Open CoDA - (A Superpower RP) Still Accepting New Arrivals

(OOC: Okay, maybe just a few more characters of the male variety....)

A boy who appeared to be of a mix of Spanish and American origin decided to step in. "Okay, that's enough." the boy said. He stepped in between Ryker and the other students. 'Is this guy nuts?' Erin thought.

Kendra's armor had been enchanted by herself long ago. So the covered parts of herself were spared of damage. Her hands would be another story. She landed on her back on the flame wall and used her hands to get up. So while the covered parts of herself were spared of damage as previously stated, her hands received damage from the flames, causing her to wince.

Meanwhile, Bast was in a spar of her own. A kid of Japanese origin screamed before turning into a Kitsune and jumping out of the way of the two robots that had been falling towards him. Bast's opponent was a canine like robot. The robotic dog was still on top of her when they landed. Bast kicked him off with her back legs. Then she used her size to her advantage, sliding out from under her opponent. Bast rolled back onto her paws. "This ain't over yet!" Bast quipped.

"Oh, yeah! Here, I have it!" Suzy responded as she pulled out Toby's mask and handed it to him. Though, Suzy was curious as Toby seemed very fond of the mask. He didn't seem to fear what other people thought of his scar, as he never really even tried to hit it, but it was quite obvious that he valued it for some unknown reason.

Suzy decided not think about it too much, however. After all, she already made Toby go through a lot today and she didn't want to worsen the situation.

"That's a huge relief! Thank you!" Toby accepted his mask and put it back on. "Much better. I would have had no idea what to do if I lost it. You see, it is a gift from my dad just before he went to prison so it is very dear to me. And I wear it for other reasons too, one of them is so that people will rcognize me when I am a full-fledged hero. The other reason is, well." Toby scratched the back of his head as he continued talking, even with the mask on it was clear that he was a bit uncomfortable.

"I might not show it since I am incredibly happy-go-lucky, but I am pretty insecure about my face. It wouldn't be the first time someone picked on me because of it, so I'd rather wear a mask than show the real me. That way I have an excuse to not show my face as the mask is part of my hero appearance and I want to get used to wearing it. Atleast that is what most people think. Can I trust you that you won't tell this to anyone? I would very much have a nice time here." He said, almost begging Suzy.

"Now, where are the dorms? I just got here and got into a sparring match which was fun, but I have no idea where to go." Toby said in his upbeat persona and giggled slightly.

Suzy didn't really see anyone wanting to pick on Toby just because of his scar, but Suzy told Toby, "I promise, I won't tell anyone about your insecurities, even if I don't really see a problem with them."

Toby then asked about the dorms. "Yeah, I know where they are, considering I'm in one" Suzy responded, "Come on, follow me. I'll show you the way." Suzy then started walking to the direction of the dorms.

After some time, Suzy made it to the entrance of the dorms and said, "Here they are! Finding your dorm shouldn't be too hard, just look for the codes on the dorm doors and you should be good to go."

"Thank you, I really appreciate it." Toby said smiling, although only his eyes were visible due to his mask. He followed Suzy to the dorms and heard her mentioning codes. "Excuse me, but what codes do you mean? Do I need to solve a puzzle or something to get to my dorm?"

"Get out here, it's dangerous!" Aura tried to urge this new kid who walked in and confronted the currently crazed Ryker, who offered a sinister sneer as he cackled at the new boy.

"Oh, and who are you supposed to be?" Ryker asked, as in spite of how damaged he was he still had that insane confidence in himself as he was more than eager to confront this new kid.

"Sorry!" Rebecca called out again as she knew pain was unavoidable given her use of fire though she didn't feel any less guilt over it. Still she had to set that aside and continue with the spar as she shook her leg as kicking an armored opponent was far from the wisest idea she could have used but sucked it up as she fired another blast hoping to knock Kendra back and away from the firewall that damaged her hands while she aimed to press her advantage.

"Oh, that makes a lot more sense. I can see why you were a bit vague, today wasn't exactly the calmest of days." Toby said, trying to comfort Suzy a bit.

"Should I just check every dorm then? I really should've visited the Headmaster first shouldn't I?" He said, slightly worried.

