Private/Closed Bootleg Bros. Ultimate - The Sumeragi Campaign

Tracy Rinehart

Right, since she met Bo, it meant that all of his elemental splits had met her. Quake claimed he was still the Boboiboy she knew, but did she really know anything about him? From Thorn and Quake and Bo himself he seemed quite nice, but then there was Blaze and Thunderstorm. How prominent were those parts of him? Tracy smiled back at Quake.
"Thank you." Tracy said. Mr. Hagen was also here, using his special powers to float up and approach the group. The position was so bizarre and strange, Tracy couldn't help but to giggle a little. He gave a run down of the crash site team's mission, which had been a success. One that had a few hiccups of its own. Being attacked by a blue version of V2. Tracy glanced to V2 curiously, looking for any reaction to that information. First the polar bear, and now the blue V2. It was clear Sumeragi had found some otherworldly allies of their own, but it sounded like blue V2 (VBlue, as Tracy could call it for now), didn't have the same hesitation that Bear had.

Kiwi explained how their mission went, and Tracy shook her head. She walked over to Jin, pulling the zip drive from her pocket and handing it to the boy.
"I managed to get some schematics for some of their machines, but honestly, I don't think our mission went very well. I was hoping we could have gotten more." Tracy said. She turned back to the group, leaning on the desk.
"Unless anthropomorphic animal people are normal here, I think the Bear was like us. A traveler from another world." That theory that had been thrown out there, Tracy was surprised how quickly she had accepted it. It seemed like the easiest explanation, at least for now. "Kiwi and I were able to talk to him, and like he said, the Bear seemed sympathetic to our cause. Or us. He didn't say a word, but at least seemed open to communicating."

Tracy looked around at the ruined state of the place they were hiding in.
"Depending on where he showed up, it could be possible he doesn't know everything Sumeragi has done. Or at least, he's only heard their spin on the situation. I'm sure Sumeragi likes to think they're the good guys..."

Tracy continued.
"The Bear was very strong, and pretty fast. Stood a little over five feet, with yellow and white fur. He wore a beanie, a green scarf, boots and gloves, but no other clothes." Tracy said. She thought back to the fight, trying to remember everything she could. "He had the power to manipulate ice. He did things like freeze the doors shut, redirect the ice spikes Penguin Mage fired at him, and create icy shockwaves that could freeze things. But the way he fought, it felt like his ice powers were more of a secondary ability behind his strength and speed. And he was very tough."

Tracy shook her head.
"We had to run. Maybe the three of us together might have been able to stop him, but then there was the problem of the entire factory coming after us." She nodded gratefully to Quake and Frisk. "Thanks for showing up when you did."
She looked to Frisk, then to V2.
"How did your mission go? Did you encounter someone from another world working for Sumeragi as well?" Tracy asked.

Terrence "Salad" Boom
“Phew…”

Terrence could finally exhale- not just a normal exhale, but the sort of breath you only let out when your guard has been up for an extended period of time. He’d grown pretty fond of those exhales, because he was being put in a lot more dangerous situations as of late, and the best part about them was when they ended. Now, he was officially out of ‘combat mode,’ but that meant it was time to enter ‘tired as hell mode.’ That had been a lot- physically, and magically. He needed to sit down with some cucumber salad. There wasn't going to be any here. Damn.

One last push, and the shells were able to get them across the finish line with no issues- the group left the factory behind, and found themselves back at the bank, reunited with some familiar faces (humanoid shapes, in Terrence’s case), and… one that wasn’t so familiar.

“Good to be back,” he smiled, the shell beneath himself and Frisk slowly sinking into the ground before disappearing entirely. He chuckled as Kyota came up to him with his questions, happy to humor the boy.
“Aha, it was nothing too flashy- not up until the end, anyway. We tried to keep a low profile, but to answer your question… yeah, some Sumeragi butt got kicked. And hey, I expect some credit if you happen to see a big ol’ Mantis fall apart in action sometime!” he jested.

