Open Console High (Discussion Thread)

You sure? I quite like it!

To be honest, I was about to have PAC-MAN come and enter after Ezreal to one shot the ghast and shut the escapade down as, in retrospect, I feel it may have introduced unwelcome chaos into the RP - only reason I didn't is because I also felt it was unfair to suddenly end the scene without giving everyone an opportunity to express whatever scenes they had in mind
Oh. Well, i mean, sure then! Forget i said anything

Hey, let Steve have his moment too guys

Yeah don't end it before Steve gets to interact with it. He does know what the Nether is.

Also the difference between Hammer Bro and Ezreal is that the Koopa takes this whole “pranking” thing with utmost seriousness. Like he’s a professional at this.

Tali (Mass Effect) - Engineering Teacher(?)
Name: Tali'Zorah
Age: 25
Appearance:
Digital Tali | Mass Effect | BioWare | Cook and Becker

Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Biggest Strength: Knows pretty much everything about every machine she comes into contact with and knows how a computer console works.
Biggest Weakness: Most of galactic society doesn't like quarians.
Confidence: Depends on the situation. With machines? Through the roof. With almost anything else? Pretty low.
Biggest Fear: Robot uprising
Roles: Engineering Teacher, Chatterbox
Species: Quarian
Personality: Tali is kind, caring and considered an expert in technology and engineering, even by quarian standards.
Relationships: Kal'Reegar (friend), Shala'Raan (friend), another friend I forgot the name of (friend; dead), Commander Shepard (close friend; dead), Garrus Vakarian (friend)
Nickname(s): none needed
Backstory: Tali was raised on the ship Rayya for most of her life. When she began her Pilgrimage, she and her friend tried to get onto the planet Illium to get some stuff for the Migrant Fleet. Unfortunately, the galaxy is racist, and the two were held up long enough for a mercenary to find them and kill her friend, who had helped her unload a geth memory core without frying it, unsure why there were geth on Illium. Tali managed to stow away onto a ship to the Citadel and stayed on the Zakera Ward for a while, and managed to get back at the mercenary who killed her friend by trapping him in an incinerator and burning him alive. Then the plot of the Mass Effect trilogy happened. After Shepard's death, she decided to settle down and teach everyone who needs it how to handle technology, although she is mostly skilled with engineering.
Goal: Help organic and synthetic life coexist
Fun Facts: Tali suffers from extreme arachnophobia.

Biggest Strength: Still has visions occasionally
Biggest Weakness: Pessimistic

He takes it personally if someone he trusts gets hurt, and is also quite humble.
Relationships: Fiora (wife), Nikol (son), Dunban (brother-in-law; close friend), Reyn (best friend), Melia (close friend), Sharla (close friend), Riki (friend), Rex (friend), Egil (rival; dead), Mumkhar (initial enemy; dead)
Nickname(s): Monado Boy (before saving his world)
Backstory: Shulk lost his parents on a quest to obtain the Monado, a powerful sword which he later became skilled at handling. He lived in Colony 9 and was a mechanic as well as studying the Monado. The Mechon invaded Colony 9 and seemed to kill his childhood friend Fiora, so Shulk embarked on a revenge mission. The Monado gave him visions of the future, which helped him during battles. During the course, Shulk learns about the past and hidden abilities of the Monado and decides to create a godless world where humans can create their own destinies. He later discovered that Fiora survived, but was physically changed significantly, though later the change was reversed.
Goal: To help the next generation at Console High.
Fun Facts: Shulk triggered Reyn's arachnophobia - as a prank - as revenge for Reyn triggering his scoleciphobia - again, as a prank.

Does... does Link know who Hammer Brother is? They both attended Nintendo High, and Hammer Bro. was the left-hand man to Bowser... Could be a cool dynamic where Link is wary of him due to previous shenanigans.

Tali could teach Biomechanics 101, or she's a different computer teacher. Probably hangs out with R.O.B a lot since he's a machine.

Don't forget to read the rules real quick.

Link knows who Hammer Brother is, most likely. Also, I don't think Engineering and Computer Science are the same thing but that's mostly irrelevant lmao

Also I added Console to all the bios after forgetting lmfao

Well if that's the case, you're accepted! Hammer Brother would probably like to know why Zelda isn't with him.