Erin recognized the boy. "Cody Rodriguez, you moron!" Erin called out to the kid who'd gotten between them. "Have you lost your mind!" Cody heard, acknowledging her with a grin, but didn't move.

Kendra was knocked back, and thus knocked away from the fire wall. She made her shield vanish. She then sheathed her sword. She nodded to Rebecca.

Bast leaped at her robotic opponent. She landed on his back. The robotic dog seemed to be doing an impression of a bucking bronco. An obvious attempt to get her off. It didn't seem to be working.

"I think that heading to the Headmaster's office will be the best choice of action," Suzy responded, "But I really think you should get some rest. You can crash at my dorm for a while, if you'd like. I mean, at least until you have your whole dorm ordeal taken care of."

Suzy thought it was the least she could do for Toby. After all, they both had a pretty rough day, so relaxation was something they both needed.

"R-really? Are you sure that that won't cause a huge commotion? I appreciate it, but possibly breaking rules on day 1? Not to mention how your roommate will react if you even have one." Toby was shocked by the idea of him crashing at Suzy's dorm. He thought that she was nice and he personally didn't have any trouble with mixed dorms, but he had no idea what the Headmaster would do if they found out.

"Nah, I don't think they'll mind," Suzy responded, "And I bet they'll understand if we have to explain the situation to them. Also, I don't have a roommate, either. I decided to get my own personal dorm, so I could decorate it how I wanted to."

Suzy then continued with, "You don't have to stay in my room if you don't want to. I'm not forcing you or anything, just making a suggestion. You can go by the Headmaster's office, it's just right over there." Suzy then pointed to the direction of the office.

"I'll go to the Headmaster first, okay? Then I'll see what happens." Toby said as he went towards the office and knocked. After a while he decided to enter the office and left almost immediately before returning to Suzy. "They're not in the office, so does your offer still stand? Of course if I am getting in the way of your daily life, just tell me." Toby said as he looked down a bit, a bit nervous given the situation.

"Yeah, of course!" Suzy responded. She would then lead Toby to her dorm room. As soon as they arrived at the entrance of the dorm room, Suzy opened the door with her special dorm key and said, "As the saying goes, 'Mi casa es tu casa!'"

Once the dorm was in full view, Toby wouldn't be able to see much, as the lights were off, but then Suzy lighted a match and lit a purple candle. But, as soon as the candle was lit, it created a domino effect and other candles would immediately lit afterwards, filling the room with light. The candles gave a nice, lavender scent to the room and gave it an eerie kind of vibe as the room shone purple. As there was now light in the room, a whole bunch of shelves could be seen with books that were stacked neatly. A bunch of posters could also be seen, most of them being from heavy metal bands. There was plenty of sculptures in her room of skulls and crows too, none of them were real, of course.

It is quite the opposite of what most people would think Suzy's room would look like, I as the writer think.

Suzy would then jump unto a purple bean bag that she had been in the corner of her room. "So, what do you think of my room?" Suzy asked, "Pretty spooky, right?" She chuckled as she moved her fingers around as if they were wriggling spider legs.

Toby looked around and tried to rub his eyes to make sure he wasn't dreaming. "Mask in the way." He muttered to himself and took his mask off. He was amazed, shocked, in awe, one of those fit his expression but he didn't know what. He turned to Suzy, doing his best to not let his mouth hang open. "Must say, I did not expect this in anyone's dorm but this is awesome!" Toby didn't quite jump but he would if he had enough energy for it. In the candle light his eyes were very clearly shining from happiness as he looked around the room and pointed at a poster.

"Have you seen any of these in concert? Are those skulls real? How did you create that domino candle effect?" Toby felt like a kid in a candy store, surprisingly at ease in the dorm. "Sorry if I am asking too many questions, but this is one of the coolest and most personalised rooms I've ever seen!" He said as he looked at the shelves, still smiling and with a twinkle in his eyes.

"Yeah, I've seen them all in concert, they were pretty cool. No, I made those skulls; some of the skulls are made from wood while the others are made from clay. A necromancer in training can't explain all of her tricks," Suzy responded to all of Toby's questions, the last question emphased with a wink. "And don't worry about a thing," Suzy continued, "I know my room is out of the ordinary, but I like it how it is and will like to keep it this way."