It didn’t sound like the Stealth Squad’s allies had had an easy time on their own respective missions. It had never even crossed Terrence’s mind, but… was it possible that himself, Tracy, and Kiwi had actually gotten off easy? Easier than everyone else, at least. That possibility was difficult to fathom, especially with the involvement of that Bark, but…

“Sheesh. Our enemies aren’t making these missions very easy for us… but I’m glad everyone’s still in one piece,” he commented, and nodded along to Tracy’s rundown of their run-in with Bark. “He was an outlier for sure. It’s all… weird, like it’s almost some kinda… game? I mean, I was figuring for a while that some force had brought us here to take down the Sumeragi, but if there are other outsiders here to fight against us… then man, I don’t know what to think…” he frowned, turning toward Frisk- not because he expected her to have an answer, but because, well… he was now hoping she’d be the only familiar face he’d see here. There were quite a few people back home who, quite frankly, they really didn’t need to be dealing with during all of this.

FRISK DREEMURR

—Sapporo Bank, Day 2 Afternoon—

Once they’d made it in the clear, Frisk de-summoned her magic, letting its energy flow back into her. Had she expected to ride a turtle shell out of there? Absolutely not. Did they all probably look ridiculous as they shelled their way through the ruined city? Absolutely.

But she didn’t really care. Mission accomplished, and Terrence was okay. Not like she thought he’d be hurt, or worse, or something but... you know how it is...

Frisk was eager to get off her feat and do some reading, some research, anything she could to focus on brain power over brawn. The day wasn’t over yet, after all, still plenty of time to squeeze in stuff. Plus, she still had to look over all those pictures she took of the QUILL data. Granted, that data was probably almost entirely dated and old news, likely retreading some ground Frisk had already learned since she’d come here.

She missed Katherine’s library. It would take multiple timelines to learn everything there.

Finally, they arrived back at Sapporo Bank to find everyone there. The groups had officially reunited, and Frisk was rather pleased to see that they hadn’t lost a single member. Everyone was okay. Tired, but okay. The teenager was helped to her feet by Terrence as the shells sank into nothingness, Frisk giving a small smirk at his gesture.

She was also pleased to see that V2 remained here as well. She’d had confidence he would be, but... you never really know what goes on in your absence, sometimes. Either Akira could have come back all gung-ho about it, or V2 could have elected to maintain his distance. Neither outcome appeared to have played out.

Mr. Miracle greeted them before shortly going into a tirade about V1. Again. Frisk didn’t really mind, though, some of the others hadn’t heard it yet, and the discussion led from initial greetings and exposition into a question turned toward Frisk and V2. She shared T’s gaze as he looked her way. She knew what he was thinking about. The potential for Messiah members to fight, or worse, their own friends and allies. While Frisk and Terrence had seemingly come from the same timeline (she’d discovered nothing to contradict this assumption yet), there could be others from different timelines. Likely darker ones.

Just as long as Songbird didn’t appear here...

“Yeah,” Frisk returned her attention to Tracy. “We encountered a uh, he was like, aggressively stereotypical for an Italian. Like, the mafia kind. He also had ice powers, like the bear, but it was his main gimmick. I’ve been in really cold places but that guy went like... I dunno, as close to absolute zero as I think you can get. We’re lucky we didn’t just get frozen. His name’s Ghiaccio, he looks kind of like a grandma. A really angry grandma...?”

Hm. She might have messed up there. Frisk couldn’t remember if Ghiaccio had actually said his name or not. It wasn’t as though explaining her CHECK abilities was going to alter people’s opinion of her, she just didn’t want to explain how it worked. It took some hurdles to get behind the logic of it. Especially when mixing Chara into the equation.

“Anyway, I think we’re probably good to sneak our way back to base. We can look at those schematics... I also took some pictures of a bunch of new data to sift through...” Frisk pulled out her phone - and paused. “Oh. Right, I actually forgot, we had another point of interest. Does anybody wanna hit that before we hunker down for the day? Or...”