WHAT IF Mr Game and Watch was the one who founded the school, but he's retired now

Oh that definitely works! Game and Watch is definitely much older, so he got a cool mural in the courtyard (since he’s 2D).

I think R.O.B reminds Clover a little too much of Axis for his liking. It does explain his rating.

Glad to see Hammer Brother’s got 10/10 from the sheriff themselves! He hasn’t had any time to pull pranks, so maybe it’ll drop to an 8 in time.

I'm glad Steve got a ten! And trust me, he'll be fine with his Hunger bar. Not gonna die that easily

Ok y'all, ready to bring this chaos to a close with Clover's group meeting Ren, Sora and Ez in the storage room to fight the last of whatever's coming through the portal while Steve closes it?

You’re probably wondering who’s this new girl on the block. Well, she’s got an important place in Console High, as a member of a new batch of NPCs.

This trio are at the top of the food chain, both literally and figuratively at Console High, representing the might of nature in all things. Unlike most mean girls, they have a habit of being really into activism, especially about environmentalism.

Viridi represents flora, Phosphora represents weather, and Tirsiak represents fauna, though the white-haired girl the newest member of the clique. She is a lone wolf, a complete introvert compared to her friends. She has some animalistic tendencies, and she’s brutally honest with every word she says.

Viridi hasn’t changed her appearance that much, because she’s already short enough to qualify as a high schooler. She can be temperamental, but it’s because she takes pride and joy in plants everywhere, and hates how corporations bulldoze nature for their own agenda. People have seen her murmur about someone named “Palutena” with pure animosity.

Phosphora, harbinger of lightning, has taken a liking to her school. She’s the mischievous member of the trio, with enough tricks to put a shock in your system. She plays basketball in her free time was well as tagging along to whatever protest or march Viridi decides to join with her friends.

Bonus: I’m planning on having Tirsiak be Hammer Bro’s love interest, though it’s gonna take a long time before the romance starts.

Back! How would we like to round up this nether portal escapade?
"Ready as a turkey on the day of thanksgiving!"
"....Sure."
Anyone up to post soon? Just checking in, that’s all.
perhaps people are a bit confused on what you were intending when you decided to introduce your new person in the middle of a transitional scene? I knew I wasn't sure what I was reading when I first saw your post. It was a tad confusing to follow- for me at least.

Although i think I've got a good grasp on it now- he ended up trailing behind and getting lost, right?

Oh sorry about that… yeah he totally got lost, but I was planning on having Viridi make and appearance help the heroes turn off the portal. You know, expand the world a little.

AAUHAISDUWGDIWQUDU I CAN'T ANYMORE I NEED TO WRITE SOMETHING

Here's a little insight into Clover's home life ! ! !

Clover and Ren
-Saturday-
-4:50 pm-

Ren stood outside the apartment building, glancing down at the phone in his hand to check he had the address correct. He remembered Clover texting him it with the following message:

"Drop on by anytime u like! Ur always welcome!!!:p"

Ren thought it would be funny to take those words literally, so here he was, at the front of Clover's apartment, unannounced. He expected something more along the lines of a country ranch for Clover, yet the building they lived in was grey and unassuming. In fact, it looked decrepit, more than anything, and looking at it, Ren got the impression that not too many happy families found there way there. But as he was not one to judge, he swallowed the small amount of trepidation he had and stepped through the door.

The lobby didn't look much better than the outside, but at least there was an actual doorman. The man- or, rather, monster- sat at the front counter, their large button eye staring Ren full in the face. They had stitches crisscrossing their face, making them look like a fuzzy doll. Ren approached him, having a bit of trouble maintaining eye contact. Nevertheless, he spoke.

"...Hey. I'm, uh, looking for...Clover..." Ren trailed off, ashamed that he didn't know Clover's last name. The doorman didn't seem to need a last name though, for they smiled wider and said, "Oh, Clover, you say? They never get any visitors! Go right in!" He said, pressing the button to let Ren into the actual apartments. Ren blinked. "You...You're just going to let me in? Like that?"

At this, the doorman actually laughed. "This is a place of darkness, friend. Some of the residents might actually be happier dead than stuck here! Kehehe."

Ren stepped over the threshold, perturbed. He decided that the doorman didn't need a response to that.

...