Though, Suzy thought Toby was acting so adorable. It really did seem as though he was kid in a candy store, and Suzy found that cute.

"A necromancer? Does that mean you can talk to the dead and tell their families that they're okay? Or was that a different thing?' Toby said as he thought about it. The question was appearantly not interesting enough as he looked at the skulls in more detail. "They look very real, what made you decide to make them? Could you teach me how to make such detailed items by hand? I would love to create one of my own!"

"Man, I should've come to this academy much sooner. Imagine the time that we could've spent together!" Toby said as he sat down on the ground cross legged and waited for Suzy to answer his onslaught of questions.

"What you're thinking about is a psychic or medium," Suzy responded, "Though, even though I can technically do that, a necromancer is basically someone who is able to control the dead or spirits to their whim."

"Yeah, I actually did create those," Suzy responded to Toby's questions about her hand-made skulls, "I decided to make them because I thought they would give my room some atmosphere." Suzy chuckled. "And sure, I can teach you how to make one, but it takes some time to make them, so you will have to be patient."

"Actually, I'm also new to this school as well," Suzy commented on Toby's statement, "I actually just moved in here a few days ago, so you could say we're both just as lost to how things work here."

That was a bit of an understatement for Suzy. This school had been crazingly terrifying since the first day she arrived. Especially because of the freshmen trio, who just seem to be getting themselves into trouble quite a lot frequently. Though, thanks to good friends, such as Lily and Andrew, Suzy decided to stay in this school so she could improve her powers, and someday find her lost parents.

"Please don't use me as a guinea pig without asking first, we both saw what Vision did to me and I don't feel like visiting the school nurse that often. Dead bodies attacking isn't my cup of tea." Toby said, slightly worried before being happy again. "I am patient! I can probably make them with your help! And they make nice decorations, especially if you have guests that you want to see leave very fast." He giggled at the thought of it.

"You are new too? Then let's help eachother through this year and maybe even following years!" The more excited Toby became, the harder it was to see him as a 16 year old. He resembled a young child more than anything, but he didn't seem to mind that. He just became happier and more excited, quickly forgetting that Suzy invited him to get some rest.

Echo nodded. "I'm not sure if I'll still be able to speak with you, but it's probably safer to do so. I've not had much experience, um... Mimicking other people's abilities, so I don't know what sort of side effects it could possibly have." Echo let out a slow breath, the flowers on her hair quickly withering away to nothing. Attempting to speak again, she spoke out in her mind, "Hello?"

"Well, you didn't waste any time, did you?" Sky commented, surveying the carpet of boxes and metal. "Just so long all this stays below ground and doesn't spread any fumes into my home, I can allow it." His form flickering back to a gust of wind, he grudgingly asked "Now, Wyst, could you please send me back up to the surface?"

Sitting outside the sparring grounds, Sarah had out her sketch pad and decided to draw something. Instead of fighting, she just wanted to spend sometime to herself without having to use her powers. Let alone speaking and interacting with someone else.

After watching some of the sparring matches, they were all quite intimidating to her. At this point, Sarah didn't know what to expect. Just to ensure she would still get stronger without confrontation with others, she decided to practice by herself. She pretty much considered her power to be useless. And compared to some who communicates with the dead and who is able to send you to an entirely different dimension, hers didn't mean that much to her.

Wondering what she would draw, the match going on in front of her kept her busy. Occasionally, she'd glance upward to check. Growing frustrated that she couldn't think of anything to draw and getting tired of staring at the same blank page for 5mins, an aura of blue flames surrounded her and burned the sketch book that was in her hands. Good thing she didn't keep her finished drawings inside. Sarah learned from when it happened the first time. The only down side was the fact she had to buy another, there was no problem with that though. Standing up, she began her trip back to her dorm.

"Well, whether he has or not will prove to be quite irrelevant. Bring it on!" Ryker said with a grin as he jumped, which just happened to move Ryker out of the way of Kevin's tongue as he cursed over his failed attempt to try and ensnare Ryker as Aura moved by Cody and tried to form an ice wall to protect him, but due to her distance by the time she arrived and began to go to work Ryker already threw a punched that was aimed for Cody's face.