Boboiboy - Quake

Seeing as there was no combat in the horizon, Quake saw little point in remaining in this from. Adjusting their power watch, they relinquished their control, reverting back to Boboiboy himself in faint orange light. It appeared though there was very little difference in personality shift between Quake and him, like they were more closely intertwined than the rest. Listening to Tracy and then Frisk give a breakdown, he added his two cents.

"That makes all of us then." Bo nodded. "We came across one...maybe even two characters that match that description. One is a similar model of robot to V2 here, this time pit against us."

Seeing as how suspicious could quickly fall to V2 again, he made sure to wave his hands in front of himself defensively after he said those words.

"Don't worry, we cleared him!" He sweated, getting back to the point. "We also came across a new one...calling themselves Magneto. They said they were the king of Genosha. I'm not sure if that's out of this reality or in it, but they are an outside party. A strong one. I feel like we will see him again in the near future."

The next step was rather risky. There was a point of interest and then reassessing what they have now that they were all together. Thinking, he looked over to Frisk.

"I think their forces are alerted to us at this stage. If we go to the final point, we may face way stiffer resistance in retaliation to our actions today. I think we should lay low for a while and strike when they aren't quite are prepared for us. Gives us time to look at the data you brought as well and rest."

Amaterasu
Amaterasu snoozed away, seemingly unconcerned with her surroundings. Though she did lean a little into Maria's petting. Only when the rest of the group returned from their excursion did she lift her head to look at them. Her tail beat the floor a little, but Amaterasu made no other movement to avoid disturbing the girl lying on her. Once she ascertained that everyone was fine, she lowered her head again, listening to the chatter.

V2

The final team returned, after some time. There was exchangement of greetings- Tracy waved at V2, which the machine considered returning, but decided to simply nod instead- before information about each mission was discussed. Miracle explained the presence of V1 to the others, describing it as a lapis-painted clown- fitting, considering the tricks it pulled. Just thinking of their predecessor made V2 angry.

The machine noticed Tracy looking at them, waving. The machine simply nodded back, before Tracy asked about if they had found someone else from another world. Frisk briefly informed Tracy about Ghiaccio, describing him as a human with ice powers, who... looked like a grandma. The machine pulled up recorded footage of the battle...

Not inaccurate.

Boboiboy then mentioned V1 again, briefly re-emphasizing that V2 was "cleared," before explaining the presence of another otherworldly being. Magneto, King of Genosha. Not a place V2 had heard about, and seemingly noone else had heard of it either. Potentially the name of an entire dimension, although quite unlikely.

Regardless, the time came to discuss strategy. Frisk suggested attacking a 4th point, while Boboiboy suggested hunkering down for now. The machine considered for a moment.

"While Boboiboy is correct, Sumeragi readiness will likely only increase the longer we wait, as news of our victories spreads. If we attack now, we will likely be able to catch them before they are able to fully reinforce every position."

The different groups began to mingle once more, exchanging some information on how their missions went and what information they'd managed to get out of them. Kyota nodded in response to Terrence's explanation, pumping a fist in the air. "Heck yeah, bro! I'll totally keep an eye out for any big explosions!"

Kiwi's partially nondescriptive briefing of the mission was followed with an acknowledgement of Kane's presence, the pilot having walked over to the arriving group. "My name is Kane Gardner, Commander of the Sophia Force. I'm one of the... 'civilians' that Miracle mentioned," he replied, his tone betraying that he didn't quite identify with such a designation, though he continued with a slight smile regardless. "It's good to know that everyone's safe and sound."

Jin had arrived at the group's position at that moment, waving at everyone present, before he was approached by Tracy. Accepting the zip drive from the teen, he shook his head in response to her dissatisfaction. "Hey, it's alright. You're all putting yourselves in a lot of danger for our sakes, so anything you managed to get out of them is sure to be useful. I promise to take a look at this as soon as I can."

With that, the general topic had turned to the differing kinds of opposition each team had encountered. An anthropomorphic polar bear, an Italian cryomancer, a sibling machine to V2, and the king of an unknown nation. All vastly different, further suggesting Jin's prior theory about different worlds could be accurate, which was now backed by Kane as the man spoke once more.