When Ren finally reached the apartment number that belonged to Clover, he smiled. There was a big doorplate adorning the front door, greeting him with a resounding 'Howdy!' Shaking his head, he knocked.

Clover was nowhere near prepared to greet a guest. They were lounging around watching old cowboy DVDs on their small television, and when they heard knocking, they groaned. Clover wasn't expecting a guest. They just assumed that it was their neighbor, Decibat, knocking to complain about their noise level again.

Clover rolled out of their armchair, slumping over to the door to smile through what was sure to be a long winded yet almost silent lecture. What they did not anticipate was Ren. Upon opening the door, they looked up at their friend and immediately flushed. He was as tall, cool, and serene as ever. And Clover? Clover looked ridiculous.

Ren was surprised at how Clover looked when they opened the door. They were not even remotely dressed like a cowboy. Instead, they wore a bright yellow shirt bearing the legend 'Moves Like Bailador', with a pair of house shorts that barely peeked out from below the shirt's low hemline.
Their hair was a mass of untamed curls, and to complete the picture, their feet were covered with a pair of pink fuzzy slippers.

Clover made eye contact for one second, before staring at the floor and turning the color of a tomato. They mumbled "Be right with you," into the wood floor, and slammed the door in Ren's face.

...Ren realized that showing up unannounced was not his smoothest move.

Clover slumped against the door, sighing in a slight panic.

Ren?! Now!? Why!?

Clover didn't want to keep him waiting, so they bolted into their room to put on a proper pair of pants. They simultaneously tried to comb their hair into an acceptable amount of untidiness, but the curls stubbornly refused to do their job. It must've been their off day. In their frenzy, Clover fell to the floor, eliciting a slight profanity from their mouth (Darn). Finally, with their pants finally on the right way around, Clover looked into the mirror and sighed again. This wasn't their best hair day, but it'd have to suffice.

Walking into their main room, they looked around. At least they hadn't strewn trash around the floor. It was acceptably tidy. Clover turned the TV off, and walked to the door. Arranging their face into a breezy smile, Clover opened the door to greet Ren once again.

He was still there. Still serene.

Ren waited patiently for Clover to open the door again, and when they did, Ren immediately launched into an apology.

"Sorry. I should have called first. Did I...come at a bad time?" Clover shook their head, their face still a bit flushed as they responded.

"N-No, no! Not at all! I'm always happy to see a friend. Wanna come in?" Clover stepped aside to let Ren into the apartment, and Ren was surprised again at how bare the apartment was.

Its walls were a light grey, and no posters or pictures adorned them at all. The only furniture in there at all was one bookshelf, a television on a table, and two leather armchairs. "Let me show you some of that good ol' southern hospitality! Make yourself at home," Clover said, gesturing around the apartment. Ren leaned against the wall, and Clover shuffled from foot to foot, clearly at a loss.

"...Are you sure it's fine?" Ren asked. Clover nodded vigorously. "Yeah, it's all good! Uhm, My parents aren't home at the mo'- they're at work. So you don't have to worry about bothering anybody!" Clover proclaimed, looking a tad uncomfortable. Ren responded with a nod of his own, noticing how uncomfortable Clover seemed. Were they still thinking about before, at the door? Or were they thinking about something else? Either way, Ren didn't know how to respond, and a moment of silence descended between the two before Clover asked, "Um...Want a drink, partner? I got soda. Or regular ol' tap water."
"Soda would be nice." So Clover padded on over to the fridge, beckoning Ren over and handing him a lime flavored off-brand. Ren popped it open and drank. "....Nice place you got here," Ren said after he drank.

"Oh, it's an alright little place, I suppose. It can be a bit creepy sometimes- speaking of which, Seam wasn't too weird, were they? They like to pick on people," Clover said, apparently referencing the doorman. Ren shook his head.

"....Uhm....Yeah!" There was silence again. There was a lot of that, Ren noticed. Although he didn't feel uncomfortable in it.

"...So...Do you wanna go do something? Maybe we could go for a walk? Or...Do you like cowboy movies, maybe?" Clover asked, leaning on the wall next to Ren.

Ren thought. "....Let's walk." Finishing his drink, he threw the can away and waited as Clover put on a pair of boots.

"Alright! Ready!" They proclaimed, throwing open the door and passing through. Ren followed, and the two walked.

It was peaceful.