"Run!" Aura called out in despiration, as she didn't want to see Cody hurt due to Ryker's bizarre state of mind.

Rebecca saw that Kendra sheathed her sword as she nodded back and dispelled her fire and let out a sigh.

"Man, you are amazing. I've wanted to test a couple of those combos are for awhile." Rebecca said with a little smile as she seemed pleased with the spar to this point, even if she felt Kendra had been holding out on her.

---------
"I'll be sure to accept those concessions, I applaud your generosity or Sky father." Candice said with a playful tone even if there was in her sincerity thanks as she and her drones went to work to build the underground facility. The passion all too evident in her eyes, though she would keep Sky's warnings to heart and keep the stuff underground.

Diego glared a bit at Zander as he walked down the hall, as he found his attitude to be a bit on the unpleasant side of things but then the voice of Aaron disrupted his thoughts as he turned to him an offered a quick nod.

"Right, let me just get checked out by the nurse. Be right out." Diego said as he quickly went to the nurse's office for some first aid as he was also eager to go see the other spars as soon as he could.

Cody refused to move. Though he didn't have a choice in the matter, since he was snatched up by Erin and forced out of the way. "What's the big idea!" Erin yelled at Cody. "You don't understand." Cody replied. "One of my powers is - " Cody was cut off by a soft "thud". The Japanese kid that a certain robotic duo nearly crushed was running away from something when, still in his Kitsune form, crashed into Ryker. 'Uh oh!' Erin thought. "Run!" yelled Cody and Erin.

"You were amazing too. You're pretty clever." Kendra said. "I still need to work on some things, but hey, that's part of why I decided to stay at this school." It was so peaceful over there. If they only knew what was going on on another part of the school grounds.

"Ryker!" Aura & Kevin called out, as both had jumped back but Ryker had been in no position to move as he was slammed into by some sort of kitsune and driven to the ground.

Aura & Kevin moved by the kitsune, as they focused on trying to get it off Ryker who remained pinned and seemingly unconscious from the force of the blow as Aura generated an ice sword and Kevin assumed a battle stance unsure of the best method to strike as the kitsune could crush Ryker under it if they did not approach with caution.

"Naturally, so let's both keep improving and make sure we are ready for these exams." Rebecca said with a smile as she walked over to Kendra and offered a hand. A sign of sportsmanship to the winged student, though she likewise was oblivious to the chaos the other students were dealing with.

The Kitsune whimpered as he was moved. "Do you think they - " Clay was cut off by Tia. "Don't finish that statement. You might jinx it."

Kendra took the offered hand and shook it. "Indeed." Kendra said. She stretched out her wings. "So, what do we do now?"

"Since you have been here longer than I have been, would it be okay if I turned to you if I don't know where to go? I am still incredibly lost here." Toby said as he smiled a bit awkwardly and scratched the back of his head. He was not going to deny the fact that he had no idea where everything was here, but he felt that everything would turn out okay as long as he was with Suzy.

"I promise not to use you as a guinea pig...but that doesn't mean that something or someone will have the same pleasure~," Suzy replied jokingly to Toby's statement, only trying to lighten the mood. "I'm just saying, Toby, just one of those skulls took me a whole week to make," Suzy added, "It really does take a lot out of you."

"Yeah, of course, I'll help you out!" Suzy responded to Toby, "I mean, I think it'll be pretty rude if I didn't."

"Woohoo! Awesome! Why did it take a week to make a skull? Did you need to find reference material? And what do you mean with 'the same pleasure'? Sounds scary!" Toby said whilst a big grin appeared on his face. "Ooh, ooh! I know something! You should come and meet my uncle one day! He's really nice and kind and strong and on this island!" In his excitement, Toby jumped up from the ground and flew headfirst into the ceiling.

"Ow, that hurt!" He cried out as he went back to the floor. "Sorry, got a bit too excited there." He said as he smiled.

"No! No! It's fine really," Suzy responded. Adorable! Suzy thought to herself as she still felt that child-like vibe from Toby, which Suzy found cute. She found it very hard to not chuckle as Toby hit her ceiling, but she didn't chuckle and decided not to dwell on it for long as she should respond to Toby's question.