"If the dimensional ruptures Jennifer has recently studied are anything to go by, we're dealing with opposition from across the galaxy at the minimum... if not a larger scale entirely."

Aside from that matter, there was also the question of what to do next. One more point of interest remained within reach, another potential target to attack for the day, though it could come with its upsides and downsides.

"I hear what you're both saying," Kohaku said, looking to both Boboiboy and V2 – their contrasting opinions quite possibly caused by the different mindsets of a human and a machine. "It's tough to say what Sumeragi might do next, since they probably haven't had to deal with something like this in a long time... still, something tells me their guard's gonna be up pretty soon already. Dunno if it'll ever get any easier going forward, but it's true that the longer they're left alone, the better they'll be able to prepare."

Feeling eyes on her, the teen looked away for a moment with a sheepish smile.

"Um, what I'm trying to say is their defenses might stay high for a while, so maybe it's better for someone to check that last place out before it gets any worse, y'know? Of course, I don't want anyone to push themselves too hard – it's totally fair if anyone would rather stay home and relax! After all, I think the only other place anyone can tackle right now is the district wall itself, and I'm sure everyone will want to rest up before tackling defenses like those all together."

There was a brief pause, before Kane stepped forward, putting a hand on Kohaku's shoulder. "Regardless of what you all prefer, know that you can count on me for any mission. Just say the word."

Tracy Rinehart

The others explained their own encounters. Ghiaccio, an angry ice guy. Magento, a supposed king. Tracy hadn't heard of Genosha, but what else was new. Tracy tried to make a mental note to ask about more info on him. Terrence commented on it feeling like a game, and Tracy gave him a confused look. He felt like some force had brought them here? Tracy hadn't considered that. But she hadn't really considered much of the 'how' they got here, at least while they had no substantial evidence about... anything.

Frisk mentioned going after their last point of interest. From what Tracy could recall, it was another factory. 'Auto-Fabrication' Kohaku had called it. Tracy looked over herself, and looked to her duel disk. While she felt a little shaken from the earlier battle, overall the duelist felt like she could keep going. The benefits of calling out other people to fight for you. The other members of the group debated what to do, and Tracy joined in.
"I can keep fighting today." Tracy said. "If a group is going to the last point, I can go with them. At the very least, we can go and scout it out before we make a decision. What would be our goal, there? Destroying the factory?"

FRISK DREEMURR

—Sapporo Bank, Day 2 Afternoon—

Honestly, Frisk was about to agree with Boboiboy and call it a day - but V2 made a very valid point, one others agreed with. Leaving Sumeragi alone for the rest of the day would just let them prepare better tomorrow. Energy and motivation was low now for the team, sure, but that last POI would be a lot easier NOW than LATER.

The new guy, Commander Keen—

“Kane,” Chara corrected.

—Was down to head out, as was Tracy. Frisk hadn’t exactly seen either in action, but she felt like it would be better if she went along, despite her need to revitalize mana and energy. Maybe V2 should go too, being a robot, but he probably needed a few repairs (she had no idea what being frozen solid had actually damaged, if anything at all), but then again, Ghiaccio had kinda punked V2 until Frisk and Ammy intervened and made it a 3v1.

She’d just have to go. The teen didn’t trust the plan would go accordingly without her to help.

“Or maybe you just don’t trust them,” Chara hummed nearby.

“If we can,” Frisk nodded to Tracy, reflecting for a moment on what Retribution had done to the data center. Could work again... but a factory sounded like a much bigger target. How much energy would that take? Did she have enough? “I’m going to assume auto-fabrication is all of their common resources and maybe even essentials. Taking that out should hinder them really hard. Honestly, could make setting up a stronger defense tomorrow even harder for them. Destroying that factory...”

She paused. Did any of them have the kind of firepower to pull that off? Maybe they’d need to pick up some proper explosives along the way. She didn’t know how to make any from scrap, and something told her Chara wouldn’t be very helpful in that regard.

...

Huh, no snide remark that time.

