Tears streamed down Carmen's bruised cheeks. Their laughter echoed through the empty alleyway. She knew what Angelica had said. "That one's a Icarus. He'll do what it takes to survive." Oh, how Carmen wished she had listened to Angelica then. Now, there she was, broken, bleeding and bruised in a empty alleyway. That's when Carmen knew. She had to erase herself from the narritive. She would let future family members wonder what her reaction was. She stumbled upwards, forcefully dragging herself out of the alleyway. He turned around, snickering. "Y-you monster." Carmen spat. "You've forfeited the place in my heart. And I hope that you burn." She shoved passed him, sprinting off towards the woods. She could not be part of the narritive anymore. He had torn up her heart, broken down the palaces and cathedrals that he had built her, and Carmen would gladly watch them burn.