"No, I had all the reference material I needed, it was just pretty difficult to get the details right," Suzy responded, "Meeting your uncle sounds like it could be fun. I would definitely like to meet the man who helped you use your powers properly, since you are really powerful." It just makes me wonder how powerful Toby's uncle is since Toby is already this strong.

"Y-you think that I am strong? Thank you!" Toby was caught off guard by the compliment but quickly recovered and focused on the skulls laying around. "I think that you have some ghostly friends nearby." He said as he let the skulls float around Suzy with his wind. "Oohohoooh!" He attempted to imitate a ghost but it was not nearly as spooky as he wanted it to be.

Suzy just chuckled as she just pushed the skull away. "Aw, come on Mr. Ghost, you're embarrassing me in front of my guest," Suzy teased as she decided to play along with Toby. Though, those kinds of tricks would never work on Suzy. Due to her powers to manipulate spirits, she basically grew a sixth sense that allowed her to communicate with and see spirits that roam another plane of existence in the living world, so she would know if there was a spirit or not in her room.

"How do you know that it is a male ghost? Do ghosts even have genders?" Toby asked as he let the skulls create some letters in the air. "I could become the best juggler in the entire world with these! Although I would prefer to become a hero instead." He said as he decided to spell out 'Suzy' with the skulls.

"Of course ghosts have genders," Suzy responded, "After all, all ghosts were once human. Besides, it's a 'mister' that is using his wind powers to make my skulls levitate." Suzy still teased the wind manipulator.

Though Suzy quickly changed from teasing to being nervous as Toby stated that he wanted to juggle her skulls. "U-uh...please don't try to juggle my skulls," Suzy pleaded, "I spent too much time on them." Though all that nervousness went away as Toby spelled Suzy's names with the skulls, and she couldn't help but think it was cute as she chuckled and blushed.

"Why do ghosts decide to stay here? Do they not want to move on? And 'mister' sounds like someone who is the boss of something or something along those lines, I am nowhere near that." Toby said as he made the skulls float back to their place. He chuckled as he noticed Suzy blushing. "Did I make you blush? That is adorable!"

Suzy just blushed even more as Toby noticed she was blushing, and called it "adorable." "Wha-!?" Suzy exclaimed, "Stop! You're embarrassing me!" Suzy's blush just got worse by the minute.

But siuddenly her blush went away as she heard what Toby had to say about ghosts. "That really isn't there choice," Suzy responded in a serious tone, "It is their punishment for commiting the grave sins they have commited in their life times." Suzy then changed her expression to a smile, and exclaimed, "But, let's not dwell on that! You came here to rest, remember, so I say you should just relax!"

"Sticking around is their punishment? I always thought that they sticked around for friends and family. How can they redeem themselves?" Toby asked interested and was displeased to hear Suzy talk about getting some rest. "Awww, it was just started to get interesting. Five more minutes, please?" He asked pleadingly, like a child hearing that they had to go to bed.

Suzy just avoided eye contact from Toby. No matter if she wanted to or not, she can't tell anything about that place to Toby. She had no idea what could happen to her, or Toby, if she were to do so.

"I'm sorry, Toby, but I can't tell you more than I already have," Suzy said. She was hoping Toby would understand and stop pestering her about the afterlife.

Toby noticed that Suzy started to grow uncomfortable and looked down to the ground. "I see, I'm sorry for going this far." He walked towards Suzy and hugged her to comfort her. "I am so sorry..." Toby felt tears burn behind his eyes but he didn't care, he reached a topic that was delicate for his friend and he felt bad for talking about it.

Suzy was surprised that Toby would suddenly hug her and start crying. Suzy would then just sigh, and broke the hug between her and Toby.

"You didn't go too far at all, Toby," Suzy told him, "This doesn't really concern me as much as you think, at least not emotionally. It's just...that I have to keep this secret, and if I ever tell anyone this secret it'll only bring forseen consequences." Suzy would then go to try to wipe Toby's tears away. "You really don't have to worry about it, Toby. It's nothing that hurts me. What hurts me is...what might happen."