“Shut up,” the shaytan replied.

There it was.

It would be a matter probably identical to the start of her earlier mission. Sneak in, find something. Like... support columns, maybe a big machine that could blow up... or something...

Was it exhaustion or just lack of creativity that was leaving her so blank on the matter?

“I guess we just figure out who wants to go, and how we go about destroying the factory. Preferably leveling it, that would be nice, but I guess I can settle for something less bombastic...”

Wait...huh?

Most everyone seemed very willing to keep going today...what happened? Before it seemed they were just trying to survive or keep a low profile, now it seemed that fear had become something of a rare commodity in this team. Not even a rest for a day before a trek back into the battlefield? Tracy surprised him especially, not expecting this sort of behavior in a hundred years.

"Huh, well...huh." Boboiboy was audibly stumped. "Right, well seems everyone seems pretty on board with this, I have to come."

The mentioning of destroying the factory did make a certain part of his brain tingle in excitement, one that was hardly a good influence. When Frisk downplayed the wanting to downscale the bombastic nature of the destruction, he could feel the sort of his brain seething. He tried to ignore this, shifting his eyes away from Frisk with a sweat.

"I'm sure we can manage destroying it. We got more than enough tools to-" He paused his talk, looking at the determination holding girl. "Frisk, are you good? You seem a little tired...do you want to sit this one out...?"

“Hm?” Frisk raised her eyebrows, turning her head to Bo. “Oh. Um.”

She scratched the nape of her neck. “I’m good. Fine, I guess. I just uh, used a pretty draining move earlier... I think it’s starting to catch up with me.”

She wanted to say that she was worried about NOT going. What could happen if she wasn’t there? What if her presence could prevent someone’s death, and if she didn’t end up going...

The words didn’t come to her for some reason.

“But no, I'm good to keep going. If I need to,” Frisk nodded her head in a convincing manner, except it didn’t seem that convincing. “I just... does anybody have any monster food on them? It’s like... it heals you, restores magic, and stuff. I could go for days if I had some...”

Where was Tempura at? Hm, actually... Tempura didn’t produce very effective monster food. Her little flakes restored minimal mana, and totally pooped the temmie out.

V2

The topic shifted to selecting who wished to participate in the strike on the 4th location. V2 spoke shortly after Frisk stated that she was willing to participate in the new mission, in spite of her tiredness- which was good news, as the power she had demonstrated in the previous mission would undoubtedly be useful in the upcoming one.

"I'm going, of course," V2 began. The machine considered explaining that it's self-repair systems were powerful enough that any accrued damage had already been purged, but they reconsidered. If anyone asked, the machine would promptly explain, but that was unlikely. Hopefully.

A quick glance up and down is all it took for him to doubt Frisk's words. She was pushing herself too hard, he knew exactly what that looked like, he's done that himself many times. Usually it came back to bite him not too long after as well.

"If you feel drained, why don't you take a breather here? We need everyone at their top shape, and if you push it when your body isn't ready, I don't want to it being broken by whatever Sumeragi has."

V1 came to mind, the sudden bullet slinging robot coming out of nowhere. If they had been caught off guard or without enough power, he would have put a bullet in any of them and killed there on the spot. He didn't want that to happen to Frisk.

"Kane, V2, Tracy and I can handle it, don't worry."

Slums
(Some direction given by ArmedBlue)
After the revelation, Akira sat around for a while more. She felt much better, but that was beginning to be replaced with the itch to do something useful. She figured there would be time before the others got back, anyways.

A patrol it was.

Humming down the street on her bike, the officer was on the lookout for, well, anything really. The worrywart in her insisted that there was more out here. Sumeragi had to be attempting to track them down- it was important to figure out how successful they were so far and maybe smash up some more machines. Also, they'd only happened upon the other survivors who all knew eachother... who's to say there weren't more out here? It was a big city. Not as big as Akira was used to, but there could be a lot of people out here. Finally, there was the idea of recon. Maybe she could find their next target. They've been running out of targets. There were only the EN pack factory and the wall left.

