eevee (I couldn't choose and the randomizer gave me Eevee, we have so many already xD)
Gender: Female
Ability: Run Away
Appearance: In comparison to other Eevees, she is more spiky and scruffy looking. Two fangs stick from her upper lip at the very back of her mouth, but only the tips and it isn't extremely noticeable. Her eyes are also much lighter, and her front paws have white sweatbands on them, the rims on the top and bottom being black and then the white part has a black checker pattern. She has a pair of silver, single lens glasses she loves, but they are too large for her head so Alix carries them until she evolves.
Personality: Dahlia is a speed fiend and a wild child at heart, much like her trainer. She gets extremely loud and patient, but the main difference between her and her trainer is that she is more down to earth, has more patience, and can actually be much more gentle and calm than Alix 80% of the time.
Nickname: Riot
Species: Rockruff
Gender: Genderfluid
Ability: Vital Spirit
Appearance: Average Rockruff, except for a dark patch around their left eye. They don't wear anything, but sometimes they wear bows or other apparel when they feel like it. They have one green eye.
Personality: Very docile, calm, laid back, stoic, basically they have the characteristics of a strong and immovable boulder. This is mostly during the day, at night they become extremely active, cunning, and wild. At night they mostly identify as male, and during the day as well. However, 50% of the time they can identify as female during the day, and only around 10% of the time do they feel like being female at night.
Righto lets get into the actual roleplay!
The sheer white cliffs that surrounded Paleo town may have seemed intimidating to many, their pure size was scary enough, but to Drake they signalled nothing more than the first stop on his new adventure. Enjoying the gentle rocking of the ferry he was on the young trainer smiled as he held on tight to the guard rail, the cold metal actually quite soothing due to how powerfully the sun shone down from the sky. Lucifer, his partner and best friend, seemed just as glad to be here and announced this with an excited "Gliiiigar!" from his position up on Drake's shoulders, tail dangling down the boys back. This gave the odd illusion that he was wearing some kind of fancy cape but this is how the two often rested and over the years it had become comforting to the both of them.
Several minutes later the boat was docking at Paleo town's extensive harbour amidst the many other ships that Drake assumed must have come from all over the world. He hummed cheerfully as took his first step onto dry land in almost an entire day, trying to ignore the fact that his legs felt like jelly after such a long time at sea. This was it, the start of new adventure in Aikvo! And it was here, amongst these buildings of stone and other budding trainers that he would really get his first chance to prove himself worthy of that champion title. And it was with these inspirational thoughts that Drake tripped straight over and went crashing into somebody else in front of him. Lucifer jumped off and glided to a halt a few feet away, cackling like a maniac.
"Glad to see you think this is funny." Drake growled at his partner from the ground before rising to his feet and offering a hand to the person he had knocked down. "Sorry about that, guess I had my head in the clouds. You alright?"

@Nebula-Newt -
Name: Drake Acker

@CrunchyCucumber -
Name: Alix Windsev