Alas, she found nothing for a while. She went up and down the streets, throwing in some zigs and zags throughout the grids of the cityscape to try and make it difficult for anyone watching, if any, to guess what area she was patrolling. Even with her IRIS on, Akira was turning up empty-handed so far.

She was a bit up north from the bank when she was just about to throw in the towel. It was then that the Legionis saw a glimmer of movement within her enhanced sight from within a nearby ruined convenience store. No sooner than she comprehended it did she lay on the brakes and roll into an alleyway.

Akira's Legatus remained stowed as she crept back out of the alleyway, but her blaster was drawn. She had her hopes for it to be a survivor, but remained to be ready for the worst. The agent of RAVEN stuck to the wall and slunk up to the window of the store. Warily, she would stick her helmeted head into the glassless opening, seeking out whatever it was she'd seen inside.

One by one, people volunteered to take on the auto-fabrication factory. Although Frisk insisted she could continue fighting for the day, Boboiboy assured her that things would be alright without her, Kane nodding in agreement.

"Boboiboy's right – proper rest would be in everyone's best interests. If that's everyone, then the four of us will handle the factory as quickly as we can. The others should take the time to recover and prepare for tomorrow however possible."

With that, Kane began to head for the exit, though he stopped for a moment, looking behind him. "Jin, mind going over those schematics with Jennifer? She should be able to get some insight on how Sumeragi's machinery functions. Depending on what Frisk's data contains, she may be able to assist with it as well."

"Oh, of course, mister Gardner." Jin replied, bowing his head slightly.

"Make sure you dudes really wreck that factory up, alright?" Kyota said, giving the group a thumbs up.

"Good luck out there!" Kohaku smiled. "We'll make sure everyone here gets to relax and rest up!"

Following the Minos' encouragement, Kane stepped outside the bank. Tapping one of his earpieces, the commander displayed a holographic map of the surrounding area. Their target was south of their location, though quite a ways from the group. With Akira gone for the moment and Terrence staying behind, getting there could take a while. He certainly missed his Metal Attacker.

"I don't suppose anyone possesses some form of group transport..?"

City Slums – Ruined Convenience Store
Akira's peek into the convenience store didn't reveal much at first. Shelves stretching from the front to the back of the store separated the place into three lanes, much of them obstructed by fallen debris. Having moved closer, Akira could hear a faint whirr all the way in the back – before a Flying Drone wandered into view, drifting from the left side of the store to the right, before it was soon hidden behind the right shelf once again.

After another moment, it seemed to let out a sharp beep, accompanied by the familiar sound of its plasma cannon deploying––
CRASH!

The sound of metal denting and cracking followed, before a second blow sent the now non-functional drone skidding briefly along the ground.

"Tch, piece of shit robot..."

A voice came from where the robot had been moments earlier, seemingly belonging to a teenage boy.

Mr. Miracle
While everyone else had been busy talking about the next mission being pulled off TODAY (as if they all didn't get into enough trouble already for one day), Miracle himself had been kept busy by patching up his wounds in another room. Having waltzed into a lonesome space hidden from view, the magician had cast his uniform aside for a few moments to apply what he learned in how to utilize medkits to himself. His wave of a cape later, and one such box had appeared on the ground before him. Then, of course, came the painful parts - having to examine and treat his wounds.

First it was his legs; The skin was already bruising in ominous purple, severe trauma after his nasty impact with those barrels and that wall. They still allowed him to stand (through whatever miracle was coursing through his body), but they didn't exactly look healthy to keep. Terry had patted along his torso next; Not quite as bad as what his lower body had suffered, but evidently still damaged from having taken a slam to a reinforced wall of steel from the back and an explosion from the front.

And as he was busy applying what he could to both ease the pain and sponsor his own recovery going forward, Hagen couldn't help but keep an open ear for the topics being talked about around him. There was, of course, the new mission - destroying a factory. Something he... actually could reasonably do without any further strain, assuming he didn't have any more bloodsucking robots to escape from. There was also the matter of resting... but he was Mister Miracle, darn it! Crime doesn't sleep and neither do Miracles! What's one more mission if it meant slowing down oppressive tyrants?

As soon as he had closed up the Mr. Miracle-branded Medkit (prepped and manufactured for field use, because of course it was) and hastily slipped back into his uniform as Mr. Miracle again, another self-branded object slid out of the entertainer's right sleeve - a simple Energy Drink in the form of canned soda, flavored with Cherries and Wildberries. Not exactly the coffee he'd normally order, but it would have to do for now. God knows his sponsors and managers from back home would be glad the merch is still being used as intended, even if without his likeness around.

On his way out, as he cracked open the can and started to chug one big gulp after the next, Terry opted to help out a little more. He had heard that Frisk herself had grown tired, talking about something called 'Monster Food' that magically restored stamina and health. A nice thought to imagine, but alas, he lacked any such things. It didn't stop him from magikinetically sliding the used medkit over behind her so she could use it - alongside manifesting another branded can as he was holding himself right beside it. A silent gesture to help out, even on his way out again.

Upon joining up with the others, Miracle didn't bother to wait. He knew the others would find a way to transport themselves along as he soared overhead, stopping momentarily to make a brief display of magic; taking off his top hat and pulling his trusty, silver-capped wand from within before setting his headgear back on.

"Catch you over at the factory!"

With those brief set of words full of chipper attitude, Mr. Miracle set off once again. Soaring like a bird through the skies, he zoomed past the buildings below in a straight line towards the direction that he remembered the digital map showing as he had flown past it earlier. Yet still, he had not learn a single thing about running off on his own, despite the nasty clash it had gotten him into earlier in the day.

Terrence "Tired" Boom
Terrence, as much as he would’ve liked to go out and keep on being productive, it didn’t really feel like an option for him right now. To be honest… he felt a little off his game in this world, and wasn’t entirely sure why. Back home, he was pretty sure that he’d still have some energy to keep going after a mission like that, but right now, it was like his magic and his body were in two different places. He was far from replenished.

If the enemies were going to rally and be stronger the next time they met, then it would be a terrible idea to stay in motion and keep growing more and more drained while Sumeragi forces continued to amass behind the scenes. He needed to stay back and not use any magic for a little while- and to be honest, he suspected the same could be said of Frisk. They were of the same world, and their magic was in a similar vein- though he did suspect that she was still a fair amount stronger than him, he didn’t want her to spread herself too thin. That was something she tended to do, shouldering way more than she should’ve had to, but in all fairness, that was usually pretty necessary back home…

But their fellow, less-depleted Strikers could handle this one, Terrence felt.

“Does your magic feel a bit… sluggish?” he asked Frisk- as great as it would be if the answer was 'no,' he was also kind of hoping it wasn't just him. “Maybe he’s right- no need to push yourself to the limit. For whatever reason, this place feels a lot more… punishing than back home, when it comes to overexerting magic,” he admitted. When she spoke of monster food, he seemed to connect a few dots perk up. “I should catch up with Tempura... Kyota, she’s still in the base, right?” he asked, unaware of the Temtastic situation that was brewing deeper within…

FRISK DREEMURR

—Sapporo Bank, Day 2 Afternoon—

V2, Tracy, Kane, Bo, and the last-second inclusion of Miracle... Well, Frisk hadn’t seen many teams more solid than that. And nobody had any monster food, either, so she was left for a moment feeling a little useless. Only Officer Howard hadn’t come out to talk, and Frisk figured that maybe the cop would have elected to join as well. Where was she, anyway?

“Alright...” Frisk swallowed.

Commander Kane took immediate charge of the group following this. “Who died and put him in charge?” Chara snickered. “He’s no Katherine.”

Honestly, he was probably more qualified than Kat, Frisk thought. At least, Kane had a military designation. Kat ran a group of what was essentially outlaws, a group Frisk was part of. She got what Chara meant, though. Kat had a lot of ground and support to be barking orders from. Didn’t really matter, though, they were all in this together.

“Does your magic feel a bit… sluggish?” Terrence asked Frisk, their conversation becoming an aside as the away team set off for the final factory of the day.

Yes. It did. Sluggish was a good way to put it. Like somehow being here was stretching a cord through time and space. Almost like their magic wasn’t just carried within them, but given by an outside source. Frisk shouldn’t be feeling this way, not after what she’d so far done. Sure, exhausting attacks were exhausting, but she was feeling weaker than she should have.

T worded his support of Bo’s words, and Frisk pursed her lips for a moment.

“You do that a lot,” Chara commented.

But before Frisk could say something to Terrence—he’d turned away to Kyota, asking about Tempura’s whereabouts. Frisk looked at the back of his head, then to the retreating team on their mission... she felt the need to do something. Anything. Just something. She failed to notice Miracle’s gift. This girl wasn’t the best at spatial awareness. (Chara thought it would be funnier not to alert her)

“Jin, wanna help me?” Frisk asked, making her way through the lobby to the interior office spaces of Sapporo Bank. “Got some intel to decipher.”

Hopefully at least a quarter of it was useful. QUILL was long gone, so Moniqa’s data would be really dated. But Sumeragi wanted this data for some reason. Something in it would be useful. That was enough for Frisk to consider the operation today a success. Better in their hands than Sumeragi’s.

Boboiboy

"Mm."

Bo nodded in acknowledgment to both Frisk and Terrence, knowing the pair would look after each other in the rest of their absence. Of course, before they could officially mount up, Miracle grew a wild hair and soaring towards the factory as if he were an eagle...what an unpredictable man. BoBoiBoy stifled a laugh, scratching his cheekbone with his index finger.

"Well, we can't let him go by his lonesome, eh?"

Transportation for everyone was an interesting one. Cyclone was very fast but he was quite singular...and frankly he didn't want to become Cyclone for a while. He didn't have too many methods to take everyone quickly to one location dependably. Well, he could...oh. Oh dear. It was the only option, wasn't it?

"I have an idea, just...please try not to be too startled." He started with a bit of humored resignation, holding up his watch. "Elemental shift!"

Shifting his power watch, his form beamed in orange light, a green sigil overlaying atop of it as his hue took on its sheen. Emerging from the sigil was an elemental that most would find familiar here: Thorn. The childlike and most amateurish elemental of the lot.

"Thorn, happy to be here!"

He winked, giving a sideways peace sign to the group. Looking off in the distance to where they needed to go, Thorn put his hands on his hips.

"Now, I hear we gotta get some speed going to the place for everyone. Now I may have failed my driving test, but I sure know how to ride."

He half turned his face to the group, Tracy surely knowing what he meant from her first hand experience with this. Rubbing his hands together enthusiastically, he got onto the ground, his palms touching the floor.

"Ngh..."

A few seconds passed. Nothing seemed to be happening. Thorn, still hunched over not appearing to be doing anything.

"Nghhhh...okay okay, get back into it...!"

He seemed to be putting more pressure on the ground? Struggling to pressure it more and more. It looked like if someone described doing pushups to an alien and the alien was trying to recreate it.

"Geez never needed to make this many before. Phew. Just one second...okay and another second. C'monc'monc'monandtherewego!"

Suddenly, the ground in front of Thorn burst up! Large craters in the bank blew open, four large plantoid creatures emerging from them. They were Tumbosaurs, carnivorous raptors that Thorn had called upon before. These four were in distinct different colors - orange, blue, yellow, and purple. They shouted to life, their three tongues lashing out in the air, saliva like sap draping the ground. Thorn gestured to them in a Ta-da fashion, giving jazz hands.

"Behold! Our rides! Tumbosaurs for each of us! Don't worry, they don't bite! ...mostly."

Despite dropping this on everyone so quickly, he hopped onto the back of the blue Tumbosaur, gesturing for everyone to pick their mount. Looking back at Kyota, Frisk, Terrence, and everyone else he could see, he gave a long wave that he put most of his body into.

"Byeeeee everyone~! Save some snacks for me and don't eat them all while we are gone!"
